Headway/Nexus Quest 3 (Worm/The Gamer-lite/Multicross/Dimensional Travel)

The Strawhats and Mayim aren't fictional IC. There just happens to be a manga and anime portrayal of events similar to that universe in other universes. Taylor happens to be from one of those.

I'm really happy this quest was revived, especially since it's just getting into the heroing part I was expecting for a long while. I'm not a fan of One Peace, so I've literally been reading the entire quest until this point waiting for this part... and this was when the quest died. Yeah...

You nod. "A foreigner travels to a far away land, and out of the mists he sees a boat approach the shore, a young boy at the prow. Though the ship beaches upon the shore, the boy remains unmoving there, at the prow. The foreigner is confused, and turns to his companions and asks why the boy does not approach. One responds, "He is simply being polite, and is giving us time to decide whether or not he is real."
I don't really get what was that supposed to convey. It's rather... surrealist.

Ms. Militia asked Why Taylor decided to make her debut in an easy low-risk patrol. Taylor's story basically said that she decided to do a patrol of the Boardwalk because the Protectorate is known to be in the area often and she wanted to give them a chance to get her measure before she accidentally startled them or something.

Essentially, she didn't want any chances for a misunderstanding to occur so she was being nonthreatening to the give the Protectorate time to decide that she's 'Real'.

Moratorium is over, voting can begin.

The moratorium didn't spark as much discussion on options as I thought, so in the future moratoriums will probably be shorter.

[X] You've had an idea about using three log poses in a single arrangement to triangulate position even on the Grand Line. You might be able to use technology to make reading three compasses and triangulating from them easier. You might even be able to use your two eternal poses in it! It's all a big blur of ideas right now. 1 action/day, will vote on design. (0/4 to completion, next skills: Navigation, ???)

[X] Laboon the whale is getting ready to go on an adventure of his own. Help him out by trying to teach him something. Pick only one, 1 action. 80% of Teaching 2, 10% of Teaching 3, potentially other skills.
-[X] Try to teach Laboon to read/write/speak English or Japanese.

Somewhat disappointed we didn't have more discussion during the moratorium. Maybe next time.

Though to that end I ask what direction we generally want to see Taylor training for the next, say, week or two. I have been told that she is emphatically not ready to rest on her laurels on the Grand Line by people who are more familiar with One Piece than I am. I do know she is not ready for an Endbringer fight, so that's what I have my eye on. To that end I propose a steady diet of Fishman Karate and working on ninjutsu; one because it is a magical skill that should be invaluable in a fight against Leviathan, helpful in a port city and can be taught to others once we get our Teaching skills up, the other because it helps us deal with soft target capes with a minimum of muss & fuss, has over a dozen skills for us to benefit from leveling as a group skill (I'm not sure when we will make use of horseback riding but meteorology, knives, stealth, poison crafting, bombs/explosives/demolition, acrobatics, meditation and free running all sound useful), and let's us diversify our threat portfolio; we're a ninja pirate shapeshifting fashionista polyglot superhero doctor.

I agree with Fishman Karate and/or ninjutsu. I also think we should aim for at least one more level in both Tactics and Perception since their chances have already been lowered by a decent degree.

Beyond that, Psychology and Criminal Psychology would be helpful if we want to concentrate on our heroine career in the near future.

Id also suggest 1or 2 Marksmanship training actions with Ussop just to give us a near peak human ranged option.

I am not opposed to Marksmanship training, but I would prefer going to him for explosives training as we can generally only do one action with him per day, and while we can plink away at a gun range (though perhaps not with an authentic 18th century musket) when you go to a gun range with a bucket of grenades and state your intention to build and toss explosives people are going to comment.

Another thing I want to advance is Engineering, on all front. I support the 'help around the Merry' action (on some other day) because it helps with Shipwright, but we are looking at a 70% chance of raising Engineering group skill to 2 (which amusingly is higher than Clockwork Engineering). A medium term project to transfer tech seems worthwhile to me and I want to know what we're doing before we get there. This isn't (just) an excuse to try to get arc reactors to Bet though.

This is a very sensible vote and everyone should learn from sainen's good example. :D

I think this would only work with Eternal Poses.
General Log Poses would point to the same island.

New World Log Pose

A requirement for navigating the New World. The standard Log Pose is not good enough for the New World, due to the fact that some islands change, or completely hide, their magnetic fields at random, which may leave a crew stranded if they have a single Log Pose. To navigate safely through the...

We already have a magical sword skill the musashi family style. Ninjutsu has a ton of skills underneath it and thats a lot of time and actions to raise it past 0. I'd say were better splitting out focus something like

Hero skill: something that helps out acting as a hero. Getting sube sube to 10, first aid, running, acting, etc. No specific goal other than overall quality increase of being a hero.

2x leviathan training: we know this is coming and we're not prepared. Swimming, swordfish form, musashi style, fishman jujitsu, rock hard fruit over fishman karate. Endbringers sandbag something fierce, and we are better off preparing to survive than fight. Maybe we can indirectly beach him with hydrokenesis, or just stop the tidal wave from destroying the city. Water may wash off sube sube no mi, we need a backup defense like rock hard fruit. We will probably be fighting or rescuing this under water so swimming and fishman form for breathing are important. If we want a chance of cutting through leviathan without haki, we're good with swords and already 6 with musashi style.

Exploration and advancement: driving, navigation, running, freerunning, public speaking. Anything to help get from a to b faster or unlocks more options.

Cross dimensional: action exclusive to doing something in another universe

Self improvement: we have a huge backlog of skills especially if we want to start learning ninjutsu.

Personal growth: not everything has to be about fighting, art and music skills, hanging out with family and friends, taking a breath and living is important too.

I know. But There's gotta be another factor for them to work.
If you want accurate maps then you need multiple eternal poses.
luckily we do actually have multiple eternal poses.

I don't think we should train Musashi too much, it's our main combat art, it'll level most quickly by just using it in the fights we inevitably get into.

Once locked onto their magnetic signature, a Log Pose in Paradise will faithfully point to the island it was locked to. It is not feasible for most crews in Paradise to use multiple Log Poses pointing to multiple islands to triangulate positioning because, besides several other reasons, the Log Poses will all lock onto the same position upon arriving at the new island. This is not a concern for Taylor, who can use her unusual resources and background knowledge to work around the problem. More information will be revealed if Taylor pursues the project.

[X] Hang out while Nami works. 80% of Navigation 4, 40% of Navigation 5. 100% of Meteorology 2. 60% of Meteorology 3.

I want her to focus on being a ninja and hanging out with the crew.

Being a doctor and crafting/repairing things are more a long term priority, being strong enough/sneaky enough to deal with immediate problems still seems to be the best short term focus.
Spending time with friends helps her learn and adds flavour.
Grabbing some of the easier levels in related things (martial arts especially) makes more sense than tring to max things with 0 chances to me, though that's likely because I don't care so much about the individual types that much.

Ah, and since I forgot to mention it in the update: to whoever wrote that omake three years ago and put the bonus on Sube Sube no Mi, thank you for making sure that I wasn't forced to provide a debut update with nothing but failures.
