You step out of the doctor's office and march down the hall, digging out your phone as you go. You select Homura's number from your contacts list and hit dial, silently praying that she'll pick up as you press the phone to your ear.
The phone rings twice, before someone on the other end picks up. "Hello?"
You sag in relief at the sound of your little sister's voice. "Homura! Thank goodness. Where are you? Are you okay? What happened? They said you just disappeared from the hospital, and I-"
"Who is this?" the girl on the other end cuts in. That... is not a tone you've ever heard Homura use before. Suspicion and hostility is just so at odds with the adorable moeblob you know that you stop talking in shock.
"...Homura?" you ask, confused.
"Don't call this number again," is the only response you receive before the line goes dead.
You stare at your phone for a moment, and then you're moving. By the time you reach your care you've traces the call backwards to pinpoint her location. She's at the train station.
It take you barely five minutes to get there, incredibly fast by Tokyo standards, but still far too slow for your liking. You park and bail out, looking around for your missing sibling.
You spot her, standing at the platform waiting for a train. (Part of you notes that it's the train going to Mitakihara.)
Her posture's different, more assured and forceful than the Homura you know. She's wearing her hair down, free of it's signature braids, and she's missing her glasses, but it's still undeniably your Homura.
