A hole snapped open beneath his feet and without looking he simply dropped the still screaming man. Under the pull of gravity the man dropped down the sixty three feet deep hole that was going to be his prison for the time being for the other options where untenable for Alex's purpose. He didn't know enough of the people that he was going to be meeting soon, to judge how they would react to losing one of their number in an unexplained fashion. Which meant that his options if he wanted to begin again with humanity on a better footing that he would need to keep the questionable actions to a minimum, at least until he was truly trusted by the coming people.
As the shapes came closer Alex drew into his body and shifted though the mass of genes and alleles that he had gathered over the time he slept. Even with the disorganization that he was suffering from it was only the work of a few seconds to alter his eyes to see further than anything on Earth had ever achieved before. Next to him, Bradley was looking towards the fuzzy shapes of the coming people, knowing that a normal human would be unable to see even that at this distance. However, he wished to see more and in the back of his mind a gift that had been given over the slumber awoke for the first time. Genes snapped into place, proteins where reshaped even as Bradley's brain was reshaped to allow by the gift, with a sicking change in perception he could see the oncoming bands. Even with the gift helping him, Bradley at his core was still too human to handle the influx of information that he was now seeing.
With a gasp of pain he collapsed to the ground even as the alterations to his body began to fade away. Alex smiled even as he knelt to make sure that Bradley was well, as he was fully aware of what had just happened. "It looks like you gained the ability to shape biology much as I can. However, it seems that your gift doesn't allow you to make full use of it right now. After this meeting I will assist you in learning how to use it," spoke Alex in a calming tone to the shuddering form of Bradley. Alex considered removing him from the meeting and simply let him heal naturally, but even with the Hive and Dana, he was uncertain if he would be able to handle the eighty four people that would be in the meeting. Placing his right hand on Bradley's back he slipped tendrils of his body into Ragland's body, seeking out the places where his uncontrolled use of the gift that he had been given had harmed him. With relative ease Alex soothed the damaged cells with his own body, quickly bringing Ragland back to the world.
"What was that? It felt like my head was going to pop," moaned Bradley as he climbed back to his feet. "That was you unlocking a remnant of the time I spent rebuilding your body. You and Dana are connected to me and through me to the Hive. Through this connection you have each been given one echo of my powers. You seem to have gained the power to shape and alter the bodies of living organisms, including yourself. This later part is what caused the problem as it altered your brain, but you couldn't handle the changes and that caused the headache." Alex stated with confidence, now that Ragland was back on his feet looking far better than before.
Twenty minutes after Ragland's ill fated experience with his new gift, the bands of humans left the valleys of Blacklight that where leading them to the place where Alex waited. In the front of them walked one persons that the Hive quickly identified as being the leader of each band with their guard to their side but a few steps back. The fourth band to enter the area was wrong, in some fashion even if the Hive was unable to truly determine what was wrong.
They wore black and green robes with what seemed to be fungus growing upon them. As the final of them came into the area they appeared to look around at the others before turning towards Alex who stood in the center of the cleared area. The leader raised his right hand which held a dagger shouting, "For the Grandfather," before charging towards Alex even as his six followers raced towards the other bands already in the area. Alex was beyond confused about what had been happing to the point where the tip of the knife touched the surface of his body. From this single touch a virus entered his form and attempted to harm him, Blacklight rebelled against the intruder and over the course of the next millisecond the newcomer was brutally destroyed by Blacklight and the parts that where harmed by it where cast from Alex's body. Even as his body forced the virus into submission, he was being attacked by the person that had charged at him. Releasing his full power he unleashed a punch that would have shattered an entire main battle tank of his time turning the crazed man into little more than a mist. Moving with such speed that bullets would seem slow in comparison, Alex raced into the battle, each millisecond that passed was another person tuned into little more than bloody mist. As seven milliseconds came to a close the battle was over with all of the attackers nothing more than a smear of blood upon the ground.
"Well, that was interesting, a cult of plagues an unusual sight these days. Most of them have been killed off by the planners of the areas as their refusal to change their tactics dooms them. Regardless, I am Rhianira, and I lead this band of people. Now what are you: a monster of times long past, something that cults like those worship or are you neither?" Rhianira spoke while unsheathing a bladed weapon that the Hive quickly identified as a normal sword, if of an unknown shape and metal.
Alex looked around before replying, "I will answer your questions inside the building behind me. Make your way to the third floor and I will meet you there. I am Alex Mercer and the two with me are: Bradley Ragland and Dana Mercer. Do not attack us and we will not attack you," before turning and retreating into the building.
As the remaining seventy seven people began to walk into the building they looked around at the walls of what seemed to be stone and glass. The work of the Hive had been well as the shifting beams of light calmed them down, while the murals on the walls gave them something to look upon. The floor was unusual to them for they where accustomed to the solid ground and the floor upon which they walked gave way under their footsteps. The winding staircase that lead upward reveled to them images of the past and visions of the future. As they reached the top of the staircase they saw a massive table triangular in shape with Alex at the tip and to his left sat Bradley, while to his right sat Dana Mercer.
As the seventy seven people took their seats at the table the leader of the third band began to speak,, in a tone best described as worried "What are you? You are not human for no human that I know of can act that fast." With a sigh, Alex rubbed his forehead as he knew that his actions in killing the attacker were coming back to bit him now. "I am different from normal humans. My body is far better suited to handle speeds and forces that would crush or otherwise severely harm a normal human, thanks to genetic engineering in my early life. I only just awoke a few hours ago in a stasis vault under the area in which we are sitting. Unfortunately, our awakening must have disturbed the ground around us and caused a rapid cave in. We only barely managed to escape with out lives, even with our genetic augmentations."
Amira snarled as the man in front of her spoke barefaced lies in response to her inquiry. "You expect me to believe that you somehow woke up from stasis just before a cave in, then still completely out of your mind on the stasis drugs to somehow escape the cave-in that has completely hidden this supposed vault? Even with our understanding of the technology gone we still know some things regarding it and one thing everyone knows is that leaving stasis rapidly is a quick way to die." Just as she finished speaking her part the leader of the fifth band spoke up in rough hoarse voice, "I agree with the leader of the third band. You are obviously trying to hide something from us. What is it?" Was all he said before falling silent once more.
With his bluff facing problems Alex knew he had to act fast to salvage this from deteriorating ever more. Thankfully from what the hive could infer is that all of the other bands where accepting of his statements and if he could provide a reasonable answer to the questions of the third and fifth bands he would be set, as the other groups would most likely aid him in convincing the two suspicious groups.

[] see if you can use your past to convince them that you are telling the truth
[] reveal the truth (most likely to cause problems with the other bands)
[] try to get the other bands to support your story
