Girl's Frontline: Wicked Animandum

remember that SF likes to infect their gear with parapluie, it might not be worth the risk of infection if we take the visor, so unless we know for certain we should leave it behind.

[X] "I have a different strategy this time… you're gonna love it." ;3
Aaaaagh. The catface is irresistible.
[X] Catch the blade.
Ooh, i feel like that's going to bite Veresk hard one day.
[X] Scavenge the brute.
-[X] Take its knives.
-[X] Take its footwear, give to SPP.
Seriously, Veresk needs to have a restraint in her murderhobo ways. Visor is a contentious option. Now's not exactly the time to thoroughly check it for paraplue vector.

Glad QM is ramping up the severety of the engagements.

Time to practice with our e-war module on that visor. We got to start learning to bypass sangvis malware at SOME point. The visor is likely to be a good easy start.

Issue is SF has access to T-doll programming language, while Veresk (or anyone else) does not have SF's, so every time a Doll comes in contact with SF's programming they have a high chance of being infected.
While its obvious that not everything would carry something like Parapluie on board, it's mere existence suggests that anything with SF software is a high risk item.

As Kaazimz said its not the smartest idea trying to work on SF gear, we have no idea if it carries anything that could affect us so its best just to leave it be, its not really not worth the risk at the moment.

Veresk lines (fanmade)
So Izzick and I took some time to figure out Veresk's ingame dialog and here's what we cane up with

Edit:Lurkman has edited the grammar and reminded us of holiday lines
Added Kaazmiz's lines
Acquisition: "So you're the new boss, just let me know what you need."

Introduction:

Talk 1: "Need something special? I'll see what I can get my hands on."

Talk 2: "No Epsilon (Impulse), I am not going to do that no matter how shiny it is."

Talk 3: "You know, Hunter wasn't this handsy with me, and she was practically all over me."

Talk 4 (post-Oath): "Did you see something you like? Just tell me and it could be ours."

Oath: "So not only have I stolen your Dolls, I've also stolen your heart. Don't worry, I take good care of my belongings~"

Greeting: "I wasn't expecting you right now... Of course it's safe, I'm a professional!"

T-doll produced: "She fell off the back of a truck. Yes that's what happened, nothing more."

Joining an echelon: "Oh a new team, I'll try and keep them out of trouble."

Enhancement: "This is mine now, you know you're not getting it back."

Dummy linking: "Now I've got another voice in my head... don't worry, I'm quite used to it."

Start logistics: "I get a finders' fee, right?"

End logistics: "I'm back, I'll be in my room... cleaning..."

Auto battle: "Don't worry, I won't do anything too illegal... well, nothing that can be traced back here."

Beginning mission: "Remember, fight smart and fight well."

Starting battle: "They spotted us, get ready."

Skill 1: "Try to stay in one piece."

Skill 2: "Catch!"

Skill 3: "I've only got enough explosives for some of you, the rest can share."

Heavily damaged: "No no, let's not do it nice and quiet, let's alert everyone."

Retreat: "Join Griffin they said, it will be fun they said."

MVP: "I'm getting first pick."

Repair: "This stings... could you send me a cutie for moral support?"

Halloween:"Trick or treat? No,no,no~ It's stun grenade or loot~"

Christmas: "Here's your gift. Stolen? Well that's just rude, I worked very hard on acquiring it."

New Year's:

Valentines':
"You wanted chocolate instead of a lollipop? I could give it to AA-12... oh, you are keeping it~"

Tanabata:

I can propose:
Valentines as: "You wanted chocolate instead of a lollipop? I could give it to AA-12... oh, you are keeping it~"
Halloween as: "Trick or treat? No,no,no~ It's stun grenade or loot~"

We really shouldn't take the visor, SF is known for trapping their gear. Even though we are an E war unit it might not be enough to counter what might be on it so we really should leave it behind.

Edit: Lurkman are you able to tell us if the visor has any sort of computer systems in it or is it just a fancy set of glasses?

This seems like something Veresk would need to verify through a vote before picking it up.
-Pick up visor
--Check if contains electric components
--If yes, leave. If no, take.

But I don't think there is enough time for that given the prior accurate mortar shelling. Also the Brute unit might have been the actual spotter, so her visor would be a prime suspect as a data and coms unit of sorts.
Too many IF's, not enough time.

In addition to what Kaazie here said, it's a grab it or leave it situation. Veresk will already be getting odd looks for looting an enemy just after it almost killed one of her allies (whops, did I forget to mention that?~) so there's no time to check over it all.

Though, since Veresk is aware of this fact I guess I should make it clear to voters as well: yes, the visor does indeed contain electronics and a connection port. Do with that information what you you will.

Hold on... when's update day again? ... oh fuck...

So at this point we can only hope people are willing to change their votes, or we get stuck with a rather... interesting and slightly dangerous item.
And odd looks.
Many odd looks

You say that like we aren't already getting odd looks, you know with how we have both Hunters hair clips and hairstyle as well as the other SF items

[X] "Of course, how else would I get you to crash full force into a ringleader?"
[X] Catch the blade.
[X] Scavenge the brute.
-[X] Take its knives.

*Sigh* Fine. Since my question about us having a faraday pocket or something were never answered I'll switch to not grabbing it. Can't risk a tracking device right now.

Oh, sorry mate, kinda forgot about answering that one. The answer is no. Although it would he hella cool and fitting for V's poncho to have such shielded pockets (or even shield herself entirely) it wouldn't make sense to have it just appear right now when it wasn't there for whole quest until now. Though I might definitely allow something like that the be acquirable later down the line.

Gonna upgrade that poncho till the anvil breaks XD

It should be possible for V -in a vote (back in base, in the future)- to contemplate her inability to seize SF electronics, and attempt to rescind this shortfall.

The base should have common packaging aluminium foil in stock for foodstuffs, and its possible to make an elastic Faraday cage with these by applying 2-3 layers, and taping it together to prevent surface breaks. While putting it in a sock, or cut off sweater sleeve will dull the crunching noise.

It also just occurred to me that this stories timelines and Columbas sudden closure might weirdly connect to the Butterfly Incident.
Would be nice to find '45 and help her get '40 back. Or pull her towards the insane 'dummies in my head' camp~

I would definitely be astonished if it turns out that Columbia is completely uninvolved in any kind of nefarious conspiracy. Or that Veresk lacks a killswitch. Or that all of our dummies are perfectly honest with Alpha. And it's not even a stretch seeing how every in game event led to some sort of conspiracy or a plot twist reveal.

Just need a roll of aluminium foil.

Veresk is a perfectly innocent doll with no agenda or unique backstory.
All present quirks, like fondness for SF gear, dummy personality disorder, and trolling IOP manufactured dolls, is merely that- a quirk- and has absolutely no relation to any nonexistent backstory of secretly being an SF product, housing a personality duplicator, or being employed by a shady information broker in a post apocalyptic world that was shut down in a purely coincidental manner just as the Butterfly Incident unfolded.
No.
Shes perfectly innocent! Those are merely fan theories!

Now where is my tinfoil cone of government repulsion?

You know how we can tell that Veresk isn't an SF doll, she doesn't monolog and she's too sassy as well, unless it's just one big conspiracy to get to the ultimate prize. AA-12 super-secret stash of lollipops.
That or Veresk turns out to be the true mastermind behind SF and the current mastermind is one of her many dummies

Ah, but UMP-40&45 don't do that either so there is precedence for covert trolls!

Elisa is smoll enough~

Well, that or Veresk accidentally acted as a ringleader in the past few months and its part of her 'lost memories'.
Or that saved T-doll in the camp...

Oh this is too much fun!~~
Lyco wen't and made an AI so good it manages to perfectly mimic humans, including mental trauma to a point where Veresk manages to deceive herself of what wen't on in SF, changing its name internally to "Columba Company" and Lyco as the company owner that was taken to trial. And the town shes trying to reach is a hardware stash to fix herself up...
Mindfuck everywhere 🤣

That would explain how much she likes to take SF gear and how she talks to the ringleaders like their equals

Will you please stop spoiling the plot, man from the future? You're ruining the suspense and mystery XD

All in all, interesting theories everyone. I will not confirm nor disprove anything, though keep in mind that I am not the best of writers, so don't expect too much from me. I'm just trying to have fun writing the story of one hella sassy T-doll building her dream harem army of free dolls like an eroge protagonist a lil' Big Boss. Though I might still surprise you! Both Veresk's past and future will keep being expanded upon, but the main factor will always be the votes of you guys. This SMG is the work of all of us, so let's help her on her quest for epic loot and world domination!
