Maybe I'll change your mind when we get to the big fights near the end of A&T?
Though you can credit The 2nd Try with being one of the fics that reignited my interest in Eva while I was bored in Afghanistan, and got me to start writing my own.

I followed MFE until the big hiatus, then lost track of it. I've been meaning to get back to it and resume.... but I've kind of spoiled myself be seeing too much of the ending here as you posted it.
....and I'm sad to say the A/K is really a buzzkill for me. It's stupid, I know, since they're all very different people here, but it always sticks with me that they never met at all in Series, and had one brief meeting in the Manga where Asuka hated Kaworu for being there to replace her and make her useless. S/R I can see done well, though I'm sure you can guess which I prefer, but A/K is just... I can't get canon out of my head.

In any case, I still do intend to finish up a proper reading of MFE, but that means starting from the beginning, since I've forgotten or mixed up half of what I remember from the fist time during the hiatus. Be seeing you, Ultra Sonic 007

In the meanwhile, a reader on FF.net is apparently making an omake about Shinji's time in Okayama-2, so I'll be reposting that once he's done.
 
Just finished. Not much to say other than I really like how you handled Kaworu. Most of the time if he has any role beyond as the 17th Angel he pretty much hijacks the plot either as a/the final threat (replacing SEELE/Gendo) or as a new faction in the dueling conspiracies game. Having him be a wildcard who is none-the-less totally outclassed by the real threat was new.
 
Thank you for this story. I started reading it a long time ago, and dropped it due to life.

I'm glad I found the link of SV and started anew.

Oddly enough, Pen Pen caught my eye as my favourite character. It was the Misato was talking to somebody about her problems trusting Kaji. And Kaji says he played for days against him. And his farewell scene with Misato, brilliant.

I guess its obvious that Gendo is another favourite in this fic. Both for the bombastic exploits, and his recovering humanity.

I'm not much for fights or physics/tech explanations. So not making Shinji the Hero Protagonist was welcome.

And the ending remains superb; one of the best Eva fic endings I've ever read.
 
Thank you for this story.

It was well written, and since I started it after you finished it I got to ready the whole thing at once.

Your characters were well fleshed out, your action scenes were brilliant, and the plot was fantastic.

Also, as an Australian, I loved how you actually managed to make our wildlife MORE deadly :)

Keep up the EXCELLENT work in the future!
