Kingdoms Asunder - A ASOIAF Nation Game
The Doom of Valyria brought chaos and fear throughout Plantos on both the continents known as Essos and Westeros. Great Kingdoms rose and fell in what became known as the The Century of Blood. To this day it continues to rage in Essos as the new Free cities fight amongst themselves to see who will rule and conquer with the destruction of the Freehold. Across the Narrow Sea sit seven separate Kingdoms ruled by men that wish to see their kingdoms expanded or just hold onto what lands they currently own.

The Westeros was divided into seven quarrelsome kingdoms, and there was hardly a time when two or three of these kingdoms were not at war with one another. The vast, cold, stony North was ruled by the Starks of Winterfell. In the deserts of Dorne, the Martell princes held sway. The gold-rich westerlands were ruled by the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, the fertile Reach by the Gardeners of Highgarden. The Vale, the Fingers, and the Mountains of the Moon belonged to House Arryn. Harren Hoare, the King of the Isles and the Rivers, neared completion of his vast castle, Harrenhal, and ruled with a ironhand. King Argilac Durrandon, the Storm King, watches with troubled eyes on the strength that King Harren is gathering as he tries to gain new allies.

Out on the island of Dragonstone, the westernmost outpost of Valyrian power for two centuries, sat the last known family of per Valyrian descent, House Targaryen. Its location in the Bay gave its lords a stranglehold on Blackwater Bay, and enabled both the Targaryens and their close allies, the Velaryons of Driftmark, to fill their coffers off the passing trade. Velaryon ships, along with those of another allied Valyrian house, the Celtigars of Claw Isle, dominated the middle reaches of the narrow sea. While feared for many years, that fear has abated in the last fifty years when the last great dragon, Balerion, passed away from a sickness that also saw no new dragons born to the family.

It is a time of great unknown in the Kingdoms as people watch what their Kings' will do. Will they once more march to war to gain new lands and riches? Will they remain in their homes and see their Kingdom turn inward to grow and prosper? Or would rebellion prop up and see new families rise and old ones fall?
Faction List:

House Durrandon - May 112 AD - Turn 1

Head of House: Storm King Argilac Durrandon, aged 63.
Heiress: His daughter, the princess Argella, aged 24.
Seat: Storm's End
House Words: Ours is the Fury
Cadet Branches: House Bolling
Economic Status: Prosperous

Storm's End, seat of the Storm Kings

Lord Becir Bolling, a. 47. Married to Lady Isola Cole, a. 45.
- Thier son, Ser Harcas Bolling, a. 27. Married to Lady Bela Gower, a. 27.
-- Their son, Ustin Bolling, a. 6.
- Thier daughter, Bara, a. 25. Married to Ser Malcolm Grandison, a.24.
- Thier son, Ser Mercer Bolling, a. 23.
- Thier son, Pavel Bolling, a. 16.

From their great citadel Storm's End, the Storm Kings of House Durrandon had once ruled the eastern half of Westeros from Cape Wrath to the Bay of Crabs, but their powers had been dwindling for centuries. The Kings of the Reach had nibbled at their domains from the west, the Dornishmen harassed them from the south, and Harren the Black and his ironmen had pushed them from the Trident and the lands north of the Blackwater Rush. King Argilac, last of the Durrandon, had arrested this decline for a time, turning back a Dornish invasion whilst still a boy, crossing the narrow sea to join the great alliance against the imperialist "tigers" of Volantis, and slaying Garse VII Gardener, King of the Reach, in the Battle of Summerfield twenty years later. But Argilac had grown older; his famous mane of black hair had gone grey, and his prowess at arms had faded.

North of the Blackwater, the riverlands were ruled by the bloody hand of Harren the Black of House Hoare, King of the Isles and the Rivers. Harren's ironborn grandsire, Harwyn Hardhand, had taken the Trident from Argilac's grandsire, Arrec, whose own forebears had thrown down the last of the river kings centuries earlier. Harren's father had extended his domains east to Duskendale and Rosby. Harren himself had devoted most of his long reign, close on forty years, to building a gigantic castle beside the Gods Eye, but with Harrenhal at last nearing completion, the ironborn were soon free to seek fresh conquests.

No king in Westeros was more feared than Black Harren, whose cruelty had become legendary all through the Seven Kingdoms. And no king in Westeros felt more threatened than Argilac the Storm King, last of the Durrandon—an aging warrior whose only heir was his maiden daughter. Thus it was that King Argilac considred reaching out to the Targaryens on Dragonstone, and offer Lord Aegon his daughter in marriage, with all the lands east of the Gods Eye from the Trident to the Blackwater Rush as her dowry. But this was not to be, for after the death of the last dragon no new dragons were hatched, and Aegon Targaryen was no longer a dragonlord worthy of his daughter's hand. King Argilac instead found himself needing to find a different strategy for the defense of his realm...

House Royce of Runestone two years before the completion of the eightieth century since the Long Night

Lord Galbart ''The Giant'' Royce, here seen in ancient runic armor, with Lamentation , the (hand- and a half) Valyrian blade of House Royce, strapped at his side. His moniker comes from his stature, for he stands at seven feet, one of the tallest men in Westeros, due to his Umber and Mormont blood adding to an already considerable height common to House Royce. He won his knighthood at age 13, when he defeated all others in a tournament hosted by his great-great-grandfather. Sometimes however, he wished he was the younger brother, for Lord Galbart prefers war, wine and women above all else. His brother is his polar opposite, being erudite and well read, it is he who handles the governing of Runestone and is his elder brother's most trusted advisor while trying to keep him and his worst excesses in check.

Black of hair and grey of eye, he resembles House Royce as it has been for thousands years.

The Free City of Braavos

The Free City of Bravos is located in a a lagoon on the northwestern end of Essos. Also known as Braavos of the Hunderd Isles and the Secret City. Often described as the wealthiest and powerful of the Free Cities of Essos, Braavos has often been a great center of trade and a source of naval might. The arsenals of Bravos produce one of the finest fleets in the whole world, both for war, and for trade. Often reaching all the way from Lannisport, to the farthest reaches of Quarth and Asshai.

Reigning as Sealord is Corollo Penorys, head of a once minor banking family in Braavos, that had risen to the top of Braavosi politics. The house of Penorys has had a long history of patronage of the local arts in Braavos, and enjoys the quiet approval of merchants, and bankers of Braavos. His current priorities in the continuation of trade, so that the coffers of the players of Braavos continue to fill. He also prioritizes against dealing with slavers of any kind, as doing so has a tendency to become infamous overnight in the Secret City.

The Penorys family:

Sealord Corollo Penorys (Age 27)
-His wife Lucretzia Penorys (Age 23)
*His son Rolerio Penorys (Age 12)
*His daughter Chiara Penorys (Age 8)
-His Brother Adelmo Penorys (Age 35)

Portrait of the Penorys family.
House: Penorys.
Head of House: Corollo.
Economy: Prosperous.
Current Allies: None.
Treaties/Agreements: Standard trade agreements.
Internal Actions: Patronage to the arts. Investments in shipping.
External Actions: None so far.
Current Projects: To be announced.

We Essosi can give you that which you lack in coin and ships, as well as a prize even more valuable, men more than willing to convert and adopt your House's name to perpetuate your dynasty.

Greetings to the Prince of Pentos. I thank you for your offer, though I regret to infrom you that I have already made arrangements for my daughter's hand. We Westerosi are more inclined to preserve old bloodlines, and men here are just as willing to marry matrilinealy. But our of curiosity, who are these men you speak of, when you say "We Essosi"? Are you speaking on behalf of your house, or on behalf of your city of Pentos?

From the King of the Isles and Rivers, Harren the Black
To the Great Lords of Westeros and the Riverlords and the Lords of the Iron Isles

My great fortress is complete, Harrenhal now stands as the mightiest of all the seats of Westeros, dwarfing even the puny Rock in size. To celebrate, I invite all you blaggards and blowhards to feast in my halls, sleep in rooms larger than your homes, and join me in drinking and fighting to my reign and the reign of all my successors now that the rule of House Hoare is set in stone for all eternity. Even you Andals with your pointy stars and your squeaky voices are invited, har.

My brother Ser Laswell Peake along with his son Garth Peake will attend

If you want to be technical I am speaking for my House, my City, and my Allies. Simply put we want to hire your armies and in exchange we are willing to provide your with a navy and a warchest to strike against your enemies after the war is won.

Prince Syran Ormion of Pentos;

I write to you to express my concerns over Volanti's bid to form New Valyria. Such an ambition goes naturally against Braavosi interests. I cannot however offer direct military aid, as my people dislike aiding those that would enslave their fellow man. However, I cannot do nothing while the enemies of Braavos threaten to make Valrya come again.

The aid I offer is an indirect one. One of facilitation of trade. I propose that you allow me a merchant quarter in Pentos, where Braavosi merchants can sell much needed weapons and supplies. I offer the same at the Secret City, as a gesture of good faith.

I wish you good fortune in the war to come. I hope your side emerges victorious, for all our sake. Should the tides of war change, or go against your favor, i'll see to make it acceptable in Braavos to come to your aid. The reestablishment of the Freehold of Valrya is something that is not something Braavos wishes to happen.

Sincerly

Dear friends, my daughter the princess Argella and Ser Mercer Bolling are to be wed at Storm's End on the first day of the Sixth Moon. I wish to invite you all to this august occasion.

If you want to be technical I am speaking for my House, my City, and my Allies. Simply put we want to hire your armies and in exchange we are willing to provide your with a navy and a warchest to strike against your enemies after the war is won.

In principle, I have no objection to the notion. I would wish to invite represntatives of the alliance to my daughter's wedding, to take place at the start of the new moon. I should like to discuss the specifics of the matter more in depth.
