Fate/Zombie Apocalypse

REJOICE

Temporary picture, completely unrelated to the quest.

Rules:
  • Standard SV rules will be present.
  • We will be using the standard voting rules
  • You are the ones who decide what your character will do, you control the MCs actions, but you will also have to deal with the consequences.
  • Despite the fact that the character is not a clean slate I will not veto an OOC vote, but if you stay true to the personality of the character you will be rewarded.
  • FSN is not a very forgiving setting, no one has plot armor and everyone can die, including you.
  • Spoiler alert, obviously.
  • If/when you die you will be able to redo the choices that lead to your death, there is no limit to how many times you can die and go back. But the good endings will become harder and harder to achieve for every time you die...
  • Make the right choices and you will be rewarded, make the wrong choices and the bad ends grow closer. You will always have the knowledge to make the right choice, you just need to use it properly.
  • Dice rolls will only be used for actions that require luck and some NPCs actions. Generally dice will not be used in combat.
  • Write ins are always an option except when explicitly stated otherwise. Write-ins are your greatest weapon, be creative.
  • Be nice to each other, discussions are arguments are fine, but try not to insult or hurt other questers.
  • Have fun, this one is non-negotiable.
Few things you should know
  • This is my first quest.
  • I am not a native english speaker, expect some grammer errors. If I do make mistakes feel free to correct me.
  • I am always willing go accept new ideas and criticism, feel free to PM me if you have any ideas/criticism you want to share
  • This is not a linear quest, there are many goals you can choose to pursue and many ways to accomplish them. There is no clear plot you have to follow so do what you think is right.
  • Have fun, I think it's important enough to say twice

  • You know of 3 places in Fuyuki that seems to be the center of the zombie outbreak. 2 Of them are in Miyama and 1 of them is the park in Shinto. But is there anything that connects these places?

Notes are exactly like notes in the real world: important things you write somewhere in order to remember them later.

When I see something that I want you to pay attention to I will write it in the notes. But remember that sometimes there are important things that I will not point at and yell "this is important".

In those cases you can write your own notes, simply add the following line to your vote:
[] Note: "Hydras have a weakness to having all of their heads blown off at the same time" or whatever you want to write.

Vote for it and I will write it down in the front page where you will always be able to reread it, cool right?
There are several factions that are fighting for control over the city.

As one of the participents in the holy grail war you are a person of some importance. Every faction would love to have you on their side, but helping one faction might cause their rivals to dislike you.

Faction template:
Faction name
Base: The primary base of operation for the faction
Each faction might have several secondary bases
Leader:
The leader of the faction
Affiliated:
Notable individuals who are part of/allied themselves with the faction
Relations:
Relationships with other Factions and people
Available support:
When you reach the part when the JSDF is willing to give you fighter jets or the magus association is willing to give you their death ray, these resources will be listed here.

Note: the MA might not actually have a death ray.

Goals

  • Survive (no reward, beside being alive)
Find out what happened (2 upgrade points)
Unleash the holy grail (3 upgrade points)

  • Find Gilgamesh (1 upgrade point)
Find the origin of the dead and destroy it if it's a dead apostle (1 upgrade point)
Spend some time to enjoy the suffering the zombie infestation causes (1 upgrade point)
Find detailed data about 3 factions: 2/3 completed (1 upgrade point)
Find a chef on the level of Koushuuensaikan Taiza's chef and make him make you a mapo tofu(reward: high-quality mapo tofu, 2 upgrade point)

    Completed Goals:
Get to your church and alert the Executors about the situation (1 upgrade point)
Get mapo tofu (reward: mapo tofu)

Goals, important things you want to do.
Goals are important because completing them is vital to achieving a good end.

When you achieve a goal you will always earn something, usually it will be upgrade points which you can use to improve the Main Character, but the reward can also be other stuff.

So the requird question is "How do I get goals?" And there are 2 answers for that.
- Sometimes I will give you goals, things that absolutly require your attention and your effort will be goals given by me.
- You can give yourself a goal, if it is IC for your character to want to achieve this goal than I will accept it and reward you when you finish it!
This is a very important mechanic of this quest, make your own goals and strive to achieve them.

Another important point, you can also discard a goal if you no longer want to work towards doing it. A good example will be Saber and the destruction of the holy grail in the Fate/Stay night visual novel.

If you choose to discard a goal for a good IC reason you will get some of the upgrade points that you would have gotten if you managed to complete the goal. But you will get them only if you have a good IC reason to discard the goal.

Goal voting template:
[] Add/Discard Goal: Write goal here
-[] Reasoning: Write here why it makes sense for your character to want to complete/discard the goal.

    Speed: A single second

    Lance of impurities (10 points):
A long ranged piercing attack, similar to shadow beam but much stronger. Comparable to a noble phantasm.
    Cost: Generates 150 Corruption
    Speed: Around 10 seconds

Battle mechanics:
Sometimes diplomacy fails, sometimes the enemy can't be reasoned with, sometimes you just want to hit people (you brute!).

Battles are similar to normal actions, except for few things.
  • The time frame is usually much smaller, a normal action can take minutes or hours and can be quite broad, in battle the actions should be much more specific.
  • There is a higher chance of things going wrong. Why? Because someone is actively working against you. Just take that into account.
  • Normal actions cost you nothing (but take time) but in battle you will frequently use another set of actions that cost resources (Mana and Corruption). Taking these resources into account is vital to forming a good strategy.

So, the template for Battle actions is:

[] Actions
-[] Write in
[] Sustained Abilities
-[] Write in
[] Activated Abilities
-[] Write in

Actions - Everything your character does. Can be things like "Fire 4 shadow bolts on the dead apostles" and broader tactics like "Fight defensively, try to draw him into the bridge".
Note: You can also choose to run away. "combat mode" does not mean that you must fight until your enemy or you is dead.

Sustained Abilities - Abilities which require constant const of mana to keep some kind of effect going. Most physical enhancements will be in this category.

Activated Abilities - Abilities that require Mana or Corruption, these kinds of abilities can turn the tide of battle, but due to their cost there is a limit to how many time they can be used.
You can use an ability more than once "4x shadow bolt" or "use prana blast as many times as required" are both valid votes. If number of uses has not been specified the ability will only be used once.

Always be aware of the time it takes you to perform an action, starting a ten-count spell while someone is holding a gun to your head is not a good idea (unless your are bulletproof, which might sometimes be the case).

Magical Resources: mana and corruption are both used for your activated and sustained abilities. As time passes you will regain Mana and your corruption levels will decrease naturally.
It is possible to go beyond your limits with both mana and corruption, but doing such thing will have negative influence upon your body (Using too much mana, for example, will start causing you injuries.

Hot, that's the first thing you feel when you wake up. It's hot and you are in pain.

You groan and push the ground beneath you to rise, at the same time looking around to get a hold of the situation.

It's hell. There are fires everywhere, collapsed buildings and flipped cars. The pain in your head increases as you take in everything around you.

You groan and wobble as another wave of pain assaults you, starting from your left arm and spreading over the rest of your body. As you take a step to steady yourself you hear the sound of splashing water.

You look down at the puddle you just stepped in and see...

[] A young girl with bright green eyes and blonde hair.
Goals:
  • Find and protect Shirou
  • Get the grail and wish to save your kingdom

[] A lean man with red eyes and blue hair.
Goals:
  • Have fun, not many people get a second chance of living.
  • Find someone strong to fight
  • Punch Archer in the fact

[] A tall man with white hair and grey eyes that looks like they have seen too much...
Goals:
  • Find and protect Rin
  • Kill Shirou Emiya (the idiot one)
  • Destroy the grail
  • Purge the source of the zombie infestation

[] A sharp looking man with long purple hair wearing a kimono
Goals:
  • Finish your duel with Saber
  • These walking dead are unsightly - find their source and eliminate it
  • Have a pleasant conversation with an interesting individual

[] You can't see anything! You are wearing a blindfold!
Goals:
  • Survive
  • Find and protect Sakura
  • Find a way for Sakura to be safe and happy
  • Run away with Sakura OR destroy the zombie infestation and every other threat that might harm her.

[] A teenager with orange hair and eyes
Goals:
  • Save as many people as you can
  • Stop the zombie infestation
  • Make sure that the right person gets the holy grail

[] A twin-tailed girl with radiant blue eyes
Goals:
  • Find out more about the corruption and control/remove it
  • This is your land, destroy the zombie infestation
  • Win the holy grail war

[] A tall man wearing priests robes
Goals:
  • Enjoy the suffering the zombie infestation causes, but destroy the one who controls it (if anyone controls it)
  • Unleash the holy grail
  • Find Gilgamesh

[] A teenager with blue hair and scared expression
Goals:
  • Survive
  • Win the holy grail war
  • Show everyone that you are a real magus
  • Become Tohsaka's boyfriend

Sorry, but no write-ins on this one.

QM/N:

Welcome to Fate/Zombie Apocalypse, a holy grail war that went horribly wrong!

You can now vote on the MC, your choice is permanent (obviously) so think hard on who you want to play.

The "Goals" are your starting primary goals, I will explain later about primry and secondary goals but these are things that might influence your actions for the entire quest (Although you will be able to change/abandon some of your goals later).

The "Difficulty" is the general difficulty of the quest, things such as which enemies you fight and how hard it would be to defeat them is what this difficulty represents. Archer, Shirou, Rider and Kirei have higher difficulties not because they are weak but because their goals will likely lead them to facing strong oponents

[X] You can't see anything! You are wearing a blindfold!

Rider doesn't get enough love. Assassin is fine too, since that seems to be winning right now. I just hope this doesn't turn into another Shiro Quest, because god knows we have enough of those already.

you know, normally I would go either with shirou or archer but...
[X] A sharp looking man with long purple hair wearing a kimono
It is assasin time

[X] A teenager with blue hair and scared expression
Why do you hate me?

Yeah, Rider does not gain enough love.
If you don't like Shirou quests maybe choose Archer?

Totally different.

Somehow I knew that Assassin would be popular, but be aware that it won't be an easy quest.
Where are all those Lancer voters I heard about? At least some of them should have been here by now...

[X] A tall man wearing priests robes

I like finding Gil as a win condition.

Also, jerk though he may be, this is totally his time to shine. I mean, killing the undead is totally the whole point of black keys and he carries billions of those damn things around.
