Something to keep in mind is that we might direct Ichigo through Urahara's shop so that he can get knocked out if his body so he isn't in the frail human body when he arrives

What exactly is Urahara thought to be at this point, by Rukia et all? Getting in a shipment of Soul Candy (with a mod soul included) seems to imply he's still in contact with and somewhat tolerated as a waystation by Soul Society. I just don't remember why he didn't give out any Soul Candy before then, was it that he had literally none before the Kon issue? Its pretty obviously a significant danger for Karin and Ichigo both to be without (one hopes we were still close enough to the shop that someone's bothering to pick up Karin's discarded "corpse" while we run off to battle?)

Would Rukia be mor useful than shikai? I figure Karin could use shikai to at least take out one hollow before the others arrive, and seal it before Rukia notice. Either way I think Karin can keep the hollow occupied untill Ichigo arrives.

Or if we really want to go down the rabbit hole. Well, Did Karin ever really have a real body? After all, a Gigai is for Shinigami to recover in, and we have a Zanpakuto that we really shouldn't have.

The whole point of putting the PlotRock on Rukia was for it to be destroyed later with the Sokyoku wasn't it?

No. The Plot Rock was hidden in Rukia's soul and the Gigai was turning her human. It would have been impossible to find if the process completed. The Sokyoku was Aizen's plot, as it was one of the ways by which the plot rock could be removed from Rukia.
