I pinched the bridge of my nose, "Wait, let's see if I got this right? The Goblins keep rebelling from time to time, getting smacked back down and forced back into the tunnels where they keep the Wizard's money safe in return for not being wiped out? Centaurs and merfolk and multiple other species are kept suppressed to reservations. 'House Elves' are a literal slave race that sound like it have some kind of subservient blood curse on it to keep them in their place. Am I missing something?"

Alexis sighed and crossed her arms, "Muggles… non-magical people are looked down on as quaint and primitive and have very little rights in the magical world. The existence of magic is kept hidden if somebody discover it with a mix of mind altering spells and memory wipes."

"Oh great, we are living with the bad guys."

Alexis shook her head, "I'm not overly happy about any of that either. But it's Earth, my home. I need to learn as much about this place as I can, as much about this magic as I can," she said before she frowned at me, "By the way, I have visited your places. How is it different from having mortal worshippers and dragonkin?"

Zrazta scowled at her, "They chose. Nobody forces them to serve."

Sighing, Alexis nodded, "Sorry. Didn't mean anything by it, I don't like this either."

Shaking my head, I got up and stretched, "Anyway, going to be a long day tomorrow, we should get some sleep. "

Zrazta got up, nodding in agreement, "Traveling is tiring enough as it is."

"Don't I know it, " Alexis said with a smile, "Just don't leave without saying goodbye."

"Wouldn't dream of it."

The trip from her office to the visitor's quarters was not very long. Nor was their destination very big, this was a school after all. But there was a bed and a window and a bathroom. Stone floors and walls.

Not the best place in the world, but honestly, I have stayed at worse places and paid for the privilege so complaining would be stupid. Besides, the bed was nice.

Casting a quick spell to light the candles around the room, Zrazta walked up to look out the open window into the night below.

I let my illusion drop and unstrapped my chest armour, putting it on the floor by the bed before I walked up to join her, "So… where to next?"

Zrazta blinked and glanced back at me as I put my hand on her shoulder, "Huh? I thought we were going to Kaladesh."

"We don't have to," I answered with a smile, "We could go exploring or visit any of the other Planes. Anything you wish."

She smiled and shifted to lean back against me and I slipped my arms around her, "I don't know. Maybe…"

"Hmh?"

She turned to look up at me, "What of the Kurani?"

I smiled at her, "The elves that saved me? We can go there, I could introduce them to you." It would be nice to see them again actually. See if I could thank them properly, I owed them so much for what they did for me.

Zrazta nodded, "Yes. I would like to thank them for bringing you back to us."

"Mmm," I agreed and stole a quick kiss, "Me too."

Smiling, she turned back around, looking out the window, "This Plane was… interesting. Different than I thought."

"Different than I thought too," I sighed and put my cheek against the side of her head, "I never thought there were anything like this here. Never even suspected."

"I don't think Alexis did either."

"Mmm. Then to find out that the people here were so like…"

Zrazta nodded and frowned at the forest in the distance, "Human."

"Hmm?"

"You have not noticed? Humans in my experience try to control or kill what they can't control," she said and glanced up and back at me, "Remember how careful we had to be not to be discovered here?"

I shook my head, "I think you underestimate humans, love. We know many humans that are not like that," before I smiled, "I'm reminded of a quote, 'A person is smart. People are stupid panicky animals.'."

She frowned in thought, "…I suppose that make sense. Humans are kind of herd animals."

"…Tribe beings, but you understand what I mean. Anything outside the group can be dangerous and something unknown can be even more so."

"You aren't like that."

I smiled, "I'm also not human. I was, once, but very little of what I was then remain. I'm dragon now."

"Mmm. So, you are."

I grinned down at her and growled softly, "Indeed," and took her hand, sliding the ring keeping the illusion causing her to look human off, allowing the spell to fade away.

And Harry and his auror pals are treated to the sight of sentient dragons banging.

Good thing they have memory charms.

Although if they decide to burst out now and cockblock Atregos then they are probably going to have a bad time.

When asked why Harry, and Ron were drinking Fire Whiskey straight from the bottle, the told Tom, "Never interupt Dragons in Coitus."

Good thing they have memory charms.

"Recordum-s."

"Be careful you two," Alexis said with a frown, "It's dangerous out there."

I nodded, "I know. We will be."

Alexis frowned at me and then looked over at Zrazta, "Make sure he doesn't do something stupider than normal?"

Zrazta smiled and nodded, "We will be fine."

I glowered at Alexis, "Why does everyone say that!?"

Alexis smiled at me, "Because you have the ability to stumble into trouble, no matter if you want to or not."

I growled at her, "I could eat you, you know."

Smiling, Alexis reached up to pat my cheek, "No you wouldn't. You are a big bunny and you know it."

Sighing, I gave her a quick hug, "You could at least pretend to be scared in front of my consort," I grumbled as she hugged back before I let go. Zrazta looked very amused about the entire thing.

Alexis grinned and gathered the dragoness in another hug, "Just be careful."

Zrazta nodded with a smile, before she frowned, "You too. These people… dangerous. Things could go very wrong if you are discovered."

I looked around the forest clearing as Alexis nodded,

"I know, I don't think things are quite so bad, but I'm careful."

I doublechecked that I had everything stashed away in my bag before I turned to Zrazta, "We should get going," and I stepped back to turn back to my real form, spreading my wings.

Walking up and putting her soulstone in one of my bags, packing her satchel in as well before starting to undress to put her clothes away to keep them from being obliterated, "There have to be a better way to travel."

"I tried to figure one out with the ship. I'll get back on that when we return to the Tower."

Zrazta frowned and walked up to bop my nose, "No working, both our flight leaders said so!"

I glared at her, "It's not work if it's fun!"

"Atreus, you need to slow down and you know it. Spend time with us," she said, resting her hand on my snout, "We miss you. I know you try, but you need to delegate more."

"I am!"

"I mean more than simply letting someone else handle the research teams. Let someone else handle the running of things, Maybe Kalecgos or Sheila or somebody can do it. Maybe just do what you enjoy, the traveling and your own research?"

I frowned and bumped my nose against her shoulder, "I… I'll think of what I can drop. I still have to make the deliveries, but…"

Zrazta nodded, scratching behind my nosehorn, "Just think about it before we get back? I think Kalecgos is going to need an answer then."

I nodded and then turned my head to look at Alexis, "Take care, Alexis. Come visit?"

She nodded, "…Sure. But I wish you and Ren would become more aware about the entire clothes thing, Zrazta."

"Huh?" Zrazta asked and blinked, "But we are both female and there is nobody else around. Isn't that how things work?"

Alexis rubbed her eyes, "...You know what, forget it. Ask Sheila, I'm not touching this."

I just chuckled and put my nose against Zrazta's shoulder, "Hang on and we'll get going."

Zrazta nodded and gave Alexis a wave before putting her arms around my neck as I closed my eyes and focused on my magic and my golden Spark, feeding it my magic as I concentrated.

There were both pros and cons to the way I did it.

Alexis needed to go running, in a forest was easiest, but sooner or later if she focused on it, reality would shatter and she would be in the Blind Eternities. When she arrived at her location, she would be tired, sure, but she would have all her magic.

But she couldn't Walk anytime she wanted, she needed those circumstances.

I didn't. I could Walk anytime I wanted, it just took a little bit. But on the other hand, I had to feed my Spark all my magic. When I arrived at the other end, I would be not only tired form the Blind Eternities, I would also not have any mana free to defend or attack.

Which mean that it was a lot safer to Walk in my real form. Despite all my gadgets built into my humanoid armour, in my real form I was still a Dragon. And a Dragon wearing custom magical power armour at that.

If that wasn't enough to defend myself well enough to get away, my somewhat limited ability to cast spells wouldn't help overly much.

Of course, problem would arise if I landed in a human village or something. I'm just waiting for the time I Walk into a new plane and end up at the market square, midday and crush some poor bastards cabbage stand.

I opened my eyes and reality shattered and I was surrounded by solid thoughts and fleeting matter. Thoughts formed, fought and lived before never having existed, flitting back and forth in the howling smells and sounds of uncreation. It buffeted at me, pulling me up/down.

Orienting yourself in the Blind Eternities were always difficult, but I twisted/stood still before moving towards/away the right direction to get to Kurani. It was too close/too far away to get there in one Step thought that there would be no way for us to get there.

Where to stop?

I didn't know any of these Planes, there could be anything there. Need to hurry too, won't be able to stay here too long.

There, that one.

Reaching out, I touched the little infinitely large dot.

So, HP consequences delayed until the next visit?
Seems so. To be honest, Alexis is probably going to regret getting that involved with those HP wizards. Really, not 'remembering' to contact family? Not even for a 'sorry, going to be away for a few weeks, take care?' kind of thing. Suspicious. Very suspicious. Sounds like some kind of 'forget the muggle world' background enchantment to me.

Just going poof when the local police wants to talk is an option, of course, but probably won't endear Atreus & co to the local maf... poli... combined military and police force, also known as the Auror corps if they decide to come back later. Might have been a good idea anyway, of course.

...Cabbage stand eh?

Cabbage stands everywhere: Beware! Beware!! Dooooooom approaches...
If that is a hint/fate temptation that ATLA is next up (or somewhere down the line, at least), he's going to come back with 2 new forms of magic, and everyone will just give him a look when he swears he was trying to relax on his vacation.

And if so, Avatar will make... at least 6? distinctly different styles of 'magic'/energy manipulation that Atregos and the rest will be aware of: Azerothian, MtG/Colored/Land, Elder Scrolls, Guild Wars, Harry Potter, and then Avatar. Diablo might count, though the only thing exceptional there was the translation ring I think. And maybe Witcher, though aside from the existence of said being the dragon hasn't seen anything when he was there.

Ah, so fate/Destiny bending.

with enough practice that could be rather useful...

i.e "it was fate that sent that thief over that hill, through the brambles, the spider webs and the pigsty"
You mean, a Sidereal?

That would be interesting in its own way, but he can't be one. He's not human. ;)

please tell me they picked up a multi compartment trunk to see if something or someone could travel the blind eternities in one and not die
