I Became a Background Character?!

[X] Pay attention.
I was tempted to do the window vote, but I guess this train of true manliness has no brakes.

Obviously we need to pay attention.
Looking out the window is for Main Characters.
Our job is to make sure the main character doesn't starve, doesn't flunk out, and stays healthy enough to be physically attractive.

...oh what a sad day it will be when bickering would be harem members finish taking over our jobs.
What will we do?
Where will we go?

We'll be punching out Cthulu, but it will be barely visible in the background of the final episode as a reward to dedicated viewers.

[X] Pay attention.
Power without precision is very inefficient.
Power with precision is very scary, just look at all the martial artists.

[X] Pay attention.
-[X] Give quick glances out the window when given the opportunity.

REAL MEN CAN DO EVERYTHING!

But if we can't do this I'll change it.

[X] Pay attention.

The Muscle-Brain line kills me. I shall abide by it without fail.

Good job keeping character without it being excessive! I was worried when the character choices showed up and with the post after, but you've done a good job keeping it fun without being overbearing or obnoxious about it. Part of it might be that you were introducing other characters here and that the focus away from 'us,' but nonetheless I think you've struck a nice balance.

By the way, you keep switching between past and present tense when you shouldn't be. I noticed it when you were talking about Nana and friend. Might wanna proofread and look out for that - pick one tense and stick with it.

"So sleepy."

From the seat right behind mine came a weak voice of my friend. As always, instead of paying a soupcon of attention towards our teacher, he fell asleep. The tiger cannot change its stripes, after all. In my case, I decided to put my mind to this lesson: smarts and spirit – a true man needs both.

I followed the teacher's explanation, trying to mute the classroom chatter. Our history teacher, a balding man in his forties, was infamous for the sheer boredom his lectures emanated. Even from my seat, I saw that a few more students fell victims to his lifeless, monotone explanation.

My eyelids felt so heavy… But a true man should not only accept any challenge on his path, but welcome it as a dear friend. "Not a step back!" I told myself and kept scribbling some notes, absolutely certain that a certain someone would find them more than enlightening. Such was the burden of true friendship.

"Ah!"

Just before the lesson came to its end, I heard how something heavy crashed behind me, followed by a loud cry that belonged to the person sitting behind me. There, sitting on the floor, completely stunned, was Haru. Did he have a nightmare?

As everyone's gaze fell on him, attracted by the commotion that broke the melancholic atmosphere that reigned over the classroom, my friend scratched his cheek in embarrassment, his face turning a bit red. The class' reaction ranged from malicious snicker quickly silenced by me to the disappointed sigh from the boy's childhood friend.

Using this awkward pause, our teacher declared the lesson to be over and sneaking out of the classroom before anyone could as much as say his name. Before someone could try anything funny, I coughed loudly and stood up from my seat.

"Had quite a dream, didn't you?" I said as I offered him my hand and, once he took it, pulled up. Not so surprisingly, with his slender build, Haru was light as a feather. No matter how much I tried to strengthen the spirit of manliness inside him, he still refused to train together with me.

"Sort of," he said with a wry smile.

[] "Better pay attention now."

[] "What was this dream about?"

[] "You can keep sleeping. I got you covered."

[] Write-in.

It´s not many to encourage a vice. But we´ve already admitted that our friend isn´t going to change....

[X] "What was this dream about?"

We show supportive interest in our buddy´s health and hopefully keep him awake.

[X] What was this dream about?

We need to know the plot! Usually the protagonist gets premonition of his future from the dreams, no?
