Megaman Legends Beta Quest

Robot I
Robot

And then your time of quiet and peace is interrupted by a giant robot attacking. Is it a Reaverbot? Then why it is attacking the city?

Like a hero of a manga or anime, your clothes change back into armor. Sadly you left your shield at home.

Then before you know what you are doing you start to shot at the robot to catch it's attention and lead it away from the city.

Please roll a 3d10 dice, best of three.

uh wait we roll too?

Ah whatever, taking this roll.

Thankfully the suposed Reaperbot takes the bait and follows you. It also doesn't seem to have any weapons save for it's hands. You regret not having activated the misterious Charge Shot ability since this would be the ideal kind of enemy to practice it on.

As it is is a long game of Cat and Mouse, with the Cat smashing things and the Mouse fighting a battle of a thousand cuts. You are lucky your Armor gives you heightened reflexes and speed or one bad move and you would be dead. You almost wish it was the police chasing you instead!

Finally after a wooping two hours the Robot finally stops function and explodes. Your armor might take care of the sweat and grime, but you are exausted.

>Faint

>Don't faint! Roll a 1d10 for willpower!

>Faint and dream

Robot III
You try your best to avoid fainting but you are just too damn tired and fall down right there.

You awake ten hours later, still in the same place. Thankfully no one tried to scavenge the robot while you were unconcious. You recover a big Quantum Refractor from it and some parts. Thanks to your armor you are able to carry everything back to your ship.

While normally you would save the Quantum Refractor for a rainy day you instead let the Armor eat it. Yet you don't unlock the Charge Shot ability.

"Bastard." You say glaring at your armor then use your anger to improve your ship with the savaged parts.

After that you have breakfast since you sleep till the next day and wonder what to do. You check your Computer, Tron didn't leave you any mensages so...

> Go bug Miss Bonne in person, you feel lonely.

> Go to a desert island to explore. With your new ship upgrades you can make it alone.

>Go to town and find out if there is any reward for destroying that robot, you aren't a wanted criminal on this island after all.

Is a good thing you aren't a wanted criminal on this island, that got the ridiculous name of Archive Island because of some relatively safe ruins that have been explored to hell and back that contained the equivalent of an ancient kid friendly public library.

You remember when you were five you and Grandpa-

STOP!

Don't go there, not now, not after such a big fight, just go there, see if there is any reward money and go back to your ship... boat whatever.

You use your best perfume and make sure to look your best, then walk back to town at a leisure pace.

A policewoman looks at you suspiciously but then groans and ask you to go to town hall with her for your reward.

You get 10.000 Zenny!

You don't get a medal or a recommendation because of your bad reputation as a thief, but who needs those anyway?

With that much money you immediately save half of it for a rainy day, then decide to expend the rest.

*You got 5.000 Zenny, please use them wisely! But wait, what's your armor doing? You guess it calculated the chances of you being able to pick the same option again if you ever get that much Zenny once more. Not bad!*

> Laptop here I go! 3.500 Zenny, includes extra battery. Has the advantage of being portable but is a tad expensive.[Common]

> ESU-Standard, 4.000 Zenny: An ESU is an Energy Storage Unit, just plug it and let it charge until is full. Can fully repair your armor in an emergency but takes three days to recharge each time. Is reusable and lasts about six to ten years of regular use. [Rare]

> Food here I go! 1500 Zenny: Is food, you eat it to stay healthy and alive, with 1.500 Zenny you can buy enough for a month and you still have those horrible tasting energy bars for after that. [Common]

> Deluxe Energy Bars, 800 Zenny: If you want to save money you can live just with energy bars instead. These one taste a tad bland but at least are way better than the horrible energy bars you eat regularly. [Common]

> Ship Weapon, 5.000 Zenny: Evidently they won't actually sell you that, but you can use the money to finally give your ship a fighting chance! You really want this, but is the right choice?[Very Rare]

> Quantum Refractors Box, 4.500 Zenny: A box full of Quantum Refractors that will go right into feeding your stupidly amazing armor. [Common]

AN: The giant robot fight could have gone easier, it could have gone harder. Trusting your armor have you an increase in durability and you actually got a good roll. With the (Charge Shot) and that roll it would have gone way faster but you guys decided to trigger a Boss fight without going to level up first. I hope we can actually finally go exploring after this, but damn you Roll, you are a Digger and a Thief! Go to a Dig site or to steal something already.

Some extra info:

|Medals|: Only avaliable if you had picked the path of the Hero. They give an increase in good reputation, gain enough of them and people start to give you discounts everywhere save in the Black Market that you cannot access as the Hero anyway. To compensate, it also increases the chances of bad guys wanting to fight you.

|Recommendation|: Available for both the Hero and Mercenary paths, these help while on the island that have you one, as it means the Mayor trusts you. They give discounts and make people and the police threat you with respect.

|Thieves Guild|: Only available in the Thief path. Is the place were you can talk shop with other thieves, buy Black Market stuff, get jobs to steal something and eat at the Cafe with a 10% discount.

|Mercenary Guild|: What the Thieves Guild would be if it was legal. Only available for Mercenaries and the Cafe only gives you a 5% discount.

|The Rival|: Had you picked the Hero or Mercenary path, Tron would be one of these. In the Thief path, even if you won't admit it, she basically took a big sister role when you lost your family. Only both of your prides and big egos prevent you for officialy become family.

You currently don't have any rivals as you are not famous enough as a Thief.

|The Antagonist|: This one is the option you didn't pick to be when choosing between two characters. In this case you will have to deal with a Megaman in the Legends sence, have fun!

|Background events|: Even if you do nothing, things happen that you aren't aware of yet. For example who was in Tron's ship with her?

|Help|: You don't have to do things in your own but help isn't free. For example, when working with Tron she only gives you 30% of the profits, but you will have any reasonable resources you need during the mission. And is only that much because you are way better at destroying Reaperbots than she is.
And because she sees you as a little sister.

While a Laptop or real food sounds tempting, so does making it so your ship has some firepower. Unfortunately you can't take your ship inside ruins, and a Laptop and real food are not really necessary. So you decide to buy the Deluxe Energy Bars and the ESU-Standard. Since the energy storage unit isn't sold fully recharged, you will only be able to use it in about three days.

Since Archive Island have you reward money, you don't feel like stealing here. So you could finally head to a another island to steal something, go to some ruins for exploration or just be lazy and take the day off.

> Be lazy and relax.

> Another island, here I go for your valuable things!

> I am a Digger, let's dig accient stuff!

You feel like it has been weeks since your last dig, but with the ship as ready as it can be without sinking a lot of cash in it, your armor upgraded and actually having food that's less horrible than usual, you feel ready to go at it again.

Your travel to the nearest dig site is calm and without problems, and after three days of sailing, because you cannot afford a flying ship, your reach your destination.

Reaper Island, a place so full of Reaperbots it's mostly avoided. And a place you would not even go near if it wasn't because of your awesome armor.

If anything else you can get small Quantum Refractors from the Reaperbots you destroy to feed your armor, since their trade value is pitiful and you aren't hungering for cash.

*Now, how will you do this?*

>Energy Collector, kill a lot of surface Reaperbots first so you feed your armor and avoid energy problems later. After all surface Reaperbots are weak!

> Sneak, like the Thief you are.

> Frontal assault, take the most direct route and destroy anything foolish enough to get in your path.
