In Fine, Solum Est Tibi (A Quest in Rome, During The Fall of the Republic)

As we have seen for the past few years dude.

Just... annoyed by this update is all.
Why do you think they are a tag.

you know what your getting into when you see it.
I personally would like it if we had a bit more control over the outcomes of our decisions rather than total feast or famine situations like this.
Well, here is one thing.

Remember all the dice rolls you did at the beginning of the quest.

That gave you a starting situation.

The marians were a 3, and they hate you, and your family's guts.

Sulla views you as a god damn granddaughter.

And you lads did the rolls. Not me.
-----------------------------------------------------

But speaking as the hear and now.

You are in total control of your situation, despite being a subordinate.

Meaning you have an effect on the legions survival and victory odds.
-----------------------------------

As for the chaos in rome.

The problem is, this is rome in one of the most chaotic periods of its history.

And you are not in rome to play politics.

You are off in Pontus.

Which was by the way, your choice. You could have stayed in rome.

Mag has a good point.

This was what was set up for us due to past rolls.

We can only hope that by the time the Pontic War finishes that we can lead support to Sulla or that Sulla takes down Marius in the end.

Plus, let's make sure we can put Caeser on the right path after what happened to his family.

I mean honestly yeah this roll was rather extreme but uh, we rolled really low and the thing is I could VERY easily see this exact thing happening to Sulla support at this point.

Here is the thing that must be remembered.

If sulla Wins, we'll be getting some of the spoils. Plus, as his surrogate granddaughter, you think that things won't be very nice for us, if we return in Triumph taking the Peninsula.

Or more?

NEVER

well okay not never, I can't mind control the entire thread. Still VERY much opposed to such a marriage.
I don't think Caeser is interested to get married right now.

Even more to his CO, who's been kinda awesome and been a rock to him.

Hell, we may become a Rock to him once he learns about his mother's crucification.

MAN I LOVE THIS QUEST! Rome is hitting the crapper big time, our home and finances are in complete ruin(at least the writings survived so that is good), meanwhile the gods decide to troll us with a supposed prophecy…all going according to our great plan of world domination!

Also my vote!
[X] "Even on my best day, I would never claim to be Venus (or Artimpasa in your tongue- did I say it properly?), nor am I acting in the capacity of any of her priestesses. No, I am instead but a humble soldier of my father's homeland, of Troy reborn in Rome, one who has journeyed by Fate or Fortune back onto the shores of her mother's homeland. Mithridates threatens both our peoples, so I came hoping to be welcomed in good faith to broker an accord between all my ancestral peoples, Roman, Hellene and Scythian, with the hopes that one day our talks may one day build a shared hearth under the watchful eyes of Tapatī́ ."

Well at least when this over, and we have a heroes welcome in Rome, we can look at the Marians who survived and quietly erase them from history.

As they should be.

Slaves Owned: 103 (All Slaves have been confiscated by Marian supporters, and scattered through Italy) 1 (Spieo remains)
Dammit, I hope we can get our friends/reutine back somehow.
You are off in Pontus.

Yeah, and we are returning Rome with a legion which literally adore us...

Heads will roll...
Does this mean that they have found our secret gold...

So true... To be the Cool Big Sister of Caesar sounds pretty awesome.

I hope that we get to know Cleopatra soonish... I am not really sure if they are going to become great friends or hated enemies though...

Knowing our friends, they will do everything in their power to save our slaves, and to protect our writings.

If sulla doesn't kill them all first.

Don't worry, we'll get our money back. Plus interest.

Indeed.

Isn't she like a child right now?

That would be a little awekward.
Well one thing is for sure, Marius's reputation for future historians is going to be a bit more negative then OTH.
Well if history continues the course, Caeser will demonize the man as destroying the republic, while Sulla restored order.

A strong, confident woman in an authority position who he knows really is looking out for his best interests, patting his head and helping him work through his time of crisis? Cesar's life is gonna go a tad different I think.

Also fuck! At least the writings survived.

When this is done, we will erase Marius from history. His family record burned, his very name expunged.
He shall suffer the worst fate that can possibly happen to a roman. To disappear and be forgotten.

I mean, at least we can safely say that, in the end, we at least became one of his best friends.

Also, I love the fact that Pompey might truly be Caesers friend instead of a political rival.

If anything happens between the two of them, there will be even greater tragedy.

Hey, that the most important thing. Those things can't be replaced so easily.

Or he becomes a Mayter.
That or anything in regards to Marius's history will be heavily skewed against him, more so then OTH figures like Nero.
True.

Well, we can always comission some mosaics/sculptures to gloat over the destruction of its house...

Yeah, I missed the dates...

Even then, it wouldbe interesting to see them interact they are both extremely intelligent, beautiful and capable women in a position normally reserved for men...

And if our businessgets back to normal Alexandria has an extremely interesting source of new texts and stories.
If sulla doesn't kill them all first.

Well I hope he leaves a few alive so that we can kill them ourselves.
Rome is in civil war, I beg you, to remain in Greece, and if you can, prepare a domicile for me, I may need to continue writing, but I have many things that I wish to discuss.

Most notably, a certain General in Pontus.

Your close Friend, Cicero.
So we are going to be Cicero's babysitter now?

As Sun Tzu once said: Throw your soldiers into positions whence there is no escape, and they will prefer death to flight.
I guess that applies to us right now. We need to win, and win hard.
