Triple Post HO!
I blame you Persona Q
Gawd this is just turning into my writer's block chapter isn't it. At this rate the Ill Demise will be my brain. Too many rewrites, too many compromises. The headache is still going strong.
But anywho, the chapter's out and it does it's job despite being shorter than I wanted. Sorry.

What do you do?
"Well," is all you can think to say, "It wouldn't hurt to take a look."
"Are we sure?" Kunimittz asks "I remember reading on some of the beta forums that a few out of the way places were booby trapped."
Not helping.
"Good thing leaders always go first." Issin states, giving you a slap on the back that's almost enough to cause you to fall down the stairs.
Really not helping.
"Fine, fine." You jeer "I'll lead the way ya wimps. But if I die from this, I am haunting you."
"Not if we die too." Issin remarks.
"Great. I'll get to haunt your ghost for all eternity. What a pleasure that woul-"
"Guys. Quit stalling and let's go." Harry calls from already halfway down what you can see of the stairs along with the rest of the team.
Issin and you share an embarrassed glance at each other before following them down.
***************************************
The stairs themselves weren't that long. Maybe even half the distance of the main stair sets, all ending in a single small room with a large wooden and closed chest on the opposite side.
You inch ever so slowly toward it. 'The room is too small for traps' repeat in your head 'this is only a hidden treasure, this is only a hidden treasure' repeats even more.
Your hand is already touching and preparing to open it sooner than you'd like. Your teammates just ever so slightly looking over your shoulder. Better now or the suspense will kill you before any traps could.
As fast you can you fling open the chest to find inside….

.
"FUCKING NOTHING!" Dale surprisingly is the one to shout out first with DJ equally raged upon his head.
And as he says, the chest, this large but plain and keyless chest in an out of the way location is absolutely barren. To say everyone was mad is an understatement.
"I could have sworn…did someone take it." As usual Harry is the first to point out a missed detail.
"I wouldn't doubt if someone got here before us." Dynamn explains "But whatever was in it should have respawned by now."
"That's if it was a common item. Either we missed the timing or it was a special item like a boss key or something." You voice your ideas.
"Which means if it was the boss key then we have no reason to stick around here today." Issin moans "We're already decently leveled and equipped by Argo's advice. I say we go back to the inn and only come back tomorrow if no one announces they've found the door."
Nods and sounds of agreement resound from your team. Fuck this place, you're going to sleep.
************************************************************
It was later the next day when you heard the announcement that some guy named Diavel and his team had found the door and was organizing a raid.
The worst part, had your team only taken a right past that floors stairs instead of left you would have eventually found the stairs to the final floor and thus the boss instead of room with an empty chest. It may have even been you calling the fight.
However, it might have been better if you didn't. Your team was tired after the past few days of searching to where you might not have been able to try another area. Even if you had found it you've never lead a boss raid, just been a part of one, and seeing how your luck had been lately who probably would have messed up something important.
.
.
.
God this is not great for your self-esteem.
Anyways, the raid meeting is not for another two days. What do you do tell then?
[ ] Skip to the meeting. Let your team rest another day.
[ ] Grind more in the tower. No level like overleveled.
[ ] Find Kirito. You haven't heard from him in about a week and you're getting worried.
[ ] Write-in.
