Feed The Fire - A RWBY/Armored Core VI:Fires of Rubicon Quest

Didn't expect a new update.

Anyway, reasoning:

[ ] Caution. Ironwood is a major player. He could be a powerful ally, or a dangerous enemy. You won't play all your cards… especially regarding C-Weapons. While your physical form's utility as a weapon can't be concealed, Remnant seems to have strong cultural taboos that will mitigate against using your undiscovered siblings as bombs… hopefully.

Keeping cards up our sleeves is a good idea due to Arthur Watts and other potential spies. Most Remnant scientist wouldn't use Coral as just fuel, but not all, and those that would are the ones that matters when it comes to creating problems for us later down the line.

But this option doesn't hide this use exists, it just doesn't help develop it....

[ ] Alliance. Ironwood is a close friend, at least professionally, of Pietro, and seems genuinely concerned for Penny, though somewhat stilted - Penny shared a lot of his steadfast advocacy of the project that created her. Additionally, he seems to value loyalty and return it - working with him promises dividends, as long as you're forthright about your objectives. You'll work with him, and push his goals as long as they don't harm your dream of symbiosis too much.

I trust Ironwood, I don't trust those that works with him.

Pass.

Even if this is likely to slow us down, I personally think it is worth it. I see this as a false good option, the problems more on the down low but actually very annoying long term. As for those problems, see the previous option: This is the options that gives Arthur Watts C-weapons, I don't want to give him C-weapons.

This isn't lying to Ironwood, by the way, just not helping him as much.

Staying independent and out of the political landscape.

[ ] Balanced. You're hopeful for a close working relationship with Ironwood, but you're also cautious about authority figures after how Coral has been treated in the past. You'll open yourself to an alliance, and offer technical support, but you won't train his forces or push hard on technology.

This one is the best for secrecy, but the worst for rapid development.

I value secrecy far, far more though.

[ ] Get home - Your main priority is re(?)-establishing contact with Rubicon III, and hopefully, Raven. Everything else comes in second to that. However, given Remnant's primitive space-borne industry, you're going to shake up a lot of things on the way home, and focusing on regaining FTL technology will leave Remnant's broader tech-base necessarily under-developed, possibly leaving it vulnerable to conquest.

Leaving Remnant vulnerable is a great way to have Salem do said conquest. And it allows the corpos to pressure us if we reach them too.

Bad idea IMO. Raven can wait.

[ ] Technological uplift - Getting home is important, but your goal of symbiosis must always come first. Raven will understand. Integrating humans, Coral, and humanity's synthetic children into a functioning society that won't get looted by the first megacorp or system government in a conquering mood will go a long way towards realizing your dream. On the other hand, broader technological development will definitely slow your return to the friend you made on Rubicon III.

Solid fondations are the best thing, and this is the option for it.

Plus if well done, it can allow for forcing Salem's hands and showing herself a little.
And also, here is one very important argument:

This is the *Fuck you Jacque Schnee* option, the best one to work directly on destroying his monopoly.

[ ] Home… with friends! - Your main priority is returning to Rubicon III… but you won't leave Remnant to be plundered by a ruthless galaxy. There's potential for a strong defensive alliance between Remnant and Rubicon, as long as Remnant can catch most of the way up. Helping Remnant get most of the way up to galactic standard will position them well as equal partners… provided the politics work out.

This is the option that requires the most politics and works best with Alliance... and as I said, I don't want Alliance.

Nyarky raises some excellent points, so I'm following their example.

Well, my combination didn't win but at least the one that did makes sense.

Alliance would've been horrible with *get home* for example. (feels like a betrayal).

But Alliance with Home... with friends?

Those two choices are the most politic of the two, in the meaning of they are the two that most likely will deal in politic, and Alliance is the one that put a political power in our corner.

I still would have preferred to go full: Look at me, Jacque Schnee, and despair as I destroy your entire racist monopoly by introducing new variables that aren't as much under your control as they come from an outside source. As opposed to this one where his influence in the government can lead to influence on what we do. But I can live with this.
