Short story: The Cute and cuddly adventures of Walpurgisnyan!
The cute and cuddly adventures of Walpurgisnyan!
This was the story, a story of a certain being made of hopelessness, despair, and fur. This was the story of that being whose name was Walpurgisnyan. Walpurgisnyan was neither male nor female, instead it was more accurate to call it kitten. Why? Well we don't know. Though we do know that Walpurgisnyan does lean towards being feminine. Anyways, Walpurgisnyan is a unique phenomenon where multiple cat based witches come together to form this single large witch. Which isn't that hard due to quite a lot of the magical girl population wishing for cats or at least something cat based.

This however had many unfortunate side effects. Due to having multiple cats in the kitten's conscious, the kitten often gets mixed messages. Lets watch this in action. Here we have Walpurgisnyan, about a size of an adult tiger with a coat of soft white fur and a big happy smile on its face. Now, a voice in the kitten's said to walk to the right, so Walpurgisnyan walks to the left, the voice wants the kitten to continue walking to the left until the kitten can reach the ball of yarn just a few meters away. However another voice comes in and tells the kitten to walk to the right so the kitten can reach the catnip so the kitten walks to the right. Then another voice comes in and tells the kitten to go backwards just for the hell of it. Then there's this other voice in the consciousness that tells the te kitten to go forward so they can go meet the muggle that just stumbled into their realm. Then there's that one voice that tells the kitten to do a somersault and add that to the twenty other voices and you basically get an amusing sight of a kitten not knowing what it wants and basically trying and failing to do everything at once.

Sometimes the kitten to misinterpret things so hard that does things like rolling around for the next twenty hours or so because of things that involve a magical girl, peanut butter, and something about ribbons. To the casual viewer, if this weren't so terrifying they would take out a camera and video tape it so see if they can post it on youtube and get tons of views, all of them are never heard from again. Other times however there are times when Walpurgisnyan does know what to do, such as sleeping, this only happens when all the voices in Walpurgisnyan's head agree on something simultaneously. Interestingly this is only one of two of the actions that all the voices would only agree on, the other being "attack intruder".

So the sleepy Walpurgisnyan went to a nice place under the tree in its witch barrier, flop onto its belly and went into a nice deep sleep. When this happens, the familiars of the witch barrier come to Walpurgisnyan in the form of smaller kittens, and go on to sleep around or something on Walpurgisnyan. Sometimes a unique familiar comes out called the caretaker, whose pure white, featureless, and possesses some feminine shape. This caretaker would only come if Walpurgisnyan is asleep and even then that's only rarely. When the caretaker does come, it would often come to the side of Walpurgisnyan and pet it as the kitten sleeps and sometimes it gently rolls Walpurgisnyan on the kitten's back as the caretaker would rub its belly. Sadly Walpurgisnyan will never know the existences of the caretaker as every time the kitten wakes up, the caretaker would stand up and walk away as it dissolves into the wind.

And so Walprugisnyan wakes up, the small cat familiars wake up too and walk away to do their own thing. Walpurgisnyan then stretches it limbs and goes on to try and consistently fail to please all the voices in the kitten's head.

A Really Terrible Idea: By Hyp3rB14d3
My turn! My turn!

A Really Terrible Idea

Homura looked into the room and swore.

And this loop had been going so well. Despite a few close encounters, Madoka hadn't contracted. Mami had survived her encounter with the sweets witch. Sayaka had contracted to save Mami, and with the older girl's support, had not fallen into depression afterwards. Together, they had somehow even managed to wrangle Kyouko into forming an alliance with them against the hostile magical girl intruding upon Mami's territory, forming a far stronger team than Homura usually had to work with when Walpurgisnact arrived.

Of course, things weren't perfect. For one thing, Homura was the magical girl intruding upon Mami's territory that the three had allied themselves against. As such, all three of them were out for her blood. Still, she was fairly certain she could convince them to work with her against Walpurgisnact, although she doubted they would be particularly grateful afterward. But that was fine. With them at her side, she stood a real chance of victory. The thought brought Homura more hope than she'd had in a long time.

Stupid. Homura had long since learned that life isn't that convenient.

For the past few days, Homura had felt a niggling unease that she couldn't quite put her finger on. Initially, she had thought it a vague fear that the trio of magical girls would successfully manage to ambush her and had done her best to ignore it. But her doubts had persisted.

Until finally she had realized what she had overlooked.

Kyousuke.

In this timeline, Sayaka had used her wish to save Mami. Which meant that Kyousuke's arm had never been healed. There were only a handful of timelines Homura had experienced where Sayaka had failed to heal Kyousuke. Before, it had always been because Sayaka somehow died before she made her wish. At that point, Homura had always largely disregarded the boy's actions, as he was no longer relevant to saving Madoka. But she was still aware of what happened to him. Suicide.

Sayaka was still alive in this timeline. But Kyousuke's arm had never been healed.

The moment she realized, Homura had rushed to the hospital. She wasn't sure what she was planning to do, but she had to do something.

She was too late.

The silver-haired violinist had somehow managed to wind his sheets into a rope, tied a noose, and hung himself.

Looking at the body hanging limply from the rope, Homura swore once again.

It was over. Once Sayaka found out about what had happened, she would fall to despair. Mami would try to comfort her, and Kyouko would try to make her get over it, but neither would be successful. Sayaka would witch.

Mami would find out the truth about witches. She would kill herself, and quite possibly Kyouko as well. Even if Kyouko survived, she'd be shaken, and possibly despairing. Not in any state to face Walpurgisnact. Witching mid-fight would only make things worse.

Once again, Homura would lose all her friends and find herself facing Walpurgisnact alone. And once again, Homura would be defeated and forced to loop.

All because this foolish boy had killed himself over his inability to play the violin.

It was over. ...Unless Sayaka never found out.

She could steal the body. Fake a letter saying he was running away, that he couldn't face his family anymore.

No. Sayaka would go looking for him, and Homura needed to keep her around until Walpurgisnact.

She could fake a kidnapping. Wait, that wouldn't work either. Sayaka would tear the city apart looking for him, and might even witch in the process.

Somehow, Homura needed to make it look like Kyousuke was still alive.

...Could that work?

It was risky, but she had to try. Homura carefully extricated Kyousuke's head from the noose, then lowered his body to the ground. Then she removed the ring she was wearing: her soul gem.

A magical girl's soul resides in her soul gem. The body is dead, kept functional only through the magic from the gem. But could it animate other bodies as well?

Homura had to find out.

Carefully, she slipped her soul gem onto the ring finger of the dead boy's unbandaged hand. And she waited.

Nothing.

Maybe she was too close? The ring was on Kyousuke's corpse, but it was still linked to her body. Homura tried backing away. Gradually, she began to feel herself become dissociated from her body. It became harder to control, and a numbness spread throughout her. Like her everything had fallen asleep.

And suddenly, Homura was lying on the floor of the hospital room she'd left the corpse in.

Ooh, here's a plot! Hero saves the world, and is rewarded with amnesia and being shoved back into their old life. Here's the catch: at the start of the adventure, the hero wasn't so heroic, and only became the hero that saved the day through character development. And while they took away the hero's memories, they didn't take away the hero's skills or physical prowess. Suddenly, a person who isn't nearly as heroic as the hero has all of the hero's powers and abilities. And has no issues with abusing them. Congratulations, amnesia dudes! You just made the next villain!

Now what series have people that can cause amnesia who are stupid enough to think amnesia and a forcible return to a normal life are a good reward?

I don't think I have the heart to do that. Evan my idea of Homura losing her shit would require me to man up and maybe watch Akira, Corpse Party and maybe some Future Diary if we're being honest.
