Hamasa the Harmless [A Pokemon AU Quest]

I'm not looking for the most effective possible combination for the type of character we're playing; just one that I think would lend competence to the character while also being interesting to play. Putting too much of an emphasis on minmaxing usually (not always, but usually) leads to boring, one-dimensional, or inconsistent characters.

I doubt that will be an issue in this quest, mind, but frankly, Pure/Sound sounds like a boringly effective combination. I could consider switching from Lightning, maybe, but Fairy is way more interesting thematically than either of those.

Also, I agree with @Scify on the potential issues with Psychic. This isn't even supposed to be a very long quest; let's not risk getting bogged down by arguments over mechanical minutiae.

Way to call me out in particular. Thanks friendo!
*can't wait for this lovely friendship to continue blossoming throughout the rest of the quest*

I didn't mean to mark you out specifically. It's just hard to speak broadly when there are only, like, two people who are actually campaigning for their types in particular. It's a bit pointless to expound on what I dislike about, say, the Poison/Ground combination, when no one is arguing for it in the first place.

I'm structuring this quest on two levels.

- Character level conflicts will be tailored to the character created.
- Most of the background events & conflicts, on the other hand, won't be. Those aren't centered on Hamasa. They may require more creativity if y'all decide to dabble in them.

Anyway...update is in progress! :)

- Dark (6) won outright for types, Spirit (7) for stats.
- Fairy (5) & Light (5) were tied. Rolled, result: Light.
- Intelligence (6) & Agility (6) were tied. Rolled, result: Intelligence.

Hamasa's remaining stats were slightly boosted based on their voting distribution. Stat ranks range from 1-20, and will occasionally be used for dice checks.

Adult humans are usually between 5-10 in their stats, and 11-15 in stats they excel at. Intelligence and Spirit (particularly her two types) will be her go-to approaches.

Constitution: 6
Strength: 6
Agility: 13

Ok so we are highly intelligent, have a ton of power for our types, have good faith, style and agility but if we have a large disadvantage of we need to do any major physical tasks that arent related to movement.

Meh. If we need muscle, we can just go hire a Machamp or something. :V

((Joke post))

I can't wait to make a great plan on how to infiltrate the place but then forget pokemon were involved and get detected by some psychic type or something. :V

By the end of this thread, I want the squeal to be called Hamasa the Ingenuous Mastermind. Because we are literally a mastermind made of about 10+ people combined together in this one girl's brain.

Light and Dark is a nice combination, but for obvious reasons I'd have prefered Fairy.
At least Intelligence won out, let's see where this goes.

If it is, I spent 30 minutes writing that essay of mine for nothing.
(And I will be extremely disappointed)
But he does have other quests to work on so he's probably going in a cycle to update them.

Probably.
