The Forgotten
---Lion City, California, Two Weeks Before Leona Arrives---
Mizuki's magic flared once more as she quickly stomped off the ground, jumping 20 feet into the air, thus dodging the burst of water that was blasted at her, before launching several throwing knives at the blond girl who had controlled it. The blonde dived into a puddle to her right, disappearing from view, before bursting out another puddle and launching another blast of water at Mizuki while she was in midair. Mizuki simply dropped down an incredibly fast speed, as if gravity was heavier. A brunette standing off to the side gestured to the water as it scattered in the air, and formed several icicles before sending them rushing at Mizuki. Mizuki didn't even look at the projectiles, twisting into a textbook ballerina spin, sending the icicles into a slingshot straight to the brunette at triple the speed as soon as they neared the white haired mage.
The brunette could barely react in time, just barely parting the the swarm of icicles enough to graze her. The grazes left deep cuts, and she fell to the floor, her legs no longer capable of supporting her. The blonde screamed in rage, before rushing forward in a huge wave of water. Mizuki stood there, before gesturing with a single wave of a hand. The blonde suddenly slammed into the ground, her water splashing down around her. She began to sink back into the water, before suddenly being lifted up into the air. Mizuki walked closer, her footsteps echoing across the small courtyard they had been fighting in.
"DAMN YOU! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" Mizuki's facial expression did not change, being entirely dismissive of the threats that were screamed at her.
"My my, such vulgar language. However, I have had enough of disobedient daughters." Mizuki made a single gesture, and the blonde's body was slammed into dry ground. The blonde tried to scramble back to the water, but felt extreme pressure being applied to her entire body. She couldn't even move. Mizuki looked up at the crowd of young girls gathered on the balconies above the courtyard where the battle had taken place.
"Let this be an example. I own you. All of you. These two believed that they could go free. Leave this glorious family I have formed. That was incorrect." The blonde struggled desperately against this invisible weight. "They forget what I have done for them. For all of you. I took you outcasts in, and loved you like you were my own children. I gave you shelter from those mages in their community who would consider you lesser beings, to be disposed of like trash. I have shielded you from the gangs, who view you as a source of income, as slaves. I have protected you from the demons that hunt these streets, seeking to devour you like wolves would lambs. And all I asked in return, was your loyalty."
"It is by my will you have homes to live in. It is by my will you have this family that cares for you. It is by my will that you have food to eat. It is by my will you have purpose! IT IS BY MY WILL YOU LIVE!" At this shout, the blonde girl felt the pressure increase, and caused her to scream in pain. "I am your mother. I care deeply about all of you. But, disobedience will not be tolerated. Those who betray me will be punished. "
"However, I am merciful. Amelia will walk away from this scarred, but alive. She only strayed from the path, following another. But you, Jessica... I am so disappointed in you. One of my brightest. And yet you not only plot to betray me, but all of your sisters. It is with a heavy heart I silence your beautiful voice." Slowly but surely the weight increased, crushing Jessica against the ground She screamed and begged for help, but no one dared to move. Finally, there is a sickening crunch, and Mizuki looks away from the now unrecognizable corpse, her gaze falling on Amelia, whose face is fearful from her resting place on the ground. Mizuki's face sifts, becoming much gentler.
"No need to be like that dear, Mommy loves you... Michelle, come down here and heal your sister. Amelia, I hate to ask this of you, but could you clean up the mess Jessica made?" Amelia nods rapidly, her face still frozen in terror. "Thank you, dear. Mommy needs to take care of some business. The rest of you, continue about your day."
The balconies clear, the girls walking away, some shaking in fear, others completely unfazed. Mizuki herself turns sharply on a heel, and walks out the courtyard. A girl with bright orange hair stays, leaping down to Amelia, and channels a green glow into the wounded girl's body. Amelia's wounds close, and the orange haired girl walks off. Amelia lays there for a short amount of time, before looking at the mess that was once Jessica, and emptying her stomach on the ground, and collapses into tears.
By the end of the day, the vomit and gore was gone, and the courtyard once again looked like another normal courtyard to an apartment complex. In the next few days, no one would remember Jessica's face. When the end of the week came, no one even remembered what had happened, or who Jessica was.

(Whew, that took awhile to write. I just couldn't get the tone right for Mizuki, and spent ages trying to get it right, and even now I don't feel like I did her right. Glad you guys pick The Forgotten though, I needed to settle on what she was like, and kept flipflopping. I probably would have kept doing that for awhile. The Hero and The Bully would have also revealed some important information, but in my opinion, The Forgotten had the most valuable. Good choice guys. The crack pick had actually been The Hero, but would have had the least important information in it.)
