The Spirit Is Willing...
[-1 Strength, +1 Spirit Reroll]

[X] You studied the Necronomicon, and when you eventually felt brave enough to try and animate a body it worked.

Yes...you remember studying more than what became reasonable. You were really not surprised when your family did decide to ostracize you, you had spent so long away from them studying that it probably seemed like you joined a cult. That's just absurd. Who would want to use this black magic, this power that they had at their fingertips...

No, joining a cult would be foolish, committing yourself to someone's tutelage in that manner.

...did you?

[x] Yes. (Will Influence Type of Necromancer you become)

[x] No.

[X] You have someone to protect, someone worth braving all the darkness in the world for.
-[X] Baby Sister

[+10 Alignment, +1 Spirit]

[+10 Madness]

Regardless of your affiliations, that didn't stop your family from casting you out. Forcefully, with guns.

Some part of you understands the pragmatism, the world was becoming a Necromancer vs. Sheep world, and your weak family had to do what they must to try and survive.

Which makes it all the more baffling why your nine year old sister ran away to join you.

She hasn't told you why, and in fact doesn't really talk much in general. But every night, once you find a place for the two of you to sleep, she always hugs you goodnight without a word. Strange girl.

...You don't know if she has The Aptitude.

...You're not sure you want her to have it.

(What is the Baby Sister's name?)
[x] Write in, Aria is not allowed for obvious reasons.

Over the months you've been striking out your own living, and you can confidently say you've managed to survive.

With a lot of conditional modifiers.

Your home is...

[x] An Alley, strategically able to be covered by large dumpsters.

[x] An abandoned home in an overrun neighborhood.

[x] Lodgings within a Cult's Hermitage. (Requires Cult Affiliation)

Additionally, the time on your own helped you become a better and more skilled person.

(You have five skill points and three attribute points to spend. Check the mechanics post for more information~)

Not a bad plan. I marked them as such because if any of those rolls fail by degrees, bad things happen.

Which, technically, can happen even if you're skilled. Shit happens.

@veekie I suppose you just don't care for the sister's name?

are you saying how much points we put in things now will determine our maximums?

{Savage Worlds is my RPG of choice, but the multitude of dice you have to roll for a given situation can be a little much. So in this instance, I spliced the SW Skills and made everything a d20 roll +(relevant skill). You could only have as much skill as you had Attributes, so to get Fighting +4 you needed an Agility 4 as well.}

Ok, I get it now.

Generally the order of most to least corruptive is:

Fleshcrafting --> Necromancy --> ??? --> Artifice
Actually guys, I think we should drop fleshcrafting... I think we should drop regular necromancy too and focus entirely on artifice and maybe on ???, considering that artifice is the least corruptive path and thus the key to remaining sane.

and we definitely need survival if we want to feed self and sister.

[X] Strength +1

We chose to have spirit be our strong point, boosting smarts past it right now feels like retconning our choice

[X] Shooting 1
[X] Healing 1
[X] Survival 1
[X] Artifice 2

Also, it doesn't say anything about "needing training to use", it just says
*Subject to particularly bad critfails and fails.
so, for example, getting a fail on fixing will probably mean we break the tech more or even beyond repair. A crit fail might also involve electrocuting ourself. so it is harder to grind

Persuasion: 0 (Spi)
Intimidation: 0 (Spi)
wait, really? spirit is just charisma and used for nothing else but charisma? that kinda sucks. I was sure it would be a big deal for necromancy

I'll withhold my comments here about sanity and such, as you players have to sweat about something. :p

Keep in mind though that ??? is labeled ??? not because people don't know what it is, but because Lord Alpha is the only one to have been known to use it.

And no one has survived long enough to hear what he calls it.

You're right, but I just edited it to say that from, "Should not be used untrained."

That was a little less clear on what I actually meant.

Those are the only skills linked to Spirit, however Spirit by itself will be rolled more than once for things like fear, resolve, and other tests of will.
