This is fun. I'm having fun. Are you having fun?
--x--
Uncle smiles as you grow increasingly enamored with the child on the slab, after you feel that
full thickness in your limbs reside. As you take in his cold, stiff features you vaguely hear Uncle say something like
f'raghn fhesoo grawfnhae hejeuuw
"Well Aleister, Maya, it has truly been fun. Aleister, you were always one of my favorite sycophants . Maya...you were pretty, I suppose. Not really my type. Too...Sane. Hehehehehe!"
The other two bodies on the slab shakily rose to their feet. Only now do you realize that those bodies were the mangled corpses of your Mother and Father.
And yet...you can't find it in you to care. Hehehehehe.

Uncle sends them away, and you find yourself presiding over the body of this boy. You wonder how he died, how Uncle got ahold of his corpse. Did Uncle kill him himself, or was he just another casualty?
"Now, for the Raising. All Necromancers use their life force, or in other words their Soul, to power the Zombie Infection. However, you need to have a special...kind of Soul to make it Infectious. That's what is referred to as The Aptitude. You, Ms. Crowley..." He ruffles your blonde hair affectionately,
"...have just the right kind to join your family's art."
He directs you to make a cut on the palm of your hand with one of the many sharp implements around the workshop. You are a little timid at first, but something calls you...like your blood
wants to leave your body.
You oblige it.
Your blood runs down your hand, and Uncle directs you to drip it in one of the boy's many cuts.
You feel...stirring. There's a wriggling feeling in your tummy that's spreading all around you. It's almost powerful enough to make you start shaking, but you don't feel any kind of pain...
"And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low? Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know..."
Uncle was saying things that don't make sense agaiiinnnnn...
"...ahhhgh." The dead boy on the table gasps. You shrink back in surprise, as Uncle smiles and continues.
"And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that Lord of Castamere. And now the rains weep o'er his halls, with no one there to hear."
Skill Test- Necromancy (d2-2): 1-2 = -1 = Failure.
The boy struggles for a moment, before slumping against the stone. Uncle looks...disappointed?
"Ah, you're not quite a prodigy it seems. That's a shame, and I set such an eerie mood too."
You look at him quizzically as he wraps some cloth around the cut on your hand.
"This boy is rather long-dead, I'm afraid. Most of his soul is gone, so you didn't have much to infect. However, my preserving saved some small amount of life-force, so that's always good."
Uncle walked around the slab to better survey the corpse.
"It seems that what you lack in finesse you make up for in talent. Perhaps it's her meddling or your own qualities, but this boy has a very potent Infection inside him. You won't be wanting for other zombies for long."
[Brother gained Trait: Pure- Add +2 to Infection/Conversion Resistance Rolls]
The boy stirred again, and when he was able to sit up you practically tackled him back down in an overjoyed hug. "Brother!" You called out in glee.
Uncle smirked, "Brother, eh? Ironic. Well then, let's put your Brother through his paces, yes?"
--
Despite what Uncle said, it was actually your education that was done first. You learned about the fine points of how to control a zombie, what a zombie could and could not do, and a warning that while getting bitten by a feral zombie should be okay, getting bit by a Necromancer's Zombie will likely still Infect you.
[Gained Skill: Knowledge (Necromancy)]
[Gained Skill: Necromancy]
--
After that, Uncle regretted to inform you that Brother was severely hampered by his lack of life-force.
[Brother gained Trait: Corpse- The zombie is desiccated, and is poorer for it. Starting traits are 1.]
You pout, but there's really nothing you could do about it, in the end of things.
--
That was your life for the next month. Learning how to control Brother, and how to fight with him at your side. Uncle noted that you have a particular proficiency in noticing things, and that has extended to your...siblings.
[Aria's favored Trait is Awareness, so it is easier to upgrade that Trait and Aria's skill, Notice.]
In addition, after everything that's happened to you, you feel like you've made a major Advancement in life, and feel stronger for it.
[Level Up! See End of Update]
Once that month passes, you reflect in your room alone one night about things. You were looking forward to the next months being more of the same, until...
