Greatness Not Wasted! (Worm, SI/OC, Celestial Forge)

Just binge read this and have no idea how fast this updates, but damn do I need my hit soon! A Refreshing take, good job author.

Reread through everything when I got the first update. Been so long since I started reading it I forgot it but I am glad I did. It's turning out to be a pretty decent story so far. I hope James keeps in touch with Stephanie and definitely Sveta. I am also enjoying your personalization of Armsmaster. Doesn't seem to be a big dick like other stories make him out to be. Definitely looking forward to reading more.

Just wanted to drop a comment in here to say I'm thoroughly enjoying the story so far, and look forward to the next instalment. It's a breath of fresh air to read a Celestial Forge story that really engages with the world-as-it-is rather than just springboarding off of it. In particular I'm very impressed both by how viscerally you've portrayed James' struggles, and the explanations for the weird tinkertech-ness of Armsmaster's cycle.

Also, your use of The Glass Scientists' neoalchemy has given me a goof idea for how to get over a hurdle in my own writing, so thanks for that too.

Really enjoying the story so far. Very good writing, strong characterisation you're doing a good job of not writing scenes that don't advance the plot so it's moving at a good pace.

Hope it updates soon the writing is great. Though I think it updated about every once and a while... Author seems to go in short updated bursts, hope the muse kicks in soon though it's a berry good story.

I know that this is a bit late to bring it up but it seems like a relevant contribution: James can probably NOS electrical generators. Not just fuel-powered ones either; given the Perk anything that uses a turbine should be fair game.

Also Neoalchemy should provide a few decent ways to collect nitrogen from places, possibly straight up from burnt nitrous oxide, and process it into nitrous oxide. It might even be possible to supplement the generation of electricity to a greater extent then it would cost to reclaim nitrogen from the nitrous oxide used; it wouldn't make sense but it doesn't need to.

Edit: I have since learned that there are some mad motherfuckers IRL who install NOS onto chainsaws jesus fucking christ...

Edit: NOS-boosted drills and other powered-tools would probably be kind of funny; it shouldn't even be that hard to adjust some gearing between each tool so that you could just use a high-powered down-sized engine.

how will you handle the perks that give cybernetic parts like this one?

The brain of every magos undergoes extensive modification over time, but you have put great care into preparing your mind for the Machine God's mysteries. Beyond the gene-alterations and bionic sub-systems that have boosted your intelligence, regulated neuro-chemistry reduces the influence that hunger, pain, fear and other flesh-distractions can have upon your thoughts. Your ability to enjoy these things are not impeded. Further neurological modifications will be faster and easier to adapt to with less worry of rejection.

will it count as an item or will it count as a power?
