[x] Crush her hand.
[x] Tell her to fuck off.

It was hot. Way to damned hot. Malcom had always hated summer. Summer meant school was out, so he didn't have the excuse to stay away from home, away from mom.

Except now, a bit of home had followed him to Boston. Mom had bludgeoned her way back in his life, despite his best efforts to leave her behind. She had all but thrown his sister on his doorstep and left, not even giving him the courtesy of a warning.

Maggie was terrified of him. She flinched every time he spoke to her, and made a clear effort to stay out of his way wherever possible, hiding in his old workspace for most of her time in his apartment.

It was a cheap attempt to win her over, but Malcom had gone out and bought some ice cream for them to share. Even if it didn't work, it would at least help with the heat.

"Hey handsome." Came a voice from a side ally. It was sweet, melodious, and stopped him dead in his tracks.

"Why don't you come over here." The voice said again. He knew he shouldn't, he knew he had to get home to Maggie. But he couldn't. He couldn't resist. He had to meet the source of that sweet, sweet voice.

He turned on his heel, marching down towards an alleyway. The owner of the voice was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She looked like she had been sculpted from marble, a statuesque figure, full hips and a top showed off her curves in all the right ways.

"I need a bit of a pick-me-up, handsome. Can you help me?" She purred, drawing in close and licking his neck as she stroked his chest.

"Yeah..." He said dumbly, his mind going numb under her influence. The bag from the convince store falling from his hand, the ice cream spilling out.

The ice cream.

The ice cream for Maggie.

He needed to get back to Maggie!

"Sorry, I need to go." He said, trying to pull away from her and shake off the fog in his head.

She didn't take kindly to that, locking him in an iron grip that he had no chance of escaping from. "It's cute when they think they can say no." She laughed, sinking her fangs in to his neck.

A golden mark ignited on his brow, and the woman was blasted to ash not a second later as sunlit flames engulfed his body.

Malcom's hand snapped up in a flash, seizing the vampire's as she attempted to seduce him. The influence of her hypnotic powers vanished from his mind as he clamped down, crushing her fingers in his grip and causing her to cry out in surprise and pain.

"Don't. Fucking. Touch me." He snarled, wrenching her hand from his face with enough force to send her sprawling to the ground.

She let out another yelp as she hit the pavement, drawing the attention of her two friends. They quickly gave up tormenting the other man and moved to her side, one of them helping her to her feet, the other staring him down with a look of murder on his face.

"Someone's just made a big mistake." He said.

Malcom matched his glare with one of his own. "Yeah? You wanna fucking go? Come on then!" He said taking a step forward. "Clear out now and I won't gouge your eyes out with your own fangs."

That did it. The glaring vampire lunged him, fangs bared and hands outstretched. He moved with lightning speed, crossing the distance between the two of them it seemed like had teleported.

Malcom broke his knee with a single kick, causing him to collapse under his own weight at Malcom's feet, yelling in pain.

The other two vampires looked startled at the sudden outburst of unexpected brutality, but their surprise was quickly overridden by anger when Malcom took another step forward, stepping directly on the back of the vampire in front of him as he lay on the ground, drawing another cry of pain.

"You're dead, asshole." Said the vampire woman. "Do you know who we are? Do you know what you're messing with?"

Malcom ignored the threat. "You know, I'm pretty sure I warned you." He said, taking another step forward. "Remember the park? I know word got around after that."

The mark on his brow ignited, and his body was enwreathed in golden flames.

"I killed Priscilla on accident. Don't fuck with me if you don't want to see what I can do on purpose."

Recognition flickered in the eyes of the woman. "YOU!" She roared, trying to lunge at him in her fury, only to be held back by her friend. "I"ll kill you! I'll kill you!" She shrieked, her eyes wide with hate and rage. "You killed my best friend! You're dead! You hear me?! Dead!"

"Cassy stop! Stop!" Her friend said, struggling to restrain her. "The Prince said no! Remember? He said don't get involved!"

His words had the desired effect. She stopped trying to attack Malcom, but continued to glare at him with hate in her eyes.

"We're going, man, alright?" He said to Malcom, keeping a firm grip on the woman, Cassy, as they tried to edge around him. "We don't want trouble with a sun wizard, okay?"

They clearly intended to collect their friend and make their escape. Malcom was inclined to let them to so simply because he wanted to make sure their victim was alright and engaging them further would only escalate the situation needlessly and possibly provoke a response from he vampires as a whole.

On the flipside, he really wanted to make them suffer for what they had done. He could feel his rage building within him, and he would have liked nothing more than to burn them to ashes for how they had attacked and tormented someone for their own amusement.

[] Be righteous, allow them to leave.
[] Be vengeful, make an example of them.

[X] Be righteous, allow them to leave.

I really dont want to. But I cant justify starting a conflict like this.

[X] Be righteous, allow them to leave.

So a Vampire Prince told them not to touch us, and they think we're a Sun Wizard?

....Alright. Better than them knowing what we actually are.

In their defense, there's a vanishingly small number of entities capable of throwing around sun magic like you do, with highly skilled Obrimos mages being the notable exception.

Actual mages on the other hand, will recognize that you are something else entirely.

EDIT: Actually, what exactly you are is still something of a mystery as far as the setting at large is concerned. The Werewolves and the spirits have the closest idea, but thats only because they're already in a position to be sensitive to your unique nature, and even then they don't really have much beyond "Weird Celestine/Human hybrid" which as we all know is wildly off the mark.

Best chance of getting our on the ground eldritch buddy out in one piece. Which means plot hooks, yay plothooks.

Also any Obrimos potent enough to throw genuine sunlight around is absolutely not to be fucked with, as they are also capable of throwing nuclear detonations.

Either way, its a wise Prince to heed that, and we should reward his foresight.

[X] Be vengeful, make an example of them.
We have no reason to allow them to survive, and every reason to want them dead once and for all.

-[X] at least to the one we have pinned. Let the other two go as reward for backing off.

Fuck vampires.
Also, we kind of promised to gouge out eyes with fangs. Killing them is close enough.

I am both looking forward too, and absolutely dreading writing a confrontation with an experienced mage.

I am greatly looking forward to reading it though!

I am holding out for us getting Blind Impulse Strike and some Spell-Shattering Palm equivalent before we do though, because reflexively SMITING anyone attacking us from within the same Realm of Existence is the sort of GLORIOUS SOLAR BULLSHIT I can never get enough of.

For those who don't know; Solar Counterattack is a basic Melee Charm which simply says "you hit me, I hit you back". It can be upgraded with Blind Impulse Strike to no longer be restricted to melee range - in fact, BIS has explicitly infinite range and ignores line of sight. If someone can attack the Solar, the Solar can attack them back.

It gets even more Hilarious once you get to Essence 6 though, because then you can activate BIS in response to Social Attacks you are aware of from within the same Realm of Existence. Meaning that if you read something you don't like, you can SMITE the author, provided they're stupid enough to stick around in the same Reality as a pissed off Solar. And at Essence 7? Fleeing to other Realities is no longer any protection.

Most forms of mental influence also falls under the banner of 'Social Attacks' as well, so Hey there Cthulhu, better keep them eldritch dreams to yourself, or else.

It becomes even better with certain high-Essence Awareness Charms, which alert you anytime anyone speaks your name. Allowing you to listen in on, and thus become a potential target of, any attempt to discredit you. At which point you become They-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, Or-At-Least-Never-In-A-Manner-Which-They-Might-Take-Offense-At-Lest-Thee-Be-Smote-From-On-High.

Oh, Solars.

Order-Affirming Blow actually acts as your Spell-Shattering Palm in this version. It's basically your anti-hax sword to Chaos Repelling Patterns' shield.

Blind Impulse Strike probably wont be making an appearance, mostly because I feel it's a little too absurd for the mythic hero Solars are meant to emulate. That said, Sacrosanct Soul Retribution is one of my favorite charms, conceptually, so I see no problem with building upon it to allow you to retaliate against someone who tries to attack you in a way you can't reasonably be expected to defend yourself against, such as Sympathetic attacks.
