[X] Full cooperation, the more you know about yourself the better (Longest time, largest possible gain)
-[X] Demand snacks in exchange
At a gesture from Catherine, you extend your right wing out into her waiting palm, holding as still as you can as you eat the piece of bacon Alaina offers in return. Catherine's been teaching you, Laurel and Alaina as much dragon-lore as she can for the past four hours now, using you as a model when relevant.
You made things a little difficult at first, repeatedly wriggling free from Catherine's lap to eat more breakfast. In the end, Alaina, giggling at your antics, just started feeding you herself, allowing you to remain in Catherine's lap as she continues to explain things.
It turns out that dragons have all sorts of abilities! Though sadly, you won't be seeing much of them until you're at least a little bit older. But! It seems that your Gift of Tongues is just the beginning of your gifts and magical effects.
To start with, when you gain the use of your voice, which should be in about a month if you work at it, you'll naturally be able to use magic. What this means, you don't really know, but Alaina seems excited, and that's enough for you.
When you do gain the power of speech beyond adorable chirps and warbles, you will apparently be able to speak every language ever. At once. It seems the Gift of Tongues works both ways, with you about able to make yourself understood you anyone you can understand the language of. This, of course, being everyone.
Then, at about a year of age, you'll receive the ability to use one of a dragon's most powerful, and well known, abilities. You will become able to breath dragonfyre. This of course, excites you considerably, causing Catherine to grip hold of your sides lest you fall from her lap completely. But that's not all. Between then and about three years old, you'll apparently figure out how to use your other breath weapon.
When Alaina asks what your second breath will do, Catherine shrugs. It seems to be that the secondary breath weapon for each dragon is wholly unique, though they do fall into a few, very general categories. Almost like a signature for the dragon it belongs to, the secondary flame is based off of the personality and temperament, as well as the ideals and strengths of the individual, kind of like a magic user's individual magical effect.
"I'm sure yours will be incredible, Neppy." Alaina says, scratching you behind your crest, causing you to slump against her hand slightly, grumbling your pleasure.
And so, the lecture continues. Topics range from your wings, ("He'll be able to fly at the age of five, but he needs to remember to exercise his wings until then.") to your appetite, ("He's actually eating rather healthily for a dragon of his size. They grow in bursts in the beginning, storing up a lot of food before each burst.") to how long you'll live, (If he stays safe, he should live for over a thousand years at the very least) and on and on and on.
Frankly, it's all kind of exhausting, listening to Catherine ramble on and on about you, your species, and famous dragons throughout the ages. You learn that dragon-blood is absurdly magical, causing you no small amount of alarm before Alaina reassures you, stating with a frown that "I'll always protect you, Neppy!"
Eventually, though, your endurance runs dry, and Catherine halts her lesson. She deposits you in Alaina's lap, who cuddles you close as she lies back on the sofa in her living area. Your eyes droop as the words of the people around you fade and you slip into a peaceful sleep.
Skill gained! – Knowledge (Dragons) – Dragonology is the study of you and yours, both your anatomy and abilities, and your history as a species.
Skill increased! – Knowledge (Dragons): Rank 2! – After listening to Catherine talk about your race for about six hours straight, you know a hell of a lot more about yourself than you did previously. You now know what sort of abilities you'll gain over the next five years. Though there will likely be challenges to go along with this.

You come back to awareness in the warm comfort of Alaina's embrace.
Wis-Test – Difficulty 5 (5-1 (You're on her chest) +1 (Sneaky Princess Sneaking)) – Rolled 6,3: 1 Success
The Princess is awake, you can tell by her breathing. Opening your eyes ever so slightly, you see her head is turned towards where you know Catherine was just before your nap. In fact, you can hear faint sounds, almost like whispers.
Dex-Test – Difficulty 3 (5-1 (They think you're asleep) -1 (Small)) – Rolled 8,6,3: 3 Successes, Good Success!
Silently, you turn your head towards where you last saw Catherine sitting. You open your eyes the barest crack as you spy upon Catherine and another figure who you recognise as Laurel.
They're sitting together in the armchair Catherine was using, side by side with their hands in each other's. They're murmuring to one another quietly while Catherine's head is resting on Laurel's shoulder. Straining your ears, you attempt to listen in on them.
Wis-Test – Difficulty 6 (5+1 (Whispers) +1 (They're across the room) -1(Good Stealth Success!)) – Rolled 8,2: 1 Success.
You don't catch much as you do your best to listen in, but you do hear the occasional snippet.
"—ings are changing, I can feel it in—"
"—orry. I'll look after them. You have my word, love."
"I love you. I wish we could be—"
"—know. So do I. We should tell him when things calm down some."
"It should be alright with Papa, but I worry about the reaction from Prin—"
"—uel him, and shame him thoroughly."
"Just don't kill the stupid boy."
"I'm more skilled than that, love."
"I know, but he's been irritating me with that suit of his for six months now. Papa is beginning to press me for a decision."
"—need not marry for politics, you know. The kingdom is strong enough for now."
"I know, but if we spin it right—"
"—be a noble, but my family's minor."
"Not with the way they're rising. You're approaching major status pretty quickly."
"I don't want to marry you for politics, Cathy. I want to marry you because I love you."
"I know, Laurel. I feel the same way, but the court will nee—"
A noise comes from Alaina, who shifts slightly in her 'sleep', and Laurel and Catherine freeze. You snap your eyes closed as they glance over towards to two of you. For a moment, the silence is deafening as they hold their breaths, waiting to see if either of you stir further.

What do you do?
[ ] Continue to pretend to sleep, they'll probably react poorly if they find out that you were listening in on them.
[ ] Pretend to begin waking up, Don't risk them finding out that you were awake all this time.
[ ] Write-in.

This has been in my head for a while now. and Laurel and Catherine were actually a thing before either of them had names. Alaina will probably go along with what you do, and I'll do her rolls in the background.
