Lux Aeterna (Magical Girl nWoD)

Just so everyone's clear, votes will be tallied by build and not by individual trait (except for the regional vote, but Northern is winning pretty handily right now so I don't think that'll be an issue.) Current tally is as follows.

Veekie (Two Dads/Cerise): 6
Solacen (Unintended Princess): 5
Ugolino (Wannabe Knight/Victoria): 2
Salbazier (Claire): 1
Kinigget (Mary): 1
Waruiko (Sporty Girl): 1
Aoinfinity (Victoria): 1

Still a few hours before the vote closes.

*sigh* Build votes are boring. Alright, time to link up with some other folks then.

(Sayaka almost had me, but the twin theme is too good to pass up.)

I was going with build votes in this case because otherwise the character we end up with could be a bit muddled -- like, I don't want to risk Attribute and Skill Group priorities getting out of wack unintentionally, and I also think character concepts are best preserved in a build setup.

Not married to it or anything, though. If people would prefer a trait-by-trait tally, I'm willing to make the switch.

Mainly I dislike build votes because they encourage strategic voting and people voting for their third or fourth choices because what they want will be ignored if there is one difference from the winning plan. It's a decent point about the priorities, though. I don't know the best way to tally those on a trait-by-trait basis.

It seems I'm in the minority here, based on how most of the quests are run, so don't let my personal griping get to you.

If we're going by build then I'll throw in my lot with Ugolino

No doing this by build is the smart way to go here. You run the risk of weird builds if done piece by piece. WoD does not lend well to online group character generation like this so just do what you can.

I think by plan is the best for this type of thing. For the sake of making this not take forever it may be wise for you to assign ability and attribute dots for us using the character theme as a guide. Possibly the same could go for our charms and aspirations/dreams.

Ok, this is way too late into the vote, but hell if I am not putting together Emiya Shiroko. Even if it loses, I have to.

Yeah, Shiroko. When in sight of bad guys, run in, help good guys, endure, use DETERMINATION.

All the stamina. And probably wits.

Not sure about name though. Character idea is one thing, but expy is meh.

Eh, I wouldn't feel quite right doing that. That's a pretty significant step to take away from you guys, since those are the beef of your dicepools. We're handling about half of the magical template stuff further down the line -- in my version, you have to be sworn into a court, and the specific charms you have outside of Kensai/Levinbolt/Bare Hands (I'm giving you one of those for free) will be voted upon when your Blossoming's finished -- so I'm trying to do the remaining character building in batches.

The stuff we need to get pinned down before this first battle are attribute and skill/specialty allocations, Aspirations and Dreams, the Calling and transformed attribute dot, Invocations, and Merits. We're going with the pre-GMC Belief system, so no need to go through those questions. If people would prefer, I could declare Veekie's build the winner without a fancy update and throw the rest of that up for vote right now. That'd probably speed things up. Or, if people trust me, I'm not opposed to filling in the rest of the blanks on my own, just didn't want to take that from you guys if you wanted to build the character yourselves.

I think we should continue on as planned with Char Gen. it's a bit of a hump to get over, but it's important for the White Wolf systems.

Veekie's winning by a couple votes and we seem to be petering out. *Shrug* Could call it now and I don't think anyone will really complain.

A Princess: The Hopeful Quest! I was hoping to get to read one ever since I heard of the splat. Eeeeee~

Yeah, Veekie's build is the winner at this point, I was just going to divide up the remaining chargen into two sections to give other people's ideas a chance to influence the final character. What I'm trying to decide now is a) whether to condense that into one vote to save time, and b) if I should make an actual update around it or lay out the votes out of character, to save time and word count.

Does anyone feel super strongly about those things, one way or the other?

Ugh, would have changed vote if this was made known before I went to sleep.

Ah well.

edit: just condense it, IMO.

Behind the Serpent throne has a gay protagonist.

(It's also really, really good).
Thank you so much for telling me and thank you for voting for two papas =3

This is an interesting build, with a hook built right in. It helps that this build is focused on the main character and not her parents.
