Gundam Build Fighters Season 2 Confirmed For This Fall

As to the Arista though... of course it was an Arista. The Build Burning was a setting breaker. Arista's are just crystallized Plavisky particles. The Build Burning is a game breaker with a game breaker.

*finally catches up and finishes the final episodes of GBFT*

For real though, this season was great. Not sure it was as great as the first season, but it was fun an entertaining nonetheless. I'm also sad to see it end. If there's one thing that sucks about watching a great series, it's the sadness that comes with knowing it's come to an end.

The final battle between the Try Fighters and Celestial Sphere was fantastic, plenty of awesome action and support between teammates. I was especially impressed with the planet-cracking explosion at the very end of the overtime match. Seriously, holy shit.

But what I really liked was Episode 25. Good lord, I could not stop grinning/laughing.

To start, they FINALLY included the Unicorn Gundam!! I had given up hope of seeing it beyond brief model shots, but they actually gave it an action spot! Out-fucking-standing!! :D

The custom builds were also a treat. I especially liked the model with the mini-Albion support unit at the waist. Ral's Dom R35 unit was also fantastic. I also liked Minato's Super Fumina unit, although I have to agree with Tatsuya's judgement on it. It's a nice model, and it was certainly a hilarious inclusion, but Minato really should have asked Fumina's permission before using her likeness.

To be honest, I think I think I prefer the large-scale, many-unit battles to the smaller 1v1 or 3v3 battles. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of awesome fights in the latter categories, but it's just really damn fun to see all of those different units take the field at the same time. I'd love to see a season that utilized that kind of battle more often.

I do have some minor complaints though. Regarding GBFT, I think they used powerful super-moves a bit too often, particularly on the part of the Burning Gundam. Don't get me wrong, they're cool and all, but I would have liked to have seen more actual use of a solid chain of martial art techniques as opposed to mega punches and tornado kicks. And that big-ass firebird. Character development could have been more emphasized for Fumina and Sekai, but that wasn't a huge thing for me personally.

My final and biggest complaint for both seasons of GBF is that it got way too serious at points. To point out some examples, in Episode 7 of GBF when those thugs tried to forcefully extort the innkeeper out of her property, the outcome was decided by a Gunpla match. Also when Team Nemesis literally performed painful and almost certainly illegal human experiments on Aila to win the World Tournament. There's also the fact that Minato got so bent out of shape because Yuuma was too busy dealing with mental baggage to acknowledge him as a rival. I mean come on, I get that he's really into Gunpla, but Yuuma's behavior isn't something to get that upset about. Shit happens, you know? Oh yeah, and that 'particle assimilation' thing that caused actual injurous feedback to Sekai when the Burning Gundam got damaged...no. Did not like that at all. There are sports where getting injured is relatively common and expected, but a holographic simulation game with plastic models shouldn't be one of them.

But honestly, the seriousness in GBF seems universal with pretty much every other animated show based on a real life hobby activity, so I'm too surprised. None of those things take away from the fact that GBF is fun series, and I'd love to see more of it in the future if possible. :)

Uggh, it also makes me with Gunpla Battle was a real thing. Again. >_<

Now I'm reminded of that pretty epic AAR where some tabletop players in Taiwan took Mobile Frame Zero and kitbashed the rules to do tabletop gunpla battle.

Also:

Oh my god.

Someone found a way to give Tryon-3 more hotblooded super robot goodness.

IT'S BEAUTIFUL. ;_;

Could be worse, it could be TPRO-002 on sale, thus demonstrating to the world that Fumina* is lewd. :V

*(Or at least, Kawamura Maya cosplaying as Fumina :V)

I come back to this thread and immediately, it's full of lewdness everywhere.

Why.

And why I am preparing my wallet.

Breaking news!

Super Fumina turn out to be HGBF and not AGP or Figuarts.

only 1800 yen, for all the hilarity and creepiness involved.

So yeah, Mr. Ral, it's a gunpla.

Oh god my sister is going to buy it wouldn't she?

Well, MS Girls finally made it into Gunpla form instead of PVC.

Given how Super Fumina worked with the Gunpla Battle systems, they're only being show-accurate.:p

This is one HGBF I most certainly will not buy because I'd be too embarrassed to build it where people can see.

On the other hand seeing a 1/144 grade Fumina next to my other HGUCs would be lol. Supaa Fumina and Miss Sazabi fighting over GM Imouto, go :V

Okay, even though there wasn't really anyone asking for it and SV is kind of borked for me right now, i'm posting my big-ass review of GBFT. Feel free to criticize the criticism, as I'm relatively new to this.

Fumina should've been the MC, yet she wasn't. After team Try Fighters gets into the qualifiers, any personality she once had goes away, becoming just a haremette for Sekai.

Its's Gundam's take on 'Card Games save the World' what were you expecting?

Funny thing I found about this show from porn. Thank you spats Fumina

Anyway this show any good for some brainless fun?

It's pretty fun, yah, but the consensus is that generally the first series was more fun and feels. That said GBF only reaaly kicks into high gear at Episode 15, aka the validation of everyone who got into gundam with wing.
