London By Night: A Quest of Murder, Betrayal and Blood

I'm throwing in a vote for Self Made Man, because it's not Sleeper and secondly, the only other backgrounds that really interest me are the Nosferatu ones, but I don't particularly like the Haunt's disadvantage.
Just to clarify, I'm using my own house-ruled clan flaws which I've been using since... well, since about when I went "ha ha ha no goddamnit WW did you not even look at the shift in probabilities made by the canon flaws".
Hence, the Gangrel one is "increased chance of frenzy", and the Nosferatu one is "Humanity + 2 caps your non-fear-based dice pools with vampires". And all Mekhet are Hollow.

Ok, so I know everyone's voting for Cavallier's write in and I like it too.

However I think it might be even more interesting if we changed one little thing. Change Donald's name to Donnie.

I say this because the concept of a self made woman in English society in the 1920s is fascinating and we'd get to explore some really interesting social dynamics.

I won't be too upset if its not changed I just think its missing out on potentially interesting options.

EDIT: Never mind, I just realised that was a stupid post but I'll leave it up for the obvious reasons.

"Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his (undead) brow? 'No!' says the House of Lords, 'It belongs to us.' 'No!' says the Church of England, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man on the streets, 'It belongs to everyone.' I reject those answers; instead, I chose something different...

I want to be the most dapper and libertarian vampire that the world has ever seen.

After reading Havoc's post and thinking on it some more, I'm considering changing my vote back to Sleeper.

Aw hell, I will. Cavalier's write-up was boss, but I honestly think Sleeper will give us a more fun and more action packed quest. SB/SV in my experience doesn't actually get a ton out of scheming and plotting, and often tends to stall when faced with those kinds of dilemnas. Honestly I wouldn't envy ES in trying to keep that kind of quest moving. With Sleeper, it's pretty easy to keep the pace of action up.

[X] Sleeper

This is a really good argument for taking Sleeper and riding that doom-train all the way down.

Though Cavalier's writeup is boss, I'm sticking to my guns.

BTW, if you have twenty mins to spare, you might consider writing a boss write-up for Sleeper, or I don't see how likely we are to win the vote.

[X] Cavalier, because screw Sleeper. Seriously.

Yeah. There's...A lot of issues with the White Wolf games. I do have to give them one thing though: The sheer number of options they provide though (entire bloody books of optional rules!) is just incredible. It's a wonderful toolkit with some nice fluff, if nothing else.

Nice House rules, by the way.

Shit, let's be hardcore. Apologies if the write-in is crap, I'm pretty much just stream of consciousness freeforming here.

[X] The Sleeper

I don't remember much. Bits a pieces mostly. Fragments of images, all that cliche amnesia tripe you'd read about in one of those fancy medical journals. But hey, turns out the quacks were right. Let's see if I can remember anything...there was a woman...or maybe it was a man. It's all so hazy, so hard to remember.

I do remember the screams though. And the red tears that fell down his face. Something in my hand...a ring? A brooch? It's gone now. Was it even there? She begged me to stay, her face full of concern that didn't reach his eyes.

So thirsty.

I remember...walking down an empty road. No, wait...there was someone else there. A bird? No, it was just a man with a beakish nose. He'd been waiting for me...why? Something about a meeting. I can't hear him over the raucous caws of the crows, the roar of hundreds of wings taking flight.

And then there's blood soaking through my shirt. Did he attack me? No...there was someone else there. A flash of gold. But I still live. We all still live.

...How do I know that?

And why do I feel like I should be running?

[so......I tried.]

"It is I, Dio Brando!"

Having acquired the wealth of the Joestar Family I Dio Brando have continued to strive hard to become ever more powerful!

That is a great write in and sets up a really driven character who no-longer cares about following the accepted rules.

I quite like the Hunter, actually. Someone who has seen things they shouldn't and now can't close their eyes again, who has hoarded half-truths and occult trinkets which, in the end, give them just enough rope to hang themselves with. Cavalier's write in is fine too, though.

And, uh, I really suggest we not go Sleeper. I reckon this is going to be troublesome enough as it is-going for Sleeper after the many, many warnings ES has thrown in our faces is probably going to be less 'tough set of challenges' and more 'sumo wrestling with a train'.

Yeah, but it wastes what could be a legitimately interesting set of circumstances - noveau riche in the 1920s perfidious albion - for the same-old MURDER: THE MURDERING II: MURDER HARDER

Which would be a shame.

On review, my write-in didn't even say anything that interesting to begin with.

Switch to:
[X] Sleeper

Cavalier's write-in, was, quite frankly, bloody awesome, but I can't help but be attracted to the shiny...

[X] The Sleeper.
