Fate Grand Elysium (A Fate grand order X Disco Elysium Quest)

Currently Calculus has the lead with Inland empire in second and bloodline in third.

So, assuming Ophelia summons Surtr/Sigurd that gives us mash as a tank, Sigurd as DPS, and Cu as Caster support. Calculus gives us potential Moriarty as ranged, but I feel we would be better off having Finesse as our second option for the potential scout or ambusher.

[X] Rely on your Bloodline (Not a check but plays into Author bias/headcanon for Ritsuka's ancestry.)

[X] Rely on your Half-Light (easy check DC 8, Summons a servant with supernaturally strong instincts or abilities for avoiding danger)

[X] If you heard correctly Mash was raised by Chaldea, I wonder what that is about. (Unlocked by the the reaction speed check)

[X] Go for a fist bump, it'd be funny.

[X] ....Try for some Fellowship? (Challenging check DC 13, Summon a Servant who knows what your going through.)

So it looks like, should the check succeed we will be getting a servant with Mathematical skills. And someone who I believe Ritsuka is descended from.

Meanwhile Ophelia, I will not confirm whether or not I'll be using Sigurd as Surtr's vessel but he IS in the pool. that pool consisting of Servants who can cause apocalypses (the end of the world, either as we know it or just in general) and Servants who use Runes and Swords. Admittedly the Pool of servants that fit that criteria is...small. and I don't think there are many other sabers who are as associated with fire as he is, so the fire connection is out. But i definitely have one other Servant in mind for Ophelia to have as a partner.

The other characters were all Easier for me to figure out servant wise.

Kadoc: Would have Mephistopheles, courtesy of me loving the Kadoc and Caster series by Orojuice.

Samuel: Would've summoned Paraclesus, Like calls to like, and one affable but ruthless with a goal Magus will naturally summon another one.

Lucas: Would get Lancer Vlad (Particularly the way he looks in the EXTRA incarnation in fgo) OR alternatively Rider Martha. This is both because of his religion and the fact that he is the oldest brother in his family.

Richard: Helena Blavatsky, as they are both explorers, one by inheritance and the other by trade.

Howard: Beowulf, The man, the myth. the Legend, Beowulf is everything he wants to be.

Now I'll be doing the dialogue write ins, after that I'll do that rolls.

Should probably change it to runes and bladed weapons to open up the options easier. Off the top of my head this adds Quetzalcoatl, Cu, Scathatch.

Arguably you could work a sort of Surtr in gawains body thing, with what you have currently, and ChaCha from gudaguda good both wields a sword, has flame abilities, and her noble phantasm is creating a hell scape to manifest the spirits of dead to attack her enemies in skeletal form, so she sort of checks everything, and I think Oda nobunaga avenger would count, and possibly merlin if you count his raw magic in the form of a blade as a sword and his knowledge of runes, as well as his occupation of the tower thingy as tying him to the apocalypse.

Right, I'll have her number be mentioned after Ritsuka is Reinstated. As for the bad grammar...part of it could be me ripping the cutscene text from a video I found on YouTube so there would be old translation errors. But you do have a point, I should minimize as much bad grammar as I can. Maybe find an editor willing to work with me so I can better refine these posts.

You still looking for an editor? What would that look like?

If I'm remembering correctly Ushiwakamaru is Ritsuka's ancestor in Canon F/GO.

What are the dialogue write ins?

Also are only canon servants in the summon pool? Or will there be OCs?

Took awhile because I was grinding the Event, But I finished the Write ins for the dialogue Options you selected.

Actually you do have a point there, get rid of the saber class constriction and focus on the using swords, runes, flames, and Apocalypse aspects. This does Open up the Summoning Pool for Ophelia, and could lead into some interesting options and dynamics depending on who was summoned and how Surtr influenced them.

You still looking for an editor? What would that look like?
It wasn't really an active search, more like something on the to-do list. But yeah, I am. An Editor would well, help me iron out the kinks in my posts, Half Light Excluded I mean. Stuff like grammar correction, punctuation assessment, and helping me make my posts more readable.

Optionally you can also help me out with the creative processes that goes on behind the scene, help me get the brain juices flowing for the story so I don't lose interest, or worse have others lose interest.

If I'm remembering correctly Ushiwakamaru is Ritsuka's ancestor in Canon F/GO.
Oh shit really? I did not know that. Already adding her to his mom's side of his family tree. This doesn't mean I won't go ahead with what I have in mind for the rely on your bloodline option since Ushi is a lot easier to summon than the guy I've got in my head.

What are the dialogue write ins?
You know those lined off areas where I place the Bolded Dialogue, well if your up to date you can influence the dialogue Options of Ritsuka Fujimaru, so basically I hand over a select set of options, each one I have confidence in writing out, and each one altering Ritsuka's personality just a tiny bit more to the liking of the voters. I generally leave what happens between the time of the dialogue and the next scene vague so I can easily edit the selected dialogue path into the story.

Also are only canon servants in the summon pool? Or will there be OCs?
Only Cannon servants in the summon pool. But I might write "What if" Scenarios with Servants of my own creation. Although those servants are just characters from media I like. At least for now.

Who knows, maybe as I continue writing I might get bold enough to make OC servants purely out of my mind, or at least include the "What If" Servants Into the story as temporary allies.

I definitely have an OC counter guardian in mind for the Town of Salem Singularity.

Alright I'm not the best with F/GO lore case in point:

Ushiwakamaru being Ritsuka's ancestor only shows up in a Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia Anime supplementary material a single time so no one is actually sure if it is canon to F/GO as a whole or only to that Anime's version of Ritsuka or only to the supplementary material of that Anime which has not been brought up since.

So if you want spell checks or story discussion/inspiration sure I can help, but if you want F/GO lore unless you are looking for chunks of obscure Fate lore that almost nobody thinks about or uses in their fics like "tethers" you'll be better served by someone who is more of a part of the Fate fandom.

You're writing Ritsuka better that the actual authors of F/GO then.

That is a fair distance away from the start. If/when you get to it you should have a good handle on how much of the Servant roster you want to be Canon characters and how much your OCs.

Okay good to know, I haven't seen the FGO anime, or read the manga stuff (other than the exposure I get from scrolling the Grand Order Subreddit) so other than well, getting a little bit Disco, things will probably play out very accurately to the game.

Also don't worry about the FGO Lore thing, I'll be handling that myself. which should be easy so long as I don't branch out into the greater FATE franchise too much. I'll just be happy to have someone who can help me hammer out my Posts.

Thanks, but that's real easy to do as quests need a character to follow not a self insert.

That's my hope anyways.

Also, I finally got Ophelia's potential servants locked down to a good pool, so for now I'll be doing the dice roll for our servant. If we succeed, we'll be getting the most mathematic intelligent servant in the summoning pool.

DC to Hit: 10

DC to Fail Forward: 2 (the minimum).

7 + 6 = 13, SUCCESS!
MedievalParadox threw 2 6-faced dice. Total: 7

Than yeah sure. PM me anything you want me to go over before it is posted here. Do you want me to go back and spell check the previous posts as well?

I'll definitely be sure to do that, and uh you don't have to do that, personally I'd rather get started on working on the next post right away. But you can if you'd like. Just be sure to PM me the errors I've made, be it coloration errors, or grammar and the like.

Singularity F: Flowing Mana, Building Skills
The chant, wasn't that hard to do, but it was very wordy. So something genuinely magical. probably.

Encyclopedia (Medium: Success): I can confirm that the Chant has been successfully stored within a newly opened space in our mental library, we've got it memorized.

Ritsuka: Alright good to know we have that on lock.

You look at Ophelia and then the Circle.

Ritsuka: "Okay...So how do I actually use the Circle?"

Ophelia: "Usually you have to send a pulse of Mana through it, but for you just breaking 3 Saint quartz near the circle should supply enough mana to power it up enough for a summon."

Ritsuka: "Breaking it?"

Ophelia: "It's one of the only ways to release the mana stored inside of it, the only other ways to release it are either using it as an actual battery or uhm...Biting into it to restore your energies back to peak. Breaking one will also allow Servants to reform incase their spirit origin has been beaten down to non-combative levels and you lack the Command Seals to restore them all."

Ritsuka: "Ah. Am I Authorized to use the whole bag?"

Ophelia: "Yes. I'll be providing my own mana for my summon."

With a nod you empty the bag on the ground, with Six Saint Quartz falling out on the ground.

Electro Chemistry: It's a shame that you have to break these to use them, they REALLY appeal to the part of the brain that likes collecting shiny stuff.

Conceptualization: Don't worry, we can gaze at all the rainbow mana rocks we want as soon as we get back to Chaldea.

Volition: You two agree on the strangest things.

Encyclopedia: they were both behind our rampant dice hoarding back in high school remember?

Conceptualization (Medium: Success): Ooh! Idea, Sant Quartz Dice, used for In-universe miracles!

Electro Chemistry: I want that!

Volition (Medium: Success): Focus!

Ritsuka: "Alright, here goes nothing."

You crush the Saint quartz with your foot.

Physical Instrument (Easy: Success): The quartz gives way easily, easier than you expected.

And you begin to chant.

Ritsuka: "Heed my Words. My Will creates your body, and your Sword creates our Destiny. If you heed the Grail's call and obey my will and reason, then Answer my Summoning!"

As you began to chant, orbs of light came up from the Shield used at the base of the summoning circle, Spinning around until they create 3 rings of light. And then the Three rings collapses into the middle, creating a Pillar of Light.

Perception (Medium: Success): The first thing that reveals itself is the The two cards, golden and in coloration, each with a symbol of different person on them. For one, it's an Archer. For another it's a Knight.

Reaction Speed (medium: Success): The knight on the card looks like the Knight Ophelia has summoned. Weird.

The first card, the one with the Archer on in begins to spin, until one of it's sides transforms into an image of..An old man in front of a Spider web. It floats towards you and you hear a voice begin to speak, different from all the others nearby.

???: "Hahahaha! You must be a peculiar master to summon me! My Class is Archer, and For now that's all you'll be getting from me. But i am strong, that much I can promise you."

Perception: (Hard: Success): He sounds...exactly as old as he looks. Not to mention to very obvious British accent.

Encyclopedia (Hard: Success): I don't have any records of our dad's side of the family being British, so unless he's from a side of the family Dad doesn't know about or if he's just THAT old, it's likely that he's the one summoned by us also focusing on our math skills.

Logic (Challenging: Success): I wonder if we can piece together who he is without him directly telling us.

Ritsuka: Well I'll take that challenge.

You give a look over your archer before offering a hand to the old man.

Ritsuka: "Nice to meet you archer, my Name is Ritsuka Fujimaru. There's a uh, whole lot to explain here but I don't think I can do it justice. Regardless I and the others would appreciate your help."

He would shake it, and you feel the Contract occur. Yet there doesn't seem to be any extra Command Spells, it seems like Chaldea's variant of the contract doesn't bypass the 'Three Command Spells Per Person' rule you've been told about.

Endurance: His grip is similar to mash. He's strong, stronger than you are.

Pain Threshold (Medium: Success): The pain of the contract is wearing off, Romani must've gotten the generators working as your one mana Circuit must be...less stressed now, however that works.

After that, the Knight Card would start to glow and spin. Revealing...A Man who shares a lot of similarities with you and your father...Well Okay the only thing he has reminiscent of your father is the telltale patch of white hair sprouting up from the center of his head. Still he absolutely resembles you, at least in terms of Facial features. And just like the last time, as his appearance appears on the card, he suddenly appears from the Circle.

???: "Woah woah woah! is everything Alright here?! This feels like an Emergency Summon!"

You look around the ruined cityscape, everything on fire, or in ruins or both at the same time. You then look back at the Servant who is most likely your ancestor.

Ritsuka: "It kind of is, There is a lot going on and I'm not sure if I could explain it properly. My Name is Ritsuka Fujimaru and I summoned you and Archer. Would you be willing to lend your aid?"

As you stick out an arm to shake, he would look you in the eyes for a good long while before smiling to himself certain of his choice.

Inland Empire (Medium: Success): If eyes are the windows to the soul then he must've done some deep soul searching, and clearly liked what he found.

Empathy (Easy: Success): He is giving you his trust, don't waste it.

He shakes your hand, once again establishing another contract.

???: "Alright. You seem like a cool guy, and I'm not just saying that because we share a face. My True name is Charlemange, of the Saber class! There are a few more names for me out there but I appreciate you using this one. Those legends...no, I'll show you the truest Extent of my Heroism!"

Encyclopedia (medium: Success): Charlemagne? That's the leader of the Twelve paladins you discovered while looking up Paladin names for your Curse Of Strahd Campaign.

Ritsuka: Do we know anything about him other than that?

Encyclopedia: No. We were just looking up names, Conceptualization didn't want you take more than that from them.

Conceptualization: Well I didn't realize that we'd actually meet the guy!

Encyclopedia: That was not an accusation, but a statement.

Reaction Speed (Medium: Success): You notice the cards of the summoned servants gravitating towards your Command Seals.

As they touch your hand, it dissolves into golden dust. and you feel....Weird.

Conceptualization (Heroic: Success): I think this is beyond the purview of any of us. Inland. Can we get a second Alone?

Inland Empire: I see, it's time to pull out some of the prototypes.

Volition: Are you sure that's a good idea? More of us while we're already in Emergency mode?

Conceptualization: Don't worry, we have accounted for that.

You feel...something change.

Due to the strain of the contract lessening thanks to Romani's efforts with Chaldea's main generator you have Unlocked The ability to use your 1 Mana Circuit, and officially unlocked the Magecraft section of the Statline. As well as Access to the Mystic Code effects and spells.

Magecraft encompasses 6 skills, 4 "Basic" skills Ritsuka would need to have in order to be a Master of Chaldea each one attuned to a specific stat. And 2 "Learned" skills Ritsuka has the opportunity to learn later.

The four Basic skills are:

Army of Shadows: This Skill is your equivalent of Spiritual Evocation all about summoning Shadow Servants via Chaldea's own summoning methods and simply handling Summons in general.

Internal Circuitry: A score of how well you can use your Mana Circuit, either as a Conduit between your Servants and Chaldea's generator or as a way to utilize your own small pool of mana.

Astral Self: This is the Skill of adjusting and adapting to outside forces dragging your mind off for one reason or another, or just out of body experiences in general.

Artifice: This is the Skill covering the use and comprehension of Mystic Codes.

Now, as Ritsuka is new to Magecraft it will have to be Shaped by one of his skills, affecting his view and philosophy about it. On a mechanical level this will also affect the Magecraft Skillcap, as it'll be half of the chosen Skill's current level. Rounded down if it's a decimal.
Choose a Skill to Shape your Magecraft:
[] Interfacing (Magecraft is a tool, a fascinating and strange one, but a tool Nonetheless.)
[] Inland Empire (Magecraft is a new way of forcing your will onto the world, like your imagination but more Potent than anything your mind could think of.)
[] Conceptualization (Magecraft is a new way to express yourself, a new Art to feed into your imagination and Imagination to feed into your art.)
[] Write in (Write down what you think the Shaping Skill is, and how it will change how Ritsuka views Magecraft.)

Wait...did we get motherfucking gilgamesh for our archer!
Nah, I just used Archer's specific Summoning line. for you to summon Gilgamesh as an Archer...I don't think he'll constrain himself to one skill he needs an actual catalyst or a VERY lucky roll.

Or alternatively meet him in a Singularity to get a bonus to summoning him.

@MedievalParadox Could we use Electro Chemistry as a Shaping Skill with the Thought: Magecraft is the Pen with which you will Write you own Life as an Adventure?

A little conflicted on this, on one hand writing the adventure seems more like a Conceptualization thing but on the other hand with Electrochemistry being so low, Adventure could be the excitement it desires. I'll allow it, but I want a bit more clarification on what Adventures you want to go on.

[X] Interfacing (Magecraft is a tool, a fascinating and strange one, but a tool Nonetheless.)

[X] Drama (Magecraft is just another great performance. A grand lie with which you convince the world the miraculous can and will happen because you will it.)

[X] Finesse (Magecraft is the cool new thing in your life that everything else revolves around.)

Neat. excellent update. Actually bought Disco Elysium recently and have been having fun with it.

Interfacing will do, but Drama or Finesse will let us get some real show stopper magic.
