Halkegenia Online Thread 7: "Arrun Noir"

I stand corrected , bunnies are OK, just not in the 'killer rabbit' trope. That's a hilariously awesome idea
Bonus points if Pina and Schwartz end up exposed to some . . . [<Corrective Data]> that Bishop attempted to use to turn Kirito and Asuna back.

Pina: At last, it's our time to shine! Come Blacky!

Schwartz: H-hey hey hey! T-that i-isn't my name you know?!

Argo turned on her heel to leave, grabbing hold hod Kii-bou by the wrist. "Come on."
Change the word "Hod" to "hood".
Actually, I think "hod" should be "of"; it looks like TH started to retype "hold" and then tried to correct it creating a new and entertaining typo instead.

Storywise, am I the only one who's realized the implications of Louise being able to cast some of the common spells like "levitate"? In the LNs, after she discovered her void affinity, she became able to use those spells, "lock" being the notable example. Several people speculated about her using a true void explosion on LLamthanc. I'd say that this is evidence that they were right.

You know there is a lot of irony at Kirito being a baphomet when you look at it the were originally representatives of duality. And if you really want to create a beast to scare the hell out of people the Baphomet had crow wings thus flight capability.
Actually, "Baphomet" was a corruption of "Muhammad". So Kirito turning into a "Baphomet" means he turns into a "Muhammad".

Bleh, the Giant Mermaid Asuna thing and daydreaming of her fucking up an Elven Fleet / Chilling with Baphomet Kirito beside Arrun Lake distracted me for the whole day.

So, advice for the next snip?

Louise POV or Agnes?

I'm partial to Agnes since, to be honest, while I find Louise's character interesting at time, writing everything going on in her little pink head gets sort of exhausting.

Louise POV please. Because we're sorta introducing a new character (Agnes), and doing that through familiar eyes (Louise) tends to be good...

How long till Kirito get the Tanngjostr?
He already "got" Tanngjostr's Beast Form. It's Tanngrisnir that he does not have.

Agnes, please. Especially if you find the other exhausting. More motivation=more updates and all.

Triggerhappy, you keep on mentioning that all Bosses are unique, and they hope they can't reproduce.

Could you make it that such hopes are futile? Pretty please~?
Well it's not really that hard for Cardinal to set this up given established rules.

As long as the unique mob in question is intelligent, Cardinal simply has to put together a beauty and the beast scenario (obviously this could just as easily with horrendous unlikelihood apply for Octavia as Tanngrisnir) involving a Fae strong enough to justify Beast Form mysteriously granting them the gender opposite version of that creature.

I really rather like the Octavia one now that I think about it. She'd be a truly serious level of Tsundere. Also one of the kids would have to be a red head named Ariel.

I cant really decide on what POV. Both would have advantages:

Loise fells like a good character, with dept, sympathic, etc. I love the parts written from her POV.

Agnes, on the other hand, weve had little of. So i dont know her. But i would love to see more of "fae trough the eyes of commoners or normals", who werent right there from the beginning. Now agnes as a relatively high musketeer isnt exactly zero. but i would still bet her perspective is vastly different than what weve seen so far, which was mostly from the perspective of nobility.

I'm now wondering what would happen to Asuna's beast form if she became even more powerful. By say for instance greatly increasing her magic casting abilities. Her suggested form is already quite scary as is after all...

There will then be an elaborate side quest where Kirito will meet Tanngjostr and is taught the ways of doing battle as a Beast God. As in the normal vain of a character receiving incredible power, getting by on brute force, and then getting their ass kicked and retrained by a master in how to actually use that power. Cause there are differences between being a Fae/human sized critter and a twenty meter tall mass of barely contained, magically enhanced killing machine. Cue Tanngjostr doing stupid shit like making Kirito balance an egg in a human sized spoon, or hold his Bestial Form transformation until his mana pool is completely dry and he collapses from exhaustion.
Of course after Kirito wakes up from his exhaustion to find that he did not revert and the Shrine has been built around him this time, Tanngjostr would finally see the funny side again.

And then there's the sparring practice.

[<The two Baphomet's faced each other, almost completely blocking the corridor like a pair of living walls. Behemoths of raw, physical power, children of a time when the world was still young, a place of ice and fire. Although both were of the same build and massive size, identical in virtually every way, there was a distinct impression that one was the young and uncertain student and the other the wise master.

"And most importantly you must remember my student." Tanngjostr said solemnly as he raised a single clawed finger. "When you do honorable battle, you must allow your opponent a chance at victory by not using your most powerful attack or changing your attack patterns until you are almost dead!"

The second Baphomet stared hard at the first, a dark haired Faerie girl atop his head nodding sagely as she took notes. Kirito had to admit, transforming into a titanic monster did have its benefits. He didn't even have to try or subtlety. His facepalms could shake mountains.]>
That's...brilliant. It's just like the Pixies ending up really embarrassed by anyone drawing attention to their sexual characteristics. A fragment of the game reinterpreted through the Transition. In this case the boss fight pacing holding for intelligent bosses (who of course should know to open with their best attacks) becomes part of the honour code of such beings.

Perhaps some of Louise and Agnes through the POV of Botan?

On the beast forms, I feel bad for Pina the first time Silica changes if being around normal dragons sets the feathered one off.
...I see now.

The small fuzzy super boss of ALO, it was never a bunny...okay maybe there might be some elite mobs that resemble Chime Cats and I suppose there could be more than one super fuzzy boss but don't you see!?!

The Rabbit is in fact a Feathered Dragon!

Somewhere in ALO is [<Caenia the Grand Matriarch]> a feathered dragon of normal-ish size, though distinguishable by the complex ritual markings adorning her entire body. The name is a fair description, at the head of the matriarchal feathered Dragons sits the oldest, wisest and most powerful of them all.

The markings are not innate, rather they are applied first magically by the Matriarch herself (Apparently this is roughly equivalent to willingly branding your entire body. This should make clear just how tough she is. - Koko). Then painted over by subordinate Matriarchs using an unknown but highly magical substance, that unlike the first layer is not permanent and must be reapplied every few years. The markings serve practical purpose, both as magical armour and to massively buff Caenia.

The ALfheim histories state that this ceremony also involves choosing the [<Grand Matriarch]> in some way but it seems Caenia has held the position for long enough to put this in doubt. (Some Kobold carvings even suggest she is considered level with the [<Eternal Dragons]> that they worship. - Koko)

It's so damn terrifying that a sufficiently well made replica is one of the ways to bypass fighting Tanngrisnir. Throw it out there and he will flee in abject [<Terror]>

EDIT: It was a joke boss. The joke being; "Ha ha, you are dead."

agreed; seeing what conclusions people come to about the fae's behaviour and/or actions, in regards their own understanding of the world, is one of my favorite themes of this fic.

so i vote for Agnes.

I WAS PRAYING FOR THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS.

Though I would have done it differently.

Y'know, for all of TH's noted behavior to get very squicked out at... breeding. We sure are presented with a great many overviews and outlooks on the matter, so far we've had Kirito's man-pregnancy, and then a couple of others, and now we're talking about trying to breed Fae in beast form? My my, how strange our thoughts must run.

I know naught if I should be either impressed with you guys, slightly disturbed, or do my best to get my apathy barrier up and running again.

Question. If a couple did the deed while in Beast Form, what happens if the female reverts mid-event? Especially if their Beast Form is very large?
Okay...could you please stop with this.

I mean we all get it, you like to describe nasty imagery. Silica getting chopped up, women exploding, general nonsensically pointless crap. Heck I can even understand being interested in that kind of thing, I'm a massive sadist (not in the sexual sense you perverts) myself. However this is not the place for it and as it stands the only reason I can think of why you'd be posting this stuff here and not in spacedicks or some other chunk of the internet more appropriate to it, is that you are looking for reactions. Which is trolling, which is against the rules. I'm not reporting you because I really hate doing so. However I am asking, sincerely, that you please stop it. It's anti-social and more than a little childish.

Yep, now that makes perfect sense for Asuna's character :D

Ending did seem to rush in a bit though, and the line about looking at ass seemed out of place. Which probably says a lot about how much I for one have been waiting for this glorious idea to bear fruit. The line about marking territory was utterly perfect, same for needing to teach Asuna something.

Could have also done with Asuma (maybe another example of taking an older family member's name. As is Asuma is a bit too obvious) mentioning the Guiche that his wife spoke highly of him. Unfortunately Guiche is then asked about their initial meeting and punished anyway for not thinking to ask whether Midori was married/cheating on his girlfriend.

@Beast form, Yui will be...Maybe something spirity? Or something emphasising her whole, giant swords and floating thing? I believe the idea of a creature made out of blades was thrown out there a while back.

Are you trying to make her into Emiya Shirou?

Sorry. I've gotten really annoyed(pissed) at all the Gender-bending shenanigans, and that was me (pettily, I admit) venting my annoyance(anger).

Basically, how uncomfortable that post made you feel? It's how all the "fun" with the transformations are making me feeling, and it's ruining my enjoyment of the story.

So, point made, and post deleted. May I suggest another thread for the omakes?

Edit: Why did I never bring this up before? Because I was trying to be nice, and let people have their fun. Unfortunately, my patience/self-control has limits, and they've been reached. I do apologise for the mental imagery, that wasn't something I should have done.

It didn't make me personally uncomfortable. I've found very little that is capable of making me uncomfortable without physically touching me. However I am quite sure it had an effect on someone and that is the source of my post. Responding to something you don;t like by trying to do it to other people is not okay, especially when you could just as easily have said it made you uncomfortable.

That said, I am genuinely confused as to what your issue with the gender bender stuff could be. Especially given you apparently like gore so much, is it really that much worse for people to swap gender for a while? It's not like they're even changing orientation. I am even more confused as to why you continue to read the omakes if it makes you that uncomfortable. Just stick to the main story then. Sorry but given how long you've been posting stuff like that without ever explaining why, I don't have a great deal of sympathy. I do genuinely apologise for that.

Honestly I've never read Fate/Stay anything, so I have no idea. But a Valkyrie made out of swords does seem suitably guardian spirit-like.

Shouzou seems a bit "old", anyone know Asuna's brother's name?
