Conversation part 1:

You see Shirou Emiya making his way to the Archery Dojo and on a whim (and some slight poking from Cyte) you wandered over to converse with him. "Hello there Emiya-san! How are you doing this fine evening?"

Shirou seemed somewhat startled, "huh? Oh, Hello there, Kishinami-san. I am doing quite well." Odd, you kind of expected him to say more than just that… and the silence drags on until- "What are you doing here this late Kishinami-san?"

"I was rummaging through the Lost and Found storage looking for anything that interested me."

"Did you lose something?"

"Maybe. If I did, then I do not know it yet; which is why I went through the Lost and Found."

"...That is nice, I think."

"I did however find this interesting book; well, interesting in the 'it feels odd' sort of way."

"Would you mind if I took a look at it then, Kishinami-san?"

Do you let Shirou Analyze the book?

Cyte mentioned he felt something odd coming from The Occult Bathroom Stall… which oddly co-incided with sounds of steel hitting steel originating from the school Courtyard. At this point, you felt that investigating the sounds would be the Horror Movie Option and decided to follow Cyte's direction; mostly because getting rid of the magic usually got rid of the monsters or greatly de-powered them in horror movies. As you approached the stall, you noticed the circle is now glowing purple and making the entire restroom color-appropriate for a horror scene.

Ah, I know this circle… well, the style at least. It is a summoning beacon.

That didn't seem like enough information at all. 'And…?'

That is all I know. The Magic Expert I spent time with used nothing but squares and pentagons for her ritual magic and this circle's interior inscriptions look vaguely like her summoning rituals.

The light of the circle went from purple to white. 'Cyte, What is happening?'

It is reacting to a catalyst… take out that skull and book it may be reacting to them.

Yeah... it needs work.

Any suggestions for a rewrite of it?

Well,since this entire conversation can be summed up as: "Hi! Hey, I don't like what you believe in and I think it is stupid. You're stupid. Okay bye!"

I would recommend one or two things, first don't go for the whole 'your ideal is shit' from the start but rather take the time to have the two meet with each other on separate occasions. And each time they meet have Hakuno slowly come to understand more and more that something isn't right with Shirou and finally come to realize what eaxctly is wrong. Then you do the whole 'your ideal is shit'.

This would require a series of conversations however, and if you want to do this all in one post... its going to take a long, in depth conversation between the two. Take note that there are two supernatural beings clashing right outside. They don't have that time.

So... yeah if you want to do that you've essentially written yourself into a corner.

Also take note that all of this is under the assumption that this is the first time the two have spoken at length.

Any suggestions for a rewrite of it?

Write the reasons why the conversation is going this way into the text. Why are we so hostile about his dream of being a hero that we've pre-planned a speech?

Also, add non-verbal cues to the conversation. What does Shirou look like? How does he move? How does his voice sound? How do his expression and voice change as he speaks? Can the narrator hear his own voice getting loud or high as he gets agitated?

[X] Book and skull:

- [X] The skull is not very impressive. It is a slightly uneven pale-brown and has several chips around the edges. It also seems too small for an adult, but you aren't sure if you're just projecting. It just seems so impossible that once all the things that make a person were nestled into something you can cradle in your hands to consider. There's no holes of cracks in the main part of the skull. (Cyte confounds your fanciful hope that two of the eye chips might be hiding where the holes for horns once were, by informing you that most horns attach to the outside of skulls.) Incongruously, there's teeth attached to the protrusion at the front, even though there's no lower jaw. They seem to be roughly the normal shape for teeth, though very worn and with several missing. You run your tongue over your own teeth, wondering.

-[X] At first glance, the book looks like something owned by a rich person who had a library for decorative reasons. Plain covers in dull brown with no title. When you turn away from the skull to flick through it, you're surprised to find that it's handwritten. The calligraphy is beautiful, black and crisp on soft, creamy paper. You stroke it a moment, then remember that you aren't supposed to get finger oils on fancy paper and resolve to only touch the edges of the pages from then on. It seems to be love poetry in an old style, all addressed to the same person, the writer's husband. There is a switch two-thirds of the way through. Before it there are a lot of references to this couple going into battle together. After it, he is dead and the wife fights alone. The poems after his death are incredibly poignant. It sounds like a pretty unlikely scenario, but the whole thing is so beautiful that you can't help being sucked in.

Wasn't sure how much detail I should be giving here, so the bold is obvious with a brief appraisal, while the rest is apparent with attention.

Okay, I fixed the conversation so that it feels much better for the character. I put in some of my hate towards how idiotic and stupid canon-Shirou could be last night, and I apologize. Forgive me for this unwarranted slight and remind me if I do it again.

On another note, I should not write when I am drowsy.

What would happen if the two nervous systems got linked I wonder.
Feedback loops are the main result. Usually Cyte's species has to completely take over/replace the host's brain in order to use the body. It is fairly recently historically speaking (~400 years ago) that they figured out a way to override the nervous system of other particular species; which lead to more cooperation since the diplomats of other species do not have to become 'zombies' to establish communications. Not that it really helped considering Cyte's stellar neighborhood.

To get myself ready for the interaction with Shirou Emiya (god I slacked off) have an interlude.

*****Assassin****
Today, like the past five days, Assassin waited around the steps of the temple. Today, like the past five days, Assassin greeted his summoner and her anchor as they came down to enjoy the city on their dates whenever he did not leave for his teaching career or she turning the temple into a fortress. It was a mostly boring affair all told. Oh well, Assassin had time to build up his power in peace.

The only excitement Assassin had were two other Servants who investigated the temple. The first fled at high speed after finding out her nail-chains were no much for his telekinetic blades while the latter tried to snipe him with a modified sword. Tried was the operative word. The pseudo-missile was blown up by a rail-gun powered I-beam traveling at mach five, with a second aimed at the Archer who fired the missile. The Servant pulled out a high level defensive Noble Phantasm to block the projectile, a seven-leafed pink flower at first glance.

Assassin ruffled his white hair, red eyes beaming and smirked, apparently this 'War' would be very entertaining very soon…

Okay guys, I am continuing this quest from where I left off: most notably the summoning phase.

To recap: (IC) the MC died from a pierced chest and got revived by an alien parasite turned symbiote. The character has a few enhancements but his behavior has not been noticeable because his family decided to have a brief trip abroad a few days ago. Right now the MC is at the school and heard sounds coming from the court yard after his brief talk with Shirou Emiya and decided to head back to the occult circle he found earlier.

(OC) Welcome to the fifth Holy Grail War in Fuyuki. Berserker, Assassin and maybe Saber will be different. (Note: True Assassin has been summoned by Caster, and the MC has a chance to 'capture' Rider.)

Note 2: There is a poll at the top. Possible summons are Avenger (nonstandard), Saber and Beast in no particular order.

Okay since the vote has been over for three days and there are two votes each for Cyte and the Book. I will roll a die.

Edit: book wins, summoning inbound.

Edit2: Congrats, you summoned a different Saber. One that is damn near unkillable.

Cyte as a catalyst would have brought his ancestor as a Beast with combat immortality with a version of Knight of Honor.

The skull would have brought out Avengers (two of them) who are incarnations of Fire and Ice respectively, though they have personalities opposite of their element.
Wizzrobe threw 1 2-faced dice. Reason: 1 = cyte, 2= book Total: 2
2 2

The summoning
As the circle's glow turns blinding so does the book in your right hand start to do the same.
Interesting...
Your eyes shut close, to prevent yourself from being blinded when all of a sudden words start to come to your mind. However, Cyte was the one who spoke with your lips.
Quarks and Matter formed the Beginning.
However the tone sounds... off.
Dark Matter and Magic hold the universe stable.
The speech is quite monotonous and impersonal.
The safety of our descendants are all that we hope for.
The mental signature of Cyte is bland compared to his previous presence.
The Universe has a border and the sixty-four gates are closing.
Now you feel... something flowing through you towards the circle.
The Stars' deaths shall become our salvation and their energy flows through us all.
The circle starts to hum;
Collect. (Destroy) Collect. (Destroy) Collect. (Destroy) Collect. (Destroy) Collect. (Destroy)
Your body starts to tire;
Start again after the fifth. Disappear when complete.
Your nerves burn;
We Proclaim:
Your muscles ache;
Your Spirit is at my Will. My Life is at Yours.
Your bones vibrate;
The Artifact countenances the deal. Heed the Summoning.
You taste the color purple, feel the smell of lemon;
This is my Creed: I am the one who follows Justice.
You are idly aware that Cyte's body is twitching horribly, much like your own;
Heed me, champions of the past, present and future. COME FORTH!
The circle explodes and you hear black.

Writer's block, but I want to get this part down before I lose it. This part is based on the SB Build a Servant Thread.

Saber
(Alternate Class: Shielder)
True Name: Unknown
Alternate titles: (Defender of all, That Bastard who Laughs at Death)
Alignment: Good, Neutral
Armaments: Two short swords, one kite shield, and a dagger.

Saber spent most of his life as a 'Knight Errant'*, wandering around doing deeds that befitted his beliefs about how knights* should act, even when the deeds go against the laws of the land. As such his adventures nearly ended when he angered a powerful lord of his homeland who also commanded the ear of Saber's king* and presented falsified charges. Saber accepted banishment from his kingdom despite his innocence of the charges and was sent, in chains, to a wasteland that no one returned from. The wasteland was home to a race of daemons* in the midst of an invasion by an outside force and, in exchange for his freedom, agreed to repel the invasion to the best of his abilities. Within the first month*, Saber effectively became the Daemon's Chosen one of Light and as such was blessed by the priest-hood. These blessings enabled Saber, and his companions, to first slow down, then reverse the invasion until Saber and his companions counter-invaded the Outsiders' capital and killed their ruler.

* = closest English definition

Strength: B [B-]
Endurance: B (A) [EX]
Agility: C (C-)
Mana: B
Luck: D
NP: A

Class Skills:

Magic Resistance: C (B)
Magic Resistance grants protection against magical effects. Differently from the Resistance effect that merely rejects prana, this ability cancels the spells altogether. Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected.

Riding: C
Riding is expertise to ride animals and vehicles. The Servant is capable of handling most mundane animals and vehicles with considerable skill. They can achieve difficult maneuvers with some effort.

Personal Skills:

Guardian Knight: B (A)
The Servant is renowned as a guardian and defender. Whenever they are protecting something that is even remotely associated with any aspect of their legend, they gain a significant boost to their defensive abilities.

Eye of the Mind (True) B
Heightened insight that was refined through experience. Capable of calm analysis of battle conditions even when in danger and deduce an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities to escape from a predicament. So long there is even a 1% chance of a comeback, this ability greatly improves the chances of winning.

Bravery: A
The ability to negate mental interference such as pressure, confusion and fascination. The Servant is immune to all mental interferences, including distractions, emotions, illusions. The Servant is immune to any mental interference below the level of High Thaumaturgy. Even High Thaumaturgy level mental interference will be reduced in potency and duration.

Noble Phantasms:

Defender's Armor: Support (C-A)
This armor slightly enhances Saber's physical capabilities and grants an additional rank in Endurance when prana is circulated through the armor but also reduces Agility. The Armor also greatly reduces the effects of most blows and, in situations where the battlefield is swamped with prana, can slowly restore Saber's prana reserves.

Blessings of the God of Light: Support (C-A)
Saber is able to shrug off nigh-lethal wounds to keep fighting and can restore himself and others around him back to their full health. This phantasm artificially counts as Battle Continuation of Rank B and raising Magic Resistance by one rank when fully activated, however this does come at the cost of lowering physical offensive capabilities.

Wrath of the God of Light: Offense, Anti-unit (B)
Saber's primary damage dealing to strong foes. This Phantasm manifests itself as a large Patina-colored cloud that strikes Saber's foes with blood red blades of ice and green globs of acid. Those struck by the ice lose an effective rank of Strength, Endurance, Agility, and Magic Resistance. The acid can erode the very divinity of the foe's (if they have divinity) while eating away at the foe's life force.
