"Be careful you two," Alexis said with a frown, "It's dangerous out there."
I nodded, "I know. We will be."
Alexis frowned at me and then looked over at Zrazta, "Make sure he doesn't do something stupider than normal?"
Zrazta smiled and nodded, "We will be fine."
I glowered at Alexis, "Why does everyone say that!?"
Alexis smiled at me, "Because you have the ability to stumble into trouble, no matter if you want to or not."
I growled at her, "I could eat you, you know."
Smiling, Alexis reached up to pat my cheek, "No you wouldn't. You are a big bunny and you know it."
Sighing, I gave her a quick hug, "You could at least pretend to be scared in front of my consort," I grumbled as she hugged back before I let go. Zrazta looked very amused about the entire thing.
Alexis grinned and gathered the dragoness in another hug, "Just be careful."
Zrazta nodded with a smile, before she frowned, "You too. These people… dangerous. Things could go very wrong if you are discovered."
I looked around the forest clearing as Alexis nodded,
"I know, I don't think things are quite so bad, but I'm careful."
I doublechecked that I had everything stashed away in my bag before I turned to Zrazta, "We should get going," and I stepped back to turn back to my real form, spreading my wings.
Walking up and putting her soulstone in one of my bags, packing her satchel in as well before starting to undress to put her clothes away to keep them from being obliterated, "There have to be a better way to travel."
"I tried to figure one out with the ship. I'll get back on that when we return to the Tower."
Zrazta frowned and walked up to bop my nose, "No working, both our flight leaders said so!"
I glared at her, "It's not work if it's fun!"
"Atreus, you need to slow down and you know it. Spend time with us," she said, resting her hand on my snout, "We miss you. I know you try, but you need to delegate more."
"I am!"
"I mean more than simply letting someone else handle the research teams. Let someone else handle the running of things, Maybe Kalecgos or Sheila or somebody can do it. Maybe just do what you enjoy, the traveling and your own research?"
I frowned and bumped my nose against her shoulder, "I… I'll think of what I can drop. I still have to make the deliveries, but…"
Zrazta nodded, scratching behind my nosehorn, "Just think about it before we get back? I think Kalecgos is going to need an answer then."
I nodded and then turned my head to look at Alexis, "Take care, Alexis. Come visit?"
She nodded, "…Sure. But I wish you and Ren would become more aware about the entire clothes thing, Zrazta."
"Huh?" Zrazta asked and blinked, "But we are both female and there is nobody else around. Isn't that how things work?"
Alexis rubbed her eyes, "...You know what, forget it. Ask Sheila, I'm not touching this."
I just chuckled and put my nose against Zrazta's shoulder, "Hang on and we'll get going."
Zrazta nodded and gave Alexis a wave before putting her arms around my neck as I closed my eyes and focused on my magic and my golden Spark, feeding it my magic as I concentrated.
There were both pros and cons to the way I did it.
Alexis needed to go running, in a forest was easiest, but sooner or later if she focused on it, reality would shatter and she would be in the Blind Eternities. When she arrived at her location, she would be tired, sure, but she would have all her magic.
But she couldn't Walk anytime she wanted, she needed those circumstances.
I didn't. I could Walk anytime I wanted, it just took a little bit. But on the other hand, I had to feed my Spark all my magic. When I arrived at the other end, I would be not only tired form the Blind Eternities, I would also not have any mana free to defend or attack.
Which mean that it was a lot safer to Walk in my real form. Despite all my gadgets built into my humanoid armour, in my real form I was still a Dragon. And a Dragon wearing custom magical power armour at that.
If that wasn't enough to defend myself well enough to get away, my somewhat limited ability to cast spells wouldn't help overly much.
Of course, problem would arise if I landed in a human village or something. I'm just waiting for the time I Walk into a new plane and end up at the market square, midday and crush some poor bastards cabbage stand.
I opened my eyes and reality shattered and I was surrounded by solid thoughts and fleeting matter. Thoughts formed, fought and lived before never having existed, flitting back and forth in the howling smells and sounds of uncreation. It buffeted at me, pulling me up/down.
Orienting yourself in the Blind Eternities were always difficult, but I twisted/stood still before moving towards/away the right direction to get to Kurani. It was too close/too far away to get there in one Step thought that there would be no way for us to get there.
Where to stop?
I didn't know any of these Planes, there could be anything there. Need to hurry too, won't be able to stay here too long.
There, that one.
Reaching out, I touched the little infinitely large dot.
