She was torn from her thoughts when she spotted a unusually large gathering of snake-men and one of those Bull-men.
Finally, combat.
Feet planted on the ground, and spear hefted like a javelin, Lingqi threw the spear-turned-missile at the Bull's head. The projectile tore through the air like a demon out of hell, leaving a trail of smoke in its wake as it displaced air in the process.
With a shout of defiance and the strenght her family was famed for, Lingqi charged into the mass of soldiers, fully intending to beat the creatures up with her fists alone and uncaring for the fact that she was unarmed.
The group eventually came upon more enemies, stronger than the normal variety. One of them looked like a bull, larger and taller than the rest, armed with a club, while the others were two snake-like officers and a couple of regular troops.
The bull shouted, "I'll crush you and send your soul to the netherworld!"
Lu Lingqi struck, throwing her spear at the bull's head before charging in unarmed, shouting a war cry.
No words were needed. Now was the time to fight, and everyone was ready.
Nobunaga held his blade, the Demon Slayer, on his right hand, while he used his left hand to cast a dark barrier around himself and strengthen his sword with darkness. Afterwards, he joined the fray, mercilessly slashing left and right at the enemies before him.
"It is useless to resist me," he said.
Ranmaru charged his nodachi with energy, before slashing from left to right, sending a large crescent-shaped wave through the enemy ranks. He then dashed quickly, slashing at the nearest Orochi soldier, before engaging in combat with the rest.
The three other officers joined the battle as well, contributing their sword, spear and naginata to the fight.
Twirling his now lighting-charged tonfa, Chris lowered his body-posture before smashing the two ends of White Fang together, creating a small explosive sound rippling through air, like a declaration of him joining battle. Or it was just a bad habit and him trying to act cool like some sort of action movies's heroes.
"Let's see if you can entertain me better, shall we?" He smiled before the incoming onslaught of demon. It was a smile of an innocent maiden and yet a smile of a confident warrior before the ranks of the enemy.
With that, Chris kicked the ground and dashed forward. A spear-wielding demon ran toward him and stabbed the spear into the his forehead. The moment the spear about to pierce the skin, Chris disappeared from the demon's vision and before reappeared right at his side, and delivered a vicious left hook into his head with the left Fang.
Shakuchi-Reduced Earth, or perhaps more commonly known as flash step, rather than some mystical power to teleport, it was more of a martial art technique. Using a combination of speeding up his movement in short burst with mana, and purposely aiming for blind spot, it was an effective skill for close range combat, allowed the user to step into the striking range of his enemy and deliver the blow.
"Too slow."
With that whispered comment, he plunged forward toward the enemy's rank, jumped onto an enemy shoulder before twisted his body. The lightning-covered tonfa shrieked through the air as Chris used his mana to continue his spin, turning into a human tornado, smashing through the demon's ranks with ease.
Standing up from the smoking corpses of his enemies, Chris looked at the woman leading the attack. It looked like she had already finished a whole group and now engaged with the large bull demon. As he musing continued, a pair demon ran toward him and slashed him from two side. Of course, that didn't escape his vision, lowered his body to evade the blows, he moved to forward and performed a roundhouse kick into the left demon's head, sent him crashing into the fellow soldier. Without any delay, he pulled the trigger on the White Fangs. The explosive sound like a lighting strike reverberated through the corridor as the bolts of lightning ripping through the air and blowing a hole through both of the demon's chest.
At that moment, he caught sight of human behind the enemy's rank, just behind the Bull Demon. Black hair, Asian, likely late teens, probably younger than Chris himself a bit, noticeably wearing a modern white jacket. Perhaps someone from the same era as him being spirited here?
With that question, he ran toward the bull demon along side Lingqi.
"Miss Lu, please be careful. There's someone behind that thing!"
