Now even moreso!

Neptune stop hitting the books, its just a metaphor for studying harder

Neptune don't hit the buttons with a sword, that's counterintuitive

Neptune hitting om other people doesn't involve a sword and a clothesline. Even if he was asking Nepgear out
Well, in light of this startling new information... I don't suppose anyone here feel like switching votes over to Mercia instead? I don't think starting out in a tech filled wasteland is going to quite work out with Neptune's skillset.

[x] A girl with a hairclip who always worried. [The Tinker]
[X] The Eastern Continent of Mercia is amiable to human life, with fertile soils and plentiful ores deep within the earth. But in Gamindustri, all it means is that the monsters are fat and their carapaces are steel. The village of Satomi has survived the Fall relatively intact, but in spite of the technology it retains and the power of its militia, the peace it enjoys is a result of seclusion. Hiding has won them time, but that peace will not last.

[X] A girl with a hat and a book. [The Hammer]
[X] The Northern Continent of Niihon is frozen half the year and pouring the other half - by the standards of the rest of the world, at least. While alternatively freezing cold and completely drenched, this environment has forced evolutionary pressures on the monsters within, vulnerabilities to fire and lightning chief amongst them. By exploiting these weaknesses and its location, the sleepy semi-subterranean village of Yamauchi has managed to eke survival amongst the wastes. But the monsters are adapting, and they will not hold forever.

[X] The Western Continent of Eopra was once the manufacturing center of the First Era, a leading pioneer in industry and engineering. The miraculous technologies of the First Era prevented environmental collapse, but the Fall has undone all that work. The skies above Eopra are smoggy and foreboding, and the monsters either robotic contraptions manufactured by faulty production lines or pollution-tainted beasts. The village of Hirai has come by with a combination of engineering know-how and weapon technologies salvaged from the ruins of the old world - but this will not last.

[X] The Southern Continent of Saia is a mountainous region, composed largely of grassland and plains. The monsters here are capable plainsrunners, but the true danger are the roving clans of raiders, who prey on what villages struggle to eke out a living along the Sillicon Valley. The village of Gates has struggled on regardless, but it cannot last, whether against monster attacks or barbarian raids.

Come on guys, a couple more votes for Mercia and we can actually start in a place that best fits our talents.

I don't see why Eopra doesn't work just as well. It has people with engineering knowledge and fancy weapons tech to back our Martial-focus up.

Hey guys what's goi--- *reads prologue* what did you guys do?!

Uh, I don't think we can expect there to be people with engineering knowledge to be readily available. I'm not privy to the details, but I get the impression it's more of a fallout esque situation where there's lots of hyper advanced tech lying around, but no one actually knows how it works beyond the bare minimum required to keep it functioning and/or to prevent it from turning you into ash.

Anyway, my concerns are really more of a "How easily will we be able to get set up" thing. Neptune's talents are much more suited to gameplay in Mercia, where we can easily deal with"tough monsters" and "dungeon delving", then gameplay in Eopra, which is more "Trying to recover ancient tech without totaling them" and "Reverse engineering future tech", neither of which really makes use of Neptune's skills.

It says right in the vote that they have the knowledge.

I know literally nothing about the setting wheeee

The way I read that has it be more along the lines of "Fallout esque" rather than "Full blown manufacturing sector", though. Plus there's the main point about how Mercia is more fitting to Neptune's talents than Eopra is.

Or you could, you know, vote Vert.

In all honesty though, they both seems fairly Fallout-like in their own right, but I would probably prefer Eopra because of the value it has in the long run - production lines can be restored in the long run, which is always easier than having to build them from scratch. Not to mention that their village has to have some people who know what they're doing, and there's no shame in delegating tasks, allowing ourselves to fully devote to the Quest of Loot and Combat.

Ya know, I wasn't gonna post this from the disaster that was that last part alone, Then you brought up fallout!

:p

Well, two things.

1) Neptune will have Nepgear to start, though whether she becomes a CPU remains up for debate

2) Neptune won't be completely useless for anything but fighting, she'll just start with an unusually high Martial Stat and average everything else.
