The Year is 2026.
This is Tokyo. But not the Tokyo you would have thought of.

Many years ago, during the midst of the Kaiju War, a Category III dragged up a piece of wreckage from the Breach on its way to Tokyo. It wasn't from this world, nor from the Anteverse. The wreck was an immense skeleton, like that of a dinosaur or kaiju, but with obvious cybernetic modifications. When scientists examined the wreckage, they found a slew of new information. A DNA computer built to process as fast as a Jaeger AI. A cannon in the chest that could drop a target's temperature to -278 degrees Centigrade. And most interestingly? This thing was made in Japan. Or at least, a Japan.
Now, the days are long, and life is short. Japan is overrun by kaiju pouring from the Breach. Communication is cut off from all other countries. The Jaegers have been destroyed. Japan has only one hope left. The wreck. Combining what remained of the robot's mechanisms with their remaining Jaeger tech, Tokyo has created their last stand against the kaiju threat.

The Iron Dragon. Kiryu.

...
What Have You Done?
So, I bet you all are wondering "Fyrstorm you silly, what have you done? This isn't anything like the other 'So-and-so-Jaeger vs. The World' Quests out there! What were you thinking?" Well, to be honest, I just really wanted to see Mechagodzilla fighting Pacific Rim kaiju. That, and all the other Jaegers were taken. So, I'm asking you all to be patient with me, and let me know if I've made any truly horrible mistakes. Other than this quest.

Overall, Iron Dragon vs. The World is supposed to be a (relatively) serious parody of the 'So-and-so-Jaeger vs. The World' quests, such as Cherno Alpha vs. The World. Obviously, this quest has quite the difference from the other ones: The Jaeger here is Kiryu. Even so, I'll be using the basic stuff set up by Open_Sketchbook during Cherno Alpha vs. The World, linked up HERE and HERE.

Again, I'm quite new to GM-ing, so let me know about my problems.

Cat II Kappa Detected!
What am I voting for?

Nothing for now. I still have to throw the kaiju at you guys.
Speaking of which...

Iron Dragon... Online.

Red Alert! Category II Kaiju Detected! All Hands to Battle Stations!

Kiryu's construction into a Jaeger had only recently been completed. Its capabilities in combat are yet unknown. For the sake of Japan, everyone hopes it works well. Striding forward uneasily, the pilots manage to maneuver Kiryu into the bay. Shin-deep in the cold water, the mighty mecha stands.

Roll me Scanners; 1d10 + 3!

Wicked roll!

Immediately, Tokyo's SH-60 Scout Helis are dispatched. Little more than a couple kilos away from the Shatterdome, they discover the kaiju, which is swiftly codenamed: "Kappa".
Kappa- true to its name- is a bipedal creature reminiscent of a turtle. A large, thick shell covers its back, wrapping around its stomach and chest. Thick scales cover its arms and legs, the former of which end in shiny, black pincers. The creature's neck is long and weakly armored, ending in a scaly head that somewhat resembles that of Karloff.

Kappa is 4 Kilometers (40 Units) away from Kiryu's current position. How will you proceed?
[ ] Walk towards Kappa (3 Units, or 5 if using Rocket Thrusters (once every three rounds))
[ ] Charge towards Kappa (1d10 Units, or 1d10 + 2 if using Rocket Thrusters)
[ ] Write in.

Well, doesn't seem like anybody else is voting. [X]Plan Vanestus wins! Roll 1d10 + 2 for Kiryu's Charge!

[X] Walk towards Kappa (3 Units, or 5 if using Rocket Thrusters (once every three rounds))

Why rush? Even if we charge it's still out of range, so we just waste fuel.

Kiryu's rockets are fueled by your reactor. They don't run out of fuel- they just have to recharge between usages.

On Kiryu's thighs and back, rocket engines ignite. The Jaeger springs forwards, traversing the water in great leaps and bounds. Finally, the rockets die down, and the Iron Dragon skids to a stop.

Meanwhile, Kappa has continued its trek, moving at a leisurely pace. The kaiju's pincers clack together menacingly.

Kappa is now 27 units away. What do you do?

Hmm, we should be able to have the Rocket boosters recharge in time.

Walking!
Kiryu stomps forwards, tail lashing at the surf. A metallic rumbling rolls off the Jaeger's joints as it approaches.

Kappa, on the other hand, quickens its pace, starting to sprint. The turtley kaiju is moving far faster than it had initially, covering a distance of six hundred meters before it starts running out of steam!

Kappa is now 18 units away (it ran at you). What do?
[ ]You know the drill- keep-a-strolling
[ ]Run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me, I'm the IRON DRAGON!
