That's right kids, it's time for Galciv 3 quest! can you take your empire from a single world to galactic greatness? or will you be a footnote in history?

let's start things off with the dreaded SETUP.
fortunately for you, I've put some thought into options here, so you're not going to get to need to vote on every little thing.

so, without further ado, let's lay out your options:

choose your galaxy:
this will determine the general features of the galaxy. note that all these are either Huge or larger size to fully represent the galactic scale of the game.

[]Tarek Sector: this region of space is populated by loose clusters of stars and an unusual number of Precursor artifacts. also curiously, there appears to be an abundance of habitable worlds and a distinct lack of extreme planetary conditions.

[]The Marches: devastated by centuries of war, the Marches have little in the way of anything of value, including habitable worlds- and those that are are often barely so, radioactive hellscapes, toxic deathworlds, barren rocks long-since stripped of all value, and so on.

[]The M-3 Nebula: this vast region is rich in natural resources, but contains a smaller-than-average number of habitable worlds, making holding territory here more difficult.

[]The Cathar Dwarf Galaxy: an immense dwarf galaxy- rich in nearly everything, but its sheer size makes taking it a difficult proposition.

Determine the cost of victory:

[]Standard: allows all standard victory conditions (turn limit is disabled.)

[]No Sudden Game End Syndrome: disables Research and Ascension victories

[]War and Peace: disables Research, Ascension, and Influence victories- either conquer your foes, or bring galactic peace. nothing else shall suffice.

[]No Peace, no Remorse: disables all except Conquest victory. there is only WAR!

Choose your difficulty:

[]Very Easy

[]Easy

[]Standard

[]Hard

[]Insane

Race selection to follow.

Terran Imperium:

Codex:Races of the Galaxy

  • The Terran Imperium has risen from the ashes of the old Terran Sphere's core worlds to form a military polity driven by a single goal: Unite humanity and restore order, no matter the cost. their ships are rugged, powerful, and manned by battle-hardened crews, their people patriotic and skilled at construction. while trade and diplomacy are of little interest, their ability to feild vast fleets of powerful warships is unmatched in the successor states of the Terran Sphere.

Codex: The Cathar Dwarf Galaxy

The Cathar Dwarf Galaxy is home to a large number of polities both large and small. while resources and artifacts are relatively scarce, its sheer size none-the-less leaves plenty of both. of special note is is squabbling remnants of the Terran Sphere, who once controlled much of Cathar- however the extra-galactic and rapacious Drengin Empire invaded wholesale some time ago, pursued by ally and enemy alike; and the Terran Sphere, whose dominance had been uncontested for nearly a thousand years, found itself shattered into dozens of successor-states by the resulting wars. meanwhile, dark things stir in the ruins- rumors of strange, organic ships and horrifying cybernetic monsters come from these far-flung stars, while the Drengin and their foes and allies wage bloody war against the squabbling, often xenophobic Terran successor states.

Tiny Scoutship with modest sensor array and fair speed.

extremely cheap and basic colony vessel. slow, shortranged, and generally inferior to later designs.

simple and cheap Starbase construction ship. short-ranged and slow.

Mobile factory able to manufacture additional Starbase components in-situ. Highly expensive but often worth investing in for distant Starbases. *Locked* Requires: Starbase

now then, choose your race:
note: 'canon' races,
aren't. they will be different from stock. you are warned.

[]Drengin Empire: Rapacious and aggressive, the Drengin are about the closest thing to "Evil" short of the Dread Lords themselves.
[]Alterain Republic: generally peaceful and research-foucused, the Alterians are none-the-less a formidable foe.
[]Terran Imperium: This military juggernought is one of the major players to emerge from the destruction of the old Terran Sphere.
[] Caradri Syndicate: An organized super-state of assorted Pirates, mercinaries, thugs, and cutthroats from all across the galaxy, recently galvanized into a proper empire by a mysterious figure.
[]Carthi Imperiaxie: Another player to arise from the Terran Sphere's destruction, the Carthi are a highly militant post-human faction whose disdain for other life-forms has made them few friends.
[]Aventi Ascendancy: TOP SECRET

Choose wisely.

Damnit... I'm not sure what to pick between the Terran Imperium and the Aventi Ascendency...
Guess I'll just roll for it... Terran's odd...
