Well, perhaps it would have been more reasonable to approach at another time, but knowing Momoka, it was probably the right choice. She is the kind of person who can loudly and pompously declare her desire to reunite with friends, but then avoid them for months.

I thought the implication was that the other Momoka's world also had another Homura looping, but Momoka was then lost in the void and rescued by a parallel Godoka. The implication being this Homura is a different Homura from the one that knew the other Momoka.

To clarify, by 'unique', I mean in the sense that Homura hasn't encountered Momoka in the past through her loops, a la canon.
The fact that Madoka dreamed of Homura means that she has already rewinded time. There are two main options: Rebellion and non-Rebellion. If this is Rebellion, then this explains why Godoka doesn't remember anything about the loops that have already passed. If this isn't Rebellion, then simply Homura's power shouldn't affect Godoka, which means that Momoka becomes Godoka's MG for the first time since the beginning of the loops.
By the way, because of Momoka's games with causality, she should not be any different from the original Momoka that Homura met in her first loop. The reason is that the witch who caused the meeting of Momoka and Godoka NEVER existed. 🤯 In the end, I don't understand anything. My bet is that Momoka from past loops wasn't related to Godoka. She became MG along with the others and lost to Walpurgis. Or alternatively Godoka was very cruel to Timeline-chan and she is now crying somewhere in the corner. And Momoka really appeared only in this loop.

Well, perhaps it would have been more reasonable to approach at another time, but knowing Momoka, it was probably the right choice. She is the kind of person who can loudly and pompously declare her desire to reunite with friends, but then avoid them for months.
Don't worry, next post will cover how the promised meeting with Kyouko/Mami went since it's relevant to why Momoka would even be willing to speak to Homura at all!

Update: Post is coming along, sorry things have slowed down a bit. My birthday is coming up and a buddy of mine came down to visit over the weekend. Not dead! Post will likely be out tomorrow or the next day.

Episode 6 - 4

Once the crowd cleared, you would talk to her.

You clenched your hands as your eyes darted from the crowd near Homura's desk to the floor. It shouldn't be any different from talking to a regular person.

Of course, you knew the truth. Homura was important. Too important to screw up a first meeting with. She was important to the sister at your back, and would be important to the sister at your side.

You needed to speak to her as soon as possible.

You think back to Sayaka throwing you into the deep end. There was no plan, no recourse. It was do or die. The only help you got was some half-hearted encouragement and a piece of advice. Advice that went unheard, your ears deafened by self-doubt.

Advice that was important all the same.

You would never know until you tried.

A theory you tested just a few days after your second meeting with Kyouko had been erased. You ventured back to where it all started. Holding your head high, you ventured through the familiar scenery.

The arcade.

You went there day after day, night after night.

You went to school, trained, arcade, hunted for witches. It was routine. Each day felt longer than the last. Nothing changed, but you persevered. Determination pushes you forward.

Then the scene came forth as if it were a dream.

There, as jumpy as the day you saw her, was Kyouko dancing. The screen lit up with lights and blasted with a shrill beat. A cat meowing. Momo stood in awe, her arms hanging over the bars behind Kyouko. Mami stood with her hands on Momo's shoulders, giving a supportive smile.

You walked forward to fulfill the promise to yourself.

Whether or not things would be the same, you wouldn't know.

You greeted your old friends with a smile, ready to make new memories. Memories you didn't want erased with friends you didn't want to lose.

You didn't want the only bond you had to be as flimsy as being a magical girl. It was the same worry you had with Homura. If she was as important as you thought, then it was a needless worry. Maybe by some miracle, she would keep her memories. If her power was to turn back time, maybe it was a possibility.

Even if it was a hail mary, it was still an earnest wish.

"Well, Madoka," Sayaka says with a grin. "If you want to talk to her, now's your chance. The crowd's clearing."

"Uh, well…" Madoka hesitates, averting her eyes. "I don't want to bother her."

"I don't know, she seems kind of used to this," Sayaka frowns, placing a hand over her eyes.

"I don't think she would mind, Madoka," Hitomi offers her input.

Your sister puts her attention back onto the desk. She fidgets with her notebook, averting eye contact. She was nervous. You couldn't blame her. Her dream was probably still haunting her. Still, you couldn't stand idly by while nothing happened. You already made the decision to speak to her.

You take a deep breath.

"Well, if you won't say anything, then I guess I have to." You say, sitting up from your seat.

"M-momo?" Madoka blinks, clasping her notebook in her hand.

"Man, going up on your own? And I didn't have to push you this time," Sayaka leans back in her seat. "They grow up so fast."

"Sayaka, don't be rude," Hitomi reprimands.

"Hey, it was a compliment," Sayaka laughs.

Your heart's beat echoes in your ears. Sayaka's banter slowly fades into the background. You step forward.

One step after another.

Just walk toward Homura's desk.

She was just another person. That's all she was. Another person. Just talk to her like you would anyone else. Remember, you've been through way worse.

You've met quite a few people. Saying hello was honestly the easy part. This shouldn't be any different.

It shouldn't be any different.

That's right.

Saying hi was easy.

But you'd inevitably have to say good-bye.

You had to leave the others behind, but you reunited. It's why you avoid them when erasing witches. You didn't want that taken away. Even if it was a slight fear, you didn't want to lose them.

You breathe in.

You take another step.

You would have to say good-bye.

No, you couldn't say good-bye.

They would never remember you to begin with.

There was nothing to remember.

You breathe out.

You take another step.

Thoughts race forward, halting your advance.

You wouldn't lose anyone else. Not now, not ever.

"Not again," you mumble under your breath.

"Excuse me?"

The voice snaps you to attention.

"Oh!" You blink, staring at the source of the voice. "I'm sorry, I, uh… blanked out for a second."

It was Homura Akemi. Her eyes were narrowed, her head slightly tilted. Her braid was dangling in the air just over her shoulder.

"Are you alright?" She says, a slight smile on her face.

"No," you say with a frown. "No, I'm-- no, I mean I'm fine. I'm good, actually."

"Are you sure?" she frowns.

Something about this felt off.

The Homura of the other Madoka's memory didn't have a braid, did she? It's been so long since you've seen it, you hardly remember.

"A-anyway, I'm Momoka," you say as you glance back toward your sister and your friends. Sayaka was giving you a thumbs up. Hitomi flashes you a smile and Madoka was still averting her eyes. "I wanted to welcome you to Mitakihara. If you need anything, feel free to ask."

"Actually…" Homura places a hand to her mouth. "I need to see the nurse. Do you know where her office is?"

"The nurse? Are you alright?"

"I was just discharged from the hospital," Homura says, her hands resting on her desk. "So, I need to check in with the nurse. It's nothing serious."

"Oh," your eyes go wide. Nothing serious? A heart condition sounds pretty serious. Wait, she was a magical girl, wasn't she? It was a safe assumption. Does becoming a magical girl remedy stuff like that? Another musing you would probably never get answered. You take a mental note and glance back toward Madoka.

"Oh hey, look at that," Sayaka taps Madoka on the shoulder. "The perfect job for you!"

"Ah!" Madoka jumps in her seat. "Sayaka!"

"Y-yeah," you take advantage of the opportunity. You apologize to Madoka, but not really. You thank Sayaka for the opportunity. "My sister's the nurse's assistant. She can take you."

"Your sister?" Homura looks toward the back of the classroom. "I see. You're twins?"

"Yeah."

If Homura's power was to go back in time, this would be stuff she already knows. How routine was this for her? Her expression felt genuine, as if this was the first time you were meeting. It wasn't as though you were experienced in matters of deception. It was just the feeling you got from her. It was hard to put into words.

"Okay then," Homura sits up from the desk and ventures toward Madoka. As she approaches, Madoka shrinks back in her seat, her face beet red. "Madoka, was it? Could you show me to the nurse's office?"

"O-okay" she nods her head as she struggles to maintain eye contact.

You give Sayaka a thumbs up.

She returns the gesture with a soft smile.

You were dragged into coming. Part of it was guilt, another part was concern. That, and the floating Madoka urged you, and your sister asked you to come along. You couldn't really refuse Madoka in stereo, now could you?

Madoka leads the way through the halls. Her steps are measured, checking back every few seconds to make sure that neither you nor Homura vanish into thin air. You didn't blame her, considering the labyrinthine architecture of the school.

"We're still here, Madoka," you stifle a laugh.

"I-I don't want Miss Akemi getting lost, Momo," Madoka says.

"The school is pretty big," You say, resting your hands behind your head. "What do you think, Miss Akemi?"

A few students peer at you through the transparent classroom walls. Some are interested in Homura, and some are staring at your sister and you. There were still some students at school who didn't know you were twins. You thought Sayaka did away with the last of the onlookers.

Guess not.

"Homura is fine," she says, not taking her eyes off of Madoka.

"Oh, Homura," Madoka says the name to herself. She glances back, then forward. "T-that's a really cool name. It means flame, right? I think it suits you."

"Yes," Homura's smile brightens as she moves forward to keep pace with Madoka. "And yours could be read as flower."

"Oh, yeah!" Madoka nods. "It can be. But, it's not really as cool as yours, though."

"There's no need to sell yourself short." Homura closes her eyes. "Your name is fine the way it is."

"You think so…?" Madoka scratches her cheek. "Thanks."

"No thanks needed."

"What am I watching?" You whisper.

"Homura is so cool." The floating Madoka echoes the sentiments of her corporeal counterpart.

"Thanks for the input."

You click your tongue.

Even though you were asked to come along, it felt like you were imposing. Madoka meant a lot to Homura, and Homura was going to be important to her. If they were going to get along, did you really need to stick around? Madoka didn't have any problems talking once she felt more comfortable.

The hallway ends and branches into the overpass connecting to the school's opposite wing. The view opens up outside, revealing the shimmering buildings on the horizon. Clouds pass by overhead, casting the hallway into a dim shadow.

Homura stops walking.

You stop.

After a moment, Madoka turns around, "Homura? Momoka? Are you coming?"

"Yes," Homura says, her eyes on the horizon. "I was just admiring the view. Sorry."

"The view?" Madoka walks over to join her. Her eyes trace along the city skyline. "Oh, wow."

"It feels like you can see the entire city from here," Homura says.

"I don't know why I never noticed before…" Madoka mumbles.

"It's only natural, I think," Homura says, her hand caressing the glass pane.

"Huh?" Madoka blinks.

"You walk this hall every day, don't you?"

"Yeah," Madoka says.

"So, it's only natural you would take it for granted." Homura's hand presses flat against the window.

Her eyes stare out at the horizon, unmoving. It was as if she was reaching for something that wasn't there. Whatever she was reaching for lied just out of reach.

"Homura?" Madoka tilts her head to the side.

"Sorry." Homura sighs, pulling her hand from the window. "Let's keep going."

Madoka nods.

You hold your tongue, despite your concerns. Letting Homura know that you had an idea about her identity might be a bad idea. She wasn't exactly what you envisioned when you thought about meeting her. Her demeanor was different than what you had been expecting. You never knew her, but from what little you did know, you were expecting someone a bit more callous. The girl in front of you just seemed a little distant, but otherwise she seemed nice.

You round another corner. Madoka shows Homura to the nurse's office. The nurse walks out to meet them. Afterward, Homura enters the room.

"I'll be out in just a second, Momo!" Madoka says as she walks inside with Homura.

You're left alone in the hallway.

Just enough time to consider your next move. How were you going to approach this? There were a lot of questions you had, but you had to focus on one thing at a time. With Homura in the picture, you could …

[_] … speak to her about what you've been doing with the other Madoka and your goals.
[_] … talk to her about the soul gem from the future, and ask about the other Momoka.
[_] … reveal that you know about her time powers and ask her about her plans in this time loop.
[_] … keep your distance and let Madoka talk to her.
[_] ... be friends with her.

[X] Just honestly try to befriend her. It doesn't have to be more than that. Not yet at least.

Imagine if this Homura wants both sisters lmao

[X] all of the above except be distant.

If she is how we think she should be, she needs a friend who she can trust, and she can't trust anyone who doesn't know the truth. And if she's different then we'll at least learn something

If this is a Labyrinth, then where's the Witch? :V

"Your name is fine the way it is.
Missing an end quote here.

"You walk this hall everyday, don't you?"
"every day"

[X] … speak to her about what you've been doing with the other Madoka and your goals.

Honestly, I don't know which of the first three I want, but I do know I want one of them.

I'm really curious about Homura because she isn't acting like she has done alot loops but at least some and the way she interacted with momo seemed kinda distant compared to madoka

As far as I understand, these are Homura's first loops, perhaps literally the first loop. So she's still trying to get along with everyone else, even though she definitely remembers what happened before. And this might be the first time she sees Momo, and Homura has no idea how to act around her. It's a pity that Momoka missed Homura's reaction, getting lost in her own thoughts.

Episode 6 - 5

You were thinking way too hard. Why not just treat her as you would anyone else. Putting intent to your meeting is what made it so hard to talk to your friends to begin with.

It was important that you consider what it is you want to do moving forward. However, that didn't mean you had to force it. Take things one step at a time and relax. If you weren't careful when dealing with Homura, you could end up stepping on a landmine. It would be a delicate balancing act, but it was something you could learn to live with.

Time wouldn't wait. Each time the world shifted, it was like jumping from one parallel line to another, rather than moving backward. It was just that events were being rearranged. Time still marched onward whether you wanted it to or not.

The cold void flashes into your mind. The soul gem wandering aimlessly through the endless darkness. The word evoked by another, "This isn't my battlefield."

"That's not true, is it?" You mumble, looking at the transparent visage of your sister floating overheard.

It was a miracle within a miracle. Depending on it was tantamount to suicide. It was best to put it out of your mind. Focus on the things that you can do in the present. Besides, you didn't want to waste a single moment with your friends. It was a mistake you weren't willing to make again.

Eventually, you would have to come clean. You would need to give up the lies and the deceit.

You sigh, putting your back against the wall. You slowly slide down until your rear bumps the floor.

"Not again."

"Momoka?"

"Yeah?"

The floating Madoka points down the hallway. Your gaze follows her transparent arm to the tip of her finger. A head of black hair juts out from behind the wall. The girl's eyes widen as you spot her. She jumps behind the wall then out of sight.

"Oh." You narrow your eyes. "That's a little awkward."

"Do you know that girl?"

"No," you whisper with a shrug. "I don't normally hang around people from other classes. You know that."

The floating Madoka slowly nods. "Actually, I think you should make an effort to change that."

"You sound just like--" You stop short.

Of course she sounds the same. They were the same person. Different walks of life, but the same person all the same. You chuckle at the fact you have to keep reminding yourself.

"Well, it's--"

The sliding door rattles open.

Madoka and Homura step out.

"Sorry for making you wait, Momo," Madoka apologizes with a frown. "Who were you talking to?"

"Oh, uh…" You blink. "Myself? Wait, you overhead me?"

"Yeah." Madoka nods. "You haven't done that in a while."

"Is that a habit of hers?" Homura quirks a brow.

"Yeah. She says it helps her get her thoughts in order," Madoka says with a smile. She walks ahead with her hands at her back.

"Just spill my guts, Sis. All over the floor," you feign a groan as you stand up.

Madoka laughs nervously, "Sorry."

"Anyway, how did the visit go? You alright?"

"I'm fine," Homura says, her eyes fixated on Madoka's stride. "Nothing you need to worry about."

"I'm just concerned, that's all." You walk fast enough to keep pace with your sister. "It's gotta be scary living with something like that."

"You get used to it." Homura walks beside you.

What else was there to say? Prying any further only invited discontent. You pass by the wall that the peeping girl before was peering around.

She was gone.

The hallway wasn't very long, and it branched into different paths. Pursuing the girl would take more time than you had. You glance down each path as you pass by. Other than students moving from one classroom to another. The sound of loose gossip hangs in the air. No sign of the dark-haired girl.

"Did you lose something, Momo?" Madoka asks as you turn the corner.

"No. I didn't bring anything to lose," you say, peering down at the ring on your finger. Unlike certain people, you haven't had the audacity to lose it. The thought pulls a smile to your face.

"Oh, if you didn't lose anything…" Madoka ponders, a hand to her chin.

"I feel like I'm being watched," you say, putting it bluntly. No point in beating around the bush. "There was a girl with black hair staring at me from the corner back at the nurse's office." You point back toward the direction you came.

"That sounds a little strange," Homura says, her eyes fixed on Madoka rather than you. "Did you see anything else?"

"Nope. She had black hair. It looked kind of short, but I couldn't get a good look."

"I see," Homura slowly pivots toward Madoka, then to you. Her shoulders stiffen and her eyes focus with a cold gaze.

"H-homura?" Madoka pauses, glancing between you and Homura. "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well? I can take you back to the nurse."

"There's no need for that." Homura shakes her head. "I'm just thinking."

"Thinking?" Madoka frowns. "About the person Momo mentioned?"

"Not that specifically, no," Homura mimics Madoka's pondering hand. She grins."Just how close you two seem to be."

"Ah, well, um…" Madoka scratches the back of her head. "What makes you say that?"

"Well, you asked your sister to come with us to the nurse's office."

"That's…" Madoka averts her eyes.

"She's just a bit nervous. Cut her some slack." You lean on Madoka's shoulder. "I'm just here for moral support."

Madoka was knocked off-kilter from the dream. Best to run interference while you could.

"I'd say 'I don't bite', but I'm not sure if that would make this situation much better," Homura shrugs.

"I-it's not like that, Homura. It's just you're very … um…" Madoka's mouth was moving fast than her brain.

"Intimidating?" You finish your sister's thought.

"Yes! But, not in like… a bad way, or anything!" Madoka waves her hands in front of her like she's trying to put out a fire. "I think you're really cool!"

"You think I'm cool?" Homura quirks a brow. "I appreciate the compliment."

"Ahhh," Madoka's shoulders slouch.

"Say less, Sis. Say less."

"I can't help it!" Madoka whispers. "I'm not good at this."

"Neither am I."

"Then help me talk to her!"

"What, why me? She's your dream girl, isn't she?"

"Momo!" Madoka exclaims.

Homura crosses her arms and watches with a satisfied smile. You turn toward her with a vindictive glare. What was her game? Did she know that you knew? You couldn't operate on assumptions. It was best not to show your hand until she started showing hers. Until then, just keep things as they are.

"I wouldn't mind seeing more of this, but shouldn't we be getting back to class?" Homura walks past the two of you.

"Yeah, we don't want to be late for next period!" Madoka pulls away from you and begins walking after Homura. "Come on, Momo!"

You glance back toward the end of the hall.

Sure enough, there was your stalker. A head of short, black hair and yellow eyes. Instead of darting away this time, she waves at you. It wasn't just a wave. She was beckoning you toward her. Did she want to talk?

You look toward the departing Homura and Madoka.

Finding an excuse to speak to her was easy enough. You were on campus, so the odds of her doing anything extreme were low. Not to mention you were more than a little curious. On the other hand, you didn't want to make Madoka worry more than you had to. With this in mind, you …

[_] … make an excuse and go speak to the stalker girl. If she kept prowling about, there's no telling what trouble she could drag you or Madoka into.
[_] … ignore the stalker and go with Homura and Madoka. It was best to keep your distance from strange people, even if they were students at your school.
[_] ... tell Homura and Madoka that you found the stalker and begin giving chase. The two of them could catch-up. Probably.
