[Z] Stay in Brockton, prepare to fight Lung (The Demon will flourish in the supernatural meaning of his name)
Lung is the obvious choice. He's local for one, and the easiest to find. His powers also match up well, as outside of physical blows, he can only empower The Demon. And what a precious sight that will be, the Dragon faltering before the Demon, unable to do damage, helpless despite his power. Hmm...maybe he should tape it.
But to make that a reality...he has work to do. Just as Lung cannot hurt him with his fire, he cannot hurt Lung. And unless he wishes to try to power level himself by taking some risks, that will remain...unless he taps into his past repertoire and becomes Thriller once again. Thriller moved fast enough to casually dodge bullets, catch them, and throw them back faster. Thriller can cover the battlefield in wires, slicing people in half, throwing cars, disassembling an 18 Wheeler or an Airplane, restraining hundreds if not thousands of people from moving, or even breathing. And yet Thriller still died.
Despite that death, unless he, as The Demon, came up with a different form of offense, he would need to borrow some, if not all of that from Thriller. Lung can ignore bullets once he's ramped up enough, or so they say, but can he survive a symphony of a thousand swords moving faster than sound? Can he survive car after car being slammed into him? That...is less likely.
However, Thriller was also born with some of his ability. He vividly remembers brutally dismembering an entire pack of wolves by the time he was nine, with his bare hands, something Trent, his current body, likely cannot do. He remembers training for his speed, but he also remembers it coming easily to him. And he remembers inventing this fighting style, one that is needlessly meticulous and difficult, one where the sole purpose is to be spooky, to trick others into fearing his presence, one to control the battlefield and the people in it, one that not even a super genius like Crane could learn, even if given weeks (and maybe months) by his own admission. A style that Villain figured out how to beat in mere minutes.
Shaking his head of the negative thoughts, he returns to constructive thinking. Right now he is weak and slow, physically. No stronger or faster than an average teenager...until he got some fire in his system at least. To reach his old level...is likely not possible within less than six months, but he can try, he can see just how close he can get. Or...he can cut corners maybe. Maybe the Demon has no need to train his body due to how his powers of absorbing fire for permanent gain can work. Maybe the Demon only needs an improved body, and the nearly invisible wires, the calling card of Thriller can be thrown out completely. It is even possible that what the Demon needs is the skill of Thriller, the skill in hand to hand combat, in dodging, and in swordsmanship. Close quarters combat in other words. Or...as the Demon King, he might be able to use some combination of the above. Or maybe he needed none of them. Maybe it would be better to lean into his current powerset and try to leverage that to defeat Lung in a few months time.
Looking at the clock, he cannot suppress his grin. The date reads October 31st. Perfect in many ways. He has time.
