Alrighty folks, I hope you're in the mood for something not too serious

Long story short this is a signup thread for play by post RWBY RP. One which takes certain liberties with the characters in line with my own sense of humor.

I don't really need much in terms of sheets, just something straightforward like this:

Name: (Who you are)
Race or Country of origin: (Or both if you want to be specific)
Appearance: (what you look like)
Weapon: (The more creative and convoluted the better. If you lack inspiration, I suggest looking up the stuff found in Bloodborne as a good start. No straight ripoffs mind you because if you want a transforming weapon without a ranged option then that's what you're gonna get)
Semblance: (Your one of a kind magic power. If it's simple, then leave it simple. If it's crazy convoluted, then make sure to write it out)
Dust Access: (Here is where you justify how much access you have to the resident magic powder of the series, which allows you to pull off certain element-based stunts. Not just anyone can pull out Weiss levels of access to the stuff, and that's a standard I'll be holding you to)
Alignment: (Good, Evil, Yourself, etc.)
Backstory: (Preferably include your characters personality in here as well. Can be as short and as long as you want....Please be short)

The format will be mostly freeform, with success being determined mostly on a combination of my whims and the creativity of the respective individuals if the two or more of you come into conflict with each other.

Basically, as the name implies, this is all about having fun in the setting with a few twists and turns to it.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go to sleep.

Vincent Aconi
Name: Vincent Aconi (Goes by Vin or Vinny)
Race: Human
Country: Vale
Appearance: Black hair, grey eyes, slightly tanned. Vincent has a lean build and is slightly above average in height. Usually has an easygoing smile on his face. Usually wears a t-shirt and sweatpants.
Weapon: Sepiida Decapod. A gauntlet with a large drill on the end that can be used to quickly burrow through the ground. It covers most of the forearm. It can shift to an arm mounted minigun, which obviously fires at an extremely fast rate. It takes both normal and Dust enhanced rounds, but due to its nature as a minigun (a liberal fuckton of bullets sprayed around), Vinny typically sticks to normal rounds. The gauntlet part has a cephalopod-esque design, appearing as if Vincent is putting his arm inside a cuttlefish's mouth. The drill/minigun takes the place of the body.
Semblance: Golem Creation. What it says on the tin. Vinny can make temporary golems by infusing random materials around him with his Aura. They're not very intelligent, but they make for good meatshield/mooks/distractions, and the better ones can be pretty strong. If he wants them to things more complex than "beat that up", he has to micromanage. The more effort he takes making them, the higher quality they are. He can also grant them special abilities by using Dust in their creation. Fire breathe from Red Dust, for example.
Dust Access: The normal amount your average Hunter gets.
Alignment: Good for the most part, but will always take the path that's easiest and most convenient.
Backstory: Just your average guy who's a Hunter for a hobby. He decided to become a Hunter because he was bored and thought it sounded fun, and was further influenced by his parents, who were Hunters in the past. Vin's pretty lazy for the most part, and he usually wears worn out clothes because he doesn't feel like going shopping. Because of his laziness, Vincent usually refuses to do things that don't benefit him, which leads to him reluctantly training. However, when he's doing something he enjoys, Vincent can get extremely fired up. He hates formality and people that take themselves too seriously. Not above dark humor, Vinny uses jokes to deal with stress and bad situations.
A silly character for a silly sounding premise. Also Biscuit Hammer needs an anime.

Sig Volsung
Behold the power of mountain hobo stronk

Name: Sig Volsung
Race: Human
Nationality: The Kingdom of Vale
Appearance: A rough and tumble man at the prime of his youth, Sig has a slender frame and shaggy blond hair. He has a prominent scar that stretches from the top of his nose to his lower left cheek. His attire consists of lincoln green clothing and a dark green cloak, along with bandages on his left arm, and brown boots.
Weapon: Gram Andvar - A gold-studded combination two-handed sword and rifle outfitted to fire Dust-enhanced cartridges. Shines brightly like a disco ball in sword form.
Semblance: Runes - A highly varied ability that allows Sig to inscribe objects with a combination of Dust and Aura, imbuing them with elemental energy and manipulating them from afar.
Dust Access: Moderate, Slightly High. His ability, which has run in the Volsung family for generations, is not terribly Dust-consumptive, but his preference for Dust-enhanced ammo increases his need for the good old magic powder. The other power that has run through the Volsung family for generations is wealth, which has been earned by dominating the steelmaking industry of Vale for decades.
Alignment: Fabulous Good
Backstory: Middle child of the Volsung family, noted for its influence on Vale's steel production. Whereas his relatives typically groom themselves for a career in business, Sig realized that he was simply too fabulous to consign himself to such a meagre fate. Instead, he trained to be a hunter so that he would sculpt his image into a magnificently heroic one and be idolized by the public.

However, one of his most notable features is that he is mute, although not deaf. His inability to speak is somewhat offset by the use of hand signals in the field and a double-sided whiteboard that has been enhanced with runes to visualize his mood and thoughts.

His personality is noble if vain, often aggrandizing his own image to improve his own mood and those of his compatriots.

Weapon: Normal Knives.
(What you thought everyone could afford fancy weapons?)
Semblance: Telekinesis, perhaps the most simple yet complicated power.
Telepathically pick up many and multiple objects, exerts one's presence in any given space, create bubbles of telepathic force, redirect blows, , block people's paths with telepathic walls, trip you, etc.
This semblance interacts with elemental dust. Cryokinesis, Pyrokinesis etc. Must be consumed with a custom dust inhaler. As a side effect it can cause mental imbalance depending on the dust and even long term mental damage.
Dust Access: Very minimal, will often just ask a partner or an underling, doesn't like using it.
Can outright just take it with his semblance or insert it into the inhaler.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.

Backstory: Born in the kingdom of Vacou with a very powerful semblance he was the pride of one of the desert villages and was prepped for Beacon Academy.
His personality is lazy and cocky. Rarely willing to actually fight and doesn't really listen to what anyone has to say, even instructors.
Despite this he trains out of boredom sometimes. Perhaps this is just a sign of his youth?

Enrico Verde
Do this one works?
Name: Enrico Verde
Race or Country of origin: Human Mistral
Appearance: A young man of average height and short black hair, normally wears a white shirt and black pants.
Weapon: A pair of knives a pair of pistols and a flock of trained pigeons (the pigeons had their aura activated and normally work as either distraction or dropping Dust in the enemy)
Semblance: Fascination: Enrico has the ability to select a object he is touching and cover it with a aura of fascination, everybody nearby will feel their attention draw to that object. This fascination can be easily overcome and normally doesn't work as nothing more than a few seconds distraction. (The pigeons were trained to resist this effect)
Dust Access: High. Enrico comes from a rich family and for that reason he has enough money to buy the money to arm his pigeons.
Alignment: Neutral Good.
Backstory: Enrico is heir of a rich family of actors from Mistral, but at difference of his parents he is shy and prefers animals towards persons.
He started to train pigeons from young age, this consumed a lot of his free time so he decided to train in two basic styles that could be modified in the fly. (AKA: he knows how to use his weapons but lacks a specific style preferring to just wing it)
He decided to become a Hunter hoping that the high risk career would need little social interaction.
He is really bad at planning preferring to just follow orders.
 
Ash Drake
I did consider making at least a semi-sensible/serious character for this... buuuut then I decided screw it.
Name: Ash Drake

Race: Faunus (Wolf)

Country of Origin: Vale(?)

Appearance: Ash is a tall, tanned man of indeterminate age (from looking at him, he could be anywhere upwards of 18) with an athletic build that is suited to rapid, sudden movement. He has yellow-orange eyes, grey-black hair, and a pair of fox ears on top of his head. Generally, he wears loose and baggy clothing in dark green and greys.

Weapon: Hydratooth, a flamethrower-machinegun-axe-scythe. Can be loaded with dust cartridges to turn the flamethrower into a lightningthrower/icethrower/plasmathrower/etc. Has the following forms:
  • Axe: The machine gun fires out of the base of the shaft whilst the flamethrower fires out of the head. Ammo storage is on the side of the head (armoured). The blade is formed from the scythe folding up and around the top of the shaft to form twin curved blades.
  • Shooting: From Axe form, the blade folds and reverses to form the stock, whilst the handle-barrel extends and the flamethrower reverses and plugs into it. Bullets and flame are both fired from this barrel, and both may be fired simultaneously.
  • Scythe: From Axe form, the blade unfolds into the long scythe blade, whilst the shaft-barrel extends. The machinegun fires from the base of the shaft whilst the flamethrower fires from the top of the scythe.
Semblance: ABSOLUTE. An extremely potent and versatile Semblance, that bears an equally high aura cost to use. Put simply, it is the power to (temporarily) make anything an absolute unchangeable fact; an absolute sword swing will keep moving without loss of speed or power no matter what it has to cut through, an absolute fire will burn through or set on fire anything (even things like asbestos or pure argon) and keep burning even with nothing to burn, an absolute form cannot be damaged in any way, and so on and so forth.

Dust Access: Minimal. He only has access to that he can buy himself, and his income is limited to what he earns himself- which as he lacks official records and thus legitimate employment, isn't much.

Alignment: Neutral

Backstory: Ash's memory starts very recently; waking up in the middle of a forest surrounded by dead Hunters wearing three distinct types of uniform, plus a small number of 'irregular' non-uniformed warriors, of which he was a part. Despite having retained decent general knowledge of Remnant (the Grimm, Hunters/Huntresses, legal systems, etc), he doesn't recall why he was there in that forest, who any of the hunters were or what the uniforms mean, or anything about himself aside from his own name and how to fight.

Lacking any form of identification or memory to tell himself about himself (as, amongst other things, his scroll was broken by the fight), he made his way to the nearest population centre, and from there to Vale (the city he recalls the most about, and thus assumes he originally lived in). Cautious poking around has yet to reveal anything about who he was- he's been unable to find any mention of his name in any records or the academies- and he's since been scraping something of a subsistence living; doing odd semi-legal or illegal jobs to earn enough money to get by.

Personality: Ash is the quiet, cautious type. He waits and watches from the sidelines, nonjudgmental, before involving himself. His fighting style is contrastingly brutal, consisting of rapid, unstoppable assaults and blow intended to put his enemies down as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

He doesn't know how it happened, due to lacking any memory. All he knows is that he is a wolf faunus... who somehow has fox ears. :confused:

Violet Sparks
Name: Violet Sparks

Race or Country of origin: Atlas

Appearance: Violet stands 5'10", with shoulder-length purple hair slightly singed and hacked at near the ends. She has fairly tanned skin and bright blue eyes which stare intently at whatever has taken her focus at the time, along with an easy-going smile which rarely leaves her face. Her outfit is a mismatch of various styles, a white collared shirt, a purple leather jacket, black combat skirt, and brown horse riding boots.

Weapon: Twin blade/grappling hook gauntlets, named Current Lines. On the top of each gauntlet, double-edged blades a foot and a half extend. On the bottom, grappling hooks shoot out. Controls for the gauntlet are inside the permanent closed fist. A switch causes the weapon to fold back in on itself around her upper arms, similar to the Ember Celica.

Semblance: "Discharge". Violet can at will create a mild electrical effect from her body, sending a jolt of lighting into things she is touching (Most commonly Current Lines).

Dust Access: Some access to dust, although she doesn't rely on it nearly as much as most others do.

Alignment: Cupcakes

Backstory: Nothing particularly impressive or dramatic happened in the life of any of the Sparks before. A family of merchants who ran a local electronics store, they mostly stayed out of any sort of dangerous scene until Violet, aged 7, successfully fought off a couple of bullies who were attacking her elder sister. Considering that the bullies were four or five years older than her, this was considered a rather impressive feat, and Violet was signed up for combat lessons, eventually signing up to the local combat school when she was old enough. She developed her own weapon and personal style there, using the blades for when the enemy gets close and the grappling hooks not just for maneuverability, but also as whips, flails, and wires for her own electrical semblance. After graduating, she applied for, and successfully got into, Beacon Academy, moving to Vale to attend.

Violet is cheerful and single-minded, incredibly focused on one thing usually at the immense expense of everything else. Her eccentric outfit is due to her never paying attention to what she wears, and her hair comes from several accidents with her blades and semblance (which is known to start small fires when she's careless). When she's focused on something, she can have incredible insight into how to achieve that goal, provided you don't mind collateral damage or negative effects to other goals that you may have in mind. When unfocused, she tends to not follow conversations except for good times to make jokes.

You'll want to take this back to the drawing board. But if you have your heart set on it I can make it work.

Easiest way to make it work: have it chew up a huge amount of aura, so it's the sort of thing you can only pull out 3/4 times at most in an entire fight.
 
Gul Vulpes
Name: Gul Vulpes
Race: Fox Faunus
Country of Origin: Mantle
Appearance: Orange hair with color leaning more towards yellow. Fox ears. Is about 6 feet tall. Wears engraved metal armor, gauntlets, and greaves.
Weapon: Feint God. A combination of punt gun and giant warhammer. Name is an acronym of Fuck Everything In That General Direction. Has a grip to keep it level.
Semblance: Illusions. Partially solid and can fight in melee. Also useful for disguises.
Dust Access: Above average. He is good friends with some dust suppliers and can keep his gun stocked.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.
Backstory: A faunus who enrolled at Atlas and. He made friends and did enough favors for people in the Dust industry to get a lot of discounts. Is currently under watch because of an incident with a ruined bullhead. After said incident and other circumstances caused him to be transferred to Beacon.

Gul is realtively decent with people he considers friends, and responds to people he doesn't like with violence. He really enjoys snarking at people.
For reference, this how big a punt gun is.
