A story of a self insert with a power inspired by Tinker of fiction..
Waking Up

Jaune Pendragon

King Of Servants
Location
Avalon
Upon waking up I found myself absolutely terrified.

Terrified because I didn't know where I was. I woke up in a bed that is not mine.

In a body that is not mine. I found myself in a strange shack, but there was no one in it.

There was no huslte and bustle of a city outside even though I saw several other houses though the windows.

I opened the door and took a few steps outside.

This didn't look like a city.. More like a small village.

"Hello?!" I called out. "Is anybody there?"

I didn't get any responses. It was eerily silent.

It was dark and the light of the moon was the only light that lit the path.

Wait the moon?

I looked up and terror filled my heart..

It was shattered.

The fuck?

A flash of light pulled me out of my shock and a piece of paper fell on my face. Pulling it away I read it.. And the dread in my gut intensified.

Your currently in remnant. You have one power. A Tinker power, inspired by tinker of fiction. However you have to choose which setting you want from any fiction that you know. Be careful though.. You cannot take a new setting for a week so choose wisely.

I felt a tiny bit of relief as I began to feel it.

It was there in the back of my mind, it was like a superposition. Unable to settle down into any single focus.

Waiting.

Waiting for my decision.

This place was likely abandoned.

But now that I was here the grim would likely sense me.

However since I was a single person. There wouldn't much..

Still.

What I needed was to pick a setting.

I had to be careful which one I picked it from though...very careful...

Before I chose a setting I first needed to see what resources I had.

So then I went. One by one, checking each building.

They were mostly empty homes and I even found on with a cellar willed with all kinds of alcohol.

Then there was a Forge... I assume a black Smith was there from the blade and a few tools that were left. It had a forge that ran on dust. This place must have evacuated quickly because there was a lot of dust.

Red burn dust in the Forge...

There were a few other stores, and I was quite lucky to find an electronics store and a grocery store.

Though there was a huge amount of mold in the section where the forest food was as they were abandoned.

Food sealed in cans and MREs were still likely edible.

I also found a well with a hand pump, it was in fairly good working order.

However, a lot of the houses had damage on several Places with a hole in the wall and claw marks here and there.

They looked really old.

This place hadn't been lived in for a long time.

I also found a small farm through the soil was hard and the final place of importance was the largest building. It didn't look like most houses.

It also had few turrets on its roof that were completely mangled and at the Centre of this little settlement.

Perhaps a City hall? No this was a little village... So a Village hall?

Either way, it looked important and it was also the most damaged.

Removing the debris that blocked the entrance I entered.

Skeletons...

There were skeletons here.

They didn't evacuate...

There were so many skeletons.

People who hadn't been able to escape had been trapped here.

It was all I could do not to throw up, but for now, I need to find what resources this place might have.

I did find things that I guessed were Scrolls. But when I tried to access them they only displayed a Battery low image before snapping shut.

Well so much for that.

I began to look through the documents I could find and eventually I found something.

This village was a village made of just Faunus.

Faunus that couldn't take the discrimination from others and made there little own haven far out from any other Kingdom. Menagerie was an insult to them so they made this place...

It lasted for 15 years before the Grimm slowly overwhelmed them. They had grown within the fifteen years, becoming a thriving Faunus community but the huge number of Faunus meant that meant more Grimm were attracted.

Eventually, even their defences couldn't hold out.

Their wall broke.

There guards defeated.

They had all died together huddling together in the centre of the village, this town hall fighting to their last breath.

They didn't bother calling for help because they knew none would come.

After all, why would any kingdom send their own huntsman so far out? Especially for a town filled with just Faunus?

I closed the Journal.

Whoever had written this documented everything that happened here. But there was no name.

It was then I decided.

Once I was able to make this place secure.

I was going to take every single Faunus who wanted to leave the humans with me, and fuck of into space, perhaps take the humans who know not to be an asshole just because someone looks a bit different. Perhaps find another world and conolise it. A place where they can live their life happily.

Let Ozpin and Salem and the rest of the assholes continue their war.

With my mind made up, I finally decided on what my first specialization would be.

RWBY

After all, if I didn't understand how the things here worked that would be pretty strange.

Not to mention I would be able to repair the turrets on the walls and perhaps install new ones.

Cracking my knuckles, I selected it. And a wealth of knowledge opened up within my mind...

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I didn't know how long I had until Grimm started sensing me. Or whether there were already in their way.

So first things first, get the defences back up and running again.

Thankfully the Blacksmith also doubled as an armoury and it a lot of materials and ammunition.

Several of the turrets at the walls were mangled pretty badly.

Not only that but after careful observation, it was released that they were also horribly inefficient and guzzle ice dust like nothing to keep it from overheating.

It was purposely designed to fail if it was stressed too much.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if it was indeed intentional.

I removed the ice dust system and used the Forge to make large fins instead, designed it to fit it where the Ice dust cooling system flowed through, then I welded it with a miniature welder.

This universe certainly knew how to miniaturize stuff, this was thanks to the huge energy density of dust.

No wonder this place didn't have chemical or batteries. Even at a low efficiency of 25 per cent, the internal combustion engine outperforms the best battery in terms of energy-to-weight ratio, and Dust?

Dust leaves both of them in the dust.

Dust was perhaps the densest energy I knew only beaten by Nuclear fission or Fusion from what I remember studying.

And from what I can understand Nuclear energy was not something that was under my RWBY speciality. Which means they haven't discovered it and likely never will due to the abundance of dust.

But like all non-renewable sources, it was going to run out eventually even as abundant as it is.

Regardless. The turret now had 6 large fins on each of its sides jutting out now, the fins would provide a large thermal mass to absorb the heat when it's firing continuously and dissipate the heat into the air. It was no radiator and could not dissipate the heat as quickly but it was robust and could absorb a large amount heat without wasting all that ice dust.

Once done, I went to the watchtower and found the system connected to all the turrets.

Thankfully it was still in working condition, it just needed to refill its lightning dust reserves. Once I grabbed some lightning dust from the armoury and refilled the system I fired it up.

The system was fairly simple though, not really that powerful though. Hell, it was perhaps as powerful as a regular home system.

Not only that, unfortunately, I found out that it was not an automatic targeting system.

It needed an operator to run it...

And it was connected to only one turret...

I don't know if this was for redundancy or not. Oh, who am I kidding? This wasn't redundancy this was sabotage!

They didn't want the Faunus to have good products.

For now, I began the start-up process for the turret.

Though immediately I got an error saying that it couldn't be activated as the cooling system wasn't active.

Of course, it wasn't, I had removed that inefficient dust guzzling piece of junk!

It took a few minutes before I managed to get it to ignore it and start up the turret anyway.

I had to come back to this later when I was more secure.

For now, the turret was now active I had 7 others to activate and fix, it took me 2 hours to get this done.

This was going to be a long night.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It took me 4 hours to finish bringing the other 7 turrets on the wall online.

I had first gone back to the smithy and used the dust for, to forge 7 more pairs of bulky fins which were basically huge heatsinks.

Then gathered as much of the ammunition and lightning dust for the computers as I could and loaded them onto a cart along with the tools.

Once all the price of crap cooling systems had been replaced and the turrets reloaded and activated on each corner of the wall I was too tired.

My stomach growled and I was hungry as well.

I was still not done.

I was still not safe as there was still no one to operate the systems if Grimm came.

For now, I needed to rest though, my muscles were screaming at me.

But u needed to get something to eat.

I entered one of the less damaged houses.

I did manage to find a few canned goods.

Can of mushroomed postage.

Just add water and heat while simmering.

It would do for now.

I had grabbed a pistol from the armoury before I began my repairs.

If a Grimm did manage to get in while I was still repairing the defence it didn't want to defenceless.

The warm instant mushroom portage heated my cold body in the night. I'd say I had a few hours before dawn.

Once I finished the mushroom potage I completely conked out as soon as I found a bed completely ignoring my state of dress.

A Moral Conundrum.
I hadn't realised, I could see in the night so clearly, it was obvious that I was a faunus.

Not just that... I could see so far away. When I stood at the centre of the town, I could easily make out the details on trees that are extremely far away with ease.

The other that I could turn my neck far beyond what should normally be possible...

I was an Owl faunus... Which was kind of silly... But unlike most faunus, my features made it extremely easy to hide in plain sight no human would think that I was a faunus unless they see me turning my head 270 degrees.

Faunus however had enhanced senses and overall better eyesight even if not sharp as mine.

But back to business.

I had slept quite well, the sun was rising and my muscles felt refreshed.

Strange. I expected to feel sore all over, but I didn't. I wonder why?

Shrugging I got one another canned pottage for breakfast and then headed to the electronics store to pick up several parts I needed to make the defence actually work.

I used the roof of the Electronics store to build an antenna. With it completed I connected it to the store's computer and created a wireless network connecting all the turrets systems to this wirelessly.

Once I was sure all the turrets were still functioning I began the final piece that would actually make the system work.

Virtual Intelligence.

Something to control the turrets even without me constantly present to aim and fire the Goddamn thing.

I sat down and began the long long process of coding...

This was going to take a while.

________________________________________________________________________________________

My back and my hands were aching by the time I had finished my rudimentary VI. I had to access the CCT even if the connection was not that good. I disliked connecting to it as that might catch the attention of someone. But I had to download footage of Grimm to feed to the VI so that I could run simulations.

But with all the 8 systems at the turrets and the computer I was using to write the VI into existence being in a network I had the processing power of 9 systems working together was enough to speed up the simulations and the processing.

It took nearly 7 hours to complete and the VI was finally active. Once I managed to confirm it was indeed active and keeping an eye out I disconnected from the CCT network immediately. I didn't want to linger any more than I had to.

But the defences were finally online.

I could finally relax.

____________________________________________-__-________________________-_---___-_-_____________________-__

Once I relaxed and took a bath using a large tub and the hand-pumped well.

I felt refreshed even if I was stuck in this dying world.

Right now then first, I had limited resources. This village was abandoned.

I was running on a timer unless I found a way to get more resources.

Or build something that would make more resources.

I had water which I could draw from the well.

I had food in the form of canned food.

I needed to create something that would

While there was a good stockpile or dust it was still limited. I would run out eventually.

So I needed to build something that would I could use in the place of dust to power the systems before I run out, not only that the ammunition for the turrets was also limited.

Now if it was a Laser turret or something similar then I wouldn't have to worry about running out of ammunition but they weren't.

The RWBY especially I picked gave me a lot of good ways to make something more efficient, Miniaturize, add modularity and even program quite well. But running on things other than dust or Aura? Yeah, that wasn't in its kit.

So for now all I could do was improve what I have and perhaps repair some of the other turrets within the village.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The week passed quickly with the turrets on the walls firing at any Grimm that rarely came into its range. I guess as a single person I do not emit as much negative emotions compared to hundreds of people.

But I digress. I did clean out the ridiculous DISGUSTING mold in the grocery store.

A shiver passes through my spine just remembering that monstrosity.

It was the most horrifying experience I've ever had using the rotting food as compost after on the dry soil of the farmland.

It was too much.

But it had to be done.

I didn't know how else I was going to get food. The canned stuff might last me about 5 to 6 months but after that?

Yeah.

As disgusting as it was it would help fertilise the land so I did it.

Not sure how long it would take though.

I also found another system, though this one was in quite a bad shape. It took a while to patch it up. Once completed I plugged it into the network, increasing the overall processing power of the grid.

I also managed to find a Bulldozer within the farm's garage. Not even sure what that was even used for though.

But it does give me an idea of what to choose for my next speciality.

I lay down in my bed waiting. I knew tonight was the day I get a new charge, and I already had an idea for it.

I had food to last months.

Dust? It would last me 2 months if I stretched it.

Ammunition? Depended on the frequency of Grimm attacks, how many and how strong they were.

So my next specialization had to be something...

I was not sure if this would work.

It was going to be a test.

If it worked though then I would have to worry about defence or power...

Though still, I wasn't sure how I could get the supplies for it.

If it didn't work I can try something more manageable next week.

Then I felt it.

I could think of many that I wanted, but at the moment while I had a limited number of resources I was also quite vulnerable if those defences failed.

Not to mention had no idea how far I was from any of the kingdoms.

I originally thought that I could perhaps go with Command and Conquer Generals, though it might use up a lot of materials to build it would also give me a nearly endless supply of power if I managed to build a cold fusion reactor, and building the Laser turrets would mean I would have a very powerful defence system that also had endless ammunition so long as power was available. It has a huge startup cost but also a lot of returns even if some of them won't be useful without people to use them.

Danmachi and Skyrim might be much easier to use as I already had a Forge but compared to the others it's not as reliable... Except for potions... Though I highly doubt I would be able to get some of the ingredients. So that's out.

Fallout 4 on the other hand is something that would actually help a lot with my situation. Especially with the limited amount of resources I had, while I didn't have anyways of getting heavy metal isotopes like uranium or plutonium I could still solve my energy problem. Because of fusion cores and fusion cells they would likely use hydrogen which was abundant.

Then there was Atom the Beginning... It would help me built robots... Very very powerful robots... But I didn't have the time nor the resources at this moment.

Finally, Angel beats, what really caught my attention was the Angel Player. How it works I had no idea but if it could rewrite reality or perhaps grant me abilities that she had, it would make me a whole lot less vulnerable to anything that might get past the current defences.

So I decided. For now, I would choose Angel Beats as it had the least likely need for heavy resources. In the coming week, I could get Command and Conquer and if I can find a way to get enough resources to build all the Laser turrets I desired.

With a deep breath, I commanded it and the second charge finally settled from its superposition and I knew.

I knew.....

I knew how to make SUPER SPICY MAPO TOFU!

In all seriousness, I first needed several powerful systems and equipment.

Onwards to the Electronics store!

_______________________________________________________________________________

As I was assembling a new system to program the angel player, an alert popped up on the defence grids central system...

Turret number 5 and 6 detected three life forms and the VI was requesting my input.

Turning to the defence grid system I activated the turrets feed and the VI showed me the two feeds that were currently being viewed.

Who the hell?

There were three people, two on them were attacking one person with a white cloak.

Wait, that was Tyrian! And the other I didn't recognize was attacking the one in the white cloak, whoever it was was likely someone Salem wants dead.

Honestly, I didn't want to involve myself with Ozma's and Salem's war.

But if my guess was correct this was Summer Rose...

Though If I attack now it would bring Salems attention to me.

So how would I go about this? If I had finished the new system and had Angel Player ready and it's programs done. I might be able to join the battle myself...

But right now I only had the turrets, and perhaps and weapons I could find within the armour...

What to do?

To interfere or not that is the decision...

Escaping the Jaws of Death.

______________________________________________________________________________________
I'm not sure how long Summer could hold out on her own.

But I had one option...

I had a Gun I build using (RWBY) inspired by the Hecate II from GGO.

It was something I had to build because I knew that there were very powerful grim out there that the turrets bullets might not have enough power to penetrate.

Or case like this. A person with Aura.

I didn't know how much Aura tyrian had left.

But I highly doubt his Aura would survive a bullet from my RWBY Hecate II.

A heavy 50.calibur bullet travelling at Mach 3.3?

Even what even insane reflexes he had he wouldn't be able to doge if he couldn't sense it coming.

He wouldn't hear it as it was thrice as fast as sound.

He won't sense me as I didn't have an Aura and even if I did, with my owl sight, the targeting system within the scope and the scope itself i was right now on the tallest building in the village.

I was on top of the abandoned CCT extender.

I only had 4 bullets as I prioritize the density, stability of the Bullets and the power of the propellant, a mixture of fire and water dust in a 5 to 1 ratio.

When ignited the mixture, the fire dust doesn't just explode, since it is also mixed with water dust it also generates steam....and believe me, the tests were explosive indeed. It was why I didn't have time to create a lot of bullets. I had to make sure the Hecate II was made from alloys that could withstand such high pressures, which I managed to do by using Gravity dust during the forging process to make sure the structure was rigid enough.

Now I lay on my stomach as I began linking the scopes systems to the defence grid and it directed me to where the fight was ongoing.

Holy hell, she was still going strong.

I took a slow breath closing my eyes and opening them looking through the scope and the readings.

Patience is key here. Ignore everything else. The sun beating overhead. The birds chirping.

Ignore them.

Breathe in.

I couldn't act too quickly.

I didn't know what kind of ridiculous semblance they had, but I couldn't be too careful.

Breathe out.

Tyrian was completely all over the place. He was far too chaotic that the defence VI couldn't figure out any patterns for him at all.

Breathe in.

But whoever the other person they were merely providing him support, and not actively participating in the battle.

Which means if I could take out Tyrian then Summer would likely be able to take care of the other one...

Breathe in.

I had to wait...

I placed a finger on the trigger ready to pull it in an instant.

Target locked.

4.2 Kilometers to Target.

Breathe out.

I had to wait for the one moment where he lets his guard down.

________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________

Summer kept her breathing even as she dodged another volley of bullets and ducked under Tyrians before she backflipped avoiding another slice from the insane man.

Honestly, it was at times like this she wished she was good with weapons, but she always found her own body to be the best weapon.

Dodging several more stokes she retaliated with quick powerful blows to the man's chest before she narrowly dodged his tail changing his fighting style abruptly ducking under it and quickly sweeping a leg under him in an attempt to take him off guard but his the other one began to shoot at her and she had to get out of the way, jumping back with several backflips before finally landing back on her feet.

Honestly, if she had been using a weapon it was likely she would have lost it already.

Unlike normal weapons which had to be constantly upgraded, or perhaps refitted when one grew or they learned more. Her body was something that she could continuously get stronger and besides she never felt connected to any weapon.

Taiyang has a weapon, Qrow has a weapon, RAVEN has a weapon but until now she had not managed to find something that clicked with her, and so she refined her own body, mastering martial arts, building up her Agility, speed and strength.

She'd really have to really thank Taiyang for helping her train when she gets back.

With a breath, she channel's some of her Aura through her body increasing her speed and strength as she bent down...
Tyrian began to laugh again for some reason again for what reason she didn't know.

But he was going down!

She wiped the blood off her lips, and then she moved, the ground beneath her feet forming an indent as she pushed against it closing the distance between her and her opponent, whose grin only widened in excitement.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

How large is was Tyrian's Aura?

She had been fighting against him quite a while now, she didn't even know where they were now as they had continued to move throughout there battle.

All of a sudden she froze.

Her semblance picked up something.

There was someone else.

A settlement nearby?

Out all the way here?

She didn't know but she had to make sure that the battle didn't reach any innocents.

If Tyrian knew that there was someone there he wouldn't hesitate to use them against her.

For now, she merely had to keep them away from where ever that was.

She continued to fight, even as mad and unpredictable as Tyrian was she was still the leader of STRQ, she wasn't going to lose to him.

Unfortunately for her, as good as a huntress she was she was trained to fight Grimm far more than humans...

And Tyrians was utterly mad, he threw dirt in her eyes when he fell down, he grabbed her cloak to try and trip her even at times pretended to play dead.

Summer was one of the most powerful hunters. But Tyrian wasn't a Hunter, he was an Assasin, an Assasin that was completely mad.

One who would do anything to achieve Victory for his goddess.

Summer was straight forward.

She used her arms and legs, her punches were strong and fast enough to shatter most Grimm masks when she used channelled her Aura to her limbs.

She was honest and earnest and she disliked fighting dirty no matter what her teachers told her.

It worked well against Grimm, but I this case even as strong and fast as she was still lost.

Tyrian had large reserves, as well as a blessing, form his goddess but he specialised in killing people, not fighting them.

She was completely exhausted, her Aura flickered as it was near empty, her muscles screaming at her for the first time in a long long while.

"Oh My, my, I really really Enjoyed that dance! Oh, I do wish we could have been friends. But unfortunately for you." Tyrian's grin widened as she pressed his foot on the downed summers chest. "You killed a Titan! One of Salem's dearest children." He began cackling again as she struggled to find strength again but it was no use. She couldn't even use her laser eyes as he was not a Grimm. "That's a big Nono! So my goddess gave me this task. Oh dear, dear. It was such a wonderful dance, wasn't it?? But I do apologise for one again!"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

His Guard was finally down, and not moving about fucking everywhere.

It was now or never!

I breathed in, my eyes focusing on him, and the scope system's making the final calculations to the wind speed and other deviations.

Steady!

Breathe out.

And I pulled the trigger

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Summer was nearly ready to try using her semblance even with her dangerously low Aura as Tyrians tail neared her eyes H he stopped all of a sudden. He turned towards where she sensed then the person.

Did he notice?

but before she could worry any further his head exploded like a grape before a sound like a crack of thunder reached her. His body falling back limp, blood sprouting from the now headless body.

A Sniper?

Here?

Was that who she sensed?

Unfortunately Tyrian wasn't the only enemy.

As she turned around she saw the other man who had his gun pointing straight at her.

Her Aura was shattered. And as fast as she was she was nowhere near fast as a bullet.

Her eyes widened in terror as the man raised his gun directly to her head.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I winced but held firmly in place as felt a bruise forming over my shoulder where the recoil hit.

Tyrian was down, his Aura was low enough that the bullet popped his head like a balloon.

But it was not over, the second one who had been hiding while Tyrian was fighting Summer decided it was time to be stupid when there was a Sniper and came out of his hiding spot and raised his gun towards the downed summer.

I ignored the stunning pain in my shoulders and arm as I reloaded I didn't have time, to use the targeting system, I activated Laser sights instead.

Took aim and Fired!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Only to falter as huge red dot appeared next to her before it moved towards the man.

His eyes widened realising what it was but it was too late.

The shot fired as soon as the red dot landed on his hand.

He had Aura but nowhere near even a fraction of Tyrians level as the Bullet hit the man's hand hard causing his Aura to shatter and him to drop the gun to the ground and cradle his hands in pain.

But then the red dot moved to his chest next and the man froze as he saw it.

A few seconds passed but the Sniper didn't fire again.

A warning.

Oh god, please don't tell me.... that smell...

Yep, the man had soiled himself... But atleast he was running away now.

When he did the dot disappeared.
She turned toward where she sensed the person, who was that Sniper though?

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"FUUUUUCK MY SHOULDER! MY FUCKING SHOULDER!"

"FUUUUUCK!"

Talking..... Lots of Talking!
Summer was in awe as she watched the young boy who couldn't have been older than 9 the same age as her Little Sun Dragon, code on one hand as if he was an expert.

His hair was a shiny midnight black with a neatly combed sine hairstyle with upside down half framed glasses that looked like prescription glasses. His clothes were very loose, a loose long sleeved black shirt and black long pants.

"Ahem" Summer fake coughed to get the boy's attention. Who paused his coding and turned to her.

"Yes?"

"First of all I'd like to thank you for saving my life."

"It's nothing" the boy waved with injured arm which was on a sling.

"It isn't noting." Sumeer denied, "you saved my life. That isn't nothing."

Th boy remained silent as he went back to coding what ever he was on his strange laptop.

"So where are your parents?"

"Not in this world."

Oh...of course. She had hoped that wasn't the case but the entire town was a ghost town with several places showing signs of damage from grimm.

So maybe he had a guardian?

"Then where is your guardian? shouldn't he be here?"

"Don't have one. Don't care." The boy replied flippantly and Summer's breath hitched.

This boy was living alone? All on his own? He had saved her, brought her in the village and fed her when she couldn't move until her Aura as able to push Tyrians poison out.

This little kid who couldn't be older than 12 cooked and fed her when she could barely move, helping her to the bathroom when she needed it.

She had suspected something was wrong when she saw no one else but for a child to be living alone? To be so flippant of the fact that he didn't have anyone...

What had this child gone through?

"Would you like to come with me?"

The boy paused his face turning to her "What do you mean?"

"Well, I have two daughters who are a younger than you but Taiyang did want a boy..."

"No thanks. I've been living here long before you came and I can continue to do so. " The boy refused and turned back to his work.

Summer was stunned. She had not expected that.

That wasn't good. She couldn't under good conscience leave the little kid alone.

"You can't stay here alone, young man."

"I can and I will." The boy replied without even looking back at her as he continued to type on the laptop.

"Then what about your parents. Don't you think they would want you to be happy?" The boy stopped at that and turned to her.

"Don't you think I don't know that? Huh, what my parents want doesn't matter because they aren't in this world!" Perhaps she might have gone a bit too far but she couldn't let the young man stay alone in the middle of this deserted village even he was a tech genius who manages to fix the turrets.

"I apologise. I spoke too much." Summer gazed sadly at the glaring child. "Still as a huntress I can't leave you alone here, it's my duty to bring you back to civilization. And for this I apologise."

"For what?" was all the child could say before she moved behind him and scooped him up on her shoulders and the child predictably began to struggle. "Hey, let me go!" but he couldn't get out of her grip. Especially since he wasn't trained nor did he even have an Aura.

"Nope, I'm sorry I can't leave you here. This place is in the middle of nowhere far from any of the Kingdoms, I can't let you live here by yourself."

"I was doing fine before you came along! Let me GO!"

"That may be true but even then that isn't a reason for me to leave you here all alone by yourself." She began walking towards the exit when the boy said something that stopped her in her tracks.

"I shouldn't have saved you! I knew you would trouble me! This is the thanks I get for saving your life? You look at me like I'm an idiot. You don't even consider what I want! You are just taking me away to soothe your own selfish desire! Let me go!"

His words echoed in her ears. Was it true? Did she not even consider his desires? She didn't want it to be true, but a deep pit formed within her chest as she came to the conclusion.

She looked at the young boy as a child. A child who didn't know any better. But this child wasn't like that. He had survived a grim attack that had destroyed his entire village, managed to rebuild the defenses on his own even if it looked much more bulky than it should be and managed to cook and clean without the help of any adult. Perhaps she might have not considered his wants. But that was not because she didn't care. It was because she cared. She wanted to get this kid out of this horrible place as fast as possible.

"I'm sorry." She apologised again, "But you should know that I cannot leave you here. How ever if there is something you wish to take with you then I can wait for a while."

"Yeah. I'm sorry too.

"Sorry for what?"

"Angel Player Boot up complete. Overdrive set to passive."came a robotic voice from the laptop he had been typing on.

"For this." And then he twisted with more force than his little body should even be able to generate forcing himself out of her grip before she saw his fist coming towards her face. All of this in a fraction of a second.

She saw it but she couldn't react as she was caught completly of guard not expecting a child to be have such strength and speed.

The last thing she saw was his fist before it all turned black as she was knocked unconscious.

________________________________________________________________________

Geez. I knew saving Summer would bite me in the ass. Me and my stupid morals. Unfortunately I couldn't take her back to vale... A week had passed as I was taking care of Summer and recovering from my shoulder injury from the ridiculous recoil of the Sniper rifle. Once I put summer to bed I put several restraints on her using duct tape that I wrapped round her and her bed.

Say what you will about how strong huntresses and huntsmen might be. With the amount of duct tape I used to restrain her hands and feet to her bed she wasn't moving anytime soon.

Though just in case I also got some several chains from some of the yards and linked them before adding that as a second restraint.

With that done I went back to my laptop and began to add more programs to the Angel player. First a back up incase she somehow manages to get out of the restraints.

Once that was done... Well considering it was nearing midnight and this bieng the end of the week. That meant I was about to get a new charge.

One I could spend on a speciality.

With Angel Player unlocking my Aura and and giving me a the ability to keep myself safe in most cases now I could start going big time.

Finishing final changes to the Angel player program for now I closed it and left the house and began to walk towards the shed..

The shed which I found the Bulldozer in.. Which also now contained several tools, electronics and things that I brought from the empty electronics shop and some thing from. All over the village.

All in preparation for this moment.

As I opened the shed and switched on the lights I felt it.

A new charge.

Without hesitation I used it.

I began to grin as I grabbed my tools and began to walk towards the bulldozer and began to dismantle the parts... This was going to take a few hours... But if it works... Well.... I wouldn't have to worry about much at all.

I didn't know how long I was working on it. But by the time I was done and stepped back it was finally complete.

It was a modified version of the battle drone, it gun replaced with several arms that had wrenches, welders, screw drivers, electric saws and sevrals tools that it would need.

The thing was twice as big as I was and slightly bigger than summer. It was nearly as large as the bulldozer that I scraped for parts to build to build it. It lay on the ground ready to be activated.

Not wanting to wait a moment longer I typed in the activation code into the system connected to it. My heart lept in excitement as I saw it slowly rise up into the air and hover I front of me waiting for instructions....

First things first...i needed to build a few more of the same drone just in case this one breaks... After which I was going to proceed and use it to build an aircraft.
. Unlike the game I had all the knowledge of how to build it in my head so I didn't need to build an air field for in order to build it. But it would be better if I did other wise I would be flying blind as the Airfield also had Radar and several systems that would grant me access to navigation.

I had to get summer out of here ASAP and building an aircraft was the way to go.

The sun as rising and Summer was likely to be awake now. Considering I wasn't bieng carried by her right now like a sack of potatoes I assume the bindings held.

For now I began to command the drone and began dismantling an old building to use for part to build my new airfield. The runway would take a while so for now I would just make the air traffic control tower systems and a Helipad for which to build my new aircraft...

A Comanche.

A Stealth comanche to be precise.

Unfortunately it it also needed jet fuel to run... Which didn't exist in likely was never discovered or perhaps not even made as crude oil had far less enrgy compared to dust.. So I'd have to use my RWBY speciality to change the engine to allow it to run on dust.... Or I could build an oil Derrick and a refinery... Hmm I'll change engine to use dust... For now. I can change it to another fuel if I desire but for now it would do.

For now I put the drone to build the Automated Airfields systems on its own I'll check its work later for any faults. The sun was nearly up so I think illl go and check on Summer, perhaps she would be more likely to listen to reason after having some time to think?

I certainly hoped so. I didn't want to have to take her her home restrained. It would give a very bad image to anyone who saw.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Thankfully Summer was far more reasonable after having a while to think. Though now she couldn't leave me alone and was following me around like a lost puppy. She was in fact quite insistent on not letting me cook me despite the fact that I can do so but I decided to let her since it gave me do the cooking since it would give me a lot more time to build what I wanted.

I wonder if could spend a charge on Shokugeki no Soma? I'd have to wait a week for that if I wanted to try it though as I had just spent my new charge of Generals Zero Hour.

Speaking of which the Airfield systems have been constructed I even double-checked it to make sure there weren't any faults in it... But there was a problem...

There was no power.

I Fucking forgot to build a Powerplant!

Which while I could build one would first require me to build a command centre.

The command centre as its name implies commands and controls a lot of things such as the power plant without which I would need several people to run it if I built it as the command centre would be able to control most of the reactors functions without my input.

The good thing was the Command centre designs had its own miniature power plant included.

Cons of building a Command centre... It would take a lot of resources to build. A lot of electronics, and I'm pretty sure I would empty the electronics store building the thing.

Pros of building a command centre.

I would be able to connect to nearly all my systems and control them from the command centre except for things that needed a human to run them such as the barracks, tanks and of course aircraft. Not including drones. It would also have a much more comfortable place to live in and was the hub to which all my systems would be connected through.

Looks like I'll have to build the oil derrick and Refinery sooner than I thought because I needed the oils and plastics to proceed further not to mention to fuel the vehicles.

This was going to take a while... To speed it up I activated the two back up drones I had built in case the first one failed.

With three of them activated I began to get to work, demolishing the little farm shed and was now being turned into something else.

The Hub of my base.

The Command Centre.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Semblances were ironic at times.

And it was so with the child in front of her. From what little information she managed to gather he had unlocked his semblance after the fall of the village, something that could have been used to save it.

Perhaps it was why he did t want to leave?

Whatever his semblance was it allowed him a genius level of understanding in technology. The things she saw him building... Such as the one he had called a Helicopter.

It was unique.

Very unique and very different from bullhead.

Most bullheads used wind dust to propel themselves and gravity dust to keep themselves hovering in the air when not in motion.

But this Helicopter used burn dust which somehow spun the blades fast enough to lift it off the ground.

It was dangerous with a capital D. It was why even Atlas didn't use something like this, she did remember this kind of aircraft being used before but it was discontinued in favour of the wind dust engine which was much safer and had no danger of the blades snapping. Especially if a Grim gets caught on it. Another reason why this path of aircraft was abandoned.

When she pointed out the dangers of the Helicopter outside of a Kingdom where even the smallest of grim could get caught on the blades bringing it down the kid accepted it and immediately began dismantling the aircraft. She hadn't expected him to accept it... Perhaps deep inside her she still was unable to stop seeing him as a kid. Or perhaps she was hoping. Hoping that the child would be normal... Would be okay...

But his only confirmed her fears.

The child was damaged.

No... Not damaged... He was forced to grow up fast. Faster than any child should have to.

Otherwise, he might not have survived this cruel world.

Her mind was made.

She wouldn't let this kid be alone.

Perhaps atleast she could visit him occasionally. Or maybe ask someone else to look after him?

Perhaps Ozpin might be able to help? Although Taiyang did want a boy... Now if only she could find a way to make him stay...

Slowly a mischievous plan formed within the back of her mind.......

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________--___-

I nearly facepalmed when. Summer brought up the danger of helicopters in a Grimm infested air.

Of course, it was dangerous. This wasn't earth... Of course in earth bird strikes existed but unlike birds which would stay away from humans, Grimm had no fear. They wouldn't have any problems approaching a flying helicopter.

Which was dangerous...

And so I dismantled it which meant helicopters were out in this world. They wouldn't work .

So I would need a very very fast aircraft, one that could outfly any Grimm that currently existed.

A fast aircraft...

The problem even if I built a runway here I would also need a runway in where ever I was going to land to drop Summer and I did not want to land on any airport that Vale or Patch may have since any aircraft I build would raise a lot of questions.

So a fast aircraft that could take of and land without requiring a runway or an airport...

Hmmm... Wait...

Yes, that might work... But for now, I needed to finish building the command centre, everything else comes after that.

___________________________________-_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Four Days.

Four days had passed.

Within those four days, Summer talked to me. She was somehow able to deduce that I don't know much about the outside world.

So she talked... And talked... And talked.

God, she was a chatterbox. But it was honestly nice, better than working in silence.

She even asked questions about what I was building at times, which I was happy to give the technical specifications of.

Four days had passed and I had gotten to know her and you know what I learned from those four days?

That the name Best mom in the world was honestly underrated. The mission she took was not supposed to take this long. It was supposed to be a short reconnaissance mission, as she didn't want to leave her family for more than a week. She had been supposed to investigate the disappearance fo several villages that had suddenly stopped communications nearly the same time. She was just supposed to find out the cause and report back. But whatever Grimm that caused it didn't give her the chance.

She wouldn't even tell me what the Grimm looked like. She only told me that if I saw a Black fog approaching that I should leave immediately. What was that Grimm that was so disturbing that Summer did not wish to talk about it?

Perhaps I have to triple the defences that I planned to build.

She was also very inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions.

Four days.

And my Command Centre was finally Completed. It had a Command room which had several interconnected systems that gave me access to everything I had built that was connected to the network.

Then there was the Bedroom, the Kitchen, the Living room, the maintenance room which had several supplies ready if I need to fix something or make minute changes on the spot.

Then there was the communications room which held all the networking equipment and the connections to the Radio Antenna and Satelite Control Dish of the Command Centre.

Which of course didn't have a Satelite to control since I had to build one and launch it into orbit before I could do so. Another part of the growing list of thing that separated this life from a simple game.

The command Centre could give me full a birds-eye view as long as I had equipment it could connect to without a Satelite however I didn't even have a map as the Command Centre had no Data.

Currently, I could only view my village and a few miles beyond it thanks to the spy drone that was circling high in the air above.

A second spy drone was heading in the Direction of which Summer said Vale was in its Camera and sensors capturing terrain as it travelled and sent the Data back here with every second that passed the computer was greeting more data which began to slowly create a map. I sent three others as well and three other cardinal directions to gather more terrain data. I wasn't really worried about it being spotted. It was tiny and flew at 40,000 feet above sea level. Along with its stealth capabilities made it nearly undetectable unless you had the correct frequency because the drone would absorb radio waves in any other frequency. It also used the Radiowaves it absorbs as a source of energy other than its Solar cells and the Battery which would allow nearly a 14 days of continuous flight at cruising altitude before it self destructs to prevent its secrets from being stolen.

"It's Amazing." and now Summer was like a child in a park. "You can see all the buildings from here!" She exclaimed seeing the one monitor that showed the real-time footage from the spy drone circling my base.

Huh... when did I start thinking of it as my base?

"How does it work?"

"I have miniature drone currently flying above the Village, it's currently sending a live feed of optical and thermal video."

"So cool!" I guess now I know where Ruby's love for weapons comes from. "I wish Ruby was here to see this." She whispered.

I was sure I wasn't supposed to hear that.

"Well, I'm sure Ruby would be very happy to see you tomorrow."

"Huh?" She turned to me surprised.

"Well, since you apparently can't leave me alone I suppose I have to go with you and make sure to meet whoever this Ruby person is tomorrow. Since the modified King Raptor will be completed by then "

It took summer a few seconds to process what I had said before a big joyous smile lit up her face. And the next second I was having difficulty breathing as I was glomped.

"You care! You act like you don't, but you really do care!"

Me and my big mouth.

"amf, mmm hmmm mhmm, mhmmmmhm!" (Special translation: Air you goddamn woman, I need air!)

For the rest of the day, her joy was very apparent on her face, lighting up she saw me.

Ugh.

___________________________________________________________________________________

With the Command Centre up and running, I was able to produce many more construction drones which I began using to dismantle all the buildings that were too broken to be used thanks to the Grimm very few buildings very completely the intact. The rest needed to be patched up in somewhere like broken walls Broken roofs shattered glasses and some of them were beyond repair... As in it would take more resources to fix it than it would be worth. Those I complete dismantled and got jus enough material to build an oil Derrick which I immediately set the construction drones to start building. Once done I set all defence to full auto before leaving the Command Centre and heading to the Airfield where I saw Summer looking all over the modified King Raptor.

This Raptor was specifically modified with my RWBY tinker power? Knowledge? Whatever... I managed to modify the turbines to be able to run on dust as well as to have a secondary mode... A take-off/landing mode where the turbine mechashifted to exhaust straight down instead of the back.

Kind of like a V-Toll except it has an afterburner and the engine is far far more powerful.

I also had to add a second seat in the back since the King Raptor was likely based on the F-22 raptor but far more advanced.

As I neared it I saw Summer going around it with looking at it a bit confused, as if she had never seen anything like that before...

"Why in the world are you staring at it like that?"

"It doesn't look very safe does it?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, it looks so thin! Even the wings are so thin! And it's so small! Won't it break easily? What if a nevermore attacks? There's no space to fight if a Grimm attacks."

Ah, I see.

Now it all makes sense... Remnant never developed something like a fighter jet because they likely never needed one. If they made something like a fighter jet or a bomber the chaos and destruction it would create would be devastating and the all the negativity would bring the Grimm... .... So it's likely whatever war they had was highly regulated and likely on the ground only.

Instead on remnant, they focused on rigid, and strong aircraft which could take several strikes from the Grimm. The larger the craft the thicker its armour and the more powerful of a punch it could deal to a Grimm. Which meant for remnant speed and agility took a backseat when they developed aircraft. Rather they concentrated on endurance and firepower and with dust being so high in energy density it made it Viable and even prefered.

"That's because it isn't made to Combat Grimm."

She stared at me if I was mad.

"I made it to outrun Grimm."

"Outrun Grimm?! What are you thinking Grey? A Griffin is fast enough to catch up with any aircraft and so can Lancers!"

"How fast?"

"Huh?"

"How fast is the fastest airship?"

"I'm not sure, about 500 kilometres an hour?"

I snorted at having just confirmed the theory. "So not even Mach 1 then?"

"Mach?"

Right Remnant didn't use that term as it did not need for it.

"Mach is a unit of speed like Kilometers per hour."

"Okay, so how does that relate to anything?"

"Because you just said the fastest airship in remnant has a top speed of about 500 Kilometers an hour. That doesn't even reach Mach 1." I grinned.

"And what scale is that Kurou?" Summer asked raising an eyebrow. Apparently she thought Fukurou wasn't cute enough and decided to cut out a part of it... I'm lucky that it still has some meaning! Even if it just meant Black!

"Mach 1 is about 1200 Kilometers an hour. That is the speed of sound. This Baby right here." I placed my hands on the aircraft. "Can reach Mach 2.6." I began to grin as her mouth was open slackjawed. "Or about 3200 Kilometers per hour." pretty sure there ain't any Grimm that can keep up. How far did you say patch was?"

My little spy drone 4 hours of continuous flight to reach and another 3 hours to map out the entirety of vale, and neighbouring villages and islands.

Summer couldn't get on fast enough I had to show her how to strap on the oxygen mask and once she was strapped on I strapped myself and began to go through the start-up checklist making sure everything was working in order. Once the checklist was complete I started up the engine.

"THAT'S REALLY LOUD! IS THE ENGINE SUPPOSE TO SOUND LIKE THAT!?"

I barely heard her but I did and I closed the cockpit sealing it shut and the noise dampened most of it now quiet enough to comfortably talk without screaming our throats till they are hoarse.

"Yes, do you think an engine of an aircraft that's supposed to go faster than sound would be quiet?"

"Wait that wasn't a joke? You were serious?"

And this was likely where Yang got her mischievous side from.

Unlike a normal airport, I didn't need any air traffic controller. The Automated ATC systems along with the Command Centre working in tandem gave me more than enough information. Also another thing. If my Command and Conquer power didn't give me the knowledge of how to fly I wouldn't have even known most of the buttons I was pressing right now because I only flew fighter jets in simulators in my last life.

"Alright, Summer you okay back there?"

"It's a little stifling but otherwise I'm fine!"

Right, my King Raptor was a bit larger. With ordinary jet fuel, its ferry distance - that maximum distance without any weapons and an extra fuel tank was 2600 kilometres. But the fuel I was using wasn't jet fuel. But liquified fire dust. With Dust's high energy density my ferry distance more than doubled to 6800 kilometres if my calculations were correct. I was carrying 10 laser-guided missiles on board as well as a Vulcan cannon. Adding the weight reduced my travel distance to 4800km more than enough fuel for a round trip. Though fuelling this had used up all my fire dust.

With everything checked and double-check the gate in front of me opened. My engines were warmed up and gently pushed the throttle to full straight onto the runway. I didn't need the takeoff/landing mode here anyway.

Tens of thousands of pounds of thrust rocketed out of the exhaust as the engines began to spool up and I felt the G's pushing against me as the jet accelerated faster than anything else I've ever felt before.

I'd crossed the nearly entire length of the airfield that I had built beside the village. It was about 1300 meters in seconds passing the entire length of the runway as I pulled back the joystick, and the plane rotated back and began to climb up at a steep 50-degree angle.

I wasn't sure if summers screams were of fear, thrill or excitement but my mind was on flying the plane!

One of my dreams had just come true.

The feeling of flying.

It was exhilarating.

It felt natural.

I was unable to stop a grin from spreading across my face as we continued to climb until I reached cruising altitude and reduced the power to cruising level. Mach 1.6 I leveled the plane.

"THAT WAS SO AWESOME!" came the shout of Summer.

I thought she was supposed to be an adult!

Though, that was definitely Ruby's mom alright, she was mature at times but also childish at other times.

We reached patch in just under half an hour.

Finding Resources
That boy. Summer grumbled.

He had just literally thrown her out of the plane as soon as she said she spotted her house... He flew dangerously low and slow... Before a mechanism within the aircraft shifted the windscreen back and she found herself ejected out of the plane while still strapped to her seat. Fortunately, the seat also had a parachute, else she might have had to rip the seatbelt to use her landing strategy.

She swore she could still hear the boy cackling long after he had turned around and left...

He was not going to get away that easily! She hadn't even thanked him yet!

But for now, she couldn't wait to see her little rays of sunshine and Tai.

"Just wait for me Nanashi Fukurou..... I'll be back for you! You hear me! You cannot escape Summer Rose! I will find you! Even if I have to chase you to the ends of Remnant! You hear me?". She shouted to the wind, shaking her fist in fake anger, even though she knew he shouldn't be able to hear her...

For some reason, her instincts were telling her that he somehow would hear her anyway.

Somehow...

___________________________________________________________________________-_____________________________________________________

I chuckled as I had heard Summers declaration from the spy drone circling above her home.

I switched the screen back to navigation as the Raptor flew on Autopilot back to base.

I had to wait for a few more days before my charge returns... But for now... I needed to build an oil derrick, an oil refinery..... And then there was a problem... While building an oil Derrick and refinery would solve my jet fuel source problem as well as help me rebuild the runway using proper asphalt instead of the literally flat ground I had cleared.

I was surprised that my tires didn't burst from it while taking off.

With oil also came plastics, rubber, and several compounds I could use. Especially for lubrication. Which I absolutely needed because I had been using cooking oil that I got from the grocery store which I repurposed to be used on machines But that was wasteful and wouldn't last long as the chemical structure was not made for such a thing and would deteriorate rapidly at high temperatures some of my machines reach... Such as this jets engine...

However, there was another concern.

None of the designs I had within my Command and Conquer power had anything that could mine metal the ground...

Absolutely no units were there which mined.

Well unless you considered the worker from the GLA faction... But that was literally a slave... Not something I could build.

Which meant I had to rely on my RWBY tinker power to design a mining robot to find and mine metals.... But the problem was my RWBY speciality didn't specialise in mining unless it was dust...

This was a problem... I had to wait three more days for this week to finish before I can pick a new speciality...

Well, atleast I had time to think about which fictional setting I wanted to choose... Now then... A fictional setting that had a good metal extraction unit...... Hmm...

Minecraft?

No... Hell no..... I'm not spending all day mining with a pickaxe even if it would likely enable me to craft some crazy potions.

No... Something else. Something that would be specialised for the job.

And so the three days I thought carefully while I demolished several more of the damaged buildings and made a few drones to clean up and maintain the village...i couldn't clean this whole place myself after all. I was a single person.

I also added a second program to the Angel player. I think Summer didn't even notice that I was a Faunus. My features were not visible on the outside after all my owl feature was my Vision.

Faunus already have good night vision... And since I was an owl faunus, that night vision was enhanced even further. Not to mention that I could see even tiny movements even from a distance. But this was not something visible...

So I needed something I can use for others to recognize me as a Faunus... Specifically, I wanted other faunus to recognize me as a Faunus. Perhaps there was a way faunus could differentiate other faunus from humans even those who have very subtle features like mine. But I didn't know what that was or even if it existed at all.

So I came up with something with several trials and errors...

I coded owl wings using the Angel Player.

Kanade, however, couldn't fly, with hers. Because of two reasons.

One her body is far too heavy for the wingspan she used to carry her. A bird had hollow bones and feathers that cover the body making them extremely light.

Two the wingspan was likely not aerodynamic enough to carry her. While she had the angel player and created angelLike wings she might have not been able to make it aerodynamic enough as she likely focused on cuteness....like she did hand-sonic version 4.

Which was why she was only able to glide down and slow her descent instead of flying.

However, I had a problem.....

I had no Owls to model my voice-activated wings after. I was able to make my wings a bit aerodynamic and have it coloured like an owl using pictures I got from the CCT network but it still wasn't owl feathers...

Owls were silent.

I had managed to stay airborne with the wings. I was even able to set it so i could flap at will... But it was loud.

Not silent...

Perhaps I could get an owl from a pet store?

Though that would mean travelling to Vale...

Hmmm... Wait Summer did want to pay me back... Perhaps I could ask her for a pet owl?

If I could get one I could analyse how they flew so silently.

"Owl Wings: Deactivate." I sighed as my wings vanished into data particles and I lost the feeling of in my back...

It was strange...perhaps I should remove that feature... I need a different control method... This one felt a bit off.

Today was the day!!

Today was the day!

My oil Derrick was busy pumping oil and my refinery was processing them and storing them. The materials from the scraped buildings put to good use.

I was now getting oil a steady supply of oil.

Though I only needed to run it until my refineries storage tanks are filled. Which were massive.

And then.

It came...

A new charge.

I couldn't stop a nostalgic grin from appearing on my face as I used it.

However, unlike the others, I didn't just get the knowledge of how to build stuff and how it works shoved into my mind...

I also got the machine I thought that was going to have to build right in front of me as it simply appeared out of nowhere...

The Motherload.

It was a huge machine specially made for mining. My height barely reached half of the tank treads.

However, I couldn't run it here. I had to make it mine outside the village... After all, I didn't want the entire village to collapse from tunnels that it would likely drill under it... Not that that's likely to happen since I was going to build a Virtual intelligence to run it...

I also had to build the facilities to maintain it, refuel it and process the minerals that the Motherload would bring back to the surface.

Right I also have to connect the fuel systems... Perhaps I could connect it directly to my refinery?

Alright!

Lets get this party started!

Time to mine the shit out of Remnant... I wonder what I'll get?

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

My RWBY tinker gave me a good amount of knowledge about building Artificial Intelligences. They are extremely complicated and take a lot of time to mature and develop.

AI's are in a way like intelligent newborns who don't know what's right and wrong but have a lot of power in their fingertips. Those are the purpose of restrictions. To act as training wheels. Since humans won't be able to directly influence or teach them right from wrong...

Even programming one would take years let alone the time it would take to properly raise them.

It was why there was only one penny and not a whole armada in cannon.

Piedro was the one who built her, so only he would understand her full capabilities. He was also the only one who could raise her with love and she was his creation.

And the way she turned out showed how difficult it is to actually raise an artificial intelligence.

Unlike what I had used for all my systems. And now within the Motherload, they were all run by Virtual Intelligence. They would learn and grow, but they would never truly gain sentience or sapience as I wasn't anywhere ready to raise someone.

Even if that someone was an Artificial intelligence.

It took two days to set everything up with the help of my construction drone and right now outside the Village the Motherload was digging down and away from the village to find deposits of ores mine them and bring metals back for processing.

I was relaxing in the command centre watching over its progress and the Data I get from its sensors and all the other systems I had.

Speaking of other Systems my spy drone over Vale had now collected a lot of information which I was now categorizing into the system.

I needed the system to be able to distinguish between Civilians, the Authorities, and criminals, corrupt Authorities, important figures, and Huntsman. I'll have to code a neural network for this. Thanks to my spy drone I'm getting a lot of data. Though I have to manually look over a lot of them and to create the teaching program.

This was going to take a lot of work.

The drones that I'd sent to the other directions found a few other civilizations, not the size of a city but a large village. Two never returned back to me, I really needed to get a Satelite into orbit... Radio communication can't go so far without satellites.

I'm only getting a signal from the drone in vale and patch because they were fairly closeby. Since the bandwidth needed to send and receive data are fairly short and with so many obstacles in between its a wonder that I'm getting a signal.

One managed to make it all the way to Menagerie and returned. And boy it's recorded a lot of stuff.

There was good news and bad news.

Good news. There was a lot of lands.

Bad news. 2/3 of it is uninhabitable due to the excess of grim and dessert. So most of them congregate to small settlements.

And unlike in Vale, I couldn't see any faunus being mistreated. Because the entire place was filled and lead by faunus after all...

I even found the CCT support tower. They didn't even have their own CCT tower... I suppose it shows that the rest of the world don't really consider it a kingdom...

Hmmm... Wait Menagerie was Two thirds uninhabitable desert...... Perhaps...

Perhaps I might be able to do something to that depended on if... If Menageries desserts had rich oil deposits...

I was really lucky that I was even able to find a small oil pocket here but it wasn't much. I'd say I had about 3 months before my oil well dried... I highly doubt I'd be able to find another oil deposit nearby.

So I immediately went to work building another drone...

Unlike my spy drone, this one was large. It would fly at an altitude of 85,000 feet. It would carry not just cameras but several sensors such as sonars, lidars, Radar, thermal imaging, a surface chemical analysis scanner. This also has a very powerful radio transmitter and it was made specifically for long-range, it's made to help guide the drone and do a complete scan of Menagerie. Once done it would return back to base to be refuelled and I would take a look at its data.

These scans would be able to tell me how likely there is oil and where once I've found the most likely spot. I'll remove most of the drone scanners and put in several pods that would be deployed onto the spots which would have the most chance of being an oil deposit and test run a seismograph to confirm the presence of oil and how much...

If the results are positive and there's a lot of oil the pod will send a long wave signal...

Unlike my drone transmissions, this signal would be a very radio long wave. I didn't need it to carry much data like video or audio... Just whether oil was present in the target location and how much.

Once I have the data... Perhaps I could have a word with the chieftain of Kuokana? I think it was Blake dad? Wait, wouldn't Blake would be a young child right now?

Before Adam took over... So the white fang might be in its peaceful stages...

If I.. could get into contact with him, I might be able to turn menagerie from a mostly uninhabitable desert, into a paradise for Faunus.

Faunus who no longer have to leave to make ends meet.

A place where they could be proud of...

Hmmm... Perhaps I'll have to speed up my plans. If I'm going to leave this place anyway may as well get the most use of it...

Though...ill have to write that request to summer for a pet owl...

It's time I get to trying to get my wings to be silent...

I needed to find what made them so different...

__________________________________________________________________________________

That was certainly a strange request.

She had just gotten a message from the boy who had saved her...

And it requested her to buy him, a pet Owl, a pet pigeon and a pet eagle? And he would consider her life debt paid?

Was that all her life was worth?

Nope, he wasn't getting rid of her that easily. Raven once called a fungus that grows on people and darn it she was going to live up to that name!

Closing the message she dialled in a number.

"Hello, Qrow? Would you mind stopping by? I have a request for you."

"...."

"No, it's not anything that would take long."

"......."

"Fine, if you help me with this I'll prepare the special brew."

"......."

"Alright, see you soon!" With that, she cut the call.

"Who was that?"

"Oh, Tai! I was just calling Qrow. For a favour."

"A favour?" Tai's eyebrow lifted in question."If I remember he's the one that owes you."

And summer told her husband of the message she had just received.

"Hmmm, an Owl, pigeon and an eagle? While Owls and pigeons are simple to get Eagles can be a bit dangerous right? I mean this Nanashi is a child right? So instead of an eagle, we can have Qrow be a Crow. I mean they are quite similar after all.

And so Qrow's fate was sealed unknown to him as a shiver went up his spine as he took a gulp of his flask... He was just returning from a mission so he supposed he could help summer out...boy, he didn't know what he was in for.

Designing and Welcoming.
"You're saying that this kid killed Tyrian, with a Sniper and popped his head like a balloon? And he didn't seem affected at all?"

"He is the only survivor Qrow and he got his semblance after the destruction of the village. It is obvious that he needs mental help! We can't leave him alone out there!"

"From what you're telling me summer is that the kid not only managed to kill one of Salem's agents but he didn't have any problems afterwards, and you want to take care of a psychopath?"

"Psychopath or not he still saved my life Qrow, he even got his shoulder broken from it, and the only thing he asked in return was 3 pet birds! He didn't ask for an unreasonable amount of Lien which was well within his right! But he also nursed me back to health when I was unable to move for long! The child may be a Psyco but he didn't have to save me Qrow but he did it anyway! What do you think that says about him?"

"I'll admit, I'm am damn thankful that this brat saved you but think about it, how the hell did he survive on his own? How the hell did he know to build all these things you are saying? Don't you think somethings fishy with him? Hell, you said the kid build his own airship in a week! How the hell, does that not sound ridiculous?"

"Perhaps, perhaps it's his semblance? Or perhaps he is just that smart? Regardless, I'd rather regret trusting someone than regret not giving someone the benefit of the doubt." Summer looked straight at him, her resolution firm.

Qrow sighed tiredly. Summer was not going to let this go. She always saw the best in others. Unlike how he and Raven used to be. Even as powerful as she was Summer was still willfully naive. Even after she had seen the ugly side of people she was still willing to give them a chance. It was what made Summer, Summer.

"Fine, I'll deliver the packages for ya and try to talk to him, but I won't be holding back if he attacks." Qrow sighed. "Still, think we should talk to Ozpin about this though."

"And I said it's not needed, he's just a child! I highly doubt he has any connection to Salem."

"Fine, fine! But you owe me a whole barrel of Rose Cider for this!"

"Of course." Summer smiled brightly knowing she won the argument. And Qrow simply sighed once more taking a Gulp of his flask.

The things he did for the people he loved.

Looks like you've got a small base up and running. Good. Because you won't be able to choose tinker powers anymore. Instead, you will have to earn them, can't have things getting too easy for you, because viewers have been complaining that you are getting too powerful. How you can earn you ask... That's something you can find out!

I crumpled the paper in anger!

Of course.

Nothing could be too easy for me. No, even if I nearly broke my back and tore my muscles to get the defences up and running when first arrived here it was considered fucking easy.

Shattering my shoulder bones using my modified Hecate II to save Summer Rose counted as easy, cooking, cleaning and doing everything to survive on top of building things to survive and get strong was considered too easy.

Whoever was complaining must not be human, or they were assholes who enjoyed watching me suffer.

I let out a sigh.

Whatever.

I wasn't going to let them enjoy it.

I may not get a new tinker speciality, but even before he got this power he was a hell of a science nerd. I used to read 8th-grade textbooks when I was in grade 1 because he found it fascinating. While other children played I found myself in a science or computer book.

I knew theories even without these tinker powers. These powers did confirm several of the theories for me.

Such as how the Cold fusion reactor ran.

Fusion usually occurs in the cores of stars made from highly compressed and heated plasma.

But fusion can occur in non-plasma environments too. Like the hydrogen molecule wherein which two hydrogen nuclei are kept relatively near to each other by sharing electrons.

The nuclei don't stay a rigid distance apart though. They vibrate and wiggle and every so often they can in principle get close enough to fuse.

But with hydrogen or nitrogen or oxygen or pretty much all other molecules, this happens very, very, very, very, very rarely.

It was why the atmosphere which has a fair amount of molecules isn't a giant fusion bomb.

However, things are different if you replaced the electrons in the hydrogen or whatever molecule you use with muons instead.

Muons are exactly the same as electrons except they are about 207 times heavier.

Being essentially heavier electrons they form the atoms the same way as electrons but since they are so much heavier their orbits are much closer to the nucleus than an electron with the same energy as an electron with the same energy and angular momentum would.

This means the molecules held together by muons have the radius of their atoms 207 times smaller than normal making them many, many any times morel likely to fuse.

So much so that they could fuse together even in temperatures near absolute zero.

That's how the cold fusion reactor ran. It also solved the problem of muons getting stuck by using several nanoscopic ridges that are shaped to increase the surface area as much as possible to free any muons that might get stuck and stop the fusion process.

It was how I now had electricity delivered to every single system here and the amount of energy a single Cold fusion reactor is capable of generating is ridiculous.

I didn't need to build a second cold fusion reactor unless I was planning on building a Particle Uplink Cannon, which I absolutely fucking will.

The Particle Uplink cannon would likely need its own cold-fusion powerplant connected directly to it.

That's how much power it required to charge at a reasonable amount of time. Not to mention the load it would put if I connected it to my main power grid.

Not to mention the particle Uplink cannon also need an array of special satellites in orbit. The satellites would be Geostationary and one would be right above the Particle Uplink cannon in order to reflect the beam with an orbital mirror specifically made to deflect the Particle cannon. The satellite deflects the beam to other geostationary satellites who reflect the beam to others until it reaches the satellites which were in the range of the target which would reflect it down on the surface of the planet to where ever the target was.

Other than the satellite directly on top of the particle cannon the others would be able to adjust themselves so that their reflectors would deflect the beam until it aligns to the target uploaded by the Command centre.

Then the particle cannon would fire a small pulse at 1 kilowatt. A fraction of its power and it the computer would see the effect of the pulse...

If the pulse hit the target there would be a slight rise in temperature which the satellites thermal sensors would pick up.

If the pulse hit the correct target then the Partie Cannon would release its full power of 5000 Petawatts. Or 5 Exawatts. The particle beam would be Powerful enough to vapourised anything in its path.

Though I also need to get to replacing my defences with Laser turrets... The turret would run out of ammunition in about a two more from the current usage and Grimm attack levels.

I was lucky not a lot of Grimm come since I was a single person I didn't have a lot of negative emotions to attract hordes of Grimm.

I haven't made any ammo for the turrets after all.

Not when I could build something better.

A Laser turret.

Requires no ammo except for power... Lots of Power compared to any other turret.

They were like miniature Particle cannons except they took a fraction of its power 50 Petawatts.

Of course, as powerful as my Cold fusion plants were, there's no way it would reach those levels of output. At max, my Nuclear cold fusion reactor could output 150 Gigawatts at peak power.

Nowhere near the power required to directly fire the Laser turrets let alone the particle cannon.

Which was why both the particle cannon and the laser turrets would have huge Super Capacitor banks made of Graphene would be built into them which charges until full.

I was brought out of my musing when my defence systems alerted me of a person approaching the gate...

What in the world was a person doing in the middle of nowhere?

Saving my blueprints I brought up the defences camera I found who it was and my eyes widened.

It was Qrow carrying what appeared to be a briefcase...

It's only been 8 days since I've sent the message to Summer. I definitely didn't see any cages for birds...

So why is he here?

Did Ozpin send him to recruit me?

That could be possible but dear I hoped not. I was hoping to head to Kuokana to meet up with the White Fang and Ghira as soon as I perfected Guard skill: Owl's wings.

I'll have to decline the invitation if he offers it... But I'm not going to go out to greet him...

After all, I couldn't take any chances... This was not summer, who was unprepared and completely surprised.

He had his guard up and would likely never let it down around me even if he looks relaxed.

No.

I'll guide him to me instead.

He can meet me in the Command Centres meeting room. Which I had prepared in case someone like Tyrian or Hazel comes after me.

Where I have hundreds of hidden defences set up that I could command to shoot Qrow in the blink of an eye if he tries to attack me or subdue me.

I gave the authorization the mega locks unlocked the and the metal gate opened letting Qrow access the facility. The defence trailing his every move to give the message that he was being watched...

A construction drone hovered towards him as I activated my mic to welcome Qrow...

Qrow Interlude
Qrow didn't know what to expect...

A child had saved Summer from being murdered by one of Salem's agents.

From what he had heard the child was some kind of genius.

But it seemed too convenient to Qrow.

A child who somehow survived on his own in the middle of nowhere, killed Tyrian just in time to save summer.

It was as if the entire thing was set up.

It reeked of a trap.

Perhaps a method to put a spy on the Inside after gaining trust.

So he told Ozpin.

And Ozpin agreed that I seemed fishy so now he was here to see for himself whether the brat was an agent of Salem or just a scarily smart brat.

"Perhaps, he may be one of Salem's agents, or perhaps not. However, if he isn't and Summers description of his ability is true, then perhaps he would grow up to be someone truly great. Someone that could do a lot of good. So it would be best if we observed him first."

So here he was now standing in front of the location that Summer had sent on his Scroll Map.

This place didn't look like a fallen village!

It looked more like a fortress.

The walls were tall and made of concrete.

And in front of him was what appeared to be a huge mechanical door.

He also spotted what appeared to be several turrets.

They looked far too chunky. Perhaps an old one? Regardless they seemed to be following every moment.

Hmmm now, that's something...

Reaching back and putting a hand on his weapon didn't seem to change anything.

But when he took out Harbinger then something did change.

There was a blinking red light on each turret that he was sure wasn't there before.

An indication of something?

A warning?

Regardless he had to be careful here.

The metal gate in front of clicked and with and began to slide open with a loud hydraulic hiss.

Still keeping on hand on Harbinger he slowly began to walk in keeping an eye out for anything.

The buildings around him were strange, completely different from any design he had seen before...

And then a fucking Robot was hovering towards him.

He got enough of that from Jimmy already.

"Greetings, May I inquire who you are and your purpose here?" A young voice came front he hovering robot. He knew Summer told him that the kid was young but hearing it himself was another matter. He sounded so young! He couldn't be much older than Yang!

Letting go of Harbinger he relaxed his muscles but didn't let his guard down.

"The names Qrow, Summer said you requested a few pets, she called in a favour, so I get to play mailman." He paused popping the lid of his flask and taking a sip before putting it back. "So, are ya gonna make me stand here all day what?"

"Ah, I see. Very well please follow me." The drone bobbed and began to float away.

With no other choice Qrow began to follow the drone but kept his eye out and he spotted quite a lot of things.

First...

This was definitely a settlement as summer had claimed.

A fallen settlement.

He could see several signs of it.

Though he noticed the odd buildings that stood out.

Particularly looking like the stuff Atlas made.

The high-quality stuff.

He also spotted several other drones like the one he was following that seemed to be working on a building Twisting bolts, welding, hammering,

Summer wasn't joking.

This kid was using robots to break down unusable buildings that were damaged in the Grimm attack that destroyed it and using them for resources...

Holy shit...

This kid... Whoever he was... He wasn't just a Genius... He was the next Professor Hazard. Except the kid's stuff wasn't blowing up...

How the fuck did he build all this?

Even if he was a genius it doesn't make sense that he was able to know so much. Let alone have the practical application to build the ridiculous stuff he was seeing.

Eventually, he was led to a strange building, its feel was like a CCT tower but yet more authoritative... More militaristic.

A door opened automatically and he was led through a long hall into what appeared to be a meeting room of some kind. He had been keeping an eye on the path he had been lead by the bot. Looking around the hallways didn't seem to reveal any traps or cameras that he could recognize, but that made him even more suspicious.

Perhaps he was paranoid. But his gut was telling him that he had to be careful. And his gut had saved him several times.

He was finally lead to a room which looked like something that came out of a comic book laboratory.

And within he saw a kid who seemed to be typing something with several screens around him...

"Come in, come in. Have a seat, would you like some tea or coffee?"

"Have any strong booze? "

The kid looked up from typing and stared at him raising an eyebrow...

"What?"

The kid shook his head.

"I apologize. I do not keep any drinkable alcohol in hand except for diluted Ethanol. Which I do not believe would taste very good."

"No shit." He knew what the boy was talking about...it was the stuff used in the hospitals.

The boy continued as if he didn't even hear him. "But I do remember a hidden cellar in one of the houses that had several bottles of what I assume is likely alcohol...I'll have a strong one brought over."

"Sebas," The kid said turning to the robot which had lead him in. "I want you to go building G3, under it is a Cellar containing various liquids in bottles made of silicon dioxide. I want you to bring me the one which contains the liquid with the highest concentration of ethyl alcohol."

The robot left through the door without a word other than the humming of its thrusters.

"Now then, I believe you said Summer send you? Did she accept my request?"

"Yeah, there here." Qrow but the briefcase on the table.

The kid looked at the briefcase and then at me and raised an eyebrow.

Qrow shrugged. "Don't look at me, one of my friend's semblance allows him to fit several objects into a container which shouldn't be able to hold them at all in the first place."

The kid's eyes widened. "A spacial distortion? So the internal volume is larger within the container?"

"Yeah, doesn't even change its weight either..."

He swore the kid's neck should have snapped from how fast he turned and stares at him like he was told that the world was flat or something. "Of course only he can do it. Once somethings bigger than it is taken out you can't put it back in, only he can."

"A semblance that imitates the Mass Effect? But the only substance that I know that can reduce mass is the Element Zero and even that is something only formed after a Supernova when a sufficiently large star dies. For a semblance to have such an effect... " The kid shook his head breaking out of whatever tirade he was is. "Ah, I apologies. If I may? "

The kid even acted like Dr Hazard. He only now needs to start saying Brilliant or Fantastic occasionally and he'd be a perfect copy. He wasn't sure what exactly the kid was talking about but he had been around enough sciency guys to know the difference between a kid excited to learn science stuff with a semblance that helped him in a mental capacity, and an expert who actually knew his stuff.

This kid he fell into both.

Perhaps he didn't have a mental empowered semblance as ridiculously rare as those were. But until he knew for certain he couldn't cross it out.

He knew his stuff but he also had childish mind.

But just to be sure he was recording this entire conversation so he could show it to Ozpin and see if he is a legit guy or a kid over in his own head... Though considering he build the robot who now just arrived with a booze bottle he's definitely someone who knows his stuff...

But before he gives the case... He had a question...

"What are you gonna use them for?"

The kid looked at him as if he was stupid.

"For experiments duh! What else do you think?"

"Oh? You're going to cut them open?" Just like how you effortlessly popped Tyrians head like a Balloon?

"Of course not!" The kid looked at him with disgust clear on his face. Huh? He was sure his guess was correct. "I'm simply going to place them in a room with several high-speed cameras and sensors to observe them. Why the world would you think I was going to dissect them? I'm not a Biologist. My field of research lies in Robotics and Aviation, I'm merely interested in their flight capabilities. Eagles are one of the fastest birds in the world, owls are the most silent and a Pigeon is a good average." I wish to observe how they fly and see if theirs anything I can use to improve."

Qrow blinked at the complicated answer, and finally pushed the case towards the kid and took the bottle from the Robot who was hovering next to him with a bottle of booze and took a large gulp.

His eyes widened as he lowered the bottle.

"Damn, that's strong stuff." Looking at the label showed why. "Cherry Blossom - 5309. Two centuries... Damn this thing would sell for a damn high price."

The kid had already figured out and taken the three cages out of the briefcase containing the pet birds he had requested of Summer.

"So, whatcha doing here?"

"Hmm?" The kid had gone back to typing after keeping the birds away.

"I'm asking if have a dream kid. What do you want to do when you grow up?"

The boy paused as if thinking for an answer before looking at him...

"I have one goal and its something I'm working towards even now. Not something I'm going to be waiting to accomplish when I grow up. I don't know how long it's going to take so I'm starting it early."

"Oh, and what's that?"

"That... Is a secret." the boy grinned before going back to whatever he was typing. Damn. He was sure he had earned the kids trust...

Where did his cool Uncleness go? Was he not cool anymore? Was he not trendy?

Well.

It seems he has to keep an eye in him a bit longer.

"Alright kid I'm leaving, Take care of yourself alright?"

The kid nodded. From all the things he had seen even if he was a kid, he was far more mature than one.

Someone who had experienced the harshness of the world and come out alive...or one of Salem's agents.

He dearly hoped that was wrong... He did share some damn strong booze with him after all. It'd be a shame if he was with the enemy.

As he walked out towards the exit of the gate guided by the robot he looked around. The scroll that was hidden in his jacket recording everything it can.

Once he was outside and the gates shut behind him he began to walk away and soon was out of sight for any human or normal camera would see he vanished...

And an inconspicuous Crow began to fly above the Village eventually landing on top of one of the buildings...

The Crow might have been inconspicuous... But a spy drone flying high above the clear sky even more inconspicuous than the crow was observing said inconspicuous crow quite carefully, its IR sensors and Cameras locked on to it and it continued to record everything this inconspicuous crow did.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Within the Command centre, a child began chuckling.

Fooling him wasn't easy but I did manage to pull off a decent genius scientist impression if his reactions were anything to go by...my chuckles halted as I looked through my drone feed.

Nice try Qrow...

Honestly, if I hadn't known who you were you might have caught me.

But it seems ill have to complete most of my project indoors for now...

And once he leaves I'm going to have to add a few extra lines to the laser turrets targeting algorithm when building it.

Specifically to shoot down any crows or ravens with extreme prejudice..

More Fixing!
I had to restrict most of my activities now that Qrow was observing me. Not by much but as most of my stuff I built using the construction drones controlling them from the command Centre.

On another note, turns out the automated Motherload mineral processing plant didn't recognize Dust, so it couldn't really process it and has been piling up in the junk inventory.

I put several drones to work carrying all the dust it mined from the junk inventory and had them arrange to pack them in the Armories warehouse.

On another note...

It had been 13 days since I built the mother load. The computerized refuelling, maintenance and mineral processing facilities were quite useful in keeping the motherload operational 24/7.

Thanks to it I now have quite a good supply of iron, copper, Aluminum, Bronze, Tin, Chromium, Mercury, Cobalt, Magnesium, Molybdenum, Nickel, Manganese, Graphite, Coal, Gold, Silver,
Zinc and so many other metals that I required.

With this, I had a lot of my metal shortage problems solved. I no longer needed to break down any unusable homes for metal and resources... Not that I had any more unusable ones anyway. The rest were mostly intact.

The problem was the current Drill bit cannot go too deep nor can it drill harder materials. Like Tungsten, Lead and Osmium and such. Not only that, the deeper it drills the harder the pressure is and so the materials are denser... Which makes it more difficult to drill which mean it takes longer and consumes more fuel which means it has to surface more often.

Not to mention the heat it would encounter as it drilled... Which also mean I needed to change the cooling system as well... May as well as go ahead and change the engine and the cargo bay while I'm at it.

So first thing first... I have to build the parts.

First things first, to the workshop!

You know... Now that I think about it I'm damn surprised that the King Raptor I built with the scraped(repurposed) materials flew as well as it did especially since some of the materials I required were unable to be found in the village such as Titanium. I used an aluminium steel alloy for the fan blades and a few of them snapped from the sheer G forces they experienced. I'm surprised it flew that well, considering the thing literally stopped working a day after I used it.

Hell, I was surprised it even flew at all.

I shook my head. I didn't have to worry too much about resources soon enough. I was going to improve the motherload after all and that meant good metals.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Using the drones first I created graphite moulds for the New engine that was going to go into the motherload.

I made a mould from graphite for each part of the new engine before starting up the electric arc furnace I made using bricks and carbon Rods. Then I put in the aluminium ingots that I had just retrieved from the mineral processor used the construction drones to use the carbon Rods to start melting the metal and adding more are needed.

Once the Vat was filled with molten metal I had the drones slowly pour it into the mild that I had prepared.

Once the last mould was filled I had to fair for them to cool down...

Next was the Cargo bay which was fairly simple to make it large.

120 cubic feet large...

Which was huge...

The cargo bay was simple... It was just a space for holding the minerals and metal ores that the motherload mined. I just needed to strengthen it since it was going to need to carry far more weight as well. I didn't have titanium yet.

Which also meant I had to also increase the size and strength of the hull.

The drill bit, however, was a conundrum. I didn't have dense metals to construct the drill-bit but, I needed a strong enough drill bit to past those depths and reach those metals. So I decided to use Molybdenum.

Molybdenum by itself was not that hard but when used to form a steel alloy became extremely strong. It also had the 6th highest melting point of 2896 Kelvin (2623 °C, 4753 °F). Iron had a melting point of 1811 K (1538 °C, 2800 °F).

As such making an alloy raised the melting which was essential if I wanted the motherload to dig deeper. Since it got hotter the deeper it dug.

The motherload did manage to find a lot of diamonds... But most of it wasn't gem-like but they had what I needed.

Their hardness.

They were the hardest naturally occurring substance that existed for a reason after all... Unless you start counting in fictional metals.

I was going to cover the drill bit in diamonds. This would help it mine even when the metal wasn't made of ridiculously dense material.

I was really glad I chose command and Conquer now. Otherwise, without the construction drones, I had built I would have had to do everything by hand. And without them. I would have to be running maintenance myself. Instead of automating the process through the drones.

I took a breath and got work.

It was time to upgrade the shit out of it.

I couldn't build the some of the highest upgrades because that required Exotic matter that I had no access to yet.

But that didn't mean I couldn't build the best parts I could!

It took me nearly the whole day to complete the parts and by the time was done it was night. So I decided to install the parts the next morning. With that done i went to bed after having dinner, excited for the new day.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Waking up early I had a nice breakfast of cereal and milk after which I first went to the command centre to check the spy drone's surveillance footage.

Qrow was damn persistent.

He didn't stop 'discreetly' following me until I was fast asleep, after which he left and was back before dawn.

Jesus. How long was he going to keep following me?

Regardless. I had a machine to upgrade and I was going to upgrade it.

So I sent the command to the Motherload from my desk then gave the command for the drones to begin transporting all the parts that I had made yesterday to the Garage on outskirts of the village where the Motherload facilities lay, and I left the Command Centre and began to walk towards it.

As I arrived I saw the motherload shut off in the automated Fuel station.

It certainly looked a bit banged up.

Time to upgrade the shit out of this.

I climbed onto it, opening the hatch and started it up in manual mode before slowly moving it into the Garage I had prepared to tinker it in.

Shutting it off, I opened the hatch and climbed out to see all the parts already in the Garage.

Damn those drones do work fast.

Everything was here.

The cooling system had a turbine instead of just a large fan as it had before.

The Cargo bay was huge.

And not to mention the new Hull I had built for it.

The fuel tank I had changed to something else.

It didn't just run on Gas anymore, it now had a special battery that I managed to build since Oxygen supply will be cut off, after all, it's going to be digging far deeper now.

Using a mixture of Lightning dust, earth dust, Carbon electrodes and a lot of failures. I managed to make an extremely powerful rechargeable battery that drained the power from Lightning Dust partially.

Dust, when used, vanish as it turns into its constituting element. Lightning dust as it says turns into electricity. By using a mixture of earth and lightning dust finely ground and mixed into an electrolyte, I found a way to keep it from getting completely discharged.

It reduced the amount of energy I could get from it but with dust's energy density? It still made my old worlds most powerful batteries look like cell batteries in comparison while also being rechargeable. And it charged very fast. And unlike a battery which uses a chemical reaction to push the electrons. Dust was not a regular chemical. It was magical. It didn't have a maximum charging rate and could accept power as fast as the reactor can provide it. Now the fuel station was going to be changed into a charging station that was connected directly to the power plant with high-grade power lines that would be made from really THICC copper wires.

Then there was the engine which was now a huge electric motor.

Electric motors were simple, very simple compared to the other things I had made.

And unlike an engine, it would not risk stopping due to lack of air and with my RWBY speciality, I was able to increase its efficiency to 99.75%. With a power rating of 25,000 kW and 33,000 ft-lbs of torque.

Hopefully more than enough.

Honestly without all the construction drones I used, I don't think I would have been able to do this so fast. If I did this myself without any drones I would have probably need a month to get all this done.

Kind of relieved that I took Command and Conquer now instead of something like Minecraft or Skyrim.

Now then... Time to install everything!

________________________________________________________________________________________

By the time all the parts I had built replaced the old parts in the motherload three hours had passed.

It was twice as big as before!

Really huge!

I hope this works. Here goes nothing.

I took a breath as I gave a command to the computer to start a test run.

It took a few seconds for the virtual Intelligence to start up the motor and I couldn't hold back a wince as I heard the ridiculous amounts of inrush current. Of all the things to forget. I forgot to add a soft start system.

That was seriously a stupid mistake.

The purpose of a soft starter was to reduce the initial rush of current as the motor spooled up and limit the torque, useful if you want to protect your equipment, extend the life of your motor and reduce motor heating with frequent starts and stops. So, a soft starter provides a gentle acceleration up to full speed.

I'll have to build that next but for now, it looks like there was no problem so I gave the command for the motherload Vi to resume its duties and watched as it drove out of the Garage its electric whine slowly decreasing as it moved towards its drilling area and disappears underground shortly after. It was definitely noticed by Qrow if he wasn't observing already...

Well... That was fun.

As I was preparing to leave I got alert on my scroll. The command Centre was sending a message...

Wait... This was...

The signals from the pods that were dropped on the inhabitable zones in Menagerie.

Good news...

The continent had a lot of oil.

Bad news. I still haven't used the birds that summer sent to me via Qrow express.

I immediately began to head back to the Command Centre... Time to do those tests and get my wings correct!

I also had to start designing a rocket to send a satellite into orbit.

Hmm....

Qrow was definitely following me now. I could spot him with ease with my eyes, he was still not leaving...regardless I had work to do.

I had prepared one of the warehouses, especially for this experiment.

I had built several sensitive microphones and several high-speed cameras placed to observe the birds.

Once all the equipment were up and running I brought the cages, placing the pigeon's cage first on one end of the room and a few dried, split pulses in my hands at the end of the room where the pigeon could see it.

Dried, split pulses were the pigeons favourite according to my experience... If that was present it wouldn't eat anything else.

And I knew I had its attention and with a command to from my scroll the cage opened its motor pulling open the door.

The pigeon had its eyes on me and knew I had the seeds, but it wasn't friendly enough to come too close to me nor eat from my hand as much as I wish it so.

I threw the dried, split pulses a few feet away from me and onto the ground...

The moment it landed I saw the pigeons eyes zero in on where it landed and it immediately took off leaving the cage and flew towards the meal it desired, landing a few inches from where the pulses had scattered and began to peck away at it.

I however went and stopped the high-speed cameras and the microphone... The fans of the high-speed cameras kicked in to dissipate the rediculous amounts of heat it generated even in such a short period of time.

Once the pigeon had eaten its fill I opened the door and chased it out. The moment it saw the blue sky it took off.

Good.

I didn't like keeping animals captive it felt wrong...

I felt nostalgic as I remembered the pigeon I raised in my previous life, I had taken it in when it was a baby pigeon and it fell from its nest above under the roof of my school.

The young chick was far too young to fly and had just gotten little feathers covering its body.

It was hurt from the height it fell. And since it was a school Of course there were people who saw it...

But no one moved to help it. After all, it wasn't their problem. I saw the parents desperately flying back and forth trying to find a way, But there were too many people about. Or perhaps that was what I thought.

I loved animals and I had many pets during my life... And as like the little chick I never held any of my pets captive.

So I took this chick home and began to take care of it.

I had 8 or nine pigeons at that time none of them was captive. Even if I had them in a cage they were free to leave and come as they please.

Those who have pets like birds in captivity would never get to feel the joy of having them come to you because they knew you wouldn't harm them. That you were someone who cared for them. They would respond to their names flying even from a distance when you call them...

It was a wonderful feeling...

And so was this little guy.

I raised him lovingly. He was so small that I could cover him up in my hands. And at times I did, Of course making sure that he could pop his little head out and could breathe. I remembered at times when he would try to sneak into my arms for warmth. And I remembered the first time he managed to fly a short distance, he landed on top of my head when I was busy with something else. Needless to say, he gave me quite a scare that day.

I remembered how sad I was when he took flight one day and left with a few of the other pigeons that would visit me to eat when I feed my own. I was happy that he had grown so well and healthy and was able to leave when he wanted. I couldn't describe the joy I felt when he returned one day, nearly half a year later with another pigeon. Who I found eventually out was his mate.

People who think animals are just instincts and don't have emotions or aren't intelligent haven't seen the things I've seen.

Snapping out of my reminiscing I repeated the same with the Eagle and the owl. Except instead of seeds I got some meat.

Once it was done and the two were free I began to go through the data I managed to collect.

And boy... I found exactly what I needed.

The owl was light...

Like really fucking light.

541 Grams.

That's half a kilo!

The pigeon weighed two to three times its weight.

The eagle weighed nearly ten times the owl.

And the owl had the largest wing to weight ratio.

Hell, its wings were larger than the other two, period. Even if it was by a few inches.

This meant the owl didn't need much to put much effort to keep itself in the air. And it showed from both the cameras and the sound.

The eagle preferred to be fast, its mighty flaps allowing it to gather speed quickly. Some Eagles were capable of reaching above 200 Kilometres an hour. Which meant that very few pretty can outrun or outfly it.

The owl however barely flapped at all and when it did was extremely gentle with very little movement.

I had also taken enough pictures to create a 3D model of their wing section...

What I needed to do was make my wings Weightless. And considering that it was made of Aura and Data that was a simple problem. Though if someone touches it and notices its weightlessness they would find it odd. So I could set it to be weightless when I was flying I suppose.

It was time to get work...

To correct the mistakes in Guard Skill: Owls wings...

Though the owl was white... So maybe I can keep the wings white as well? So it would also look like angel wings. Maybe I should change the name back to Guard Skill: Angel wings?

It would definitely sound a lot cooler when I deployed it. Since my active angel player skills are voice-activated after all.

Yeah, 'Guard Skill: Angel Wings' sounded a lot cooler!

Meanwhile, in the middle of nowhere, two young children were travelling. Slowly losing hope. Their village destroyed, their families were gone. They managed to come across a few villages but no one was willing to take them in.

That was fine.

Atleast there were people kind enough to give them food and a place to rest. Resources couldn't be spent so carelessly so far away from the Kingdoms so they couldn't take the kids in.

But they continued on. Hoping to find a place where they can call home.

Hoping for a place where they can rest without worrying.

They continued walking together, hoping to find a place.

A place where they could be safe from the monsters of the night...

Safe, from the Grimm.

And safe from those who might hurt them.

Away from the terrible orphanage system of Mistral.

Vale was the most likely place they would likely find it.

And so the two children continued to walk.

Not knowing that they were going to find exactly what they had wished for, in a strange village that was run by only a single child as old as they were, but with an army of little robots...
