To say that the Grand conjunction was unexpected would be a gross understatement. Such an event was unprecedented – travel between universes had been perfected, and naturally existing gateways between worlds had already been discovered, but for so many gateways to be opened simultaneously, all leading to the same destination? Nothing of that scope had ever occurred to our knowledge, barring one example that was only distantly related to our own situation.

The Assault by the Sekhmet was ultimately of minor concern, but its aftermath proved to possess far greater consequences than expected. We are now faced with a massive number of beings who have no way to return to their homes. Perhaps we will be able to unravel this mystery, but until then, they will be our problem to deal with.

….Oh well. Never a dull moment in this little universe of ours.

Welcome to Far From Home. This story is a side project to my PA SI, Conquest In The Name Of Advnacement (which needs a better title). It takes place after Arc 7 of my story, where a massive amount of portals leading to other universes opened up, stranding a huge number of beings from various species inside our Commander's hub universe.

This sidestory RP was created due to interest from my readers, but is open to everyone.

Now for some notes:

  • You are permitted to use original characters and settings. I will needle you a bit for details on the setting in your character sheet, though.
  • This is mostly a for fun RP. Combat concerns are not very high. I have other RPs set in the same shared universe that will be more combat heavy, but this one is more focused on dealing with multiple people being separated from their homes and families and stuck on a truly foreign world, with many species of sapient beings they didn't even know existed.
  • Please refrain from making overpowered characters. Even if this is a combat-light RP, I don't want anyone who is strong enough to overpower everyone else – it makes for a boring game. I made a point of crafting an enemy tailor-made to give my Commander SI a challenge every time to fights them, and he has an unlimited army of killbots that can be customized to solve any problem.
  • You can also play as people that were already living in the Hub universe. The list of races for that 'ethnicity' are as follows:
  • Human
  • Sectoid (XCOM Enemy Unknwon)
  • Viper (XCOM 2)
  • Muton (XCOM Enemy Unknown)
  • Ethereal (The Bureau: XCOM Declassified)
  • Tenno (warframe)
  • Grineer (Warframe)
  • Corpus (also Warframe)
  • Infested (also also warframe)
  • Origin System Colonist (also also also warframe, please be more specific – are they Ostron, Solaris, or a different group)
  • Orokin (also from warframe, gag wore itself out)
  • Sentient (warframe)
  • Progenitor (Civilization: Beyond Earth)
  • Arnor/Dreadlord (Galacitc Civilizations)
  • Drengin (Galactic Civilizations)
  • Korx (Gal Civ (abbreviation of Galactic Civilizations))
  • Iconians (Gal Civ)
  • Drath (Gal Civ)
  • Thalans (Gal Civ)
  • Altarian (Gal Civ)
  • Arcean (Gal Civ)
  • Yor (Gal Civ)
  • Torians (Gal Civ)
  • Krynn (Gal Civ)
  • Pretty much every major power from Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy (Chaos, the Tyranids, the Vampire Counts/Coast, Chaos Dwarves, Heretic Astartes, Drukhari, and the Orkz are mostly excluded from this, as are the skaven)
  • Pretty much every major race from Halo (the forerunners are included here, the Flood are not)
  • Regarding the other RPs I mentioned: this is essentially a 'bank' for characters in my other RPs, so when I get to writing those, you can use characters from this RP in other ones I have planned (Fractured Fantasy, Operation Outbreak) as well as port them over here once those RPs have concluded if you want to have more fun with them.
  • THIS RP IS ALWAYS ACCEPTING NEW PLAYERS!
  • This RP will be hosted on both Spacebattles and Sufficient Velocity. I will mostly treat them as covering different areas of the Hub, since coordinating between the two sites can be a hassle, but if you want to interact with a player on the other site, use discord to arrange the events.
Now, onto the Character Sheets

Other notes:

  • As mentioned, using Self Inserts is permitted. Jumpchains are more iffy, though.
  • The number of playable races that exist on the Hub will increase as I progress the main story.
  • If you want to have your character show up with friends, they also need sheets. But you can skip the music part for those characters.
  • Arcs will be initiated and concluded via GM PC posts.
  • If you want to back out from the story, please write a post concluding your character's involvement in this story in some manner (this doesn't have to kill them, just do something that gives them an excuse to not show up anymore. And please note that you are either finished with involvement in this story or are taking a break in that post).
  • While this story is being hosted on both SB and SV, you only need to post on one forum.
  • More portals will open in the future, for those of you wondering how new characters can still show up after the main portal issue is solved.
Now, let me leave you with an example character post:

Name: Amril Duzumid

Universe of Origin (can be an original creation): Hub native, previously from the Civilization: Beyond Earth universe/XCOM universe (two are naturally merged together)

Age: 17

Gender: (can be non-standard, e.g. hermaphrodite, but only if the species in question has that gender naturally. Non-binary and transgender are also options): Male

Organization They Belong To: Order of the Archivists (made up group) – a group dedicated to documenting the events within the Infernum Federation and ensuring that, even if hidden, the truth is not erased from history.

Appearance: Looks to be a mixture of white and middle eastern, though the specific ethnicities are unknown. Has red hair and eyes that, ever since unlocking his psychic powers, faintly glow at all times. Tends to wear robes when working as an archivist, but otherwise wears a brown shirt and sand colored pants.

Background: Originally hailing from t the city of Mega Primus, Amril and his family arrived in the Hub after the Commander helped save the city from attack by the Micronoid Legions. As the city was verging on a dystopia, they decided to get out while the going was good and find a new home to peacefully settle inside before things went to hell. The few years Amril has spent on the hub have been far nicer than his entire life on Mega Primus, and he is certainly happy to not have to worry about being robbed by criminals at any given time.

Powers/Skillset: Amril possesses psychic talent, but has only recently begun to harness those powers. Beyond that, though, he has impressive journalism skills and a knack for getting to places where there are stories waiting to be discovered.

What they were doing before getting sucked into the portal: N/A – Amril was already living in the Hub.

Battle Theme Song (for fights):

Where you will start: Capital City of Origin, the Capital World of the Hub (still deciding on the name for the city)

Your Opposition
Just to give you guys an idea of what you will be up against when this starts (combat won't be a major part of the RP, but the first portion will be kind of hectic), here are the enemies that will show up at the very beginning:

1. The Faro Plague

A horde of machines gone rogue that ended the world. Most still slumber, never to reawaken, but the one known only as Void has brought several under her heel and taken them with her to invade the hub.

The FARO plague are literally the only enemies here that have any story relevance at all.

2. The Second Extinction

Mutant dinosaurs from an alternate Earth, these creatures have driven humanity to near extinction. With a population now stranded on various parts of the hub, though, they're fine with expanding their diets.

More may appear, but these things are the immediate threats, and things go a lot smoother after the arrival arc ends. So don't worry too much.

Starting Locations and Discord
First off, here are some of the starting locations for the RP:

  • Origin/Central: The capital planet. Flame's tower is located here. Your standard multi-biome Earth-type planet. Has an ocean that is strangely devoid of life (life exists, but biodiversity is low in the seas).
  • Cornucopia: A lush and verdant planet, filled with life. Many creatures there use poisons and other natural weapons to survive.
  • Rigel: Oceanic Planet, home to stuff that messes with physics. Beware of naturally existing portals, gravity fluctuations and general physics ignorance. E = mc hammer
  • Mictēcacihuātl: Planet heavily associated with the afterlife. Ghosts and spirits can be found here, but most just got lost on their way to the afterlife and eventually get picked up. Anger at own risk.
  • Fimbulvinter: Ice Planet, named after the winter that will precede Ragnarok. Somehow has lave fields among the snow. Anyone starting here without insulating clothing is extremely likely to freeze to death.
  • Babbage: Essentially a shield world from Halo. The outer layer is primarily desert, with few large native predators. The obvious dangers are overheating and dehydration.
  • Pele: a volcano planet. Unlike with Fimbulvinter. Note: proximity to the lava is damaging, even if you don't touch it.
  • Ukko: Gas giant. Named after a Finnish Weather God. Starting location would be on the various research platforms meant to harvest the gas.
  • Epidemia: A bizarre world covered in technocyte tissue. Essentially a planet-wide technocyte virus outbreak, with the primary strains being the Carcinex strain and the Immunos strain. The Immuno strain is benign and forms the main inhabitants of the world, the Immunocytes. Note: unless you arrive here with lots of enclosed protective gear, you are liable to being infected within minutes of setting foot on the planet.
  • Original Worlds: whole planets that were pulled into the system due to the portal storm (yes, this actually happens). If you want to have a lot of characters show up, you can use this.

Walter Pollus

Universe of Origin: Earth, and then Star Wars Universe

Age: 65

Gender: Male

Organization: Pollus Trading Company

Appearance
Younger/Older

Biography
Originally a 20 year old on earth who worked in accounting, John Cole was isekeied into the body of a noble family of Loovria in the Juves Sector. After being extremely shocked and sad for a time, he came to see the opportunities present in living in a Star Wars Universe and dedicated himself to self improvement and to help others with what little knowledge he could (especially after realizing he was not force sensitive). During this time, he realized just what his family was involved in, slavery, and vowed to end that practice. To that goal, he knew he needed a quality education and so convinced his parents to let him attend top level schools in the galaxy during which time he got exceptional marks and later attended a military academy specializing in naval warfare though excelling at battlefield command as well.

After returning home, he began to use his families wealth to invest heavily in a variety of above board projects around the galaxy. He also began building a large fleet with top notch vessels and crewman to build a merchant fleet and trading house. Specializing in diplomacy and negotiation, he often built his wealth on building contacts with underdeveloped or enslaved planets and would industrialize them and equip them with state of the art defenses to both integrate them into the galactic economy and protect them from the very slavers his family built its wealth on, gaining many exotic luxury goods along the way. During this time he also got advanced degrees, in political science, business, and economics which again received top marks for. However, it was during this time that he also discovered a piece of information that deeply helped jog his memory of the star wars universe (of which he only know knowledge about the movies, wookiepedia readings of force groups, and the various tv shows and video games). He found out about the recent Naboo crisis which was affected by the appearance of Obi-wan kenobi. Shocked to realize he was so close to the actual movie franchise, as well as realizing much of his revenue was made in competition to many competitors who would become seperatist shell corporations, he quickly realized he must change tactics to avert galactic suicide.

First, he decided to begin contacting and hiring various force users to protect himself. This proved successful as he was able to make great use of their talents and knowledge. He also began to scour the galaxy for force artifacts, often using his earth knowledge to find ancient planets and systems. Sadly, there were no super weapons or game changing devices in this world but he did find many holocrons and artifacts which he kept in an ever growing library.

Second, He decided then to run for Senate to represent many of the worlds he had helped to protect and prosper. Now however, he realized that much of his influence was gone through the rampant corruption of the Senate. In any way he would try to reform the system, it would instead snap back towards evil. He was deeply frustrated until he remembered that Palpatine controlled the strings. By this time, he had grown much older than his younger more naive self. He had seen many things both good and bad across the known galaxy in his 40 years of life thus far. He realized that indeed, he actually found himself supporting the actual legitimate 'separatists' on more than one occasion. Aliens were being undervalued and hurt. Corruption was rampant. Taxes and regulations made proper economics impossible and the military was extremely week allowing rampant piracy and slavery in the outer rim. Something must be done. And so, when the call came from Count Dooku to join the Separatists, he knew he needed to do so. With that, he began having his merchant fleets equipped with B2 battledroids and began outfitting his large freight vessels with heavy armaments and shields.

During the time of the Clone Wars, Walter Pollus would go one to serve proudly in both the Separatist Senate where he diligently worked to better the lives of many hurting planets, deploy serious defenses to worlds ravaged by piracy and slavery, and he also served in the Confederate military both as a general and naval admiral winning many though much smaller victories. However, by the wars end, his influence in the Separatist cause grew weaker and weaker. As the war progressed, his core groups of moderates were being constantly sidelined by Count Dooku and his Separatist Council made up of the worst offenders of exploitive galactic corporations. Of course, this meant that when Anakin killed the Separatist Council on Mustafar, he and the reformers were long gone fleeing Imperial control. For five years, he and his fleet ran across the galaxy both continuing the search for Force users and lore to deny Palpatine valuable assets as well as to ensure the massive fleets survival, praying for the day when the rebels would arrive on the scene.

However, before that time would come, when on a personal shuttle heading back towards his command ship, a portal would take him away to another galaxy far far away.. A very different galaxy indeed.

Skills: Negotiation, political maneuvering, quick draw (was trained in a military academy as well as privately to shoot extremely well and fast), naval strategy, battlefield strategy, business, economics, diplomacy, research skills, leadership, persuasion, research, analysis, plays piano

What he was doing before being sucked into the portal: Traveling with some luggage and personal equipment back from a week long meeting with a particular trading world about supplies negotiations

Equipment: Personal clothes, a couple custom high end assassin level blaster pistols and a high quality hunting blaster rifle, some custom armor (cortosis weave), a custom phone like device which has scanning functions and text, information, etc., a large wristband computer with many business information stored (including his ship schematics, battle plans, history of all his battles, legislation history, personal journals), about a hundred thousand galactic credits for personal use, a speeder, R4-M27 astromech droid (contains plans and designs for much of the separatist fleet, droids, machinery, weapons, etc.), personal starship.

Personality Traits: Tireless (often works with little sleep), well-educated, quick reflexes, adaptable, fast learner, kind, patient, a rebel, can be blunt.

Factions Within The Hub
Here's a list of major groups within the Hub. Some have little to no requirements for joining, others are more stringent.

From Spore:

Order of the Flaming Heart: A group of knights hailing from a volcanic world, they have sworn an oath to protect the weak and the innocent from those who would exploit and harm them. Also, most of them are space dragons. Yeah. Based on the Fortress of Valor on Pele, which is within sight of Mt. Worldshaker.*

From Civilization: Beyond Earth/XCOM

Extraterrestrial Combat Unit: An elite unit formed in the latter half of the twentieth century to defend Earth from alien invasions, they've since expanded to protect mankind and her non-human allies from all other invaders. XCOM uses Avenger super heavy airborne carriers as field bases, with their primary recruiting center in the Hub being one such craft, known as the Pioneer.

American Reclamation Corporation: One of several major corporations that rose to prominence following the Great Mistake, the ARC has decided to use the Commander's intrusion into their universe to expand their organization across the multiverse. Their local branch is headed by Evan Sampson at the ARC Tower in the Hub's capital city, Providence.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

From Warframe:

The Tenno: An order of warriors dedicated to protecting the innocent, with the major conflicts of the Origin System effectively completed, they have since decided to travel across the multiverse, fighting for the rights of all. While initially restricted to those who survived the Zahriman Ten Zero incidnet, due to increased Void activity and the Man in the Wall getting bored, they have recently experienced an increase in their ranks and begun seeking out void afflicted children to join their numbers. Note: actually joining the group requires GM approval, and will have certain restrictions. Most who are Tenno should be children.

Neo-Corpus: Following his return to normal space, Parvos Granum has begun restructuring the organization he founded, and allowed for advancement to be somewhat easier to achieve. The Neo-Corpus are aligned with the ARC and hold several commercial interests across the Hub. Their primary recruiting center is the Temple of Charity on Fimbulvinter.*

The Quills: A mystical order that studies the Orokin Void, they have expanded their group to the HUb due to the Man in the Wall's increased interest in the system. Those who wish to assist them must seek out their enclave within the Void's Precipice, a tower located on the outskirts of Providence.

Solaris United: A hybrid between labor union and resistance movement, Solaris United has joined forces with the Infernum Federation to help others like them across the multiverse. Led by a Solaris codenamed Spark, they are based on manufacturing Deck 31 on Fimbulvinter.

Vox Solaris: The secretive leader of Solaris United, Vox Solaris is actually a collective identity, with many willing to hold the title of Vox. Their representative, Shrike, is found in the admin office of Deck 31. Note: Spark and Shrike are both members of Vox Solaris - Spark is the overall leader of the forces in the Hub, Shrike simly helps manage members and gives out offerings as payment for assisting Vox Solaris.

The Immunocytes: a group of rogue infested, the immunocytes are the rulers of Epidemia. Based within the Hematic Palace on the outskirts of the Aminiotic Marshlands, the work to contain the more malevolent strains of their kin. They are lead by Progenos.*

Steel Meridian: A grineer resistance group dedicated to protecting the weak and the innocent, the Steel Meridian have decided to expand their goals to encompass the multiverse, now that their primary enemies are effectively defanged. Their base within the hub, Iron Heath, is located in the Tona Jungle of Cornucopia. Their leader is Grun Kah'dra.

Arbiters of Hexis: A group dedicated to encouraging and supporting the Tenno, they are also willing to assist others in the name of returning this disordered multiverse to harmony. They are based within the Halls of Judgement within Providence.

Cephalon Suda: The uploaded consciousness of an Orokin Archimedian, Suda and her allies wish to unravel the secrets of the universe and document their findings. Suda centers her research efforts at the Cyan Datalink atop the Magnos Plateau on Babbage. Note: portions of the plateau are made of floatstone, creating several floating islands. Maneuvering is not easy.

Perrin Sequence: A sub-group of the Neo-Corpus led by Ergo Glast. The group is still aligned with Granum's main corpus body, but wish to maintain their independence. Their local leader, Kota Serro, monitors their quarterly reports from Empyrean Ledger, found in the Boreas Ice Sheet on Fimbulvinter.

Red Veil: An extremist resistance group, the Red Veil believe in purging away corruption to allow for new and better groups to rise from the ashes. The Red Veil have noticeably toned down their violence, but are still rather aggressive at times. While their supreme authority is holy speaker Palladino, their local leader is Asteria, who leads them from the Charcoal Forest on Pele.

New Loka: Originally focused on the preservation of the pure life forms from Earth, New Loka has since moved on to preserving all life. They are currently led by Nut (pronounced Newt) from the Endymion Valley on Cornucopia.

The Sanctuary: Lead by Cephalon Simaris, the Sanctuary focuses on the preservation of species by synthesizing specimens of value. Before you ask, yes, this kills them. Simaris bases forces within relays, space stations orbiting the various worlds of the Hub. Most of the warframe factions also have representatives on the hub.

The Conclave: A martial organization lead by Teshin Dax, the Conclave focuses on training others to defeat their greatest enemies - themselves. Teshin has various different representatives aboard the relays to help accept new members, but be warned - only through success in the arena will one earn his respect.

Orokin Remnants: The Orokin were a major power within the Origin System, ruling an empire that lasted millennia, but did so primarily through unimaginable oppression. Their abuse of their servants eventually caused the greatest of said servants, the Tenno, to decapitate the empire, allowing the Grineer to overwhelm the rest and become the new rulers of the system. Some of the Golden Lords survived, however, but were humbled. Now, their remnants seek to rebuild, but without repeating the mistakes of their forebearers. Seek out Executor Aurus in the Golden Spire of Providence if you desire to acquire their aid.*

Court of Chernobog: The Sentients, also know as the Tau, were machines created by the Orokin to turn the Tau system into a paradise for the Golden Lords to colonize. When the Sentients realized that the Orokin would ruin these worlds, the Old War began. Having not gotten over how thoroughly the Federation defeated them, most Sentients tend to have an ego and avoid interacting with others in the hub. Some, however, instead allow the past to fade away and strive toward the future. Among them is the one known as Chernobog, a sort of noble among his kind. Like many of his kind who have taken their defeat in stride, Chernobog tends to travel around explored universes, terraforming lifeless worlds so that they can be settled by others. Earning his favor will allow you to partake in these sculpting sessions, as he calls them….and impressing him enough may earn you a portion of the new creations as your peerage. To begin earning his approval, seek out Chernobog in Koschei Cavern, under Mt. Naberus on Mictēcacihuātl.

Note: a * denotes a faction that was created for this story - they might actually exist within the lore of the universe they originated from, but there has been no indication by the writers of said universe that this is the case.

Name: Kane Alabaster

Universe of Origin (can be an original creation): Hub citizen

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Organization They Belong To (If applicable): Hub Combat Systems(made up). Hub Combat systems formed in preparation for the upcoming war. Currently the suppliers for small arms and mechanized forces

Appearance: Kane is clearly western in appearance. Having short black hair with light green eyes, almost light enough to be compared to a crystal. Kane is often found in overalls, not letting some of the old ways die in this new age.

Short Bio: Kane and his twin sister were born into the Civ beyond earth universe, in particular the Colony. His mother was a soldier for ARC and his father was a civil engineer. Since youth, machines of all types fascinated Kane. Military equipment drew his attention the most, for simply curiosity and the reasons behind them. Through this fascination he developed a knack for engineering and tinkering. Once the Mega Primus campaign was over, the family discussed emigration to the hub. After much deliberations, emigration won out over remaining.

Upon seeing the scope of the Hub's capital city was shocking. Wonders of technology that dwarfed what any nation had and the diverse number of species that inhabited the hub. Adapting to the Hub took some time however with aid from the residences, the transition was eased. During the transition, Kane formed strong bonds and friendships, despite the differences in species.

Kane interterned at Hub Systems, a prominent engineering company located in the hub. Their area of expertise was in civil, mechanical and chemical engineering. During the course of the internship, he was exposed to technology that was only dreamed of. Learning the basics of these wonders was a bit rocky at first but quickly became proficient at it. Once the internship came to a close, Hub systems offered him employment. The higher ups were impressed with his quickness to learn the new tools and adaptability. Kane jumped at the opportunity. His employment at HS became a part of his fondness experiences.

The craft of arms design would never see use in Kane life, but circumstances would see the necessity of the craft. Where enemies that had the real possibility of striking the hub. In the face of this threat, came the need for the mobilization and armament of the citizens. Individuals with experience or the knowledge were transferred to these new companies to begin the process. With the knowledge and skills, it was logical they would choose him for these new companies. Most of his available time was spent designing the tools for conflict.

Skills: Engineering, tinkering and marksmanship.

Warning : I'm so utterly new at this, so I apologize if I'm doing everything wrong.

Name: Lumi Ephlezra

Universe of Origin : Orust [Original Creation].

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Organization They Belong To : None

Appearance: Lumi has ghostly white hair and ash-like grey skin, along with startlingly bright amber eyes. She appears quite emaciated at all times, with a sickly tone to her complexion. She has an average height. She normally appears with a set of robes, which she has multiple sets of. Her robes tend to be very bright and flamboyant in contrast to her drab appearance.

Background: Lumi was born in a dying world, one that had already lost 99.9% of its populace due to a variety of disasters and calamities. For most of her life, Lumi never interacted with another living being. Instead, all of her interpersonal relationships were with Ghosts and Echos, with whom she formed close bonds with. In fact, she intended to die in Orust, becoming one of the last living people to finally transition into the afterlife of Orust. However, during the last dying breaths of Orust, Lumi was unexpectedly encountered by a group of living individuals, who decided to kidnap her and transport her to the Hub. Once she got there, she was shocked and distraught to realize that the afterlife of the Hub is a different one from the afterlife of Orust, and that she'd likely never be able to enter the afterlife of Orust, as the world was just about to die when she was snatched away from it. Nowadays, Lumi is restless, struggling to find a new place for herself.

Powers/Skillset : Lumi has the ability to summon forth copies or replicas of deceased peoples, which are referred to as "echos." These echoes have the memories of their living counterparts, but they are otherwise not actually living, sentient people - mere reflections of the people they used to be. Thus, they cannot grow or learn, merely remaining exactly the same as when they died. Lumi can only summon these echos by doing a ritual that involves sacrificing something that was important to the echo in life, like a photograph, spouse, or even part of their dead body. Furthermore, Lumi can speak to and interact with ghosts, whom are typically deceased people who have refused to move on to the afterlife. Ghosts, unlike echos, can grow and learn just like normal people. Finally, Lumi has the capacity to bring a soul that has already passed onto the afterlife into the mortal plane once more. This process requires the exchange of a living soul; additionally, both souls must consent to the exchange, or it will fail horribly.

What they were doing before getting sucked into the portal: She was patiently awaiting her own demise as the ground she was sitting on began to crumble apart.

Approved. Welcome to the madhouse.

Funny you mentioned the afterlife of the hub - that is actually going to be a plot point in Conquest.

Though, I should clarfiy this now, a person who dies in the hub will go to their afterlife, even if its in a different universe. That's just how things work. Unless they are barred from the afterlife, of course.

Warning: still messy. Also just realized I basically make Alex Mercer but magic.

Name: Et a Nihil
Universe of Origin (can be an original creation): Metal Slug (OC)
Age: 2 months
Gender: None
Organization They Belong To (If applicable): Invader

Due to being a shapeshifter, Fere can appear however as they want but usually they settled with an androgynous young teenager with black hair and fair skin that sometimes gives an aura that drives people to be on edge or even stressed. Their true form is that of a large mass of black goo that barely reflects any light, which makes all who looked at it to at least be uncomfortable or even insane if their will is not strong
Background: Mysterious Invader who not even most their fellow Invaders know what or who they are and act more independently than the others. In truth, Nihil was born as one of the latest creation of the Invader in their quest to conquer earth. Based on their predecessor, Et a Omnis, the Martian's Professor knowledge and mystical power from Ptolemaic Army, Nihil was supposed to be a new step for the Invader's conquest of the earth. However, an accident occurred which resulted in Nihil in their current state. Most of the time, Nihil spend their time in various battlefields, seemingly doing their own thing or ambushing notable individuals before running away.
Drought - As an invader, Nihil's goo body is far more durable than it looked like. While still vulnerable to a continued barrage of mundane weaponry, Nihil is tough enough to survive an artillery bombardment and regenerate their wounds in minutes in their normal form. Also, their goo somehow can squeeze themselves into smaller for as despite their appearance.

Those Who Lost Their Way - Shapeshifting is one of the abilities various invaders have but Nihil takes it to another level. While their shapeshifting is limited in size and therefore lack the capability of fully mimic large things like Et a Omnis by themselves, Nihil can not only copy but also mix, match and modify anything they copied, albeit initially weaker than the originals. Due to their nature, even esoteric power like ESP, magic, super science and even conceptual nature can be copied by Nihil. While surface-level appearance can be immediately copied, power and more intrinsic things take more times through observations or much faster if Nihil can touch or assimilate/devour them.

Those Who Ends It All - Nihil ultimate and strongest power in their arsenal, to put it simply, Nihil extremely good at breaking things down. Both figuratively and literally. This including resistance, defence, toughness, immunity, an energy blast to even more esoteric in nature such as confidence, mental stability, identity, chaos and order. Nihil almost never uses this power to full power nor they were confident able to control it themselves, as such they tried to suppress it most of the time. This is the reason why most people and things feel uncomfortable around them, even as they tried to suppress it as best as they can. This power also the one that helped with devouring things.

Gate Guardian - As part of their nature, Nihil is naturally possessed high resistance against non-natural forces and element. They are especially resistant against things that try to change their nature such as corruption, mind control or the chaotic nature of physics defying realm.

What they were doing before getting sucked into the portal: Before being sucked in a portal, Nihil was involved in an all-out battle royale between several factions. Nihil was actually the last notable member of the Invader faction as they buy time for the others notable member to retreat. They was successful in their job but also en route to certain death if not for the sudden portal sucked them away.

You are approved, welcome to the team.

Was the Rebel Army involved in that battle royal?

To be clear, we (our entire system) will be collectively playing as this character.

Name: Azzarkh

Universe of Origin (can be an original creation): Generic Fantasy, no further details required.

Age: Forgotten, very old.

Gender: Jerk. Neutral pronouns.

Organization They Belong To (If applicable): N/A

Appearance: Tan, ripped AF, sunglasses, bottom half fades into smoke. Dark blue hair, beard. Bottle is made of brass, and rather plain aside from inscribed warnings along the lines of "DANGER, Asshole Genie Inside!" in damn near every language the multiverse has to offer.

Background: If ever there were a genie that deserved to get trapped in a bottle granting wishes to whoever picked it up, it was Azzarkh. They are bitter, cruel, megalomaniacal, and very, very experienced at twisting people's words around to screw them over with their own wishes. That said, Azzarkh's life is tied to their bottle; if it were to be shattered, they would die. As such, if threatened with imminent death, it IS possible to get Azzarkh to not twist a wish out of sheer self-preservation.

Powers/Skillset: Azzarkh is a VERY powerful genie, and can do damn near anything up to the planetary scale. That said, all this power is sealed behind wishes; he cannot use it on his own without a wish being made upon his power, and cannot produce a result not in some way supported by the precise wording of the original wish. There is no explicit limit to how many wishes a given person can make on Azzarkh, but few would dare make a second. Without a wish being made upon him, Azzarkh is limited to punching like a normal person, slow flight, and an ability to respawn in the bottle if their body is dispersed. They cannot exit their bottle without someone opening it.

What they were doing before getting sucked into the portal: Waiting in their bottle for their next victim master.

Name: The Admiral

Race: Human/World of Warships

Age: 43(Biological)/237(mental)

Gender: Male

He looks something like this, ignore the fairy. He's a crusty old sea salt.

Personality: The admiral has mastered the art of: Work hard, party hard in face of his circumstances, he is very stiff and formal on the job, a side effect of goofing off leading to death in his line of work. Off the job though, he is almost a completely different person as he had to use his rare shore leave well or the built up stress would drive him mad. He is usually formal with strangers and colleagues, and takes a while to warm up to people, a part of seeing people he had befriended die right in front of him so often. He spends the time he has with his rare few friends well, however as he knows that all things must end eventually.

Skills: He has mastered the art of naval warfare, both in the ocean of water, and the ocean of stars. In seeking to best command any vessels under his command, he has become a scientist, as a ship can only be commanded to its full potential when fully understood. He is also a novice shipbuilder, as studying the ships he may command to fully understand them includes studying the construction of said ships. After a close call that should have been impossible within the bounds of the system, he is also adept at using melee weaponry to defend himself, and has experience with naval boarding actions.

What he was doing: He was already a resident of The Hub, after being rescued from The System by Infernum forces.

Backstory: One of the few early subjects of The System, he is one of the rare "Admirals" that have not gone mad from centuries of constant warfare. He was taken at the age of 23 from his home universe -a universe he can't even remember- to partake in endless naval warfare within The System. His adopted home universe is known most commonly as "World Of Warships" and he has been through countless naval battles, and has died countless times, only to be brought back at the age of his first death to fight again. He has commanded every kind of ship that ever served in WW2, and on some that never even had a hull start construction, from the lowly Liberty Ship, to the mighty Yamato herself, he has done it all. In his universe, you earned your identity from two things: age, and your legend. He is one of the oldest members of The System, earning him the title of Admiral, and his legend is that of the "Midnight Moon" due to his penchant for night battles. Once he joined the Infernum Federation he sought to become an Admiral in space just as good as he was in the water. He spent years learning the ships in service inside and out, as a ship can only be used to its full potential if you fully understand it, and as such he has become somewhat of a scientist of naval technology.

He is here because he doesn't and never will fit into life as a civilian, not after his centuries of war at the hands of The System, so he seeks to apply his skills somewhere they can make a difference, and to have something worth fighting for.

He has carried an M1911 service pistol as part of his legend from The System, as a reminder of the boarding action of a hostile battleship he led personally, thus solidifying his legend. He also carries a cane sword, a gift given by a dear friend that became part of his legend when he used it to kill two members of a hostile crew seeking an advantage for their next match, which was to be against a fleet commanded by himself. He killed them in the shore leave area, which was a small island town generated by The System, while drunk and returning to his ship. When rescued by the Infernum Federation, he was aboard the fourth of the Shiratsuyu class destroyers, Yudachi, who he has kept as a personal ship if he ever needs to perform a wet navy action again. His Yudachi has been upgraded by the Federation to be automated and only needs a captain however, so his crew has left to go on with relatively normal lives.
