Who is actually the dragonborn? The title implies his siblings but he seems dead set on pinning it on Berry.

Probably Berry, given she can read the runes despite not having any knowledge of the language. The real test is eating the soul of a dead dragon though, which is really obvious in the games and everyone nearby acknowledges you as the dragonborn from killing Mirmulnir by the watch tower, so if Berry can do it there should be a light show and all that.

Why did he provoke the Dragon? Seemed a litte suicidal and not-very-well-thought-out.

Dragons that don't land are obnoxious to fight, even in game when they fly in mostly regular patterns. The guards don't have enough firepower to manage it, definitely, so if the Dragon stays in the air they'll probably burn the city down before they get hurt enough to run off. If they land, more people can engage at once.

As her name suggested, she fell down from the tree branches with a bellowing scream of "Sovngardeeeee!" and a downward thrust of a sword. She had a sword. Berry had come back, had come down from the tree branches of Gildergreen, and had stabbed the overgrown lizard right in the back.

I'm imagining the mounting animations from MH4U here. Let's hope she doesn't get shook off?

Too bad this isn't Dark Souls (III), or else Berry would have one-shotted that dragon with that plunging attack.

Always good to see Mirmulnir be acknowledged as one of the dragons that was actually capable of surviving the purge without help even if he probably gonna die soon.

You sure you're reading that title right, mate? It clearly states that his older siblings cannot be the dragonborn, if I'm reading it correctly.

I'm pretty sure that title stems from the disbelief factor, as in "I can't believe my older siblings are the dragonborn, it can't be true". Didn't this kind of title come from "My little sister cannot be this cute"?

This makes me wonder if there will ever be a crossover between the two, maybe throwing a Gore Magala into Skyrim.

"I'll have the blacksmith fashion some shackles," Willow said. "That should hold him back."
Please be a Yandere!

"Brother doesn't remember anything of the past? Not even the many times he played with Tsavi?" Tsavi asked, the Khajiit's ears flopping down as her eyes took on a sad gaze. Her whiskers were trembling too. If only she'd widen her eyes and grab a hat, she'd make the perfect booted cat, and just as I finished thinking that, her eyes did widen and a tiny wrangled meowing came out of her throat.
Willow may be Best Sister, but Tsavi is Best Imouto, even though she is older than Umbra.

"Kynareth," I said as I watched the dragon start to descend, flapping its wings as if to gain speed, "Kynareth please, if you exist, give me a sign. Anything right now would be appropriate. Anything." The dragon kept nearing, and as it did, my heart didn't simply drum, but nearly exploded from how fast it was beating. I wasn't just shaking. I was shaking so hard, it was probably beyond what mortals could see. "Kynareth!"

As I stared at the gleaming, angry eyes of Mirmulnir seconds before closing my own in the face of the incoming death, a wild Berry appeared.

As her name suggested, she fell down from the tree branches with a bellowing scream of "Sovngardeeeee!" and a downward thrust of a sword.
I have a feeling this is going to be a recurring theme, either Shade asking the gods for aid and having weird shit happen or Berry falling out of trees.
It's gotta be one or the other but I'm betting on Berry. :)

Sooooo I'm a little confused.

Well, nothing was really stopping the dragon from just staying in the air and blasting fire down on the city. As long as the dragon was up there then there really wasn't much to do.

However, given that Dragon's are arrogant and full of pride I think it was a rather sure bet to think that personally insulting him/her would at least force them to answer it face to face.

That's becuase Umbra is a fucking retard

Read the post above yours and think for a moment.

What reason did the dragon have to not just roast Whiterun from above?
None whatsoever.

How could Umbra make it possible for himself and others(mostly others) to fight the dragon directly?
Arrows weren't coming close, and he couldn't aim a ballista even if he had access to one. Even if he grabbed a ballista and landed a shot, if it didn't cripple the dragon it would've roasted him and the siege weapon before a second shot got off.

So... This story is really disturbing. These people are a family, they both love and have a history with their adopted younger brother who now has no memory of them and is blatantly treating everyone and everything as if it were a joke.

All of the characters except Umbra are acting like people, Umbra is acting like a self-insert character who treats everyone around him like NPCs in a video game.

It must be heartbreaking to see a member of your family go so completely insane.

So, offtopic, but has it come up yet that perhaps Umbra didn't lose his memories? That he's actually two people in one body? One, the OC, the other, the SI.

Like if he were possessed. By a Shade.

...

I'm not sorry.

Honestly, I get the feeling that Umbra and the SI are basically the exact same person. The only difference is the change in information. No one seems surprised by Sades eccentricities. All the little habits are the same.

I think that if Umbra still remembered his Elder Scrolls life then he would be identical beyond knowing that the gods and destiny are both a part of life.

Thinking about it that way makes it less horrifying, and more amusing. Its like Umbra is just slowly remembering who he is by experiencing his family, because there is no way his family will ever let him go and continue to forget them.

To me, it is a delightful sort of fluf

Ralvas might suspect something of the sort, given that he wouldn't mention what he thought was wrong.

So you're asserting that Umbra always acted like a late 90's early 00's self insert character?

Yup that's 100% it. I bet he had funky millennial glasses, and a baseball hat he wore backwards with his denim jacket too.

In all seriousness though, Elder Scrolls was made in that period by people from that period. They do not act like real world medieval people.

We have no idea how Umbra acted aside from what his siblings say, and his siblings seem to say that he acted like Shade.

Every member of his family is a weirdo. I don't doubt that being Shade is Umbras brand of weirdness. I wouldn't even be surprised if Umbra was originally born a Shade Si, and he genuinely is suffering amnesia now.

I can see why it would bother you. I was just hoping that an alternate perspective might make it more fun for you.

I'll stop bugging you now.
