Traits
Physical
Weasley: You are a member of the Weasley Family, one of Great Britain's oldest lines of Pureblood wizards. Your family have been marked as blood traitors for generations but are still afforded a level of respect by the general Wizarding World. You have brilliant red hair that fights against any dyes or attempts to be concealed. It is hard to go anywhere without being recognized as a Weasley.

Eidetic Memory: You remember everything that you've ever seen or heard, from the moment of your birth until now. There are quite a lot of things said in the earshot of children that you may not have been meant to know, and there is almost limitless value in perfect recall. All Spell DCs are slightly reduced, and all DCs against regression are significantly reduced.
Mental
Bookworm: You are most at home curled up by the fireplace with a good book in your hands, whether it be a textbook or a book of fiction. You receive a slight penalty to physical athletic activities and general socialization, but receive a moderate bonus to learning from Books. You have a significant bonus to social rolls with other Bookworms. You are able to locate books in libraries and information caches without a chance of failure, so long as that book is present in the area.

Crushing: You have a hard time not falling into crushes on the pretty and powerful boys and men you meet. It's not your fault. Most people are so terrible and they're not. You may experience other social oddities or effects in situations interacting with these individuals.

Guarded Mind: Your mind and thoughts are kept well-guarded. You receive a slight bonus to Occlumency related rolls, but receive a moderate penalty to attempts to learn or use Legilimency.

Imaginative: Your imagination abounds. You are able to entertain yourself easily and without the use of outside resources. You are more competent at Transfiguration and Charms for your ability to think and work in out of the box ways, but you struggle to follow exact recipes or wand movements as Potions and some other arts require. You receive a bonus to certain Charms and Transfiguration abilities and a penalty to certain Potions abilities. Developing your own techniques and abilities is easier for you and brings benefits to the developed techniques.

Willful I: You are willing to fight on behalf of your beliefs and preferences. You have a determined intention to act as you choose to. Some would call you stubborn.

Worldly: You are familiar with other cultures of the world than just that of Magical Britain and are able to more easily interact with people of other cultures, races and nationalities. You are less likely to be shocked or put off by the present of magical creatures or of traditionally dark characters. There is a certain wisdom about you, despite your youth.
Spiritual
Seventh Child: You are the seventh child of the Weasley family, and the first daughter of the Weasley family in several generations. This is a great omen. You are more effected by the magic of others, and your magic has more effect on others. Your magic can be considered "more real" than the magic of others; others would describe it as being more dense or more concentrated. You know that there is more to be developed from this omen and from this trait, but you lack the resources and knowledge to do so in your current state.

Wanderlust: You have a desperate need to travel the world and leave the confines of Magical Britain and The Burrow behind you. Adventures off the beaten path into the Forbidden Forest, the Black Lake or the hidden depths of Hogwarts can sate this wanderlust, but they cannot stave it off forever. You are uncannily capable of finding hidden places and have a natural sense of where you should and should not go, though following that sense proves difficult. You will travel the world, or it will be your undoing. Staying too long in one place by your own volition progressively weakens rolls made and damages your mental health.

Weasley Pride: Every slight to you or to your family will be paid back in full. You cannot let matters go, no matter how small, and you take any perceived insult personally. Though this trait will not force you into fights at clear baiting, failure to take revenge on those who slight you will damage your mental health and blur your connection to reality. You receive bonuses to rolls made in pursuit of petty vengeance.
Skill Traits
Ancient Runes II: You are an accomplished study of Ancient Runes of European and Near-Eastern varieties. At your level of skill, these runes have become slightly more than a simple language. You are able to recognize the inherent constructs within runes that lend themselves towards magical use, even if you are not yet accomplished enough to infuse runes with magic or manipulate rune structures towards your goals. This level of Ancient Runes knowledge would put you at an advanced Hogwarts Ancient Runes course; however, due to the curse-breaker origin of your rune knowledge, you are lacking some fundamentals of the practice and are best versed in different runes than the ones you are likely to encounter in school.

Egyptian Lore I: You are familiar with the most basic levels of modern Egyptian magical practice and lore, including a basic understanding of their unique wanded magic tradition and their ancestral legacy of wandless magic tradition. You are familiar, in name if not in practice, with the concept of Egyptian lich, the Egyptian sorcerer, the Egyptian sphinx and the great snakes Uraeus and Apep, whose very names evoke power and emotion.

Natural Occlumency II: You are a natural Occlumens and an above average Occlumens at that. Your mind is naturally guarded and shielded, unwilling to cede its inner thoughts, beliefs or perfect recall to any intruder. You have organized your own mind with care and precision, allowing for much more efficient meditation and mental control. You are able to fend off the negative mental effects of physical conditions, curses and hexes better than most others. You are able to use your mastery of your own mind to improve your studying times and synthesize information. You receive bonuses against DCs for mental illnesses, mental curses and mental attacks. You receive a slight bonus to studying, information recall and spell regression related rolls.

This quest will aim for twice-weekly updates.
Rolls will be done via the Orokos Dice Roller. My roll history is visible here.
Character creation & setting choice will take place over the first 2½ votes.

WIP Book of Characters. ATM, only the "First Year" sections are expected to be completed to any useful level.

Gryffindor
First Years
Craig Anderson: A half-blood boy with short and stocky build. He was the first student sorted this year.

Polly Beam: A Muggleborn girl "with wide blue eyes and dainty blonde hair," befriended by Beth Squire, Ruby Jukes and Kathleen Sheehy.

Colin Creevey: A Muggleborn first year who carries an old-school camera along with him.

Ritchie Coote: An athletic-looking boy who was immediately sorted into Gryffindor. Blood status unknown.

Demelza Robins: A half-blood or pureblood Witch with an acidic tongue. She looks like a Weasley, though you'd know if you had another cousin with that red of hair. She constantly wears a flyer's braid, a hairstyle popular among many Quidditch players.

Kathleen Sheehy: A pureblood girl in the Beth Squire-Ruby Jukes-Polly Beam clique. She seems to have taken Polly Beam under her wing.

Beth Squire: A (typically) introverted half-blood girl who you sat with on the Hogwarts Express. Raised in Godric's Hollow, her father was a Muggle and her mother is a Witch. She came to Ruby Jukes' defense against Arjun Balaji on the Hogwarts Express after Arjun's comments on Muggles and obliviators.

Hufflepuff
First Years
Eurig Cadwallader: A fit, Quidditch-minded boy who self-describes as "not much of a people person." If he's not a people person and still made it into Hufflepuff, it says a lot about his work ethic... or, more cynically, about his lack of other relevant traits. Eurig took steps to resolve the situation and remove Arjun from the train compartment after Arjun created tensions. During the Sorting, he cheered for you despite your Sorting into Slytherin.

Ruby Jukes: "Leader" (or at least, the most prominent member) of the Gryffindor first-year girls clique, despite being a member of a different House. She constantly wears heavy make-up and dresses to a more formal standard than most of her peers. She's generally personable and welcoming, though Arjun's comments in the train put her on the verge of tears. Half-blood.

Heidi Macavoy: An athletic girl with a build for Quidditch. Blood status unknown.

Maxine O'Flaherty: A dainty-looking Irish pureblood. Her Sorting was the only sorting Professor Sprout clapped for.

Malcolm Preece: a "boy, of the Boyish variety." You don't have any thoughts at all about Malcolm Preece. Blood status unknown.

Jack Summerby: The second-to-last student to be sorted. He apologized to you that you had to go last before he went up to the Hat.

Ravenclaw
First Years
Arjun Balaji: A pureblood from the old muggle colonies. You've heard the name Balaji before in passing, but not with any context to speak further on what they do. From your brief interactions, Arjun seems to hold an utterly dismissive view of Muggles. He insulted Beth Squire and Ruby Jukes while you were all together on the Hogwarts Express.

Randolph Burrow: Slim, muscular, short-cut brown hair. He looks like the type to play Quidditch and was friendly with Eurig Cadwallader. Blood status unknown.

Luna Lovegood: A childhood friend of yours with a very peculiar sense of viewing the world. She recently gifted you a necklace to protect you from "nargles," which you kept as a token of your friendship but now have reason to believe may hold actual protective charms for the wearer. In her youth, her mother Pandora (an Unspeakable) died during a spell experiment, leading your aunt Leonie to leave the Unspeakable department. Luna and your little cousin Mafalda had a serious row in the aftermath (as serious as an argument between a then ten-year old and a then-nine year old could be, that is). She is your best friend outside of your family.

Felicity Eastchurch: A tanned girl with outright white hair. You aren't sure how you feel about her and her appearance. Mum would have nasty words for her, but you're not your mum and you don't have to carry her biases forward. She was a near Hatstall, spending just under five minutes beneath the hat before she was Sorted.

Susanna Hesleden: A (for her age) outstandingly tall and wiry girl with a single waist-length braid of black hair. From your first impression of her in Defense Against the Dark Arts, you think she's a Gilderoy Lockhart fangirl like your mum.

Grant Page: a Muggleborn "boy, of the Boyish variety." You don't have any thoughts at all about Grant Page.

Slytherin
First Years
Harper Burke: A card-carrying Blood Supremacist, son of imprisoned Death Eater Cantaker Burke and his wife, Paves Burke. Harper is of the family's lesser branch; his uncle maintains and owns the family properties in Knockturn Alley. By most, the Burke family are considered to be a family in serious decline. There is a portrait of one of his great aunts, Belvina Burke, in the Slytherin Common Room. Burke is a competent spell-caster and appears to have received some tutorship or training from his parents, but he's intolerable to be around and intolerant to everyone he is around.

Eben Malathorne: A Jewish Pureblood and the younger of two siblings in his family. Like his sister Aviva before him, he is particularly talented in Transfiguration. He has strived to present himself as a peace-broker among the Slytherin first years and agreed to try and reign Burke in. Malathorne is polite, but you hold little doubt that he has the same blood supremacist beliefs Burke and many other Slytherins do. Malathorne's family deals primarily in the trade of magical creatures and holds legacy positions in the Ministry's offices of international commerce and foreign affairs.

Priscilla Newcastle: A Pureblood Witch immediately sorted into Slytherin. She and Helen Prince know each other from before Hogwarts, considering Helen's use of the nickname "Cilla" for her. Priscilla has been the most social of the Slytherin first-year girls (including yourself) and seems to tolerate your presence. Though she holds some level of blood purist beliefs, she was also willing to make fun of Burke for obsessing over the Dark Lord and for his father's imprisonment in Azkaban. Priscilla's family is marked with a large number of prominent aurors, lawyers and the occasional Unspeakable. Priscilla has a clear interest in flying, Quidditch and potions, which appear to be her best subjects.

Fulton Pratt: a Pureblood "boy, of the Boyish variety." You have very little thoughts on or about Fulton Pratt, but you did notice his absence during the Slytherin Welcome Party.

Helen Prince: One of two children of the modern Prince family, a storied family of British purebloods that has died out in the male line three-times now and been reclaimed by the pureblood husbands of Prince women each time. Helen's line is one of the longer to maintain the name in recent times, though her father's decision to marry a muggle woman when "the magic is already so frail in their family" has drawn significant criticism in pureblood circles. The family name carries respect, but some consider it to be a bit of a curse on the male line of those who claim it. She seems to have been well tutored in magic from both inside and outside the first year curriculum. By most appearances, she is asocial; the only time you've seen her actually engaging in a conversation was with a group of fourth-year Slytherin girls, none of whom you recognize. You've been trying to become closer with her, but most efforts are unable to get past her walls. On the train ride, she told you this on the topic of friendship: "I'd enjoy your friendship, Weasley, but it'd come with a cost I'm not sure I'm able to pay."

Christopher Rose: a Muggleborn boy who pushed for Slytherin in order to emulate the path of a Muggleborn Slytherin Head Boy from decades past. That was an interesting choice on his part, if nothing else. He comes from a line of bankers and comes off as particularly ambitious when you ask certain questions, but he otherwise seems absolutely willing to take orders or be pushed around by Malathorne and the other Slytherin boys. He wears an interesting pair of hexagonal, topaz-edged glasses that are quite unlike any pair you've seen before in the Wizarding World.
