Also, it's less bad habits and more the result of brain damage and/or a psychological break, never established.
There is actually a ficca 'mihoshi's secret' where Washu finds that mihoshi had her brain tampered with by the equivalent of a blind back-alley butcher because of reasons. it's on ff.net , if you're interested.

crossover where Taylor finds and binds to a Guyver Unit...
'Bioarc' has a guyver taylor - emma gets one first, and it kinda went comatose just after T got her suit, though...

Supposedly there was to be a Mihoshi novel that told us what happened, but apparently didn't pan out.
The GXP novels suggest some kind of brain rewiring, possibly because of extreme brain damage, but it's unclear about specifics or reasoning.

Then again, the ditziness is not exclusive to Mihoshi, but rather runs in the family. In GXP you meet her mom, I think, who likes to go around acting as a janitor. And somehow (this never gets explained), she can go from mopping the halls of the Galaxy Police Academy to moping the halls of a pirate ship on the other side of the galaxy within a few steps. It's not just a visual gag either, it's an important (if minor) plot event!

In the 3rd Volume of the OVA series, Misao (Mihoshi's brother) takes one of the Kuramitsu family's personal battleships(?!)(The Chobimaru) and goes off to save her from Tenchi to keep something from happening. The image shown in reference to this something is Mihoshi in slices. So something did happen, it wasn't pleasant, and Mihoshi was changed by the process, or the process of being put back together.

Mihoshi's grandfather is the Marshal of the GP, yes. Everyone walks on eggshells around her because of that. From what I can gather, She got the position of Detective on her own merit, and wasn't just given it by her grandfather. Her grandmother runs the GP academy, and she probably didn't get special treatment there, either.

And yes, Mitoto tends to wander about while sweeping. She wanders into and Episode from OVA 5 from somewhere in hyperspace.

Well, yeah. Mihoshi might be a clumsy ditz, but she's a highly skilled clumsy ditz. When the excrement hits the rotary air movement device, you can count on her. It's the rest of the time that she's ditzy.

So if Taylor inherited Ryoko's power set, does that include the lasers and flight? And the intangibility? Was she trained with them? I can't recall it being mentioned in my first read-through of the chapter.

I think that Taylor's problem will not be a lack of power, but any potential bad habits and wrapped perspective she may have picked up from Tench & co.

A tendency towards collateral damage that will make Glory Girl look tame by comparison sort of comes with the territory.

Much more worrying though would be if she picked up whatever harem forming factor was there. We know it is catching or runs in the family or something.

Lisa: "I am not in a harem!"
Taylor: "So what do you call it, then?"
Lisa: "I am the treasurer of your mercenary group?"
Dinah: <giggles>
Missy: (ROFLMAO!) (Space-time in the living area goes nuts)
Amy: "Whatever." (goes back to making an abomination of nature in the lab)
Vicky: "I don't even know why I'm here..." <scritches cabbit>
Nova: "Mrow...."

Coil : "Those girls are scary..."

I am so stealing this for the Quotes Without Context thread. Hope you don't mind.

But who would fill the Tsundere role of Taylor's Harem? Emma, Sophia, Madison, Racheal Best Girl?

Would she really be denying it though? I mean, the harems in the Tenchi universe tend to form because the girls all want the same person, and (eventually) decide they can share.

It's never explained what actually happened during "The Incident", but Misao's mental image of what Misato went through has the top of her head cleanly severed.

Misato has been BROKEN. Possibly worse than any version of Taylor.

Question... Who is "Misato"? The character's name is Mihoshi (Galaxy Police detective, and extreme ditz), and her brother Misao thought his sister was in a harem and being abused by Tenchi. That's why he was trying to "rescue" Mihoshi and while killing Tenchi (and making it look like an accident) and destroying the Earth. I don't remember any images of the "incident" either.

Mihoshi

Mihoshi Kuramitsu (九羅密 美星 ) is a main character in the Tenchi Muyo! franchise. In most of her appearances, Mihoshi is a well-meaning Galaxy Police officer who unfortunately suffers from a combination of being klutzy, scatterbrained, and lazy to some degree. In Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, Mihoshi is a...
About 2/3rds down the page.

Kryslin, I was responding to someone who kept using "Misato" as Mihoshi's name. There is nobody in the Tenchi Muyo OVA continuity's version Mihoshi's family with that name. And the other continuities don't really go into much detail on her family to my knowledge.

EDIT:
Apparently in the novels (did those ever release outside of Japan?) more details of the Incident are given, and it was (probably) an attempt to brainwash Mihoshi to make her a spy. So probably no actual physical damage, just mental trauma.

The best part about the Tenchi crossover?

I can just imagine Contessa getting a headache as PtV tries to adapt the Paths she has going.

I'd be more imagining PtV Crying in frustration because it can't handle all the threads that have been cut/derailed/re-routed/corrupted/ashed, thus causing Contessa's brains to start leaking from her ears...

Mihoshi's crew doesn't cause gentle ripples in the fabric of everything, they cause Tidal Waves! Butterfly effect? Nah, more like a Boeing 777.

The only other Worm fic I've read with Tenchi elements, PtV told her to start a carrot farm. And she did. As of that story's latest chapter, GM might be kicking off, because Scion tried shooting a cabbit with the GFYB, and only obliterated the carrot field it was eating from.
