From the Egg to the Stars (A Dragon Quest)

But we're cute. It should be allowed to climbed people's beards. Plus it's his fault he put it in front of us. What else would a baby dragon do.

I got to writing and this is coming to me a lot easier than last update.

That said, I need someone to roll me another d10 under the title "Nabbing the crown"

And another 3d10 titled "Getting away with it"

The difficulty changes based on how hard the test is, so the first test had a difficulty of 4, so you needed a 4 or above to generate a success. The second test is a difficulty 7, because you are small and the crown is pretty large. The results of the last test, however, are for me to know and you guys to find out when I post :3

Going for the Gold
So... The writer's bug sorta bit and wouldn't let go... Enjoy!

[X] Look big thing in the eyes silently.
-[X] Gleep.
--[x] grab beard( dangle in the air ) climb up
---[X] Make a grab for the jewel in the crown.
----[X] Perch on the king's head

For a moment, you just stare into the Kings eyes. They are an intense green, almost emerald and you find yourself lost in them. But before you find yourself lost completely, you remember that he asked you a question. But you don't speak whatever language these creatures speak yet, so how could you reply?

Then the solution hits you. Sitting, facing the king with as regal and serious expression you can manage, you open your mouth and say the first thing that comes into your mind:

"Gleep."

Obviously not getting the magnitude of your statement, the king blinks in surprise. As he does, his head moves slightly, causing his jewelled crown to catch the light, thoroughly distracting you. It's just so shiny, so pretty, you want it.

But how to get it? The easiest path you can see is using the King's weird face hair to your advantage, and so, utilising the element of surprise, you leap!

Dex-Test – Difficulty 4 (5-1(element of surprise)) – Rolled 3,6,8: 2 successes

And catch onto his beard, causing the king to cry out in alarm and rear back as Alaina lets out a gasp of surprise of her own. You get the feeling that this might have been kind of a bad idea but your goal is in sight now, there can be no turning back!

Nimble as a cat you climb up the king's strange face-hair, dodging the hand which came to extract you as you do so. Now reaching the top of the king's head, you see your prize: The shiny gold hat which shines so prettily.

Str-Test – Difficulty 7 (5+1(Size of crown) +1(Unstable footing)) – Rolled 5: No successes

You find as best purchase as you can atop the king's head and grab the crown, aiming to take it as your own shiny hat, and tug. Nothing happens, so you tug again. Somewhere at the back of your mind, you can hear Catherine and Alaina laughing as you continue to tug at the crown and dodge the king's hands as they come for you atop your perch.

Your mouth is starting to get tired though, and as you release your grip on the crown to get a better angle, you feel the king's hands finally encircle your belly. Ensnared, he gently but firmly lifts you away from both his head and your prize.

Lowered to face the king again, he deposits you back in Alaina's arms and frowns at you, his countenance stern. As you rack your brain on how to get out of the trouble you've probably just brought down on yourself.

Cha-Test – Difficulty 3 (5 -1(Adorable) -1(Alaina found this hilarious) -1(Catherine the Dragonologist) +1(Annoyed the king)) – Rolled 4,6,3: 3 successes

You gleep at him.

Alaina's laughter turns into mad giggles above you, looking around, you see Catherine laughing into her hand, and even Laurel is smirking slightly. Looking at the king, you see his expression soften slightly before he gives a chuckle of his own, shaking his head a little at your antics.

"Very well." He chuckles, sitting back down in his throne and taking in the sight of you, Alaina, Laurel and Catherine as they calm themselves and you simply continue to look at him. "Neptune may stay."

"Thank you Papa!" Alaina cries, hugging you tightly once again. You squirm a little and she loosens her grip, allowing you to simply rest in her arms again.

"But." He says, face stern again, "You will be held responsible for him. Understood?"

Alaina calms herself slightly as she nods, "Yes Papa."

The king looks at Laurel now, "Do try to keep them out of too much trouble?"

"Of course, your majesty." Laurel replies, bowing deeply.

"Then you may go. Catherine, a word?"

"Of course, Father."

Understanding that she and Laurel have been dismissed for now, Alaina carries you from the room. As you leave the great hall, you pass a couple of other creatures who look rather like Alaina, Catherine and the king. Both appear older than Alaina, but younger than Catherine. One, similar in body-shape to the king, looks rather dour, the frown on his face deepening slightly as he catches sight of you and Alaina.

The other creature appears to have a similar body-shape to Catherine, though it is shorter in stature. Its face is pleasant, but you do not like to look in its eyes. It feels… Cold.

But thankfully, you do not have to interact with either of them as Laurel leads you and Alaina right past and into a side corridor, leading you both higher and higher into the castle.

Finally, you reach the door to what you assume is Alaina's room, she didn't talk very much during your ascent through the castle, though this might simply be because she is tired. Going to the door, Laurel opens it to reveal…

[ ] A room filled with soft toys and other comfortable objects.
[ ] A room papered with all sorts of drawings, sketches and bits of scrap paper.
[ ] A room books stacked high, far too many to store on the already overflowing bookshelves.
[ ] A room filled nearly to the brim with plants in all sizes and colours.
[ ] Write-in

This vote is largely to decide on something for Alaina. It is also going to affect your growth, however, so think carefully before you decide. After this and the next couple of parts, we'll be sorting out how to proceed (I'm thinking of doing a series of month-long "turns")

So girly social princess, architect princess, book worm wizard princess, botany alchemist princess, and possible sword princess or what ever we pick?

Anything but this. It feels way too overused.

Edit: Voting for this, since it already has one vote and plus it is one of my favorites among the remaining three:
[X] A room filled nearly to the brim with plants in all sizes and colours.

[X] A room papered with all sorts of drawings, sketches and bits of scrap paper.

eh could be an inventor typ and that could get funny pretty fast.

[X] A room filled with canvases, and finished paintings hanging from the walls. The one currently on the long easel appeared to be that of a dragon. You frown. That doesn't look like you at all.

Artsy princess!

You can do a write in, you know?

Also, updated the character info on the front page, Stats are set to change as you grow and develop. As are your traits.

[X] A room with nothing easily flammable.

E: For the record, what I am trying to decide for Princess is that she can think ahead a little and isn't completely impulsive.

I think its important to stress this as I wasn't aiming for funnies.

Adopting you was kind of a spur of the moment thing for her, so she is definitely a little impulsive. But I can see you're reasoning.
