Lore Khepri (Lore Olympus x Worm) (Post-GM Taylor)

I know Lore Olympus's gods are colorful, and that Khepri's shade was grey, but I never considered how much of a corpse pallor that would give her. It works surprisingly well.

Twenty Six
Not even two days in Olympus, and I was already getting yelled at by Ma'at. At this point, I honestly shouldn't even be surprised anymore. Thoth and Anubis should've known better than to let me drink anything with even the slightest amount of alcohol. I could probably blame Anubis more than Thoth, since the jackal was busy wrestling with Poseidon and his wife instead of making sure I wandered away with Loki of all people.

That just made me sound more like an idiot didn't it. I buried my now maskless face in my hands. This was embarrassing, even with nobody around to witness the verbal lashing that my much older sister had given me. Thoth and Anubis ran away when they had the chance, but I didn't doubt that they were going to make fun of me later. Traitors, I was going to make them pay for that later when I had a chance. They wouldn't see it coming.

"Anubis is going to have four new friends." I grumbled under my breath. John, Paul, George and Ringo were still here, somewhere in the hotel room. I'd have to straighten their wigs and pull their instruments out of storage.

Thoth was going to be harder, but he also did have the most reason to be offended and not want to help me. I'd give him a pass for now. And Ma'at had a not so secret crush on him, and she'd murder me if she found out that I placed a finger on one of his feathers. Hmm, I could always pin the blame on Anubis, and pass the blame to him.

Yeah, that could work for now. I slowly stood up, my eyes drifting around my lavishly decorated room. It was the exact opposite of my room in Kemet. My eyes landed on the golden dresser where my small collection of masks that I had brought with me sat. Some were plainer than others, and their colors varied depending on my needs. Sadly, I couldn't go out in public with any of them, since their unique styling would just give me away.

My phone buzzed. Huffing slightly, I pulled it out of my hoodie's pocket. It was a message from Thoth.

I handled Ma'at, so you're welcome. And please so go get some groceries, I did the math and Anubis already ate all of our cereal and I'm not paying the hotel for their upcharged products. Get other groceries too in case you and Anubis cause too much trouble and we'll have to cook at the hotel.

Amun-Ra gave me a very large allowance, spending a little extra for groceries so we wouldn't have to do it ourselves was just the price we had to pay. I'll just do that and lie to him.

I'll have Ma'at on call to make sure you don't try taking the easy way out. Make sure to save the receipts for our tax refunds.

I bit the inside of my cheek, groaned, and quickly responded.

….fine.

Thoth and Anubis not knowing the real reason I was here was starting to be really annoying, but then again, I also hadn't done much. I've just been wasting time the past two days or so. I slid my phone back into my pocket and made my way to grab a mask, when I paused just as the tips of my fingers touched a simply decorated white one.. Damn it, I was going to have to go maskless today huh?

At least until the news stopped replaying the clips of Anubis wrestling Poseidon and me being pulled down the street by Loki-Artemis, that bastard. Hopefully someone else ends up being the focus of the news soon for the rest of my stay here. I didn't need any more attention. Sighing, I left the mask on the dresser.

Well, at least nobody was going to be able to recognize me.

"How many leeks do you think we can fit in our crockpot?" Artemis held up the vegetable in her purple hands. She was leaning against the shopping cart full of their groceries for the next week

Persephone tore her eyes away from a box of premade pancake mix with a minotaur on the cover with a large smile. She personally preferred onions, but Artemis' brother was a big fan of leeks, and Persephone did want to make a good first impression. She'd convince her to use onions next time.

"Hmmm, I'm not sure." Persephone grabbed the biggest box of pancake mix and threw it into their cart with a crunch. It probably landed on a bag of chips, the unhealthy kind Mom never allowed her to even look at.

Artemis shrugged, grabbed a handful, and threw it in their cart. She wiped her hands together and pulled out her phone. "Oh, the guys are almost here to pick us up, we should probably hurry."

Persephone's face dropped slightly. This was her first time shopping in Olympus, and there was so much more she wanted to see before they left! Artemis looked up from her phone and tilted her head slightly. Her eyes widened after a few seconds.

"I'm sure they don't mind waiting." Artemis grabbed hold of the cart's handles. "Onwards to the cereal aisle! We'll grab the one with the most amount of sugar that doesn't have raisins or prunes!"

Persephone's face lit up. "Yay!"

Artemis really was the bestest friend she could ask for.

The cereal aisle was located at the far end of the supermarket, past the butcher where Artemis grabbed a rather large slice of beef to throw in the crockpot along with the leeks. Persephone only watched in awe as the cyclops manning the back effortlessly sliced the meat. Mom never allowed her to see that back home.

"You really think grocery shopping is fun?" Artemis asked. She didn't even break a sweat pushing the cart which was filled to the brim.

"Yeah!" Persephone grinned. "We grew most of our own food back home. Mom would bring back snacks sometimes though."

Artemis nodded slowly as they turned into the cereal aisle, the wheels on the cart squealing loudly. There was only one other person, who was staring at the shelves. Persephone couldn't get a good look at her, or his, face due to their long brown hair.

"Let's seeeee!" Artemis paid the other girl no mind and parked their cart in front of the organic cereal. She pulled Persephone along. "What kind should we get? We have Zeus Loops, Athena Crunch, Demigod Delights, Trojan Toasties and more!"

Persephone scrunched her face, staring at each cereal box intently. "Spartan Sparticles sounds good." She reached for the box.

Artemis frowned and lightly slapped her hand. "No healthy cereal!"

"Uhhhhh." Persephone placed a hand on her chin. Lotus Eater Loops must've been good, since there was only one of them left. "This one!"

She grabbed the box at the same time a silver-gray hand did.

"Sorry!" Persephone said automatically. She withdrew her hand. She spotted Artemis taking a few steps in her direction out of the corner of her eye.

"Sorry about that." The girl with long brown hair responded, her voice neutral. She held the Lotus Eater Loops in her right hand, but held them out in Persephone's direction. "You grabbed it first, you can have them."

The girl's light blue eyes looked bored, and emotionless at the same time. She was pretty in the same way Hera was, mature, older. Her light brown, curly hair didn't match her expression.

"Are you sure?" Persephone took a step back. She didn't know why, but the girl was kinda scary.

"Yeah." The strange goddess responded. She held the cereal out again. "You can have it."

Persephone was about to respond when Artemis pushed her forward, took the cereal, and placed it in her hands.

"Thank you!" Artemis said. She gave the silver goddess a suspicious stare, who gave a blank one in return.

The goddess nodded ever so slightly, and walked past them, grabbing a box of Spartan Sparticles on her way. That was pretty awkward.

"Well, she was nice." Persephone finally said. She hugged the cereal box close to her.

"Yeah." Artemis extended the word with a drawl, twisting her head as the silver-gray girl disappeared around the corner. "Is it me, or did she seem kinda familiar?"

"Nope!" Persephone popped the p and gently placed her cereal next to the leaks. "You're probably just imagining things."

Artemis remained silent for a few seconds and sighed. "Yeah, you're probably right."

Persephone's only response was a grin. "Let's get some cookies!" She could mix them with her cereal! Just as long as her Mom didn't find out.

So far her new life in Olympus was a big success, and nothing was ever going to change that!
