First Encounter Task Force

I'm not sure that we need to worry about replacements so much as preserving experience, given the change in mechanics form XCOM.
I think maintaining our force strength is part of our challenge, given the emphasis in the after-action reports on the number of troops still mission-ready and how long non-mission-ready troops will be out.

What I mean is, I think we should be more concerned about keeping our troops in fighting shape then in finding new troops.

To clarify a bit, replacing soldiers isn't too big of a deal unless something goes really wrong, but until you can get your casualty rate down your ability to accrue experience will be limited. To a certain extent the squads themselves are the equivalent of individual troopers in XCOM, so you are promoting in sergeants who aren't just 'generic'. There will be other promotions to improve leadership as well, along with characters picking up new traits as they go.

So is there any way to change our squds loadout to deal with diffrent aliens?
We've got to develop tools for dealing with separate alien species first before we can swap between loadouts specialized towards one opponent or another. Also, we've only just encountered our second type/species of alien - we've never had to deal with differing equipment needs before.

Finally, we don't actually have any way of telling which aliens will be present before we respond yet - given the close in vs stay at range approaches doctrine calls for or the two types optimizing our squad's loadout for one type might well backfire should the other type be present in large numbers.

So any Idea how the NHI controls the Celebrants? Besides psychic powers.

Edit: @Academia Nut you haven't updated this thread for a long time is threre any problems?
