Forged In Fire (A Worm Quest)

[] Travel to Boston and consume The Butcher

We do that, and gain so much more power while also making everyone deathly afraid of killing us since no one wants free insanity. This comes with the possibly added benefit of power synergy!

[] Stay in Brockton, prepare to fight Lung (The Demon will flourish in the supernatural meaning of his name)

I won't even include the other option, since a Demon of all things becoming a mundane and easy person without that burning pride and arrogance is just a weird way to go for a King. we also make a good name for ourselves by taking down The Dragon of Kyushu. I say that it's probably a big step to attract the S9 to us.

Prison rules, get rid of the biggest guy in the yard first, right?! THEN we build group presence (if we want to)!

The Butcher...from what he understands, possesses whomever ends the Butcher's life and turns them into the next Butcher, driving them mad with power and the voices of every Butcher prior. Sort of like Dracula. Yet he, as The Demon, has nothing to worry about, as he can all but guarantee that such a thing won't work on him.

Until he shows evidence he's actually supernatural like no-selling a powerful trump, he could just be a second trigger imagining himself to be supernatural.

yell heah, no one will catch us, nothing shall stop us now!

[X] Search for the Slaughterhouse Nine and make a name

It would be funny if, following the results of the hunt, the Demon would join Slaughterhouse Nine.

Prelude: Dragon vs. Demon
[Z] Stay in Brockton, prepare to fight Lung (The Demon will flourish in the supernatural meaning of his name)

Lung is the obvious choice. He's local for one, and the easiest to find. His powers also match up well, as outside of physical blows, he can only empower The Demon. And what a precious sight that will be, the Dragon faltering before the Demon, unable to do damage, helpless despite his power. Hmm...maybe he should tape it.

But to make that a reality...he has work to do. Just as Lung cannot hurt him with his fire, he cannot hurt Lung. And unless he wishes to try to power level himself by taking some risks, that will remain...unless he taps into his past repertoire and becomes Thriller once again. Thriller moved fast enough to casually dodge bullets, catch them, and throw them back faster. Thriller can cover the battlefield in wires, slicing people in half, throwing cars, disassembling an 18 Wheeler or an Airplane, restraining hundreds if not thousands of people from moving, or even breathing. And yet Thriller still died.

Despite that death, unless he, as The Demon, came up with a different form of offense, he would need to borrow some, if not all of that from Thriller. Lung can ignore bullets once he's ramped up enough, or so they say, but can he survive a symphony of a thousand swords moving faster than sound? Can he survive car after car being slammed into him? That...is less likely.

However, Thriller was also born with some of his ability. He vividly remembers brutally dismembering an entire pack of wolves by the time he was nine, with his bare hands, something Trent, his current body, likely cannot do. He remembers training for his speed, but he also remembers it coming easily to him. And he remembers inventing this fighting style, one that is needlessly meticulous and difficult, one where the sole purpose is to be spooky, to trick others into fearing his presence, one to control the battlefield and the people in it, one that not even a super genius like Crane could learn, even if given weeks (and maybe months) by his own admission. A style that Villain figured out how to beat in mere minutes.

Shaking his head of the negative thoughts, he returns to constructive thinking. Right now he is weak and slow, physically. No stronger or faster than an average teenager...until he got some fire in his system at least. To reach his old level...is likely not possible within less than six months, but he can try, he can see just how close he can get. Or...he can cut corners maybe. Maybe the Demon has no need to train his body due to how his powers of absorbing fire for permanent gain can work. Maybe the Demon only needs an improved body, and the nearly invisible wires, the calling card of Thriller can be thrown out completely. It is even possible that what the Demon needs is the skill of Thriller, the skill in hand to hand combat, in dodging, and in swordsmanship. Close quarters combat in other words. Or...as the Demon King, he might be able to use some combination of the above. Or maybe he needed none of them. Maybe it would be better to lean into his current powerset and try to leverage that to defeat Lung in a few months time.

Looking at the clock, he cannot suppress his grin. The date reads October 31st. Perfect in many ways. He has time.

What would he train in?
[] Wires
[] Speed+Strength
[] Close Quarters Combat
[] All of the Above
[] None of the Above

How long would he train (more time gives more likelihood of mastering more things, can be cut short if training completes quickly)
[] 1 month
[] 3 months
[] 6 months

[X] All of the Above
[X] 6 months

We may as well spend all the time we want on it, the longer we can fight with Lung while being able to kill him, the stronger we will become.

before we go on an epic training montage, i don't want us to train like a beast and by the time we're done, Lung is in the birdcage, bakuda is going insane and canon is fully on the rails. so if possible, can we get an inkling of where we are in the timeline?
