[x] Plan Merchant-Diplomat

[x] Scions of the Maidens

[x] Diplomacy

[x] Greedy
[x] Subtle
[x] Hedonist

Being a ruler mean that majority of the work is HR management. This means that only diplomacy is a viable educational choice. Everything else may be delegated. Scions of the Maidens because it is a religion of merchants - who are a power anyway. Being subtle is always good, and resources are never a burden. Hedonism - well, if one does not embrace pleasures of living, why he lives? And knowing pleasures, we should know how to make our subjects pleased. I would like to take Administrator, but blah! no free slots left.

How often we shall see something like this with current selection of the realm ?

You mean martial education, pushing aside political and financial education? when, you know, we want a ruler? Whose job is to talk people to do things and choose what projects to invest into?

It has been strongly impressed upon us that not being capable of swording things in a pinch is bad.

To the point where picking Weak is one of the few options that gives us another trait. The only other thing that does this is a trait that tanks our diplomacy.

Do note that I picked a very powerful trait with regards to leadership and ruling. On par with Genius, except more focused. I'm pretty sure it's going to make us a good ruler.

I fail to see how education not focused on punching things became 'not able of swording things'

Forgive me, but knowing how to lead people does not help at all in making your point with a partner. Having a united team would help nothing if we can't cut a deal with our neighbor or sneak our way out of inconvenient obligations.

BTW, we are pointed that making an expy is not encouraged.

Except... I didn't? I just implied that the PC may or may not be descended from the Schnees by dint of being good at wrangling people and having a knack for Dust?

The issue at hand is that Martial Education does not mean that "Whoops! I'm bad at anything not martial!".

@Alectai You're correct there. Bit of a CK2 player here myself, and really the only thing that decent Martial training negatively affects is Learning, which is simply a two point decrease at the 3rd level. I doubt it will translate that much in game, but the only negative effect that the entire Martial Education Trait line has is Learning, which is only a flat -1 AT MOST to Learning, which can easily be trained.

And now time for my own plan.

[x] Plan: The Mountain That Walks

[x] Rites of the Progenitors

-Because why not have Techno-Vikings who worship the Huntsmen? It'll be great in this case.

[x] Martial

-Because we will be doing a lot of raiding as a Techno-Viking, so we are really going to want to lay on the power! Besides, more martial = more men = more food and money = more power.

[x] Duelist
[x] Giant
[x] Raider

-Avoiding Genius like the plague. That can always be added into the bloodline later, since marriage will play a big part. And what will play a bigger part than a giant with blade skills and a history of going out to sea and raiding other settlements? I may or may not be trying to summon the fury of the Vikings.

But we don't have the Dust Mastery to go full on Vaulters with your build!

And Leadership looks like a really good trait to have, and one that would be very hard to get later if it's something that can be 'Inherited', because Leaders usually don't like bending the knee.

[X] Plan City-Builder

A destined individual who builds things. That is awesome.

I'm not really a fan of "Destiny" as a concept in a game like this though. It seems too prone to either being a wasted pick or sticking railway tracks under you.

[X] Plan City-Builder
[X] Rites of the Progenitors

[X] Stewardship: You have been educated on ruling your realm and securing its finances. (Stewardship +)

[X] Administrator: You've mastered the day-to-day running of a realm at the expense of other pursuits.
[X] Architect: You spent some of your youth learning the art of construction, and its importance in the Age of Grimm.
[X] Touched By Destiny: Despite the cruel world you inhabit, you've always felt a sense of… purpose.

I'm with Alectai in that Destiny seems a little... off, but other than that this build looks like the most interesting one. Who needs personal skill when you have a kickass fortress-city utopia?

And it works. While other are obsessed about fighting over bits of scrap let by the ancients that they bairly understand or half-remembered feuds, we're going to build something new, something lasting that will rise our people from the ashes.

Could be worse. We could have gotten the destiny title slapped on us in a 40k game.
