n that day of red sky, when hordes of bloodborne beasts threatened to overwhelm the world, the sage gathered his four disciples and marched to war.
As the various sects and kingdoms of the land fell one by one and all hope was thought lost the sage and his disciples entered the war.
His disciples were mighty, each blow shattering tens of thousands of beasts but their might paled before the sage whose sheer presence could obliterate any beast in 100 li range.
For six days they battled, pushing back the beast tides and on the seventh the sage raised four peaks form the earth and entrusted them to his disciples.
The sage commanded his disciples to use his gift to protect their home in his absence, a day later the sage entered the red jewel and was never seen again.
In time his disciples perished whether to the blade or to grayness and in their death they entrusted their peak to their disciples who, in time entrusted them to their own disciples…
and so the Four Peak Sects were born.
The founding of the Four Peak Sects, written by Xiao Cu, Head Librarian of the North Peak Sect ,3rd Era, Year 3789.
The Four Peak Sects are the greatest sects in our world there is no power –sect or kingdom- that doesn't give them face and tribute, their disciples are invited to thousands of tournaments and are given a place of honor by the hosts.
When one of their disciples visits the local sect or kingdom it would be no surprise to see their elders or kings kowtow before them.
With all this respect one would come to the conclusion that like their peaks the relations between the Four Peak Sects and the others sects and kingdoms is like the relation between heaven and earth.
One would be wrong, any tribute gained is taken by threat of the beast blood, any face given wanes with the beast tides, when they participate in tournaments all try to eliminate and embarrass them while the kings and elders kowtow they are already scheming how to kill them and profit from it…
On second thought, the relationship between heaven and earth is the perfect description.
