[X] Look for the hawk sword.
[x] Take a Palean breastplate.
[X] Look for the fancy Raigi armour.
[x] Take a jar of... what is that? A jar of something.
[X] Look for the ivory hatchet.
[X] Look for some nice clothes.
[X] Take a wheel of cheese.
[X] Take a coil of rope and climbing gear.
[X] Take a book.
[X] Look for an officer's uniform.
[X] Take a Palean glaive.
[X] Take a scout's tent and bedroll.
[X] Take a mysterious sealed powder horn.
You set about taking everything that you can set your hands on. You lay out one of the neatly packed scout tents and start bundling your new belongings into it. A dog-eared book catches your eye, a small wheel of cheese about the size of your head, a mysterious jar from the provisions section, a spare winglord's uniform that looks about your size, these are all snatched from the shelves and thrown on the growing pile.
You investigate a stack of small paper-wrapped packages and find that they contain hard bars of lye soap. Thinking that it might be handy for later, you pocket one and move on.
At the back of the room there is a chest that seems to have collected miscellaneous valuables to be converted into ready money for the legion at some future time. You rifle through it in the half-light. Your hands brush against the weave of an incredibly fine, silky fabric. You take up several pieces and bundle them together, you will have time to examine them later. A pair of nice boots that look about your size are an obvious choice. You also pick out a small rams-horn flask, like those used to store spices or medicine. Worth a try.
Stashed to the side of the chest, almost lost among curios and candlesticks, is the Raigi hatchet that you caught on the beach. Perfect.
HAWK SWORD: My lady! My lady, I'm up here!
"Shh! You'll give us away." you hiss back. You take the sabre from its hook at the back of the shed and tuck it into your tunic's cord belt.
What next? Some armour. You find the scale hauberk and gauntlets you were wearing yesterday and set them on the pile, wrapped in the quilted fabric of the bedroll to muffle its jingling. You almost consider leaving it at that before spotting a full set of Palean gear, minus arbalest and pavisse. You set the gleaming helmet, breastplate and greaves on top of the pile of loot, and after some experimentation, knot the whole thing together with the heavy glaive as a stick on which to carry it. You lash the package with a coil of rope.
What now? Oh, right, you need to get out through the roof.
It is as you realize that you have an enormous amount of gear prepared and no real way to carry it out of here that you hear the sound of voices from outside and your heart is frozen by the sound of a chain jangling and someone fiddling with a bolt on the other side of the shed door. You have only moments to act.
You can lift this pile of gear, but it won't be quick or quiet, and it will be very difficult to get out without being seen. It will be much easier to just cut and run, taking only the hawk sword and leaving evidence of your failed larceny behind. Alternatively you could try to talk your way out of this, or find a hiding place and wait for a better chance.
[ ] Abandon your pile of loot and escape through the roof.
[ ] Attempt to carry your loot out through the hole in the roof.
[ ] Stay where you are and prepare to bluff your way out of this.
[ ] Hide in the storeroom and wait for an opportunity.
