General Purpose DC Lore Help Thread, Hopefully

And Bruce has been through at least three Robins since then. One of whom is a ten year old fathered when Bruce was Batman and well established as such for years.

But he's only been Batman for about a decade at most and is still in his thirties.

Until they admit that Bruce logically must be nearer to 50 than 30, the math will never add up.

*insert obligatory hypertime meme*

Isnt there also lore the Waynes have had a bat theme for like the entire line? I think it was from the whole "Darkseid zapped Bruce through time " thing.

I'm turning this into a general purpose DC Lore help thread, because goodness knows I need the help, and maybe someone else might need help, too. (Feel free to jump in if you have your own questions, in other words. What, am I gonna complain about more information being dispensed here?)

Anyway, my new, non-Green-Lantern-related question is this: Are there any canonical United States government organizations tasked with/in charge of integrated refugees/immigrants from other planets/universes/etc.?
I don't think so, but the DC US Government has, like a at least a dozen outfits tasked with dealing with super-stuff, and also there's international ones, or ones that go back and forth on who they work for.

Considering it's the US Government we're talking about, I hope it's the Justice league that handles Immigrants. I trust Wonder Women way more then the US emigration agency.

Bit confused by this statement, since the Justice League is not an agency of the US Government.

They have sanction from the UN, or did at one point, but even then they don't work for them either, it's basically the member states giving the League permission to act in their territory.

There have been story arcs where this nation or that nation declares that superheroes from America aren't allowed to operate on their soil though, but that's related to the citizenship of the individual heroes, not the League in general. Given that one of the most prominent members is generally the head of state of a sovereign nation, and another is the accredited ambassador of a sovereign state to...actually, hey exactly what is Diana officially ambassador to?

That said, they have periodically gone on missions given to them by the US or UN or some other government, but that's more of a "X asked us to look into this, and we get along with them so..."

Bumping this thread because I've got a DC question here: Are there any good examples in comics or other media of Barbara Gordon doing fighting stuff while she was still in a wheelchair. I mean, obviously she wasn't a frontline fighter, but the DC database page seems to imply she could fight to some extent. I was curious, though, so I'm wondering if there are any concrete examples of it actually happening in-comic. I mean, there must be, right?

Well, in Birds of Prey #107, she beats the crap out of her rival, Spy Smasher. I vaguely remember a few other times, but not specific issues.

She uses two battons, (sticks, basically) and may have trained with Nightwing on them.

So I started a fic, recently, that starts out with Green Lantern (Hal, in case that matters) contacting Batman to alert him that a dimensional tear was detected in Gotham City.

Only...is Green Lantern really the best character to have alert Batman of this? I mean, I have to admit, the main reason I went with Green Lantern is because I couldn't think of anyone else. Is there a character better suited to contact Batman and go "hey, a dimensional bleedthrough's been detected [by who?????? with what??????? past-writer-me sure was merrily unspecific] in Gotham City; maybe you should look at these coordinates since you're already there"?

I mean, an obvious choice among "characters who would notice if a hole in the multiverse suddenly opened up and deposited something and then closed up again" would be the Monitors, natch (or just the one Monitor, depending on your continuity). But I kind of doubt the Monitor has Bat's cellphone number.

You could have tech in the JLA Moonbase or Satellite detect it, and whomever's on duty calls Batman.

What type of dimensional tear? If it's scifi Hal is perfectly fine, but if it's magic that gives you an excise to bring in Etrigan

Also on the Lantern topic, I'm trying to come up with a list of lantern corps, artifacts like power rings, and power ring adjacent factions. So far I have:
  • The Manhunters
  • The ROYGBIV corps, including at least two editions of the Green Lanterns
  • Black and White
  • Ultraviolet Lantern Corps (Umbrax-zombies)
  • Anti-Green Lanterns
  • Poglachian Green Lanterns
  • Effigy Corps
  • Darkstars
  • The Corpse (black ops group under the Guardians)
  • Amber Butane Corps (Ambush Bug)
  • Ring of Volthoom / Power Ring Corps (though there's only one at a time in the real world)
  • Star-Band (Evil Star's implement)
  • Steam Lantern (one-off knockoff)
  • Lantern Corps of China
  • Teen Lantern's Power Glove
Is there anything I'm missing?

The Phantom Ring. Aka: the proof-of-concept prototype one Guardian made.
