March 2nd
Mellisa decides to do research on the Federation Forces on Earth in order to get a better understanding of them. She grabs three intel booklets which are History of the Federation Forces, Federation Bases and the recently released March 1st Battle Reports. Mellisa goes to read them in her tent to briefly look through them.

History of the Federation Forces details the founding, military ranks and important figures of the the military force of the Federation. It has information on how before the war began Zeon and the Federation had small conflicts with one another that were never reported officially. Among them is the first deployment of the MS-05A Zaku I and the possibility that high ranking Federation officers were paid off by Zeon to hide the development of said Zakus.

Federation Bases details all the major Federation military bases on Earth and gives a general estimate of how big the forces are in each from intel Zeon has gathered. The Federation HQ Jaburo in South America, Vancouver, Californian Base and New York in North America. Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. Japan, Beijing, Madras in Asia. Torrington City in Australia. Finally, Belfast in Europe. Mellisa wonders how many of these bases she will go to during her time on the planet.

Finally, March 1st Battle Reports, a newly published report on the first four battles on Earth which were Texas, Tanzania, Poland and Japan. Mellisa only skims through Texas since she was on the front lines of the battle and goes to straight to Tanzania. The battle of Tanzania ended in a retreat from both side since Zeon forces were not used to combat on Earth and the Federation forces were out matched. The battle of Poland ended with the Federation winning and Zeon retreating thanks to the leadership of Woody Malden. Finally, the battle of Japan is still be fought right now with the report only using information reported by Zeon journalists overlooking the battle with mention that it's possible some Zakus were taken by the Federation. Mellisa finds the report the most interesting among the three though the other two are also important. She tries to figure out which one to read more into.

Mellisa decides to read more into the March 1st Battle Reports to learn more about the Federations tactics and how the other battle fronts are doing. She first looks at Tanzania where Zeon forces were untrained to deal with mountain terrain they had landed in. They were also fighting against a massive air force which hid in clouds along with foot soldiers that attempted to sabotage the Zakus. Even with these advantages the Federation still struggled since the mighty Zaku IIs could take multiple bombing before exploding and when the second wave of HLVs started to land they managed to land safely. On 5 PM East African Time, the Federation and Zeon were at a stand still. Zeon setting up camp on the mountains while the Federation refuels there air forces on the ground. Mellisa wonders if she could ask Francine if they could create a Zaku that can fight on mountains with ease.

Next is the Battle of Poland, the first battle Zeon lost in the war so far. At first Zeon was dominating the battle with Federation forces wanting to retreat until reinforcements came led by Lieutenant Moody Malden. Lieutenant Malden ordered the remaining troops to go in four separate directions which thinned out Zeon's forces and allowed his reinforcements to pick them off easily. By the end of the battle, remaining Zeon forces retreated into the night. The battle of Poland is notable for being the only March 1st battle to not have an experience officer on field who could organized the troops. Mellisa finishes reading the report and wonders if Ral or M'quve went to Europe instead of following Garma it would've went well.

Finally, the still ongoing battle of Japan. Mellisa continues reading and sees a proper battle report from a anonymous lieutenant While it seems like Zeon is attacking Japan because of it having a Federation base located in it. In reality, it is a distraction tactic for the HLVs that will be landing in Central Asia today afternoon. The field leader of the Zeon forces in Japan, Kurt Roswell and Robin Bradshaw are simply getting as much Federation forces to leave the main land for the true invading force to invade Central Asia. The stolen Zakus have trackers on them that will allow us to hunt the Federation's base of operations first hand. After Mellisa finishes reading the report she breaths a sigh of relief knowing that at least one other front's plan is going well.

Mellisa takes time to realize that if Ral and Garma weren't here the battle of Texas will still be ongoing as well. She goes about the rest of the day reading the report thoroughly before calling it a night.

March 3rd....

Francine wakes Mellisa up incredibly excited to show her the work she did. Mellisa barely has time to stretch Francine drags the tired woman to the garage to show Mellisa her work. "Behold your customized Zaku II." Francine proclaims smiling while presenting the Mobile Suit to Mellisa who is rubbing her eyes.

Mellisa opens her eyes and sees her customized Zaku II painted in shining Jade paint. Mellisa turns to Francine whose has a wide gleaming smile waiting for Mellisa's response. Mellisa takes a while to think of the right words. She holds Francine hand and says with a smile, "Thanks, Francine it looks great." Francine blushes a little and Mellisa goes into her Zaku to it take for a test ride.

The two take it to the newly constructed test fields and try it out. First, Mellisa tries out its movements and responsiveness to her. Next, is testing out the extra weight added from the Zaku Bazooka and 3-tube missile pods which thanks to the improved thruster is not a problem. Mellisa's Zaku II is ready to go and follow Garma to California. But, something is off Mellisa feels like a "monster" is about to hit her and she raises her shoulder shield in the direction she feels like its coming from.

Suddenly a missile hits Mellisa's shield and breaks it. Francine panics and calls for help. A squadron of Dopps go out to investigate while inside the Zaku II, Francine's mind filled with many thoughts like how she knew she was going to be attacked when all she felt was malice and hatred coming from that direction. Francine goes to open the Mellisa's cockpit and sees Mellisa looking at her hands in stunned. Francine and other soldiers near by take her to the medical building to be examined.

After the examination and Faris comes to check on Mellisa. The medical officer explains that Mellisa's mind suddenly sensed the "malice" was was aimed at her and she reacted instinctively. Mellisa wonders why is happened now and the officer theorizes it maybe her body getting used to Earth's gravity. The officer continues saying this has happened with multiple young soldiers and believes it's because they made be developing newtypes. He offers Mellisa to take a series test to find out if she has the potential. But, Mellisa isn't sure about it and Francine is excited pushing her to do it, "Imagine if you are a newtype. The possibilities of how we can upgrade your Zaku to work with your abilities. Just think of the popularity you'll get." Mellisa wonders if she if she even wants that kind of attention.
Faris chips in, "But, it could get you reassigned somewhere else or be sent to a lab to be tested on further." Francine pouts and argues that it won't happen. But, it is up to Mellisa on what she wants.

[X] Take the newtype tests.

Not likely to be assigned away from Garma since we already joined him.

March 3rd testing/March 4th training
Mellisa decides to take the tests. She wants to know if she is a newtype or not whether it be a good thing or bad thing just to get off her back. She is taken to a testing room to begin the tests Inside the observation room are Garma, M'Quve and Faris along with many other officers observing the testing. Outside the building is Mars, Jacobs, Mikey, Francine and George patiently waiting for their comrade to come out.

By the end of the tests, Mellisa passes each one though barely. He response time is above average, intuition is decent though selective and she can not sense danger unless it feeling an incredibly strong emotion. The examiner announcing that Mellisa is a developing Newtype. This news intrigues Garma because he now has a newtype under his command on Earth, M'Quve gets up and leave believing they shouldn't have even bothered and Faris is relieved that Garma wants to keep Mellisa close which he hopes means that she isn't going to space anytime soon. Mellisa leaves the building and runs into Francine who asks her what happened excited for what she will say.

"Well, are you a newtype?" Francine asks with excited eyes while the rest of the squad gather around Mellisa to hear the answer.

"Kind of. They said I was a developing newtype and the why I even sensed the attack was because of the incredible hatred aimed at me." Mellisa responds worried she will disappoint her squad. Francine's excitement goes down a little though she is still happy that Mellisa is indeed a newtype just not a full one yet. Garma comes out of the building followed by Faris and greets Mellisa.

"Hello, Private First Class Wild. First, you assisted in ending the battle a few days ago and now you're a newtype. I don't feel as bad for letting Ral go back to space now. Seems like the next generation of Zeon is going to do just fine down here on Earth." He says confidently. M'Quve also exits the building though going in the directions of the Mobile Suit testing facility with a stern expression. Garma says under his breath, "Of all the people my sister could send why did she have him." now then get back to what you were doing troops we have big day on the 5th." Garma then walks off towards the Gaw to prepare. Faris looks at thr squad and dismisses them.

Mellisa and Francine go back to the garage to make sure Mellisa's Zaku II is okay. They arrive and see it only needs a new shoulder shield and be repainted. Francine breaths a sigh of relief and asks Francine if she wants to stay around. Francine nods and spends the rest of the day working with Francine and the other engineers to get her Zaku II back in order for Garma's Campaign.

March 4th...

Mellisa, Jacobs and Mikey are training together in the simulator though they can't work together very well. Mellisa and Jacobs rush to the front leaving Mikey completely undefended. Jacob lack of non-close combat options leaves him vulnerable to long range attacks. Mellisa meanwhile tries to adapt to long range combat and the city environment in the mission. In the end, Jacobs is shot down, Mellisa is overwhelmed by a surprise attack and Mikey is gunned down by the remaining forces. The trio's fifth attempt at mission B-021 has failed. The B-021 mission is the newest addition to the Zeon simulators involving city environments and stolen Zaku units. Most squads have attempted the mission and have had varying results. The reason why it is only Mellisa, Jacobs and Mikey taking it is because everyone is either too busy or under watch like Mars.

Mellisa whines, "Why can't we do this?" she says kicking the floor in anger. Mikey sighs and begins setting up the mission, again.

Jacobs responds also annoyed at their consistent failure, "We need a new strategy if we want to complete this mission. It's only a matter of time before the Federation either steals our Zakus or make their own mobile suits. We need to get this figured out since we are the squad's combat efficient members."

"The Federation is busy trying to figure out how to even deal with our forces to begin even making them" Mikey replies disappointed in his teammates standing together with him.

Mellisa wonders what to do and thinks of three ideas.

[] Have Mikey cover both her and Jacobs as they advance together.

[] Suggest Jacobs tries out a new load out.

[] Scout the surrounding area ahead of time.

I apologize for not posting earlier today. It's been a rough day and each time I sat down to type something. Something else got in the way.

I promise if something like this happens, again. I will update you guys so you don't have to worry about me abandoning the quest.

[X] Scout the surrounding area ahead of time.

City fighting is all about intel. Block by block, neighbourhood by neighbourhood in a bloody grind. You want to solo a squad on your own? Try to reach at least Norris Packard's level of skill:-

[X] Scout the surrounding area ahead of time.

There are benefits to knowing our position, having a place to duck under or an escape path makes us less tense.
