If so, can we force Sachiko to do some extra academic stuff? Like look up the validity of claims or something? We really need to boost her academics because a Knight needs more than to be just a sword for killing. Otherwise, you may as well just be a mercenary and not a knight.

Heartmender only gives out lump-sums, so I don't think he's the most useful of candidates. We do have pretty decent reserves at the time, and with the semester-change coming up we want more income so we can hire more teachers.

Do recall that this opion has a -50 Diplomacy malus and might make Lillymist want to be paid more. I think it would be better to save this for once we've become more established.

This is not a bad idea at all and also benefits Necromancy once we start teaching that, but could we maybe squeeze in a workshop as well?
Talking from a strictly mechanical standpoint, a workshop would benefit more classes than a restricted library, cost less time and not convince overbearing parents we are trying to corrupt their youth.

Fixed, replaced the research project with raising wards.

On the other hand lump sums help greatly with getting facilities up, and we got big gaps there. It'd be easier to get favorable sponsorships once we finish the fencing competition.

Plus, we can hire above our income if we got a big enough lump sum in the till, as long as we don't keep that up too long.

Not married to the lump sum though! If there's enough support I'd probably drop the rumor listening action and sword research to go for Thadius Black.

I do think Thadius Black would be a relatively easy sell. By being a low-tuition school in a hard-to-reach area, we provide artists the chance of formal training where they previously did not. And if he wants evidence that it works, we can show him some samples of Glimmer's work.

I took a look at their stats, and it would appear that Lillymist provides a better Might and Finesse bonus, in addition to the fact that we know she's fought monsters and won before. Shantae gives smaller boosts to Finesse and Might, and we don't know what fighting experience she's had in the past.

While Lillymist is the better fighter, we've established that she prefers research to combat and teaching. After the past efforts in getting some mutual understanding, letting her pursue her area of interest would be helpful first.

Partially, I'm thinking of it as a bonding experience(think of it as a minor social action for every teacher on the job, for us to personally join the hunt, and also to show the students and their parents that we take this monster threat seriously.

Better to overcommit than to undercommit here after all.
