-[X]Daughter: The Gods cursed him for a time, with an only child being a daughter. But soon he forgot such majesties and treated you not as a girl, but as his heir.
-[X]You are an only child. The Gods cursed your Father, and thus, made you alone in your family name.
-[X]The Patrician You are a patrician, the true nobility of Rome, the upper class of the Republic. Yours is an ancient family, hailing back to the very founding of Rome itself, and some would say even older than that, following Aeneas, all the way from Troy. Once, your family had numerous branches across the Republic, and were respected and held in high regard by the people and the Senate of Rome alike. But one by one, your line died out and your name fell into disrepute, from the plague, from war to Hannibal's butchery of Canne massacring several lines all at once. The name you have quickly devolved from respect to something of the dredges of society becoming associated with flesh merchants and slavers. A member of your family has not held the Consulate, or even sat in the Senate, for well over a century. Your father, through his actions, has started well on the path to restoring the long-lost honor of your name, but with him dead, the legacy of your family rests upon your shoulders.
    [X] Plan: A son earning a seat
    -[X] Felix Flavius
-[X]Son: Ah, a Gift from the Gods themselves, a man to carry on your Family's name and Legacy
-[X]You have siblings: Your Mother survived your birth and gave your father more children (Will roll a d8 for the number of siblings that you have.)
-[X]The Plebian You are a plebian, one of the common folk. Your family is a family of soldiers and has been for as far back as memory can reach. The most famous of your family, a respected hero Flavius, won laurels for his service in the Punic Wars against Carthage over a hundred years ago, and even rose to sit on the Senate. He rose through glory from his actions and deeds in service to the Republic, a soldier to the bone, and that legacy still runs in your family. His achievements were the very apex of your family name, and are the reason you can count yourselves among the nobilis of Rome, those authorized to sit on the Senate. His glory was a height your father strove to reach but could never match. As a soldier and a plebian alike, you will have more support among both the army and the people, facilitating a rise through the ranks of Roman government, but you will be looked down upon by the largely patrician Senatorial class -- the very class you seek to join.

I wonder if we could take advantage of the Spartacus uprising when it happens.
While I'm VERY skeptical of us dismantling slavery in Rome. Defeating Spartacus might help us politically, maybe. Crassus went after Spartacus and basically everyone mocked him even after he won for just putting down a bunch of slaves, but that's because Crassus was a nonmilitary man looking for a chance at military glory so people would stop mocking him, also everyone hated him in general because basically took a bunch of murdered people's stuff.

I mean the GM was inspired by something that had Roman Women in the Military while acknowledging Rome's massive Sexism and they've said you can do military stuff as a woman just that it will make waves.

Some us are picking a female PC and hoping to aim for military stuff because we're aiming for something specific, something admittedly difficult but possible in the quest.
It not just the sexism but the fact that the normal for the world is not having women in the military. It is on purposely hindering the character to play as a woman in this time period. It is not difficult it is something near impossible to have a women in the military. The only way I see a woman getting into the military is pretending to be a man. Than there is the physical part of being a legionnaire . 50 pounds was the bare minimum of caring a load out. Even if you become a officer there is a physical part that will difficult for a woman. I am hoping to play these realistic and well for me playing as a women in this time would not interest me because there is very little a woman could do to influence the outcome.

While playing as a women the only way I can see as having influence is through family members and soft power. Which frankly SV is terrible at anything that involves intrigue, politics or understanding someone else point of view. These is Rome not Sparta where women controlled the money.

But this Quest will not be run 100% true to History. So yes, we will have the possibility to do stuff that normally would've been impossible for a woman in Roman Times.

The QM is AUing the world enough so that women are actually viable to play. So Rome is now only 10% the sexist it was before or so.

Where did he say that because I do not see any of that in the character creation.
To be fair, if Magoose was going to kill the woman off, or bad end a female protag in the first three updates. Magoose likely knows better than to allow a female protag to be an option.

So, it's likely a female protag is possible to play, it just will be one of those "hell mode" quests where early game choices and high rolls mean game over or game win.

Regardless of what wins, I think people will need to realise that we will not be able to fix all of Rome's problems. We can save Republic, reduce Sexism or move to abolish slaery, we may be able to solve one or two, but not all three.

No, but he repeatedly stated outside of the Creation Posts that this Quest is based on the Game Expeditions: Rome, where a female Player Character CAN end up leading an Army and all that.

But if you really want proof from the QM himself: @Magoose, could you please confirm this for @Nurgle?
I will confirm that depending on your play style and actions, you can serve as a member of the Roman military machine and become legate…

You have little faith in me?

I am willing to kill you, but only for your actions and mistakes, not for your gender that you choose in creation.

I'm not that much of an asshole.

But you will need to commit to a play style in charecter creation and run with it, and learn on the fly for everything else.

Also since we are nearing the end of day 1 of voting, may I have 1 d100

Honestly all I want is to have siblings, more than anything else, its maybe not the best but I think it creates interesting opportunities and problems that being a lone child is completely devoid of.

@gale an image option if you like it:
